We came on a Saturday evening and booked ahead. Out table was not ready when we arrived and the waitresses seemed uninterested. Before we eventually caught a waitresses eye to let her know we had arrived she shrugged and said ' I dunno' and then proceeded to ask another waitress who went ' oh yeah' and told us to follow her to table. She just plonked two menus down onto a table with two places set for us and carried on walking to the kitchen. No engagement, nothing!! It went from bad to worse service wise I'm afraid. It seemed like the two waitresses who were on duty were a little bit overwhelmed and maybe having a tough shift ... But still! We waited an hour and 15 minutes for our mains, however, we were deep in conversation and enjoying each others company so didn't mind that too much l. I prefer to wait rather than food before rushed out. The food was lovely, freshly cooked and tasty. No complaints with the food - just the service, which left a lot to be desired. I hope you can rectify this, as this is the only thing in my opinion that lets the place down, as the other businesses in this area have shown us exceptional customer service during our stay in Arbroath.

Had been looking forward to my visit made specifically to try this place out. Noone else in except the numerous staff all talking away happily to each other. After looking at menu which looked fabulous I went up to order as none of staff looked vaguely interested in taking my order. No sit down we will come to you. I sat and waited and the place started to fill. 3 other tables came in and someone came from behind the counter to clear dirty dishes that had been on a table when I went in. Finally someone came to serve me and I commented on my wait to which I was given a story about the coffee machine not working which was why staff were chatting. Hmmmmn really. Then as of course luck would have it they were out of the very thing I was there to have. I will give them another chance another day as the menu was interesting but the service was shockingly bad especially if they then are having to tell people no coffee! Zero recognition of interaction with customers and I speak as someone with a long hospitality career. Great location great menu but lacking in customer connection.

We like this cafe very much and have been here several times. On his occasion we were here for a casual lunch. The soup was excellent as was the jacket potato. There is a wide choice of casual dishes for lunch. They also do good breakfasts. It is right in the centre of kingussie and an ideal stop for drinks or food. Service is very friendly and efficient.

Thought I'd give this take away a go as it's more convenient when picking up people from station. Went with my standard "special chow main". I can't say taste was bad as it had none. No flavour at all. Also everything was pink, not raw...pink from some colouring. No idea what that was about. Also ordered large spring roll. My usual (less convenient for station) take away supply's 2 large, well flavoured, but this was one, medium, pretty bland. Maybe I was just unlucky but won't be back and I'll put up with the extra drive round towards B&Q to my usual one.

Came across this little cafe while stopping after a work meeting and so glad we did! Such great value for a large roll with filling of choice and was enchanted to be served tea in a real China teacup and saucer! Friendly service too thank you will definitely return when in the area!

The SWI had our Christmas Meal here this year and pre ordered. I had the turkey and trimmings which was served on a huge platter and three huge slices of turkey. Everything cooked to perfection. I took the apple strudel and ice cream - great ice cream. Everyone enjoyed what they had ordered and a lovely atmosphere, and attentive serving staff who were pleased to see us and cheery.

Went for afternoon tea to celebrate a birthday. Service was very good and friendly and afternoon tea was fairly standard stuff. Good selection and tasty. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco and only when we got our bill did we realise that we had been given the most expensive bottle (£39!) and not the standard house bottle. With a difference in cost of £10 we were very annoyed that we had not been asked if we would like the dearer one but just given it. We assumed we would have been served the house Prosecco and not the most expensive one. When challenged the very friendly server soon changed their attitude and said this was the house one! We paid our bill and left and we will not be back. This left a very sour taste in the mouth and was extremely disappointing from this venue.

We had an excellent lunch yesterday at a more than reasonable price. Two of us had the meal deal and the other a wrap but it was a difficult choice as everything looked so good and fresh. The meal deal included a delicious bowl of soup, bread roll, piece of fruit and a hot drink. A little off the main town as it is on the lower floor of the Toll Clock Shopping Centre but well worth the effort. We were served by lovely staff and a good chat with one the owners. Would highly recommend.
