Gluten free review: Jenkos is was an absolutely amazing experience. Though the staff weren’t super knowledgeable in the options for gluten free, they were able to bring out an allergens list for us. This was a Sunday carvery delivery £24.50 total, dinner with 2 meats and 1 pudding. I’ve never had an issue in the past and after reading a bad review on here I still thought I would go by my past experiences and order as not well enough to cook. I really regret my decision. When it arrived the drivers said I owed them money and asked how was I going to pay. I was extremely embarrassed and confused as they had already called me 12pm to take payment and dinner was arriving 1.30pm. They however wouldn’t let me have my dinner til I showed proof of my payment on my banking app, as their receipt said “ no payment” They could see I then paid and still had to ring to confirm and then drove off saying “ it’s a good one today “ If this is good I would hate to think what was bad…. Missing Brocolli and peas and I paid £2.50 extra for the potatoes even though I asked for no cabbage and bacon. Half a Yorkshire pudding. Gravy was nice. Meat was dry. I will be completely honest, this dinner went to my dogs and I just ate the cheesecake. I sent a text and called Jade the manager straight away and she argued with me, was rude, refused any refund or even part refund and denied the situation even when I sent the same picture I’ve uploaded on here as soon as I opened the box. Very unprofessionally run. I would avoid

To say I am disappointed is an understatement. We visited as a group of 10 for a celebration. In our party there we had a disabled person who can only eat pureed food and another person who has had bariatric surgery I asked if they could have a child’s meal but was told no as it was there policy. I explained the person who is disabled would only be eating mash potato some soft veg and gravy. Still told no. I even told the staff member they could watch to see how much food would be put on the plate but still told no it's policy. We had to pay £19.95 for the meal below and most of it was left as the veg was too hard. I didn’t think in this day an age, we discriminate against disable people! We will not be visiting again

One of us found a dog hair in the food and we were basically accused of planting it. No apology and it took an hour or more for the manageress to resolve the issue. We ended up not paying anything and thought that was the end of it, until they put a message on the booking site accusing us of being professional scammers!!! We had been there 3 times before on a Sunday and had never had an issue. The customer service is despicable. We were prepared to pay for what we had eaten until the accusations started and the length of time it took to resolve. I even suggested they asked customers to keep dogs on a lead in the bar and to keep the food covered, to stop this happening again but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. Only 2 of us really ate anything, my grandson tried the pasta, but it was hard, my daughter and her friend had chicken tikka but it was like reformed chicken and then their second plate was when they found the hair and everyone was then put off by eating any more food. I am attaching what they have written. I wasn't going to leave a bad review after they didn't charge us but because of the comments they have put I feel I have no choice. This is no way to treat customers!! Will definitely NEVER return which is a shame as until this we had always enjoyed the food but with that type of customer service they do not deserve our custom. Their food isn't cheap so their standards should be much better!!! My reply is there as well but as it was sent to the booking email it didn't send

So, after reading some of the less favourable reviews I was a little apprehensive as we'd driven a long way to visit friends over the weekend and children were hungry. Hubs really wanted to try this place so we gave it a go. Now as a family on a budget this isn't the cheapest at time of writing the prices were £23 each for an adult, 11 50 for the child and under 3yr old was free (thank goodness as she didn't actually eat) we visited on a quite Friday night and I was surprised at how quite it was for the time we were there. The eye watering £6.60 got a cider was a surprise. £4. 50 for a side of chips though they were delicious and a perfect side. The whole meal came up to £76 a bit lush for us as a general rule but this occasion I felt it was worth it in many ways Tommy and Courtney the grill chef and waitress respectively get a special mention as they were wonderful. Tommy was lovely with my girls when they brought food and very chatty as we waited for it to be cooked. Courtney turned the music down for us when my autistic older daughter was getting overloaded (it had been a long day). All your salads and meats were along one wall, grab yourself a bowl and load up, i can't even begin to list the variety of salad /veg options but it was plentiful. I feel you'd be hard pressed to not find at least one thing you liked. Then meats done plain and some seasoned, this again hit. All the requirements for our rather awkward family Take to the 'spice' wall and then to the cook.and wait for delicious food. You can also add planish rice and peas, pasta or noodles once it's cooked. Worth a mention whilst most of the salad can be eaten cold all the meat does need cooking, so if you've little ones factor in about 5 to10 minutes. I can't comment on the 'being rushed' as some people stated at we got there for 6pm and left just after 7pm we were one of two tables and didn't feel rushed at all, I felt if the children hadn't been tired and hubs stuffed to popping we could have lingered. Food was fresh and tasty, staff lovely, and atmosphere was nice. For a treat it was well worth it.

What an amazing experience The most delicious food we've eaten in years Service was way beyond anything I've experienced in my 60 plus years on this planet Our waitress is breathtakingly beautiful on the outside and that same level of beauty exudes from her I wish I'd asked for her name We arrived and I was on the verge of a massive anxiety attack I was in a lot of pain, boiling hot and really couldn't wait to get out of there Our waitress was very empathetic and couldn't do enough to try to make me comfortable Physically and emotionally, she opened a window and got us both drinks She offered to do a take away for us and she literally went through all the options available to us, which was pretty extensive She promised to put our food together herself and get it cooked immediately The level of genuine care and compassion she extended to me very quickly lifted my overwhelming need to run away and before I knew it I felt safe enough to ask my friend to let her know I'd like to stay and eat the food in the restaurant I've never experienced anything like it before The food itself was absolutely delicious, tender and juicy chicken (no mean feat when cooking chicken breast on a bbq We're going back tomorrow for the carvery lunch and I can't wait 😋 I hope she knows what a gifted young woman she is and how much she helped me tonight She totally transformed my night I will strive to pass on the gifts of peace and safety that she blessed me with I know that if I can manage to do just 10% of what she did for me I will have done a good job and hopefully I'll have managed to pass on a little of the gifts I have been blessed with tonight Thank you for changing my life tonight xXx

We visited at 7pm on a Friday night. It was a hot evening and the restaurant was fairly full. The choice of foods to stack up in the dish was great and there was two things that I was impressed with.... firstly, there wasn't buckets of food sitting around for the whole evening going "stale" there were small containers that were filled up regularly and that was the second thing. The meal I chose was then cooked and was delicious. It was very warm in the restaurant. The meal cost £23 + drinks. A good deal.

I visited Jenko's just before Christmas. Being a log cabin it looked great both inside and out. It had a good sized carpark too. The bar was the first area I visited, and to be honest it was far too small and felt extremely cramped. Being such a small room it was a bad idea to let people sit around the bar on stalls, this just made a very cramped room even more cramped! There was only about 2-3ft between the wall and the bar stools! Having people sitting around the bar made ordering drinks difficult too. Luckily, the eating area was much better. A small room contained THREE tables, one table had a range of raw meat, fish and vegetable ingredients that you put into a small stainless steel bowl using tongs. The tips of the tongs were quite small like chop-sticks which made it difficult to pick up some foods. Each tub of ingredients had their own set of tongs too, however there was nothing to stop people using tongs from the seafood tub to pick up meat or something else. Cross contamination could be possible, so this method of eating is not advised if you have allergies. On the second table was a range of herbs, spices and sauces. So you could create a range of different flavours. However, most of the foods you could create with the available ingredients would be curry or chilli based. I could not see anything like creams, yogurt, coconut, or meat stocks on the table. You could certainly create nice tasting food though, even without ANY cooking knowledge! On the third table was three large heated tubs of pasta, rice or noodles. Basically, the idea of Jenkos is to allow customers to choose whatever raw ingredients they want, which will then be cooked by the two chefs on a large cast-iron hotplate. You hand the chef your bowl of ingredients which he tips onto the hotplate, as it cooks it is slowly moved clockwise around the table, with the next customers ingredients being added soon after. Each customers meal is divided by two long pieces of wood. Again, as one customers meal is soon cooked on exactly the same area of the hotplate as the previous meal (due to rotation), cross contamination could be possible. Once your meal reaches the end of the hotplate it is fully cooked and handed back to you on a plate. You can then add either pasta, rice or noodles on the third table. As it was all-you-can-eat when I visited, customers can also go through the same process again, creating something different each time. This was more fun than eating the food!!! So Jenko's is certainly different to most restaurants, and I recommend it. But improvements could be made to make it even better, including customer communication via Facebook or email. I NEVER got ANY replies to several messages. Including BACON in the ingredients would be good too 😉

We attended as a party of 20, 14 adults , 4 children. & 2 infants. It was an important birthday celebration and rare large family get together. We chose Jenkos as we had not been there for a few years and held happy memories. - Sadly, our visit has put us off ever going again. We were incredibly disappointed with the service we recieved. These are our issues.. - Told to "hurry up" after 2 hrs as they needed to the table (It took 20 of us a while to all order our drinks, say hello to eachother and then go up and have food cooked to eat. ) We had not been informed of a 2 hr slot anywhere prior to booking, this would not have been long enough for a party of 20 at Jenkos. - We were not offered drinks at our table so had to go and order at the bar everytime taking up more time - someone in our party had to wait 20 mins to order 2 cocktails- to then be told they would bring them to us! - Staff stood staring at us and talking about our group as we had complained that we were being rushed and made to move, one of our party was still eating her dinner during this point. - We were not offered any deserts before being told to move - We had taken a birthday cake with us that had also not been brought out, we also mentioned this when they were trying to rush us off the table. It was then brought out randomly and without prior warning so some people missed it and we did not have chance to film, take pics or enjoy the moment. - all in all a horrible experience and ruined celebration. - We felt very uncomfortable, rushed and not welcomed. When the manageress was spoken to whilst settling the bill her attitude was frosty and sassy. I dont think she saw anything wrong with anything. We wont be returning.

We had a table reserved for 8 pm hoping to spend a pleasant evening with friends, but as soon as we arrived, the problems started. The restaurant was crowded, and our table wasn't available. The staff asked us to wait in the bar area until they cleared the table, but after 20 minutes and several discussions about the reservation, the manager told us that the people at our table didn't want to leave the premises. From that moment on she was more concerned with sending us home than solving the problem by finding another alternative, mentioning that if we leave she would refund our deposit. Even though she thought that refunding the deposit would solve the problem, it seems she didn't understand that we were there to enjoy an evening with friends and the fact that we had to leave and couldn't make another reservation at another restaurant due to the late hour turned the evening into a disaster. Due to the unprofessional manner and the fact that we were treated disrespectfully, we left the place with a bad impression of the restaurant. The management is a joke. I'm sorry to say this, but no matter how good the food is, I don't think we'll ever come back. Shame on you for the way you chose to treat some clients!

A beautiful gem right on my doorstep! Having lived in Telford for 16 years I’ve only visited Jenkos once, this was during its time as a Brazilian BBQ, and I was blown away by it, however now it is a Mongolian BBQ, once again I was blown away. £22 per person for as much freshly cooked food as you want was mind blowing. You choose your own meat, veg, spices and sauces and let the chef cook it in front of you. Stunning food, attentive staff and friendly atmosphere. The only thing I’d change personally was having to enter through the bar but was still worth every penny!

Been coming here for 15+ years as my wife likes it. Over that time we've seen the price per head steadily increase by 60% - whatever. However the clientele has diminished despite rising prices, and the speed at which your food is cooked has dropped off a cliff edge. Is this an intentional ploy to prevent customers consuming too much? Maybe. Compounding this, staples such as regular chicken and pasta have run out at 7pm on a Saturday night, when the restaurant is at 35% capacity. It doesn't take much to monitor the food levels, does it? I enquired and it appears they've "nipped out" to buy more chicken. I don't care for this, the price doesn't bother me even at a higher price point, sadly undeserved at any price as the fundamentals are missing. Also very dark and hard to see what you're eating. Also, bar area was full of 20 something loutish people seriously inebriated at 6pm when we walked in with kids. Edit: music that's overly loud is 00s RnB full of swearing and racial slurs, i.e. not radio edits. Not ideal with so many kids here.

Sunday carvery was very disappointing, we booked a table for 2pm, the food was just warm at best and dried up. Cauliflower cheese was undercooked, I never complained about food in general and try to find the positives but this has to be the worst carvery we've ever had and not worth the price paid. The waitress did ask if I wanted to see the manger but there was little point as it would not have changed the experience. It was supposed to be a treat for my husband for his birthday. Sorry but we were both underwhelmed.

Jenkos Sunday carvery used to be my favourite but today I left feeling ripped off and angry. Today after 40 minutes (we had just finished eating our first plate of food) a waiter came over and told us that we only had 20 minutes left and then we would have to vacate our table. The waiter had also told the table next to us the same. I checked my booking email and it said we had the table for 12-2pm. At 1pm we were asked to pay our bill. We questioned why we only had the table for an hour and the young waiter said it was a new rule which was brought in a few weeks ago. He said he doesn’t make the rules but he thinks they want as many people “in and out”. Charging £18.95 for a carvery when you only have your table for an hour is daylight robbery and just pure greed!!! Goodness knows what would happen if you wanted a second plateful or a dessert?! Definitely won’t be returning!

Have been going to Jenkos for years for the Sunday roast which is a delicious selection of help yourself meats, veg and all the trimmings. Unfortunately, they seem to have recently adopted a new rule where you have to vacate your table after just ONE HOUR. We had just finished our first plate of food and not even finished our drinks, when a waiter came over to tell us we had 15 minutes left of the table! We wouldn’t have even had time to choose a dessert if we wanted one? Definitely not the place to come to relax and catch up with friends like it once was. We heard the gentleman next to us say he would have gone to McDonalds if he wanted fast food as he was also made to leave his table. Won’t be returning until this awful rule has been revised. Please consider upping to at least 1.5 hours and if not, reduce the cost as £18.95 is expensive for a so called ‘eat as much as you like’ where you’re kicked out after 60 minutes.

Fantastic food, all cooked freshly in front of you. Great atmosphere. Prices are reasonable. Service is very good and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended, but book a table as it can get very busy. We will most definitely be back!

Absolutely wow. Such a little gem of a place. Food was delicious, loved that we could pick it all out ourselves. Staff were polite and genuine. Might be tricky to take children as I know mine would become impaitient. Would definitely recommend for adults though, its been a while since I could say I enjoyed a new place.

First time visit. This place came recommended and I have driven past it for years. The staff were friendly who explained the process, however it was the process that let our experience down a bit. We got up from our table at like 6:05pm and sat back down at 6:30pm with our food. The process is, you go up from your table, grab a silver bowl, fill up your vegetables, then pick your meat, then turn to pick your spices as per the picture attached to make a spice/sauce base. Then you had it to the cooks at the hot plate who pour it on and cook it. you stand and watch whilst it cooks. The problem is, you stand for a good while in this line, they move the food around, right to left and you moved along, level with your food, but standing, literally shoulder to shoulder with other diners, who are not part of your party isn't the best, the space is quite cramped and it all gets a bit much. The cooks don't interact, no flair, conversation or facts, I know they're there to cook the food, but a bit of passion would be good. Once you have your food, you sit down, eat in about 10 minutes and then think, should I join that big line again for a second bowl. In all we spent £22 per person for all you can eat and had 2 bowls each. starting from 6pm to 7:15pm, with very little chance to sit down and interact at the table. More time standing up. Pudding was good, Pavlova and a cheesecake, 5.95 each. Whilst the food was good, we probably won't be back as we just didn't like the experience of standing up more than sitting. I think you do have to try it once as it could be for you! It's definitely not 1 star as others have given for food.

Amazing, fresh ingredients cooked in front of you! Cocktails are AMAZING. Only small downside was I tried the tomato based sort of sauce/seasonings and it wasn't great but that didn't put me off. Had a fantastic time Very attentive staff

Booked a table for a friend's birthday to enjoy the all you can eat carvery. Some of the meat was quite dry from being left out for so long, and the veggies were slightly underdone but other than that the food was lovely. Wait staff were a bit too eager on asking for clear plates and kept asking before food was finished eating.

Absolutely phenomenal. Hands down best food I've had in years. Staff are friendly, helpful and just seem happy to be there. A little dark to begin with but once your eyes adjust the light level, the music and the decor add up to a great atmosphere. Even the pub connected to the restaurant is a perfect local. Normally you go into a local when you are out of town and feel out of place and awkward. The bar staff and even the pub patrons were so welcoming, made me feel like Id been going there for years. The owner and the staff should be proud. Could not recommend the place enough.

Came here on recommendation from a friend and honestly the food is incredible, the atmosphere is great and the staff are super friendly. You pick all the ingredients, spices and sauces that go into your dish which are all fresh and delicious, and you then have a lovely chef (warrior!) cook it for you. Josh was our warrior who was super bubbly and funny, and cooked our food to perfection. The atmosphere is so warm and relaxed and I’d urge you to PLEASE save room for dessert! I got the banoffee cheesecake which was divine. We will definitely be back again!

Didn't really know what to expect but was very pleasantly surprised at what we did get. Great staff, Josh our Warrior chef was very funny and chatty while cooking our food. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty. A great evening out and we will be back, all the staff need a pat on the back as they were all so attentive and polite.

Great atmosphere and attentive staff - make your own food combos - meat - fish - veg spices and sauces - warrior chefs ask if you'd like more sauce near end of cooking which is fab - really tasty - did get busy and you wait while it's being cooked but time flies as you watch. My fave combo was Prawns, Salmon, veg with rice delicious - the beef was so juicy too. By the 3rd bowl (bowls are small) you get used to the flavour combos, and what you like best-loved it will be back

We had been before for the mongolian bbq which was realky good but today we came for the all you can eat sunday lunch and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious with lots of choice. One of the best Sunday lunches i have had in Telford. The atmosphere is really relaxed and the waiter was very attentive. It was so tasty that I took a take out sunday lunch for my son. We will definitely be back again.

Very unique experience. Having the guys bbq your food infront of you and you choose all of the ingredients. It's very similar to teppanyaki stations at buffet restaurants. Once your selection has been cooked you can add either pasta, rice, or noodles. I do think the £22 price for what you get is bordering on too high and there could be more selection of additional food after frying (such as salad options). The restaurant was around 70% full during our visit, and already the time to queue for food and wait for it to cook was a bit onerous. I imagine when it is busy it is quite frustrating. However, it's a great dining experience that you could enjoy in groups or as a couple. the selection of ingredients and spices is wide and tasty; the puddings that we had we also very nice. Staff were polite and helpful, though they could've been more attentive while checking in on tables to check for drink/food orders.

Thought we would try Jenko's Sunday Carvery for a change. The setting is nice in the log cabin dining area. Sad to say, we wont be returning anytime soon though! We were welcomed and shown to our table (Pre-Booked), drinks ordered. Prompt and polite service. We then went up for our carvery (Self Serve). The meat was already sliced and on the hot plate, therefore drying out. Fair selection of veg, but a lot was cooked in a sauce (cheesy) or was oily/buttery, so not really too much on the healthy option. Its fair to say, that we didn't enjoy our meal, the meat was dry and tough and the cutlery provided made it difficult to cut, in fact my wife left most of her beef. Veg was over cooked and too soft to the point that most of it wouldn't stay on the fork. You can go up for food as much as you like, but honestly after the first plate of food, we didn't wish to. Because you can you up as much as you like (eat as much as you want) , it is expensive just for the one plate full. But the quality wasn't there. None of the tables had salt and pepper condiments on them and we had to ask for this. There are much better quality and value carvery's in and around Telford .

I ordered a large takeaway for a gathering of friends with a variety of dishes for a birthday party. The food was prepared on time and everything was delicious. I’ve been eating here for a number of years and never been disappointed Taste of Paradise is far and away my vote for best Indian restaurant in the area.

Lovely food and presentation, but I am a vegetarian and stated this numerous times and made it clear that I don’t eat meat or fish, only to find a piece of chicken in my noodles near the end of my meal. I’ve been wanting to try the food here for years, so was very disappointed. Everyone else enjoyed there’s so it was a shame
