Really surprised at the review left a week ago with one star. The had a "bad experience" but no detail as to what...? Anyways! We love the Bengal when we're in Keith! and they're so good with my son who is dairy intolerant. we love a BYOB at the best of times, but with the food being so good, it's a brucey bonus!! Keema rice is legit amazing. our local back home doesn't do it anymore so I order it every time we're here 💪🙌🤤 The only reason I knocked a star off the food, was I ordered a king prawn chasni. Very strange format 😂 not creamy... So a bit strange for a chasni, but really very nice all the same!! 😂 Just odd. The tiger curry, I usually have with lamb tikka. It's fantastic. And the nans are always super fluffy, bit stodgy at all 🤤 Do you guys fancy moving down to the central belt...?? 😂

My husband & I regularly enjoying eating out at Bengal Spice in Keith. The food is always delicious & they have a great variety of curry’s on their menu! Can’t recommend them enough.

Only our second time using their Takeaway service and the quality was First Class. We will definitely be returning for more.

The surroundings are delightful. Clean, tastefully furnished and well-lit. Service is polite, friendly and efficient although we did have to stand around at the bar for a short time before our presence was acknowledged. Quiet background music was playing but this was drowned out by a “voiceover” from an electronic device; a child was no doubt doing something mind-numbing on a smart phone. No earphones? I found this most distracting and destroyed the ambience of a hint of the East in a Bangladeshi restaurant in Keith. I can’t blame the management but they are nevertheless responsible. Surely the adults in charge of the young ‘malefactor’ should have taken action? The food, as always, was superb. The lamb tikka was tender and succulent - tastefully marinated. My Jalfrezie didn’t look nice - a brown ‘morass’ on a plate. Needed a garnish to improve the appearance. It’s not only taste that counts - the eye needs to be satisfied too! But the food was excellent - spicy sauce, green chillis and the lamb tikka main course was equally good. Irresistible sauce but surely the salad might have included tomato? The naan bread is divine in this restaurant. The restaurant is unlicensed but operates a BYOB policy. Check the corkage charge! A visit to the gents toilet revealed the paper towel dispenser almost empty and the raised toilet seat bespattered on the underside - the colour of the besmirchment matching what you might expect in such a location. The paper towels had not been topped up by the time I left - some time later. This aspect of management must be improved. Nevertheless, we were invited back by the host most graciously upon our departure. And like General MacArthur, we “shall return”!

Amazing food I would highly recommend

We had an amazing meal. We asked the owner for recommendation and it was amazing. His gorgeous daughter was passionate about the food and explained it all. The owner took our coats and hung them up. Brilliant service we will be back. Thank you for making our night special as my Mum is 80 and stepdad 86. My first Christmas back in Scotland from Australia. Bengal Spice was amazing, it was my 2nd time dining here, this one was more traditional as last time was buffet style. The food quality here is probably by far the best in Keith. The wait for the meals was a little long but I think there was only a few working through the back and it was all done one order at a time. But not to worry because when the food did come out, it was still sizzling hot and delicious. I would much rather wait for proper high quality food than it be rushed and a mess. The atmosphere is beautiful, the decorations and everything is of a golden colour theme. The staff were extremely kind and tended to all our needs. I ordered the Chicken Tikka alongside the house special pilau and fresh orange juice. I also had nan bread and we had poppadoms to keep us munching while we waited for our food. The building was warm and everyone was having a good time. It is definitely worth 5 stars on both of my dining experiences. I will be back and I will absolutely recommend to family and friends

Bought the set meal for two and was absolutely delighted. Lots of variation & flavour, the veg pakora was delicious, as were the sauces. I had the Naga curry and the Roshni which were big portions, well spiced and perfectly done. Also came with a garlic naan, Bombay potatoes, salad, chicken starter and 2 pilau rice. Spot on! Best I've had in Keith for a very long time.

Would usually give them A 5 ⭐️ but not this time. Phone order was told 30/40 minutes but ended up over 1½ hours plus, to get home to find it all cold 😡 the cheese on top of my Chicken Ponir was like a block of cheese just out of the fridge and the chip was like frozen chip left out to defrost. Give them a call to soft out my order just for them to hang up on me. Will be thinking twice in going back 😡

I think it's recently under new ownership. Quality was way below what we've received from here when under prior ownership. Ordered 4 different dishes, one was completely wrong and one had no sauce or salad. One dish was ok, the pizza was reasonable, the curry was completely not what was ordered and the kebab was just a load of dry meat on a tough naan. Really not good, go elsewhere.

Excellent on line ordering. We arrived 2 minutes before pickup time and it was given to us with only one minutes wait. Dinner enjoyed by all the family.

10/10 buffet night was amazing, people forget what a fab little restaurant Bengal is. Well worth a visit! Also reccomend ‘the com’ pub just down the street for alcohol as it is bring your own bottle. Great service in both!

Had takeaways from this place a couple of times now, both times have been excellent! Very easy to use the online ordering system to choose from the large menu. Food is ready for collection at the time stated, portion sizes are good, taste is excellent!!

We have dined at The Bengal Spice on numerous occasions. Since the new management took over, we have always had great food and great service in lovely surroundings. On this occasion, we inadvertently went in on Buffet night, and it was assumed by the staff that we were there for that, without anyone asking us. Therefore, when I asked for a menu, the young waiter just gestured at the buffet station and walked away. I asked again for a menu and our table of 4 was given one menu. I feel that they woud have preferred us to eat from the buffet (I am vegetarian and rarely find a decent choice on buffet tables) and we felt that we were an inconvenience. We will avoid that particular night in future. It was disappointing because we had friends with us who we had told about the restaurant being really good!

An absolutely terrific hidden gem in Keith. Bengal Spice restaurant is an absolute go to if you like authentic, well cooked and presented Indian food. This family run restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated with amazing, helpful staff. All under the informative helpful (nothing is too much trouble) manageress Tania whose father is the proprietor. It's not at all surprising that this restaurant has won awards, they are truly amazing! You are spoilt for choice with the extensive choice on the menu and the very talented chef will tweak any dish on the menu to your own particular taste. My own particular favourite is the Haryially Chicken which is delightful. We have eaten here 7 times in the last 3 months and tonight have tried their buffet night. Every time it has been consistently good in every way. The food is very reasonably priced with a huge selection to chose from. You have to take your own alcohol of which there is a very minimal £1.50 corkage fee. All in all, a fantastic restaurant with great food and excellent staff. A quiet curry spot with surprisingly good flavours and fantastic service. We came on a rainy Wednesday night and we were the only patrons dining in. I highly recommend the chicken tikka, very tender and flavourful. Highly recommend!

We visited Bengal Spice Restaurant in Keith on our trip to Scotland from New Zealand. We were personally served by the owner and were impressed by his enthusiasm that we should experience his food compared to what we receive in New Zealand. We thoroughly enjoyed all 3 courses, and we were blown away by the fabulous flavours and the quantity of food served. We couldn't eat it all despite our best efforts! Also BYO which was great with a reasonable corkage fee. We thoroughly recommend to all, including and tourist like us.

Great first time at Bengal after moving to Keith 7 weeks ago. Tasty, flavoursome, very well priced food. Staff friendly, attentive but not intrusive. Clean and welcoming restaurant. Peshwari is to die for !! We will definitely be back soon enough.

Super nice and service minded place. We arrived late from Aberdeen and were going on to Boat and Garten. It was difficult to find a place to eat at 21:00. Was recommended the place at Tesco. We were the only customers, but got lovely food.

First visit to Bengal Spice for many years. On hearing it had changed hands and had some refurbishment it was time to visit again. Great experience from start to finish, warm welcome, friendly service. BYO at the moment as licence is pending, however this is not an issue, glasses offered to the table for our beverages. Excellent food, the menu offers the usual suspects and some house specials, plenty choice indeed. Lovely chat with Abdul following our meal, Thursday night is Buffet Night, it comes highly recommended. Look forward to visiting again soon.

This has always been our favourite local Indian takeaway, but having heard good reports since the restaurant re-opened a few months ago, decided to try eating in for a change. The service was friendly, attentive but not at all intrusive, and the food was excellent. We had 3 curries, all good but the lamb Rogan Josh and Chicken Tikka Kahari were particularly tasty. The naans were perfect, crisp underneath and bubbly on top, best I’ve had anywhere. They serve soft drinks only, but you can take your own alcoholic drink. Will definitely go back, especially to try the popular Thursday buffet night.

Place has a decent atmosphere, staff are kind and pleasant, however the food needs leveling up. Doner kebab was dry like rubber, chicken tikka was like that Chicken Tikka that's been prepared maybe a week a go, I guess that's what you get when you get a kebab from an Indian? Haven't tried their curries, will give it a try next time. However the kebabs are sadly awful. A shame because the staff were very nice and the place seems decent and clean.

The Spice of Life Heard great reviews about Bengal Spice Restaurant and finally tried it for ourselves. Wow, it exceeded expectations. Stylishly refurbished, warm and welcoming staff and an extensive menu to choose from. We opted for specials - vegetarian and a meat feast - and both dishes were delicious, staff helpful with advice and met our specific requests. We brought our own drinks and paid £3 each corkage. When the bill came we felt it represented exceptional value for money. Thank you Bengal Spice, we will be back again soon - and will recommend to everyone we know!

A fantastic Indian restaurant in the heart of Keith. We always use the takeaway service from this restaurant but decided to try the sit down area for a meal out. It Has been recently refurbished which now gives it a lovely ambiance. The food was first class and so was the service from the owner & his daughter was very polite & friendly to us. Definitely value for money for the quantity & quality of food that we were served. And we will most definitely return & recommend this Indian restaurant.

Went for a buffet meal last night with my two freinds. Had a lovely night. Food was lovely tasty and hot. Service was faultless made us feel very welcome. Restuarant was bright and very cosy. I could not fault my visit and recommend definately trying it. 10/10

Usually pick a nan kebab which are amazing..stuffed full of chicken tikka salad cheese and yummy sauce..but tonight treated my neice to the buffet first time we've been in years ..good to see it so busy again..the food was freshly cooked and plentiful..we tried some of everything..staff are attentive ..and definitely value for money

Beautiful decor and efficient, polite and attentive restaurant service. Large choice of Indian dishes with a Western option too. The food is very good and soft drinks are available. You can bring your own alcoholic drinks and pay corkage.

I have eaten here quite a lot over the last few years and it was always very nice. They seem to have changed a lot of things like the sauces and chips etc. Last night the doner meat was very dry and tough, I knew I shouldn't have eaten it as now I am ill this morning. Not sure what has changed in this place, but it is such a shame. The quality and quantity of the food definitely was not value for money, very small portions, and I had to question if the kebab nest was from the previous day as it was so dry. It was more expensive than the Chinese which you end up with leftovers and it doesn't make you ill. What a shame.

After seeing good reviews I thought I’d give bengal a try and to be honest I don’t understand what the hype is about awful food waiting time to long when it’s not busy inside and for the meal I got far to expensive definitely don’t recommend won’t be back!

We found this lovely restaurant on Maps after our distillery tour at Strathisla and we were impressed by the taste of their dishes! We'd say this is a MUST GO if you're in the area. Not only are the dishes incredibly tasty, but also honestly priced. The menu offers a very vast variety of typical Indian dishes to choose from, which will make everyone happy. The place is new and clean, the owner kind and friendly and the design welcoming and cosy. We only spent £32 for a dinner for two and we were nice and full with so little. We would have loved to try more as it was really worth it, but we didn't have more space in our bellies... This means that there will be a next time!

The portions were good and the food quite tasty. The service was also very helpful with good recommendations. The curries and naans were really good, but the biryani could have been better with some more spices. Also the place was very clean. Overall it was a positive experience.

Placed an order on the phone to be told it will be ready in 30 minutes time when I turned up after 30 minutes I was left waiting another 15/20 minutes that’s not good service and overall a bad experience with the food.

Chicken was not cooked and rice didn’t taste fresh do not recommend to anyone.

Pepperoni pizza was really good, chicken fillets are so good, a little bit let down with the chips as they were a bit over cooked, we’ll definitely be back

Driving back from Montrose and before reaching Huntly ordered takeout online for 2 . When entered take away was told meal would be ready in 3minutes. Nearly 50 minutes later meal was finally ready.When we got home, order was wrong. My son asked for chicken, I ordered lamb , both were chicken. And as a sorry for their total cockup. A wee bag of soggy salad and small bottle of Coke. Will not be recommending to anyone.

We got the 5 person course. The food was great. Really good portions. The only issue was how dirty the menus are, and the female host dressed as if she was ready to start painting.
