Lemongrass in Brentwood

Four of us ate here Saturday night and the food was delicious and so was the service and friendliness of the staff. I had my usual green thai chicken curry (to die for) with Pad Thai noodles. Big bottle of Thai beer to go with it and a lot of chat between us on the table. The weather was awful with torrential rain but it was worth the parking and journey.

Have been coming here for years and never bothered to leave a review, however it is so good it deserves one! Fantastic staff epic food and it’s fast highly recommend

This is my second time i have given a One Star review. So i came to do a review on this place and took a friend along to join me as i was hearing it was a great place to eat Thai food. I am going to keep this short and to the point. Went for lunch and there was only one other couple there. Ordered Bottle of New Zealand white to have a bottle of cheap white wine and when i said this is not the New Zealand white i ordered the waiter said thats sll we got. Asked the waiter for food suggestions which he could not recommend anything. We had four dishes and every dish came out warm and very fast i will say no more. Asked for fresh chillis and was presented with sweet chilli sauce. Not once did the waiter come over to see how the food was but sat watching somthing on his laptop Very very disappointed with this place after reading the great reviews.

I was very impressed with the level of service. We were offered a taste of 2 different wines before we made a choice. While there was no separate gluten free menu, the staff could not have been more helpful in assisting me in making choices. Then the food arrived and it was lovely.

Lovely restaurant in Brentwood. Nice side and quiet inside. Always a good service with attentive waiters/waitresses. Food selection is good and tasty. Would recommend.

We went for Dinner yesterday and the food was amazing. Super friendly staff, beautiful atmosphere and great quick service. We had a starter sharing platter for two which was tasty and which gave us the opportunity to taste a bit of everything. Then the prawn fried rice was amazing too. Will definitely recommend and go back

Lovely food and a nice atmosphere. Restaurant is nicely decorated and the food is consistently good. The Massaman curry is especially tasty but the pad thai is also good. The jungle curry is tasty but could be slightly spicier. The house red wine is lovely, and great value for money and the restaurant has a nice ambience!

We hadn’t visited the Lemongrass since pre Covid and thought be nice to return for a birthday meal. We visited on a Sunday evening and it was almost empty except for us and another table. The service was excellent and the choice was fair , but I thought it was a little on the expensive side . We opted for the set menus . The food was tasty and very enjoyable but the portions were a little small Overall ok , but I think we’ll stick with the Giggling Squid and not as good as our previous visit .

We found this restaurant online while stopping in the local area, a quick phone call and we were able to book a table for within the hour on a fairly busy Saturday night. Food was very good and tasty with excellent service from the friendly staff.

I regularly eat here and it never disappoints. You can choose anything off the menu that you like and they always deliver on taste. Its my daughters favourite restaurant!

Walked in on a rainy evening, parked at the back but walked round the front. The staff were helpful and our order arrived within a reasonable time. Our order was tasty and the staff constantly asked whether we needed anything, I would consider returning.

Lovely lunch here today, excellent choice of set menus and main menu items, all freshly cooked and served with a smile by Lemongrass's friendly and polite staff. Tables sanitised, staff wearing masks, hand sanitiser available.

Visited during the eat out to help out scheme, the food was the best O have had in the area, all cooked perfectly and great service. Desert was especially good. Unfortunately they added a tip on to the bill and info that you had to ask to have it removed. It puts people on the spot and they should really be able to choose wether to add a service charge and how much. Of you are calculating how much the meal is and another ten percent is added on it can be quite alot

The consistency of the food served here is outstanding. I have ordered a large variety of items from the menu and every one has been sublime. The restaurant is lovely, the takeaway service is also amazing. You can guarantee restaurant quality food at home. Always recommend to friends whenever a takeaway is mentioned.

This place came recommended so booked in here for my birthday meal.Wish we hadn't bothered, food was greasy and tasteless and on our table literally 5 minutes after ordering so obviously not fresh. Feel a bit like the end of my birthday has been ruined somewhat.

We went here for my wife's birthday, the service was great and they didn't make a fuss when nearly half our party were late. Had the lamb shank masaman and it was one of the best things I've eaten outside of a Michelin star restaurant.

Had heard v good reports and we were not disappointed. Service was v good for such a large group and food was served promptly. All food v tasty . Chicken Panang curry was lovely. Not a large place with I guess 40 covers at most. Well worth the visit and we will return.

Introduced seven new customers to my favourite restaurant this evening. All were complimentary. My own choice of main course was rather disappointing since, although tasty, was sparse on duck. Others had beef steak and were better provided.

Went on a Sunday evening to meet friends it wasn't very busy. Staff polite and helpful in recommendations from menu.For starters I had satay chicken which could have been warmer in temperature. The main a chilli chicken dish was delicious.They close early on Sunday and we were asked if we wanted anything else as kitchen was closing around 9pm.Would return perhaps on a Saturday nite.

I have been to Thailand several times ,food is not authentic Thai food Food was too sweet and seems that the meat was pre cook and sauce add on top .All sauce on different dishes taste the same

Vanavond met mijn zoon en vriend uitstekend gegeten. Ik had Vega gegeten:Vega sateh en pad king met groenten, huisgemaakte cake. Van de eerste hap tot de laatste hap genoten. De bediening was aardig maar wat gehaast met het afruimen van de tafel. We kregen het idee dat wij vooral moesten opschieten terwijl wij maar 1 1/2 uur daar zaten. Op gegeven moment was de tafel helemaal opgeruimd. Wij vonden dat erg jammer. Uit eten betekent voor ons de tijd nemen er rustig van genieten en ook nagenieten. Daar hoort niet haasten bij. Dus daar zit wat ons betreft een verbeterpunt.

This is without doubt the very best Thai in Brentwood (of which there are three). We can highly recommend booking as it gets rammed. In terms of dishes we recommend the Fish Cakes, Salt & Chilli Squid, Soft Shell Crab and any curry. The Musaman Curry has to be the very best the we've tried. The only disappointment on the food front is a poor (sweet!) papaya salad. Our only gripe with this restaurant is the guaranteed frosty reception from the manager (owner?). He tends to treat arrivals as if they are lucky to be there and lucky to get a table. We always have to tell ourselves and our friends to try overlook him and laugh about it, but it happens every time we go in (even if we book). This is a shame as the food and the remainder of the staff are incredible so don't let it spoil what is the best Thai for miles.

I've had several take aways and meals here but have never written a review! The food is the best Thai in Brentwood by far. I've never had bad service in here even when it's been really busy. The staff are helpful and informative of the menu. My friend and I were advised against ordering a paricilar set menu once as they said it was too large for two people! I like the fact they don't like to waste peoples money and good food! The Sea Bass is absolutely delicious as is everything else I've ordered here. Always book or you'll queue for a while!

Ordered via deliveroo...incomplete order arrived...restaurant stated that they no longer sold the item advertised and accepted for order..refused to help..evasive and dismissive..buyers beware

Having ordered though deliveroo. 1item was missing from our Order which was very disappointing but I know this can happen when busy but I did not expect when contacting lemongrass to be told we don’t do this food no more so tough luck and no refund or replacement bad management what ever be using them again

I would highly recommend the LemonGrass - owned and run by Thai..the food is good, authentic and the service friendly - pay a visit to support this local restaurant !

My sister in law who is from Thailand asked me to join her for lunch and she brought me here; I’m so glad that she did. We enjoyed the tapas lunch menu which was very tasty and extremely reasonable. My sister in law obviously knows more about Thai cuisine than me; she cooks and serves it in her own pub and she was very impressed with the food. Excellent service too, highly recommended.

The customer service was great, I liked how they made me feel welcomed but the food is just crappy. On top of disastrous food it is also extremely expensive. Doesn't seem like authentic dishes.

We went to Lemongrass this evening for our daughter’s birthday at her request as she loves this restaurant, and, being a Sunday, were seated easily at about 20.15. There were a handful of other customers at other tables.

Highly recommend the service was fantastic and they were very helpful and accommodating. The mixed started suited the children. The menu explains all and the food was fantastic.

I would have said thai is not my thing, but now i am a big fan of this place. Had fantastic duck spring rolls to start (two big ones cut in half)..lots of lovely shredded lean duck and veg with great sauce. Hubby had veg tempura and lots of it. We both then had chicken pad thai and that was really tasty and fresh..not sloppy or too greasy. Very polite and attentive staff

Been here on a few occasions now and have never been disappointed. The food is extremely good. Mixed platter for starters I would recommend, wonderful Penang curry and Massaman curry, tastes very authentic. Would also recommend the Phad Si-ew and Phad Thai. My children also enjoy the food here. Service is great too and food is always very hot and fresh.

Wow, just popped in for a quick lunch. Restaurant immaculate, staff friendly, food arrived quickly and wow what a great feast for £11. Chose T5 from the lunch set menu. Tempura prawns, beef with ginger, prawn green curry. Fantastic, faultless, right amount of spice. My new favourite place in the world.

Accommodating as ever, good as good as any other visit and no rushing. A late booking and we had a lovely meal from the set menu. I usually visit for the lunch menu and this was only my second visit on the evening menu and was thoroughly enjoyed

Had a banging duck curry here last night. In my opinion, this place has better food and value for money than other nearby Thai restaurants.

I went with my parents and had the vegetarian Thai curry with rice. It was absolutely excellent. My dad had the massiman lamb curry which was also excellent. The servers were helpful and friendly and the food arrived promptly. Highly recommended.

I've been here a few times and the food never disappoints. We've tried several different starters and mains and they've all been delicious. They're really helpful with the menu too if you're not sure what to order and they don't encourage you to over order either, which is good! Lovely restaurant would highly recommend it.

I visit Brentwood often and this place is always must. They never fail to impress. Their panang curry and chicken satays is literally to die for, my friends also couldnt believe how amazing and fresh the food was. Hubby and I are coming back for Valentine's day. All 5 of us were not disappointed at all. Love this place.

The second time we’ve eaten here. Had great food both times, but told to leave as they had to close!! Also toilet seat hanging off in the ladies, the surroundings which were not very pleasant anyway! Such a shame, but don’t think I’d go back again. Felt rushed on both occasions, and just wanted a relaxed atmosphere to catch up with friends who we hadn’t seen in a while, and we were continuously interrupted !!

I had dinner at Lemongrass with an old friend just before Christmas and I was very impressed with the food and service. Wine was good too! Not too expensive so I thought it was good value.

I first went this restaurant 1 year ago. I have been on over 10 occasions since, I have recommended it to several people, I won't be doing that again. A total disaster , Sunday night meal with my the Mrs and my mate, £120 between us, food was ok ( not as nice as normal). Came warm rather than hot, we were all still hungry after, a complete rip off and the total opposite to what we were used too. How do 3 people sharing a set meal ( for 3) at £35 a person expext to share a dish containing 4 prawns? What's that? Just over 1 each? It was the same with every dish really, Truely unacceptable and a terrible shame that this restaurant has chosen to go down that route. I suspect it's because the owner was around ! I think if you order beer, wine and shots on a Sunday night you'll be happy but if not the owner clearly has an issue with it. I hated writing this review as I've had good experiences here but when the owners floating about , AVOID!! We certainly won't be back!!

We have been to Lemon Grass many times before and the food is always great. My husband visits often and has left a good review on tripadvisor. However, on this occasion we were extremely disappointed. I ordered tap water as I can’t drink fizzy drinks. The owner tried to up sell me to mineral water but I said no. We ordered two cokes a soup and three set menus. We were very disappointed when we saw the portions of the main meals. We had three mouthfuls each of each dish as there was hardly any food in the bowls. Even the noodles were scarce! We felt that we were given small portions because we didn’t spend a lot on drinks (which we normally would but this was a Sunday evening and we had work the next day). This has never happend before and left feeling hungry and angry! Such a shame as we really like it here and have recommended it to many people. Next time we will consider going elsewhere!

Dropped in for lunch with the Mrs today. First time I’ve been then and I was very impressed. Staff were very friendly and the food was great. Very well priced as well. Would recommend.

Been the second time ,the food was as good as the first time . But for this kind of food complete overpriced.

I was previously generous about Lemongrass but sad to say it’s nowhere near as good as it used to be. Food arrived fast enough ... but there was hardly any of it and it was just like a.n.other takeaway (therefore waaaaay too pricey) ... we ordered exactly the same as we have in the restaurant (which more than filled us up!) but this time we were both very hungry when we finished. Hopefully things will revert to how they were but something tells me this place might have had its day ...

A few of the family and I went out to celebrate going back home to Thailand however were left dissatisfied. We had to leave before 9pm as they had another table booked which is fair enough. None of the food was good. There was a service charge added on the bill which we only part paid as the food was tasteless. The same sauce was used to make two of the meals which shouldn’t have the same sauce. The service was quite good however. Food really let the place down. Service 4* food 0* so overall 2*. Expected much better from this place.

Visited this restaurant again following a couple of previous visits. It was extremely busy but the service was great and the food was lovely.Always a good lively atmosphere.

Fast food from a chain rushed us out even thou the place was half empty , my jungle curry had 3 chunks of chinken in .the Mrs starter she liked ,dim sum .but the rest was massively average , no offer of crackers or water seemed to feel like they wanted us out ,even thou they had 2 hammerd people sat next to swearing there heads off at 9 o clock .too expensive for a Thai , better ones around

Third visit here, have now moved to Maldon but drove back to eat here as we had had two previous excellent meals, won’t bother again. Waited quite a while to order our drinks and then the food, my friend starters came up a while before ours so we told them to start. My husband and I ordered a set meal, starters were very nice, it’s was the main meal that let it down, the portions were small, the curry normally comes in a bowl but was in a flat dish and there was hardly any chicken, the beef was tough and the Phad Thai (which is my favourite dish) was the worst I have ever had. A real shame, we have been recommending Lemon Grass a lot but after last night wouldn’t bother again, not sure if they have changed their chefs or management but all in all was a bit of a let down, shame really.

We just moved into the area and decided to try LEMONGRASS BRENTWOOD. We spent £50 on a take away and every dish was bland, especially the Pad Thai, it hardly contained any vegetables and it lacked that sweet tangy tamarind flavour.

I have been searching for a good Thai Restaurant for a while now and am very pleased to announce we have finally found the Lemongrass . I had no idea what to expect but as soon as we arrived on Friday we where greeted by happy smiling staff, a full restaurant and a good sense of atmosphere I just knew we would have a fab evening . We where a table of eight so maybe a little noisy for couples sitting nearby - apologises for this . The staff where amazing , very attentive and helpful never rude as some reviews have said . We ordered the full works , the food was amazing and no complaints ... although there was no Expresso Martinis on the menu ... . Everyone left the restaurant saying what a fab restaurant ... although some of us are not local we can’t wait to return ..

Do Not Order Takeawy From here!

We visited here last week for a little date night, I would highly recommend.

First time here, and it was very pleasant. Plenty of choice including many vegetarian dishes, service was not great but the food made up for it!

Had the set menu as a takeaway last night. It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time and by far the best takeaway. Really tasty and authentic. Will be booking to eat in the restaurant soon too as even the brief service as I collected the food was top class.

I love Thai food - fresh and "zingy". I always leave a good Thai restaurant happy and smiling. Lemongrass was one of those places.

First visit to Lemongrass and unlikely to be our last. Small restaurant and very busy.
