I had been recommended this cafe by a friend from Edinburgh, tired from a long, but beautiful train journey from Edinburgh, with a heavy rucksack, Nourish was a comfort!! Such a relaxing place with a warm welcome and friendly vibe. All the food looked good but decided wanted sweet rather than savoury, so opted for Rhubarb and ginger cake two favourite ingredients of mine, along with a flat white coffee. I was able to relax and enjoy without being rushed. Infact although I was missing the start if the Gathering Festival, ny main reason for travelling to Inverness from Preston, I decided I wanted to stay longer! So a pot of tea, then nipped in Leakys Bookshop just up from Nourish. Thank you, a special place recommended to escape the hustle and bustle, and just be!

This small restaurant looks like a vegan, hippy café from the 60's. It opens early and stays open later. We found it because it was the only place still open, when we arrived in Inverness. The homemade soup was delicious and the serving was generous. The slice of cake was moist and tasty. The ladies behind the counter were helpful and pleasant. This is the only café in Scotland that I saw tofu entrees. I recommend healthy eaters to check this place out.

I had the pleasure to dine at Nourish several times during an extended stay in Inverness. As soon as you walk in the door you receive a warm welcome from Amanda and her staff. There is a wide variety of choices on the menu to suit the vegetarian, vegan and gluten free diet, all freshly cooked on the day. I sampled various items including wraps, soup, goulash and delicious gluten free brownies & carrot cake. There is also a wide variety of drinks on offer both hot & cold, I indulged in a heavenly mocha made with almond milk! We had lunch here today and we found the food was simply delicious and the staff really nice and helpful. Most of the dishes are vegetarian/vegan, and most of them are also gluten free. Our daughter being a coeliac we appreciated the care they took in cooking gluten free versions of their dishes. We had rice with beans and lentils chilli and wraps with beetroot hummus, falafel and spinach. By the end of the lunch we were full, but we couldn't miss out on the cakes (gluten free and vegan choices available). We are happy we could have such a delicious and healthy meal. All dishes are cooked on order, so the waiting time could be about 15 minutes, but we think this is a plus rather than a drawback.

Arrived and took a vacant table. ordered coffees, really good. My Daughter then ordered a pitta bread with pesto, roasted veggies and tofu. she got tofu, mayo ? salad leaves and tomato. Salad on the side coated with vinegar (inedible). I ordered the special, spiced cauliflower soup. I got soup with the consistency of warm wallpaper paste, little flavour and a half slice of bread cut in half. I also don't understand why we had to wait some time for the food. and £16 was overpriced. There are other vegan cafes in Inverness. Very disappointed.

The menu seemed great: plenty but not too much choice, seemingly fresh, local ingredients. When we arrived there were two large tables free; it didn’t seem particularly busy. We ordered a soup and sandwich deal but it wasn’t so much soup & sandwich as soup THEN sandwich. By the time we’d eaten the soup we had a further 10 minute wait for sandwiches. My friend stayed but I asked to take mine away. Meanwhile the table next to us, who arrived after us, had had their food. We were asked to clarify around 5 times which sandwich was to be taken away and which was sit in. It turned out another table had been served our food. I was told the bill could only be paid at the counter, not printed and presented at the table, probably because the server had no idea which bill was for which table! The sandwich, that I ultimately ate at my desk back at my office, was disappointing. The “roasted veg” had been nowhere near an oven. The service was awful. Wouldn’t go again.

We called in for a light lunch and I was tempted by the 'Spicy Kidney 'Bean and Walnut Stew' up on the blackboard. What I got was the dregs of a stew, low on beans and devoid of walnuts swamped with chunks of potatoes and carrots accompanied by rice and some very sad looking lettuce leaves; low in protein high in starch. Waitress asked if I was enjoying the stew and I had to tell her, her response was that I was entitled to my opinion, but the absence of walnuts and low content of beans was a matter of fact not opinion. 'Breakfast ends at 11', and checking our phones we still had just over 10 mins. We took our seats and had decided within a couple of minutes. Just as I was about to order the waitress comes to the table and states, "breakfasts is off, we have an hour break until 12, you can have cake or coffee, sorry". We left shortly after. The menu should either state, lasts order is 10:30 if this is the reality. We felt that we could have been offed Muesli or the other easily made items. I can understand if you had cleaned down the grill etc,. The exchange with the waitress felt that they take custom for granted which was odd as the place was empty.

A tiny vegetarian and vegan restaurant producing some original, delicious food in their open kitchen. Soups, stews, homemade cakes and all delicious. Locals eat here too not just tourists. Great value. A big thumbs up. And they also have their own little cookbook for sale.

As someone who is both gluten and dairy free its often a nightmare to find food to eat when I'm out. Nourish is amazing, the staff are lovely and the food is brilliant. I even managed to find a cake I could eat and it tasted great! So glad I have family up here so I can visit as often as I like!!!

This is the place to come if you want a healthy meal. I had a lovely bowl of soup. It's not very big though, some people who arrived after us had to leave as there were no seats free. Very friendly service.

I had a very healthy and delicious breakfast with tea and cake. The cake choice is very wide and most of them are GF (gluten free) and V (vegan)...ideal if you are vegetarian/vegan or you just need a break from the meaty and dairy-based typical Scottish breakfast. Thet also serve savory food!

Won't be back the owner is so rude . If you pay for drinks in a pub hotel . You expect a thank you. Total anti children our three year old was chatting and we Heard the owners rude comment about him . Also we took her seat . The poor lass who runs hand and foot for this person is so friendly it's the only reason we stayed so long . Won't be back and won't recommend to any of our family and friends that visit the port . Maybe someone will take over the Caledonian and make it a hotel and pub again . We have been visiting the port for 40 years and haven't experienced the unfriendly signal we got from the castle hotel .

What a fantastic find on our recent visit to Inverness. Brilliant wee cafe with extremely friendly staff. Great menu and selection of fresh cakes. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and to top it all they are doggy friendly which meant we didn’t need to leave our 14yr old pooch in the car. Would definitely recommend a visit.
