Just visited this place for the first time and I enjoyed it,good food and good choices too,will be going again spoke to the owner who was very friendly and helpful.

Buffet tasted good but was a little boring. Didnt quite seem worth the price. Staff also seemed quite bored which ruined the feeling a little.

Lunch time on Thursday 11th june. Menu outside says £ 9.99 buffet. Inside however, price becomes £14. 99. We were told " sorry haven't got round to changing it yet !!!! " The place was practically empty and smelt slightly of cheap disinfectant. The very limited buffet consisted of nearly empty trays of food that looked as if it was cooked hours before. Very limited variety and many trays with just the sauce remaining. We left without eating, met the ? manager outside, who said he was sorry we were leaving without eating, but didn't ask why !!!!! Won't be going back .

EATO was a superb place to visit with my family. Not only does the restaurant hold a modern & colourful setting it also has the comfort of that rustic feel. We received outstanding customer service from all staff at this eatery & the food didn't disappoint either. Our food was delectably delicious & beautifully presented. What makes this a burger joint like no other is their delightful range of coloured burger buns! I highly recommend this place whether you have young children or not, I personally loved my pink burger. Will be going back soon. Jay Alam

Went here last week as the professor had to starve for the rest of the day has had an operation the next day, had a warm welcome, sat down and ordered drinks and then I went to look at the selection of food. This was about 1.30 pm .A lot of the trays were empty and others had hardly anything in them and the ones being replenished were chips and rice and other what you call fast food items, the Chinese dishes were very thin on the counters and where there used to be curries and other items on the back tables these were missing apart from a few slices of dried up pizza and other bread based items, what was out looked tried and unappealing. Went back to the table and the professor went to have a look and came back with the same feeling that things were not being replenished and asked the manager why ,he spoke back to the professor in Chinese? . We paid for the drinks and left, won't go back as not only was the food substandard but the price has now risen to £9.45, which as the food has not changed in many years and has become less it's no longer a place to eat . It's sad as it used to be good

We have been to this restaurant many times, but can honestly say this was the worse visit ever. As a positive the staff were friendly! The food was Luke warm, tasted stale and very poor selection. Funnily we were charged the week day lunch time cost and not the weekend price! So maybe they knew that the food was not up to standard! We will not be visiting again.

We went for lunch and tbh it's the worst chinese I have ever had and would never go again, the prawn toast was so greasy and everything else i had wasnt very nice either, I had planned an evening visit but that wont go ahead now.

Have been here several times and food has been varied and with lots of choice always been on a week day once on a Sunday. Our last visit was not up to their usual standard no fresh salad no Thai curry or rice. Food not very hot tried asking why choice so poor but the 3 people I spoke to said sorry no English?? Will not be going back.

Great food eat all you can reasonably priced love it we go back again and again and even brought a birthday cake out for us on more than one occasion

We used to eat here regular but recently has really gone down hill. £8.49 now for lunch. No longer any curries. The beef is tough and tastless, the onion raw and chillies hard. No chocolate fountain now and dessert cabinet had only 3 pre plated slices of dried up chocolate cake, cheap tin fruit and toffee apple which were all stuck together. Won't be going again

Visited this Saturday lunchtime with partner and two children aged 3&7. Staff were very efficient, quickly shown to our table drinks ordered and arrived within a couple of minutes. Plates are quickly cleared ...The selection is amazing ... however the food is mass produced and of low quality, Chinese sauces appear to be watery and lacking any real flavour, chicken is slimey. You can find a plate of food that is edible and acceptable but don’t expect to excite your taste buds ! The real shock came when the bill came £59... when I queried the bill just pointed me to the £14.99 sign, I was clearly not the first. We only had a couple of soft drinks and tap water. We last visited about a year ago and the same was just over £30, which seemed acceptable! For this money, I will certainly not be returning as we can eat at far better a la carte restaurants for similar money. £7.50 seems a bit excessive for a 3 year old too.You’s offers a far better chinese buffet (freshly cooked dishes served to your table) for less money and far superior quality if chinese is what you are after.

Plenty of choices. Eat as much as you like. Good price too. A casual place to eat out with family and friends

Fantastic buffet selection, great quality food, reasonable prices. I always make a point of visiting this Chinese restaurant whenever I'm down in Hastings. I highly recommend.

Every year for at least 10 years ate at Eatto. All years we had very good value for money, but this year the quality was very poor, you can't even speak of quality : everything cold, hardly any flavour,no Chinese management and cooks,seemed like chinese food a la Poland , less choice , no fresh fruit, toilet flushknob in the ladies replaced by a dirty pulling rope.

Visited as a couple on a Friday night. You can eat as much as you like for a set price and not rushed to leave. Standard Chinese food, no sushi. Nothing outstanding but fine as buffet food goes

The food was cold and awful, no flavour and the quality is really cheap! This place has gone down hill rapidly and we won’t be returning! You can see the food has declined and the staff are quite rude! I would neve return!

We went for a birthday treat. No atmosphere no friendly welcome or goodbye. Food was beige and fried. Cocktails were terrible. For what we had it was expensive. The food low quality. Four children ate a small amount and as they were just above the measure line. Still had to pay for eating nothing.

I went recently to eat with my friends, the food and good and the drinks also, the only problem and that the seating and tables are not cleaned really well, while the area eat and clean and nice to stay!

This place attracts the greedies! You can pile your plate up with some tasty, but rather unhealthy oriental food. Cheap and plentiful, if that's what you want

A cheap chinese meal mostly average, don't expect much and you won't have to complain, take a tupperware box and fill it for the dog.

Always made a point of visiting Eatto when in Hastings as food has always been amazing. Sad to see however that new management have taken over and you can tell !! Food is bland with no flavour, now all tastes the same puddings were once a nice way to end a meal however now all topped with artifical cream not pleasant. Such as shame a great place gone to waste

Always impressed by a good buffet, and this certainly hits the spot. This is under new management I believe and the food quality is excellent and varied. Though titled as a Pan Asian Buffet, there are also items suitable for kids and more fussy eaters and also a wide range of fruit and desserts.

this place has really gone down hill from when it first opened would never eat there again food was not worth the money staff where rude cleaning up around us while we where still eating trying to go home early never again .

Came here at 12 today with 8 other people booked our table in advance there was not a lot to choose from in the way of food and staff were very rude not 1 of them broke a smile when we asked where the toilets where they replied "what" then when he worked out what we were saying he just nodded in the direction and walked off toilets were very slippery and no sign not easy 2 understand what they say and made ordering drinks very hard I think that they could at least crack a smile or be more polite or maybe Evan ask if you are done with your plate or saying excuse me please rather then just barging in and grabing plates squid was very over cooked and horrible and prawns where battered and not peeled and were also over cooked will not be returning any time soon would not advise going here.

Toilets are disgusting there was blood on the floor, male member of the party commented that men’s toilets were like an ice rink and unhygienic, we did tell a waiter and nothing was done.

The restaurant was full of fruit flies.. Had to move twice which made no difference.. flys were all over the sushi and desserts.. Had to leave my food as they were flying into it.. really bad

3 of us ate here in September and we were very disappointed. The place is decorated in a very shabby (not chic) way, needs a good clean too!

If you want to eat lots of Chinese food but not too fussy. Then you’ll like this place. The food at lunchtime was fresh helped by a large turnover of customers. I wouldn’t say it’s wonderful but I think people are either unlucky or just too fussy. The toilets were ok too. Not brilliant but acceptable. However their drinks tasted flat and watery. So a thumbs down for that one...

A disappointed visit on the food side this time, very poor choice of food more empty containers than full ones. when questioned their reply was they had been busy which isnt good enough in my opinion. We was booked in so they knew we was coming. WE had to complain several times in the evening about the same thing.

My partner loves a buffet so we came here for dinner.

Popped in on a recent trip.. always dubious of Buffett but kids were starving so seemed a good option.. was really surprised good selection of food all very nice, fairly priced was busy at lunch which is a good sign.. the manager even cooked my wife a special vegetarian dish when we asked.. really happy. Toilets are in need of refurbishment but other than was all great.

Wow public toilets are cleaner then here disgusting. Had signs up saying wet floor as been cleaned . Not been cleaned health hazard!!!!

Well this was a poor excuse for food ,must have been there all day the food was stone cold and some of the sauce was congealed.We should have trusted our judgment when there was only 2 families in but gave it a chance. The starters were cold hot and sour soup a joke ,my husband tried chicken satay but it was dried up cold and the curry sauce was congealed.when he tried the tai red curry for main he refused to eat it as the whole meal was stone cold including the rice ,so we called for the waiter who called for the manager who went back to use his fingers to test the for !!!!! We paid for the wine ordered and refused to pay for the food terrible.

This used to be a great place for a quick lunch. Unfortunately it really has gone down hill. The staff (bless them) walk around with no smiles and look totally bored. And the food has taken a turn for the worst. There’s not the choice that there once was and nothing’s replenished that quickly so empty bowls. The toilets have seen manny better days too.

Went to this restaurant with a big group of 9, they had no problem seating us in a table that had been reserved for 2 hours after we arrived and politely let us know this. All of the food we had was very nice, most all you can eat buffets are just standard food for a high price. This was reasonably priced with very good food, we will return if we are in the area again. Highly recommend!

Beautiful food but be warned very filling. Lovely atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. Only downfall for me was toilets let down by looking dirty and paper all over from bins. Staff very polite and nothing too much trouble.

Great and tasty food with a good amount of choice, I am surprised by the reviews saying it was dirty and there was no choice or the staff were rude, we went in a group of 9 and everyone loved the food and found the atmosphere very nice (although some background music would be appreciated). Overall a really lovely place and I will definitely be going again

Food was ok, what you expect from an all you can eat restaurant.

I think the least you can expect when you go out to eat are clean plates but I saw three plates with food stuck on. If the food was fantastic I could have forgotten about the plates but the food is bland and a bit dry. I think this restaurant's saviour is its air con which was much appreciated during this hot weather but cleanliness in a restaurant is kind of important.

Having been here many times in the past, we thought we’d go today, (not been though for about a year) the food was absolutely disgusting, very little choice, the chicken was really dry, desserts were stuck to the bottoms of pots. When we were leaving we said we’d like to complain but was told that the chef knows it bad but doesn’t care, the chef and owner are family so aren’t bothered, we was told if we don’t like it just eat elsewhere . Definitely won’t be going back here again. £80 for 4 adults and a child so not cheap either

Not been here for a while. Will never go here again. This place was never great but it has managed to get much worse.

The restaurant is now called youmethai but there is only a small sign outside, the very shabby Eatto exterior signs remain and the whole exterior does not convey what to expect inside.

We booked as a group. The female staff were efficient. The man on the till was abrupt and quite rude. The food was nothing special....none of us will be going back!

Visited with friends for a lunchtime buffet.The restaurant wasn't exceptionally busy, but had to wait for dishes to be refilled. Ladies toilets were stained, one door didn't lock and handrail rusty. We were not impressed and won't be returning.

we have been going to this restaurant for 10 years or more and can honestly say we wont be going back. Food not as good, staff look as though they dont want to be there, no atmosphere. Someone else has taken over this establishment I imagine and are cutting corners.

Came on a Friday night and well most of the food had little taste to it. Not much choice for vegetarians either and only 1 pizza with meat on. Some of the dishes empty. Calamari and thai chicken unrecognizable.

Visited today 16 June after my daughter kept asking to try I've tried quite few buffet places so knew what to expect but felt was under par even for cheap price, alot of food was watery then noodles very dry was not refilling dessert trays no chocolate fountain on lunchtime which is what kids were after, was very cheap so can't complain to much but won't be returning which is shame as it's my closest one

It’s quite hard to find healthy restaurants in Hastings, there’s a lot of junk food places, so I’m glad they have healthy options here, the avocado roll was delicious as was the vegetable soup. I’ll definitely be eating here more often.

Don't know what's happened to the place usually good but this time was terrible.went for Saturday lunch and what food was there was over cooked most of the stuff was empty and from the time we was there to time we finished nothing was replenished. My son went the other day and he had same experience so until they decide to sort themselves out avoid

we went to hastings today and thought we would give eat to another look we used to go there and then we went and it was awful and we noticed there was different staff but today it was excellent and the staff were different so i dont know what happened but today was really good

Went for a quick evening meal, food below average. The main gripe was seeing staff eating food directly out of the trays of food. I raised this when we paid our bill and was told the manager is on holiday (i didnt ask for the manager, i just raised the fact staff are eating out of food trays).

Our second visit to this large Thai restaurant on the promenade. We arrived around 6pm on Bank Holiday Sunday and the restaurant was almost empty. There was excellent menu choice and we found the food and service to be very good.

This was probably the most disgusting food I have ever seen and attempted to eat anywhere in the world. Have a look in the litter bins if you are that desperate.

I took our friends there as they were over from Africa which was quite last minute . Absolutely disgrace ! We arrived around 8.15 5 adults 1 child and a baby . We were asked if we booked and replied no. They found us a table and from then on we were rushed to get our food and drinks then to be told we should get our deserts as we were told they were closing at 9.30. The meal it’s self was not enjoyable ! We hadn’t been there long and then he kept coming over taking our plates . Then when we had finished he came and asked ya to pay the bill! Not a relaxing place at all! The food was ok but not brilliant! When we did leave as we were practically forced to go on walking the distance to our cars we ended with stitch as it was all rushed!! Never again!! Leaving our friends not very impressed at all!!

My goodness where to start I love TripAdvisor and should have read reviews for this restaurant/cafe before I allowed my husband to pay £40 for the no quality food we picked around to make a half decent plate full.Saturday night should have all that is advertised on the website,no salad at all on the salad bar,1 piece of pizza,sushi station closed at 8:15 leaving little sushi available,another station empty unaware of what it should have been,no cobra available to drink and never AVAILABLE apparently so had to have the Carling on draught, cheap,cheap lager,my son who is 10 refused to eat anything and I wish I had took a look first before I committed myself.Luke warm food as well.

My daughter came home after eating here and was sick the order was wrong and lips stick on glass we told them several times to change it and all they done was wipe the glass with a cloth and my daughter had something crawling in her dinner as will not be going there again

Most of the food was cold the order was wrong the glasses had lip stick on and then when they took them away they wiped the glass with a cloth and refilled the glass then we found something weird in the dinner we then proceeded to try the desert and found that there was plastic in the cake

Went in and staff was not very welcoming they just stand and stair at you , ordered a drink and they brought the wrong one and then changed it and brought a glass with somebody else’s lipstick on it showing they haven’t washed the glasses probably, I have come home feeling so sick and being sick the food was not even that grate it tasted really bitter like vinegar, I will not be going back and other people

Whilst I was out with my family we had a meal and the drinks came, the drinks were all wrong and the glasses had lipstick on, was asked to change them and they just wiped the lipstick off this is disgusting and my niece came home and was really sick will not be coming back here again and recommend that people go to buffet time in Eastbourne

So goooddddd. Best find in a long time will defo be going back. Lots to pick from and it's all you can it so go get as much as your belly back manage :)

we had been to this restaurant many times last year so as a treat we drove down to hastings again.... what a total let down. the food was not good most of it cold where it should have been hot. very little to choose from and even the people on the next table said the same. wont be going back there again thats for sure. to travel all the way there to get rubbish food is not on. i hear it is a different management from last summer so i guess thats why its gone down the pan

I went there with my pet Carrot called Jonny. I have to tell you sir manager, your food was anything short of poor. We went in to the restaurant fist bumping and fist gliding shouting YESSSS at the top of my voice, i almost got a little stiffington bear. However, it was nawt very niceeeee food. It looked dankington bear but was peak as bro. I would like the little boy managers name as i would like to make a personal complaint on the rudeness. He wasnt very nice to my pet carrot. I brought my carrot from Tesco and hes a very nice guy. PLZZZZZZ dont treat little boy jondoid like that again please. The salt and pepper chicken was deliiiiiiiightful to eat. The food looked nice but actually wasnt and therefore im giving you a 1* rating. Also i was having a post meal poo and there was no toilet roll so i used a duck pancake instead.

Great place to visit with friends, staff are always around to help and are quite friendly, food on the buffet is always presented nicely and plentiful, expensive when it comes to drinks tho

Second visit for us, this was better than we remembered it, never seen so many dishes available in one place before, I think I tried everyone!

Dinner was ample lots of choice hot flavoursome and great value ...only thing is if your going to make candy floss for the kids it should be readily available we had 9 kids with us and we had to wait for it, other than that all was good..would recommend it to others

Love it here but the one criticism I have is that the staff are watching you like a hawk. You put your cutlery down on your plate, just to take a breather, and whoosh! There they are asking if you've finished, even tho you have quite a bit of food still on your plate! That said, staff are friendly and food is great with a huge choice!

Been with family and Friends Enjoyed all the dishes specially some sea food dishes freshly cooked in-front of us. Loads...

Food was luke warm, had been sitting there for ages, some of the trays were down to the last dregs....

Too high a price for what it is, have had much nicer Chinese buffet for less money. Felt sick to my stomach almost immediately. Could not go near certain foods as the ones we did manage to eat tasted downright dodgy. Awkward, anxious atmosphere that didn’t overly make me want to eat. Seriously would not recommend going here unless you want a night of disappointment, nausea and buyer’s remorse.

Have been here a few times,lunchtime and evening and it has always been very good.Took my grandchildren last time in the evening and they loved it!! Loads of choices from teppenyaki to sushi ,all delicious The kids loved the chocolate fountain but there were lots of healthy choices as well.Well worth a visit and its cheaper at lunchtime.Try it!!!

We have all had an "all you can eat" buffet.... but this one was the best that I have had of its type. The food was hot, delicious and varied, several dishes I had never had before, a lovely and comprehensive set of deserts, a chocolate fountain and even candy floss. I was full up before I had tried everything I wanted to..... I guess I will have to go back soon to try the other dishes.One small negative... a little bit expensive ( my 11 year old was charged adult rate at £13.99 per head. Mind you, the food was great and the staff were pleasant.

Nice place, clean and bright, not as many choices for mains as i would have liked, but as you can help yourself to anything you want, i ended up having more starters.......i don't think each row should be labelled as starters and mains, it should be up to the individual to decide......you can have what you want, as much as you want, as long as you try not to waste too much, which is very fair.

If you want value, go here. Less than £9 at lunchtime during the week. Evenings and Sundays and Bank holidays are more expensive but include a Japanese section. I often eat a Thai seafood soup, followed by a diverse plate of starters, followed by some Peking duck pancakes, followed by a large plate of main courses, followed by a plate or 2 of desserts. Best to go hungry and early to take one's time. Had an excellent Spanish Riocha last week at £14. Pleasant staff and i like the room too. GO!

I visited yesterday with my family very poor quality and consequently very ill today not good will never return

I visited with extended family (4 adults and 4 children aged 2 to 14) and we couldn't have had a warmer welcome from the staff. I gave the size of the party without thinking, one of the children is actually over the height limit but it wasn't questioned. The choice of food is quite exceptional, if you can't find something to your liking then I'd be very surprised. I read an earlier review about being ill after a meal here, but the buffet trays were kept very hot (I saw kitchen staff checking with a probe) and were replaced very regularly, so I had no concerns. We had an excellent meal and the staff couldn't have been more helpful, even replacing a child's spilt drink without us asking and at no charge.

Lots of choices for appetizers, mains & desserts. There's candy floss&popcorn for the kids too. One of us has a medical issue and needs to have no/low oil in their diet, and the chef was kind enough to prepare noodles with veggies&squid on the teppanyaki without oil. Staff were nice & helpful. So good value for money

This place was really packed on a Saturday bank holiday evening in late August, but we were efficiently ushered into a room, and when it came time to pay and leave, it was equally well managed. The man on the door is outstanding and the rest of the staff are just as good, even while the amount of people coming and going was so high. They take very good care of the elderly, children and handicapped people, which was good to see. To cap it all, the buffet food was hot, fresh and tasty and to the highest oriental standard. I will look for Eatto's in London!

There was 6 of us 2 adults and 4 children there was a table available straight away. They charge half price for children over a certain height think it was 150cm they measure the children on the way in.Being an eat as much as you like there is lots of different dishes available. Not so many vegetarian dishes as I would like but still enough to have a nice meal. If you eat meat then there is so many choices for you to have here.Puddings again not as many veggie ones that are obvious... lots contain jelly or look pretty wobbly/set so we didn't take the chance, But plenty of fresh fruit to choose from. There is a little card at the back of each pudding stating what it is but no ingredients listed.For the 6 of us (3 adults 3 children) was around £75 including drinks so not to expensive.

Nice place to eat with family and friends. Staff will always manage to accomodate for large groups aswell. The food is reasonably priced for an all you can eat buffet. They make up for it in drinks prices anyway haha.I always enjoy going there but sometimes feel like everything is a little rushed. On quite a few occasions, staff have came to take plates away as soon as you've put your cutlery down. Which is ok after a good few minutes or so, but can make diners feel like they're trying to get rid of them as soon as possible.

we were so pleased to see they have put new signs up on the outside walls at the front and the side ,telling everyone its a buffett house and where the door is. with in a day they must of payed for them selfs. in hole place inside has had a up grade it looked like to me. very smart clean and nice looking. a very friendly staff member should us to out seats. there was a very nice ,tasty and hot range of food. we didnt get a sence of eat up and letts have your table back. we were in there for over hour and a half. for under £9 its a great place to visit . i wish i was under 4 foot 6, as i would get in for half price. but i will be back again for sure. well done guys keep it up.

My wife and I went for Lunch with 4 friend's.All I will say is all 6 of us can't wait to go again and the SOONER THE BETTER.

We had seen this restaurant on websites before we can even on holiday to Hastings. So we already wanted to locate it and have a look. On first impressions the location can be confusing, as it appears to be on the top floor but it is underneath another restaurant. After a couple of days we noticed new signs in the outside which helps locate the entrance.As lunch is only £8.49 per person for adults for an all you can eat buffet, we decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed.The main cuisine is chinese with loads of options available.But there is a wide variety of children's food on offer, such pizza, chips and onion rings. There are also some curries and soups available.The dessert buffet is nice too.Evening prices are £13.99 or £14.99 per adult depending on the evening choosen. The food is fresh and tasty. The staff are very efficient and friendly. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone from families to large parties.It's a shame we aren't local, if we were this be our regular restaurant.

Visited here with our family which included 3 boys....10, 7 and 10 weeks for an early Father's Day meal. Having read some mixed reviews on here I wasn't sure what to expect, which was compounded when I phoned to make the reservation and spoke to a man who was (far, far) less than friendly.......but I have to say we were surprisingly delighted with our meal. The price is a little steep (my tip is to starve yourself before you go....get your money's worth!!), though the drinks were reasonable. I have been to bigger buffets that offered more choice but there was still plenty on offer here that suited both us and the kids....the food looked fresh, tasted good and the place was spotlessly clean. My only slight reservations were that it was quite hot in the restaurant, so much so that it did become a bit uncomfortable after a while and that the plate clearing was slightly too efficient and they were whipped away from you at every given opportunity!However, what set this place apart from other buffets I have been to was the staff, they were fantastic. From helping us down the stairs with the pram, making sure we had a table that could accommodate the pram being next to us, to being absolutely fantastic with boys.....they were all superb, very friendly and extremely helpful.We will definitely return!

Family dinner for 9, enjoyed by us all. One is vegetarian, and was delighted by the selection available to her. Looking forward to our next visit.

After visiting this establishment I spent a couple of hours feeling awful. Then I was violently sick. I have a feeling they keep their food in those trays for days. Please don't go here.

On our visit. Staff were very attentive. Clearing tables as soon as dishes were finished with. All our food was ok. Most dishes in the trays were topped up. Our food wasn't dried up. As I have had with others. We felt the price was a little sharp. But it was bank holiday Monday. There was an excellent selection of food. Afters were also plentiful. And nice. Would happily return.

We found this place by accident when looking for somewhere easy for dinner and I'm so glad we did. The food variety suits me and my fiancé perfectly. It's a great price for both lunch and dinner and fills us both up to excess so we don't need anything more later in the evening. We are both a little fussy when it comes to food but we both really like the food here, simple and cheap suits us both to a tee. The drink choices are good (although we both only opted for a soft drink) the seating area is very big and we don't feel like we are sat on top of other tables. I would absolutely come back to Eatto again and again!
