Popped in here recently on a trip through Wick to Dunnet Head - Got a cheese & tuna toastie and a latte which were both excellent. Owners were really friendly and the price reasonable considering the location - Have a feeling they could charge 2/3 times the price - being on the NC 500 - but choose not to. Will certainly return.

We were on our way back to Thurso from Wick when we came across this cosy little cafe where we decided to stop for lunch. So glad we did!! Amazing place! And the incredible artist: Glyn and (we presume) his wife were absolutely brilliant! Only a few tables and very informal. We were the only guests and had a lovely chat with them over a nice lunch: soup and a sandwich. The walls are covered in beautiful wooden handcrafted figures that are all for sale. Will definitely come back next time we visit the Highlands. Highly recommended!

We stumbled upon this lovely wee spot driving down from Orkney. We stopped at Tesco Wick for Petrol and as the café was under refurbishment we did a good google search and found this stop. (it's 2 minutes drive from the Tesco as you're heading into Wick - easy to miss!) Simple but good breakfast choices, cooked fresh (not pre-cooked and hot held) and even better, they had Gluten Free bread and sausages as the owners are GF intolerant like myself. Will definitely stop here again for food.

Back from the Orkney Islands and after a stop off at busy J O’G ....looked on the sat nav for a much less “touristy” spot for a bit of tea, as we were both fancying something down to earth and The Rumblin Tum came up as being nearby. A quick check of T.Advisor and noted the reviews were OK and off we headed, You could easily drive past, as it doesn’t immediately look like a cafe but good roadside signage informed us that this was the right place. Quirky it is .....but Glynn, author, wood artist and chef today...is a welcoming chap and his cafe clearly reflects his style. Basic cafe food but absolutely nothing wrong with that & plenty of choice on the menu, everything is cooked fresh to order. Egg, chips and beans we fancied and thats exactly what we got, with two piping hot mugs of coffee at sensible prices. Glynn, wishing you lots of good luck with your bus project and thank you for our tea. Spot on. You know who we are.

This was a perfect stopping point for lunch with our two toddlers. It's a reasonably small and slightly eccentric old school cafe but we were happy with our meals and the owner was cheery and helpful. There's also a range of wood knick-knacks. The menu is basic but very good value.

Think this is one of the friendliest cafes we’ve ever stopped at, I felt like we’d stopped in to visit friends the way we were looked after. The cafe was also very dog friendly, our wee dog was spoiled for attention which is always lovely. The food was simple but very tasty and generous portions too.

We stopped off here for lunch with no expectations as we are not familiar with the area. We had lovely food and a warm beverage, it was just what the doctor ordered! We just stumbled across this cafe whilst doing the NC500 and what a great find it was. Such a quirky place with a real atmosphere. The gentleman that runs it, was really welcoming, he is also a published author and was so great to chat to him about his books, of which you can buy there. Breakfast was lovely and worth the money. Definitely worth a stop off x

We stopped off at The Rumblin’ Tum on our way to Sinclair Bay and loved this place. From the outside, it looks a little like a cosy American diner. There was ample parking space and about three or four tables inside. The owner is a lovely guy: the cafe is decorated with his wood carvings which are on sale including jewellery, hooks, ornaments, jigsaws etc. He also writes and has a range of novels published, based around the local area. He personally cooks all of the food from fresh: the menu includes cooked breakfasts, jacket potatoes, burgers and sandwiches. Quite a unique place off the beaten tourist trail. If you’d like a casual breakfast or lunch with a twist, definitely worth a visit!

We travel first of all for visiting a country, but also for meeting other cultures, that’s why we tend to avoid mass tourist places. At The Rumblin’ Tum we found what we were looking for. The OWNER is a DELIGHTFUL AND INTERESTING person, PREPARING FOOD TO ORDER.But he’s as well a wood carver (you can buy his creations there), and a writer (books on sale too)!He personally does everything in his tiny, cozy café; and we appreciated the ODD, RELAXING ATMOSPHERE of the interiors, and the PEACEFUL SURROUNDINGS. FOOD was very SIMPLE, yet CAREFULLY PREPARED AND GOOD, and REASONABLY PRICED.Just one minus point: the toilet… in dire need of improvement!

How wonderful! This part of Scotland is a bit remote and to find a tiny, cozy cafe like this is a dream! The owner is delightful, personable and interesting. The food is very simple yet prepared with care and attention to detail, also my meal was delicious! He prepares everything to order so it isn't "fast food" but he managed to have our meal out very quickly. Stop by this little cafe to support a small business and enjoy the woodcarvings and collections of books by local authors, including some by the owner! If we ever make it back this way we'll definitely be eating here again!

I was on a nice run out on a lovely, sunny Sunday morning and stopped off at a Cafe just on the outskirts of Wick, The Rumblin' Tum. I can't rate this quaint, little place enough for adding to a perfect Sunday ride out. A lovely breakfast and coffee at a price that I think is the cheapest in the area. The atmosphere is certainly the warmest and most welcoming. Whilst I was sitting in the cafe I noticed plenty of people coming and going, so it's very popular and many bought little gifts that have been made on the premises by the owner, Glyn. I would recommend to anyone to have a wee trip over and sample the food and banter. Whilst I was there I had a full breakfast... Double egg, double sausage and bacon, bean, tomatoes, toast and a coffee.... steaming hot and very reasonably priced. If I could I would give the value for money more than 5 stars.

The Rumblin Tum is a caff, and a good one. The food could never be called fancy, but it is really well cooked and the prices are reasonable. I have eaten there many times and can heartily recommend the scampi and chips, the cheese on toast, the sausage and chips and the breakfasts (which are available any time). Glyn is a friendly and accommodating host, and one of the best points about the cafe is that he will provide any combination of items on the menu. So if you want, for example, three eggs and chips, but no sausages on your breakfast he can provide it and price it accordingly.

A delight to find somewhere independent open earlier than 9am for a coffee and breakfast roll. Just what I needed for the road. The veggie roll was delicious and the flat white coffee as it should be served in a small cup, tasted good. Friendly customer service very attentive. Plus they prefer cash so make sure you have plenty of change as it will be welcomed. They do take cards as well. Thank you
