Taste of Paradise in Telford and Wrekin

I ordered a large takeaway for a gathering of friends with a variety of dishes for a birthday party. The food was prepared on time and everything was delicious. I’ve been eating here for a number of years and never been disappointed Taste of Paradise is far and away my vote for best Indian restaurant in the area.

Booked a table of 4 for a Friday night and there was plenty of room to chose from as we were there early evening, it did start to fill up as the evening went on. All of the staff are really friendly and helpful, with help making choices that suite you as an individual. All of the food was hot and e collect as always, what is nice is that the staff are always nearby if you need help but not intrusive. It's was nice to have a laugh with the young waiter who even took some photos of all of us for us. Cannot fault this place and what's even better is you can bring your own alcohol, they just provide glasses and are happy to open bottles.

Been here many times, consistently great Indian food and a very wide range of choices on the menu. Great friendly service. Not licensed but very happy for you to bring your own alcohol, they supply the glasses.

Worst Massala I have ever experienced. It was like bay food on the plate with the addition of water around the edge of the plate. Would certainly not recommend.

The food was lovely but I didn't get the mushroom Rice I ordered it was just plain boiled.

We love this restaurant. But it does seem to vary. Not sure if they have different chefs on but sometimes it is amazing. Tonight it was ‘the bad chef’ and it was just not up to the usual standard.

Food was poor. Pickle platter only included mango chutney. This place was great 10 years ago but clearly gone downhill.

It is one of the top Indian restaurants in Newport. Plenty on the menu with the Chicken Naga being a favourite dishes.

The portion for the prawns is not worth the money ? There was only two and they were over cooked. Too much lemon rind spoilt the flavour.

the worst Indian meal I have every had. the fish was off! the whole meal smelt of rotten fish and the bombay pototoes were cold. called resturant to complain they were rude!

We were passing and got a takeaway from here . We Google’d takeaways in Newport as didn’t know the area and this one had the best reviews. We were certainly not disappointing I think it was the best tikka masala we have ever had and we have had a lot. The service was friendly and food top quality. If you live in Newport you are very lucky to have this Indian restaurant in your town.

We had a table booked for a Thursday night as we were visiting family for a pre Christmas meal. The staff here are so attentive and friendly but without being intrusive. Helping us make our choices when we needed help with the menu. They don't have a license to sell alcohol here so you can bring your own but they do sell soft drinks if needed. The food was amazing and we all enjoyed our meals, a great time was had by all. This place is a little gem and definitely worth a visit if you are in Newport.

I ordered at 5pm originally delivery was for 6.30pm then delivery time was changed to 6.50pm, I called the restaurant at 19.00 as it hadn’t arrived and the delivery eventually turned up at 19.14pm, never had any issues with delivery time as they have always been very good and the food is excellent

The food was the best we have had off just eat . Would recommend just need to get there timing right .

Very quiet evening with only a few people at the tables, first impressions, nice establishment clean and well set out, poppadoms to start with pickles etc all fresh and very nice, I had veg rice very nice and fresh with Chicken madras. Unfortunately, the madras sauce was very thick and stodgy. Very disappointed to be honest, chef needs to take a lot more pride in their sauce imo. Staff were nice, I will try again soon Hope there is a big improvement 👍 cost was £50 for 2 mains with no starters or sweets and no drinks.

Food was absolutely amazing 😍 but I was quite disappointed when I realised that I didn't receive the cheese naan bread which I'd payed for (if I'd of gone back to collect it the rest of my food would of been cold so I left it) Even without the naan bread it was the best Indian Ive had in a long time

Very nice food, and great prices. Driver had to call me to collect my food from him due to flooded roads but this wasn't an issue and he was friendly and cheerful. Will use again :)

Visited here around 9pm on a Saturday evening . First time visit but won't be the last nicely decorated friendly welcome . We all ordered something different from the menu and all 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed everything from the Sheek kebab to the butter chicken curry. Lovely food

Far and away the best curry in the area and I have tried many of them. Staff are always polite and friendly and the food is excellent. Every dish is different not just meat in gravy and portions are generous even in takeaways. Highly recommended.

Ordered a chicken tikka balti for collection. Food was ready to collect as stated when ordering. The balti was absolutely tasteless. The sauce was bland and had no taste of spice. It was horrible. The chicken was over cooked and there was half a hole cooked onion in the sauce with half a whole pepper. Why not chop both, it might add some flavour to the sauce. The whole thing went in the bin. Needless to say I will not return to this restaurant. Probably the worst curry I’ve ever had.

Ordered a chicken pasanda meal. The sauce was tasty but there was very little chicken and the pieces were small. It was mostly sauce. Probably the least chicken that I've ever had in a chicken curry.

As usual when busy you quoted 45 mins delivery time, phoned up after 70 mins to ask where your order is and you can hear several of them discussing it. Tell them to cancel the order as this not the 1st, 2nd or 3rd time this as happened, to make matters worse 11 mins later I get a call off the delivery driver who is at the wrong address. Not worth the agro for what is less than average meal!

The food is always beautiful made with love you can tell. Well done chefs. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I arrived to see a friend quite late and the two of us visited the restaurant which was very quiet. We had a lovely meal in quiet surroundings but with excellent friendly service.

Food took a long time, especially for a collection order. The curries were swimming in grease and naan bread had been burnt, not very good at all!

After an enjoyable meal earlier in the year, I was looking forward to returning. However, the welcome was lukewarm and so was the food. The prawn puri starter was just about acceptable but everything about the main course was a disappointment. The pilau rice was below average and portion size was derisory. The vegetable side dish, a dhal with potatoes was tasteless and the chicken jalfrezi just thrown together with a complete lack of care and attention to detail. Maybe they were more concerned with the local football team or a number of hen parties but the service was as bad as the meal.

Food was ok but not very hot and delivery time was not good they are possibly to far away for Telford deliveries

Food up to normal excellent standard and delivered on time Garlic Bahaar full of flavour especially with it madras hot. Special Naan also good (but not for the waistline).

I am unable to understand why I ordered a chicken tikka Parthia one week delivered to deer park Newport so I ordered it once again to my address and it was disgusting onions garlic NOT cooked enough and had 4 pieces of chicken then they wonder why we don’t order the REASON is it’s never the same I won’t be ordering again it was awful

My food arrived, onlyb2 pieced of chicken in a massala, called the restaurant, told I would be called back, no call, called the next day, owner was argumentative when I have been a loyal customer and never complained before, I will never use this place again

Food was ok. Service was slow. The website says free parking but I went over 2 hours limit that I hadnt seen due to it being dark by 1 minute and now have £100 parking fee. Don't believe the free parking advertised on their website or on their menus. Definitely will not be visiting them again. Contacted them to advise on the issue and they said it was not their responsibility as the information on the website and menus was old and everyone knew there was a 2 hour time limit.

Last two times the order has been late. This time I phoned for a refund and told to just wait for the delivery. Poor customer service. Will use another local restaurant in the future.

Tasty on time lamb tikka they never had so just had lamb

Honestly the worst quality meat of any curry I've ever had. The lamb was like shoe leather and the prawns were so overcooked they were "bouncy" no refund offered after a terrible meal

The food is usually very good which means I generally ignore the poor time keeping and rude attitude of the staff. Though tonight I ordered to collect at 6:30 and at 6:55 was told my order was given to someone else… no apologies not that it would be ok! Food was not very good either !!

Delivery was quick but the masala we ordered contained a huge amount of water. Within minutes of it being dished up on the plate, all the food was swimming in red water which was a real shame. Never experienced a watery masala sauce before.

A busy day, so elected for meal out. Paradise is an excellent, reliable, goto place and was chosen. BYO made the choice very affordable. We love fish/seafood so, after poppadoms, it was king prawn naga, king prawn madras, fish naga (salmon) and balti ceylon (k.prawn again). All arrived within 30mins and our feast began. Absolutely beautiful food. Way more prawns than in any Indian food we've had in last few years. We all left full and happy - no room for a dessert. Did I mention the Bhindi Bhaji side? A must have, simultaneously crunchy and v.tasty. Highly recommended, best Indian for miles around certainly 20 miles.

Excellent food served by waiters who were always available to see to the needs of our party of six without infringing on our privacy. I have been before and will definitely go again. A very clean restaurant and the prices are inexpensive. I would very highly recommend this restaurant to all curry lovers and beginners.
