We had a fabulous take away meal from here the other week whilst house sitting for friends in Dumfries. The meal was delivered hot and in the time they suggested it would be. Their chilli beef was hot and savoury, and there was so much food we had enough leftover for a 2nd meal.

Loved this place, but the munchie box is now terrible. The chips are soggy, defo not salt and pepper everything is bland. need the sauce to add any flavor. Definitely going downhill. Will be looking elsewhere from now on
Party of 8 visited today for breakfast. The owner couldn't have been more helpful and the breakfast rolls were excellent. Great value for money and we all enjoyed the chat!
Muy inusual estilo de tomar té por la tarde, pero lo disfrutamos todos el mismo! Un total idea mágica para recorrer los principales lugares de interés de Edimburgo desde la comodidad de un asiento con té y tarta y una copa de Prosecco! !
We have been here many times and have always enjoyed the food and service. We had 2 plates of soup and bread which we enjoyed. The bill was £1.40 more expensive than the cost of the soup.We were told this was for the water.I said you charge for CV old tap water and was told the water is free it's the serving of the water they are charging for.
This charge is ridiculous and nowhere else I have been charge for tap water.I may have missed the mention of a service charge on the menu however surely the customer should decide whether to tip or not for good service.
I see there has been a previous review for charging for hot water which I understand but disappointed in this establishment for our charge. Not keen to return now.
Came here for dinner and the food was excellent as always and the owners are very friendly and welcoming would definitely recommend to visitors when they stay in Jedburgh
We stayed here for three nights we had breakfast and evening meal, cannot not fault the menu plenty to choose from, staff very friendly and helpful, David was a brilliant host. We would highly recommend a stay at this hotel.
We visited on a Sunday so the main shop was closed, but we had coffee, cake and a Salmon bagel from the caravan. Everything was delicious and the ladies running it all were very helpful and friendly.
After visiting the Elgol shop (which is attached to the village hall) numerous times over the years and enjoyed excellent coffee and cakes we were disappointed to find it's all changed and is now called the Elgol Cafe and is under new management. It's early days as they've only just opened, but we weren't impressed. The cake was nice, but the coffee and service need improvement. Walkers and campers on the Skye Trail should note that basic provisions are no longer sold in the shop. We were pleased to find the Creel van down at Elgol pier is still there and sells the magnificent Elgolian rolls.
We had a lovely trip out to this garden centre today. Beautifully laid out with a great choice of plants. What prompted me to come here and leave a review was the truly excellent staff in the coffee shop. One lady in particular was so warm and welcoming. She obviously has a great rapport with her cafe colleagues too and together they create a fantastic atmosphere to enjoy your treats! Well done folks- you deserve all the acknowledgements and rewards that hopefully come your way. Keep up the high standards!
We visited Swagath today for dinner, with our friends who came from England. Everyone was very impressed with the food, and ambience. Host is absolutely lovely. Jackfruit curry was delicious, and most try for vegetarian option. We will return again.
We came on a Saturday evening and booked ahead. Out table was not ready when we arrived and the waitresses seemed uninterested. Before we eventually caught a waitresses eye to let her know we had arrived she shrugged and said ' I dunno' and then proceeded to ask another waitress who went ' oh yeah' and told us to follow her to table. She just plonked two menus down onto a table with two places set for us and carried on walking to the kitchen. No engagement, nothing!!
It went from bad to worse service wise I'm afraid. It seemed like the two waitresses who were on duty were a little bit overwhelmed and maybe having a tough shift ... But still!
We waited an hour and 15 minutes for our mains, however, we were deep in conversation and enjoying each others company so didn't mind that too much l. I prefer to wait rather than food before rushed out. The food was lovely, freshly cooked and tasty.
No complaints with the food - just the service, which left a lot to be desired.
I hope you can rectify this, as this is the only thing in my opinion that lets the place down, as the other businesses in this area have shown us exceptional customer service during our stay in Arbroath.
