Excellent Indian meal and our favourite restaurant in Buckie. Good traditional Indian food and freshly cooked. Very reasonable and good value. Highly recommended to visit.

Took my girlfriend to Akash Tandoori in Buckie. My girlfriend and I ordered starters of chicken pakora. One of the chicken pieces looked like a fried frog in batter . Sadly my girlfriend ate this piece , she has had severe food poisoning from this . Indian owners of Akash YOU CANNOT SELL FROGS . Our main meal was chicken bhunna , the chicken serving was poor , 3 pieces of chicken each , cold rice served. Fully unprofessional, My girlfriend is still in bed severely ill with her own GP doctor visiting her. WARNING to anyone thinking of eating there. Our advice is dont

A popular local Indian restaurant and takeaway Food quality is good and service efficient No alcohol license but BYOB in operation

We have recently mived to Buckie and whilst our friend is up visiting we decided to book and give it a go ! It was excellent value and portions were generous. A warm welcome was our greeting upon arrival. The food was exceptional and well presented. This was our first visit to the Akash and certainly won't be our last ! Thank Q a lovely night.

We had home delivery lastnight meal was excellent. Will certainly be having a meal in the restaurant and byob even better.

Phone your order in and it is all going on but do not walk in off the street for a takeaway. You will be there all night. Seems they now prioritise phone orders above people who take the time to personally go there. Not for me

Excellent tasty food .... excellent friendly service .... okay if you want alcohol you have to bring your own but staff accommodate this with no problem whatsoever... really worth a visit ( the onion bhajis are delicious! )

Lovely tasty meal, friendly and attentive staff... only down side is it’s not licenced BUT they have no problem with you bringing your own wine. Lovely experience!

No longer called the akash and its under new management we,well my wife won a competition and the prize was a bog off, buy one get one free so off we trott to the restaurant, we were greeted and seated placed our order and a great time food was excellent, my wife is very fussy when it comes to curries, she can be a right pain in the bum, hey but to my surprise she cleared her plate so we had a great time staff were nice and polite the new owner made himself available for a chat told us of his plans and about his staff ie were they came from and how and why he chose them and it's going from strength to strength oh and it's now called Panache, great food great service and the right ambiance

My walking buddy and I ate here on the recommendation of our B&B hosts, while staying in Buckie while walking the Moray Coast Trail. After a 17 mile walk from Lossiemouth, we were pretty hungry.The decor is fairly basic but the staff were friendly and efficient and service was speedy and professional. There is no alcohol licence but all the better as you are allowed to bring in your own wine from the Co-op, the Akash provides wineglasses and doesn't charge any corkage. I can't remember exactly what we had but we shared a chicken dish and a lamb and spinach dish, along with raita and a chapati and everything was excellent, beautifully cooked with tender meat and deep spicing and flavouring. The bill, when it came, seemed incredibly cheap for what we'd had and was really excellent value.We had a nice chat with the owner on the way out and he told us he'd been operating in Buckie for 28 years, which I guess goes to show how popular his restaurant must be with the locals, and rightly so. Would certainly recommend it if you are in Buckie and in the mood for an Indian.

Read the reviews so decided to try a carryout from this Tandoori restaurant, friendly staff, seating are for those ordering take away separated by a partition for customers eating in restaurant. A great choice of menu so we opted for Chicken Shaslik and Goan Curry with fried rice this was accompanied with 2 poppadum's and 2 delicious sauces.The portions were generous and food piping hot. This is obviously a very popular Tandoori as whilst we waited several locals came in to eat plus the phone rang many times for orders. We waited roughly 20 minutes for our order and were delighted with the quality and taste so we hope to pay a return visit in the near future and enjoy a sit down meal in the restaurant. These premises do not have a licence so you may bring your own drinks along. Enjoy.

Went here with friends for a Christmas get together, never liked Indian food and the staff member recommended what to have and even added in cheese to the dish for me as an extra, lovely meal and we got to TYOB. Was a really good price as well.

Fantastic food and plenty of it. Not too long to wait for either. Deliveries at a cost are available also. The kabab pizza and Kashmirie Korma are our favorites...

Had takeaway curry. First class as always. Got it delivered it was late by 15 mins but the weather outside was appalling. Definitely use again and recommend .

Had a lovely meal out with my hubby. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, without being overbearing. There is no alcohol licence, but we brought our own bottle of wine, which they are happy for you to do, and they supplied glasses for us. The food was superb, and extremely good value. Die hausgemachten Brotspezialitäten wie Naan sind ebenfalls empfehlenswert. Preiswert. Achtung: das Restaurant besitzt keine Lizenz zum Alkohoausschank, wer also Wein oder Bier trinken möchte, kann die eigene Flasche mitbringen!

Excellent curry at this super little restaurant. Efficient friendly service with a smile. Nice and clean. Would definitely recommend for a sit in or take out.

Went for the first time last week - excellent food - good varied menu. Food was piping hot and service was excellent. A smaller restaurant, but nice atmosphere. They have a table license so take your own wine etc!

Diesen Inder kann ich sehr empfehlen auch für Veganer und wenn man Laktose Intolerant ist. Vorsicht es wird sehr scharf gekocht, wenn man es nicht möchte dann einfach sagen, der Koch ist sehr flexibel.

Got a takeaway from here and it was top class!! I am very fussy about my Indian food and am very often disappointed. Not this time!!! Chicken pakora was one of the best I have had and we played it safe with a chicken dopiaza which was good and had a really nice depth of flavour. Not sure when I’ll be back in Buckie but when I am this will be first place I go!!

If this restaurant was in a larger town you might need to reserve a table; the food was very good. We chose vegetarian and fish dishes, both medium hot flavour and both very tasty. We also had a garlic naan and scented pilau rice. Every dish was tasty, piping hot and sufficient.

Had my first takeaway this evening. Vegetarian curries absolutely gorgeous as were the rice, Bhaji and naan. Good size portions and great value on price. I live in the South 600 miles from this restaurant...Shame!

Beautiful meal, The Dansak is the best with a hint of lime and not too sweet. My partner had the tandoori mixed grill and said it was the best in taste and texture he has eaten. We will recommend to others and will be back.

Very friendly, small restaurant. I was warmly welcomed, my coat hung up for me and I was offered a selection of glasses for my drink. The menu is extensive, it was hard to choose! Ingredients are clearly explained on the menu as is the degree of heat you can expect. Food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. Good value for money; I will definitely be back for takeaway and for another sit-in meal.

The restaurant has no drinks license but you are welcome to bring your own beer or wine. We had an excellent meal with good service.

We went to Akash with no great expectations. From the outside it looks smart enough, but not a big place. Its menu does offer some choices outside the standard which was a good signWe were really quite impressed given appearances and where we were. J had prawn palak with a naan and I had veg shakuri (flavoured with lemon and lime leaves and creamed coconut) and we had an aubergine side. Our impression of all the dishes was that they were freshly cooked with good ingredients and a very good balance and tasty with it, and the portion sizes were generous, so we ended up eating too much just because it was so nicely done. As another reviewer said, it's not great but we were very happy to have gone there and if we were staying in the area for longer we'd go back. This is despite its unassuming character apparently better than the straight-up curry places we have at home.

I received vouchers as a gift and opted for a takeaway. We were not disappointed the food was really delicious with perfect portion size. Wish we had tried eating here before. Will definitely be back!

Visited early Friday night two couples,very good service the place is spotless and the ambience was fine could do with some more decor and more atmospheric musicstarted with popadoms and pickles then two person platter then on to starters I would have liked to have ride it again before fully commenting but have come 300 miles to visit the area.I would certainly return as everything was very good and priced just right.This premises is not licensed but you can take your own.

This is a good, though not great, restaurant in Buckie. The service and our waitress was great. The food, not quite up to the standards of the service. The poppadom and naan were good, but our main dishes--I had chicken jalfreezi--lacked punch, kind of bland. It's a fairly new restaurant, I think, so the food will likely improve.

Mix kebab starter very nice. Spicy Chili chicken very tasty however fried rice disappointing. Clean throughout, no drinks license however fast service

Had a fantastic evening meal here while in the area for business. The food was cooked to perfection and the portions were plentiful. The staff were friendly and attentive making sure everything was to my pleasing. Will be back in the future.

My wife and I enjoyed an excellent yet economically priced meal at this great little eaterie. The waitress were lovely and attentive without being bothersome. I can highly recommend the restaurant for good quality Indian cuisine which won't put too much of a strain on your wallet.! I recommend booking a table though as it fills up quickly, we'll be back !

OMG the food at the Akash is amazing, best I've ever tasted. We all had a different main course and they were all out of this world. The service was excellent - we forgot to take a bottle opener, they gave us one, how's that for service and with a smile, you don't often get that.Everything was super clean, I am a bit picky about cleanliness but I could find no faults and I mean no faults, table linen, cutlery, toilets all spotless. 10 out of 10 for our dining experience at the Akash, many thanks for a great night xx

Visited Akash Tandoori on a cold Saturday night without booking and was met by a warm welcome. The food was delicious and served piping hot with very generous portion sizes but the highlight of our experience at the Akash was the service. The young girls were polite, friendly and attentive, without being too imposing. We cannot fault this restaurant in any way and can highly recommend. Bring your own bottle if you want alcohol with your food.

Nipped down to Akash in Buckie for a takeaway this eve as we had not had one in a few months. When we go, we usually sit in but time a bit tight this eve. As usual, everything was fantastic. The Lamb Shatkora is one of the best curries I have ever had, along with Sagg Paneer and Vegetable Pakora, washed down with a Cobra or 2. We will be in for a sit down meal in the near future. I would advise anyone to give Akash a shot if in Buckie, you won't be disappointed!!Cheers guys!

In Buckie for family reasons. We are used to restaurants with alcohol licences. Brought our own wine in and were offered glasses right away. Staff were polite and efficient but not at all pushy. We placed our order and the food arrived with no delay between courses. The food was good quality and well cooked. The only criticism is that the portions are large, if you can call that a criticism. Good value for money

Had lunch in here last week ,although we were the only ones in ,which often isn't a good sign, service and food was exceptional. Will definitely be eating here again!

I've been here several times now when working in the area. I've been with my husband and by myself. Each time I've been made to feel very welcome. Staff are attentive but not "interfering" with your privacy. I've had a vegetable korma, vegetable ballot, onion baghjees (please excuse spelling!),popadoms, pakoras - and each and every mouthful was a tastebud delight. I hasten to add that I didn't eat all this on the same visit!!! It really was a good meal at an excellent price.I've also had a takeaway from here and they opened up 1/2 hour early to serve me when they saw me standing outside in the rain - what great customer service!!

Restaurant is very clean, staff friendly and food excellent. We have tried other Indian restaurants in the area, but this is by far the best. When visiting Buckie we now make a point of having at least one meal here.The quality, taste and portion sizes were very good. As others have said they do not have a drinks licence, but they allow you to take your own alcohol.

I love this restaurant, the food is A1 and the service is excellent. No drinks licence so bring your own, they don't even charge corkage and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. You won't be disapointed

The food is excellent in this restaurant. We have eaten in the restaurant and also have had carryouts. The food is always served well presented, staff are very pleasant and carryouts are of the same quality. There is only soft drinks served but you can take your own wine/beer etc. Highly recommend going for a meal.

Always enjoy the Akash. friendly and helpful people. No licence for alcohol sales, but tell you to bring along your own. This just adds more reason to visit as it works out to be very economical for a great night out and great food.

We found the food was well cooked but we also had some issues.Menu helpfully shows meals as Hot, Medium and Mild but we found the Hot was barely Medium and the Medium was Mild. Portions of Rice are served in the small, square fol trays which we found were barely adequate for the size of the curry. The Tandoori Mix Grill was also very small for the price charged and even the Nan Bread was small. The heat or spiciness of the food is a matter of personal taste but I feel that, for the prices charged, the portions could be larger. Prices for curries do not include Rice or Nan which are extra.I recommend the food but would not return unless prices were reduced or portions enlarged.

Tried this place a couple of times in the past month. Both occasions have been fantastic. Korma is exactly the way a korma should be and my king prawn bhuna has the perfect amount of heat. We will be using this place regularly from now on.

We visited on a Saturday night. Restaurant was half full when we were there and they were busy with takeaway business too.We had poppadums, a starter and main each and shared rice and a naan.The pakora and sheekh kebab starters were well cooked and plentiful. My chicken bhuna lacked a little in flavour but my wife's Shatkora dish was very good. Excellent pilau rice and naan bread. I had a pint of Cobra and Mad had a soft drink so the £42 bill was a bit pricey to my mind. Good food tho.

Ten of us had a wonderful meal for my daughters 16th birthday. Service was first class, food delicious and surroundings warm and inviting. This is our favourite restaurant in Buckie and we regularly eat here. Consistently excellent

Four of us went on a quiet Monday evening, we didn't realise it was a BYO but after a quick trip down to the Coop we were sorted out with lagers which the waiter very kindly offered to keep cool I'm his fridge for us, nice touch. Everyone's starters were excellent & all the mains were as good as it gets. We loved their Peshwari nan & the ginger rice was exceptional. We live near Manchester & frequently visit "curry mile" but we thought this place beat them hands down. I would not hesitate to recommend this clean & friendly Indian restaurant to everyone.

The overall ambience of the restaurant was extremely pleasant with beautiful, modern decor and the staff who worked there were very friendly and catered to our needs well. The food arrived promptly, was full of flavour and was clearly prepared to a high standard. The management team were also friendly and ensured that we were taken care of well. I would highly recommend eating out at Akash Tandoori!

We had our sons birthday meal at Akash and the food was lovely as always. There was 8 of us and we all enjoyed the dishes we had and the service was fast but never rushed. We normally have a takeaway and they are as good.

There as a party of 9. Service was very good, prompt and friendly. Choice of food is excellent and all very tasty. Thoroughly recommended.

I have been to Akash on many occasions and can honestly say it is the best Indian restaurant I have been to. The service is excellent-very polite and attentive. No request is a problem. The food is to die for! Seriously, highly recommended :)

Whilst visiting the area we enjoyed an excellent meal. Everything was freshly prepared and tasted fantastic. Added to this was excellent service. Well worth a visit.

Nice little restaurant, small capacity, so intimate atmosphere, but it is never very busy. We have been a few times and the menu choice is very good, and food is of above average standard but not the best I have ever had. The Marsala is very mild in my opinion, but would recommend the Lamb Balti.Free liqueur at end of meal is nice touch.

We have been on 4 different occasions now and never been disappointed. The staff are very friendly, the service has always been excellent and never rushed, and the food just superb. The restaurant is bright and comfortable, varied menu, and good value. We will certainly return.

Everything was going well until around 15/20 school kids arrived and were swearing, shouting and very rude. the management did nothing. this i have found out happens daily

Our experience was extremely poor as we had to hang about, waiting to be seated, whilst staff took a large take-away order. Once seated we had a long wait, and eventually had to ask for them to take our drink order and to get some popadoms. Had an even longer wait, and again had to ask if they would take our main order, to which the reply was 'a couple of minutes'. 10 minutes later, still no order taken so got up, offered to pay for what we had and left. We won't be going back!

this restaurant is not any other,we had a great meal here and would recommend it to friend and the like,we sat down to a friendly smile, and attendiness and explained the currys that we were ordering ,and meal was presented and warm and was great yes I would go back,***** star meals and good prices.
