You’ll fall for this curry bao immediately, not only is it the cutest little bun ever but the flavours are deep and intensely yummy. The blackened cod is full of oumami and the curry is so savoury. The slaw gives it some freshness and balances it out well.. Please note I visited the Cafe Bao branch in kings cross but it’s yet to be listed on here. The only downfall this my experience is the size of the bao it’s super small and costs £6.. wish is was larger for that price.

It’s a nice place to come for your steamed buns. I booked a table via the website and telephone (credit card details given where a £10 per head cancellation charge would be met if you didn’t turn up) however when I turned up they did not have it on the system. Apart from that, the food quality was very good, small portions for the price you pay. Friendly waiter and customer service and the place was very busy on the day of visit. Recommend

Tasty food and exceptional service. The staff in this restaurant turned a nice lunch into a perfect lunch. They took time and effort to explain the menu and check we were enjoying the food. The food itself was tasty, my favourite was the mushrooms and my 10 year old son the classic bao. The drinks menu also really interesting the peanut drink was really yummy. The berries a bit too sweet for my palette but still good. Will make a return visit.

The food is good, yet we left with bitter taste because: A.The dishes are small. So each might not be expensive but since you need to order more then usuall, it is more likely to be a $$$ restaurant B. The waitresses urged us several time to order more then we did, pointing out that we will still be hungry after eating what we've ordered. B. The check had already contained the tip in it -12.5%. This is not very common and first time for me. Yet, they did not informed that to us, even when seeing we were adding more than needed to the bill

Have been here on multiple occasions and always enjoy the buzzing atmosphere. The Bao are done nicely and the bone marrow rice dish always goes down nicely. I steer clear of the mains but that’s just preference. Some interesting non alcoholic options too for dry January. I’ll be back! Important to note the seating layout is stools so can’t sit there too long- but 90 mins ample eating time.

The whole meal felt rushed. I could not sit back and relax because the staff kept leaning over me to tick off each course which seemed pointless and evasive. The service was slow, whilst waiting for food I watched the waiters talk in the corner. The young lady working the drinks was great though. When the food came it was overrated for its price.
