Wow wow wow! If you get the opportunity to go here, you will not regret it- especially if you choose the sharing platter. Lobster, crab, scallops, oysters and mussels. Everything was delicious, served with warm ciabatta to soak up the juices! All topped by excellent service from Dawn. Thank you so much!

Really enjoy the seafood options here. We had the seafood platter and all the selections were fresh. We noticed the crab was a bit raw and runny on the inside so we asked for a recook and got a new crab in return. Appreciate the service.

A gem in Fort William! My partner got one of the specials. I forgot what it was called but the cod was coated in a delicious crust. There were mushrooms, vegetables, butternut squash, and a ham + mushroom tortellini (? I forget). My partner said it was fresh and delicious. As for me, I got their popular fish and chips! I can see why it’s so popular too. The chips were crispy but as I bit into it, it was softer! The haddock was coated in a light batter that was crispy and not overwhelming. The peas were also a nice touch! Lastly, we shared a Korean Glazed Pork Belly, which came with king prawns and sesame kimchi. The pork belly was so tender and easy to eat. It melted in my mouth! The king prawns and kimchi were also delicious, but the pork belly was the best!

Excellent wee seafood restaurant. Scallops plum. Cullen skunk very tasty Monkfish was wrapped in Parma ham cooked well & of a generous portion. Donna looked after us very well and was knowledgeable and efficient. Our neighbouring table were from Mexico so we enjoyed an exchange of cultures. Great wee place Will return.

We went to this restaurant last night, as a party of four, since we were going to stay in Fort Williams just one night we decided to go for seafood and possibly the best seafood restaurant in town. We booked for 8 pm, in my opinion the food was overall really tasty, we had 4 starters and 4 mains, I did enjoy all my food, my girlfriend had the fish and chips and thought the fish was too salty, however I didn’t try it so I couldn’t say. I found the prawns slightly overcooked but apart from that the experience was great and we were happy we choose this place! Paid the right amount for seafood and drinks. Defo recommend it :)

Ate dinner here on Monday 16th September with 2 friends celebrating our completion of the West Highland Way. Booked following a local recommendation & excellent Google reviews. They helpfully moved our booking back an hour as we were running behind on our walking schedule. Dinner was fantastic - both quality and quantity - my seafood (smoked salmon) starter was probably my best ever and my Italian friend rated her seafood tagliatelle very highly. They werealso knowledgeable & helpful with my gluten free (coeliac) requirements, meaning I could enjoy my meal with confidence

Fresh ingredients. Incredible food. Quick, friendly and very professional staff. Prices are a bit higher than you might expect, but the quality makes up for that tenfold. Excellent choice of wines. Every dish is composed and cooked with love and passion, and you can taste that on the plate. Both the smoked salmon tartlet and the hake with king prawns were incredibly tasty and super fresh. The dessert (a caramelized filo pastry with mango/lime leaf cream) was not too sweet and complemented the meal to perfection. Also, it was nice to finally find a place where deep fried food is more of an exception than a rule. (Most) Scottish food is tasty, but becomes repetitive after a few days. Most bars/restaurants serve the same old classics every day. Dining at this place was a very welcome change. This restaurant serves plates of happiness. Don't miss it when you're around, you won't regret it!

An upscale restaurant, which you can tell by the quality and price. Which doesn't mean it's overpriced. The food was very good and well presented. The focus here is on fish and seafood that are of high quality.

Top location! Located in the city of Fort William in an old stone house. Lovingly rustic furnishings. The staff is super nice and attentive (we said we wanted to share a Cullen Skink soup and were served the portion divided into 2 bowls! Great!). The food was an absolute highlight of our trip so far. Everything perfectly presented and superbly prepared. Highly recommended restaurant. If you want to enjoy fresh fish, you have to go here!!!

Our experience at Crannog at Garrison West was memorable! We celebrated my partner's birthday and everything went perfectly, from the quality of the food to the kindness and attention of the waitresses. Thanks to them and the entire team we were able to enjoy a romantic and celebratory dinner.

Hidden restaurant with more tables than initially expected. Very friendly staff. The fish dishes were noticeably fresh and are highly recommended. Good value for money. In addition to the menu, there are also daily dishes.

Fantastic fish and seafood restaurant, with friendly, helpful staff. The taramasalata and roasted salmon dishes were standouts, as was the treacle tart.

The best restaurant in Fort William bar none. The scallops were super fresh and perfectly executed. The combination with Jerusalem artichokes was a marriage made in heaven. My wife's salmon was delicious. I don't fancy salmon but I tasted hers and it was outstanding. The monkfish scampi are innovative and amazingly good. My 7 year old son, normally a bit fussy with his food, also liked the monkfish and the salmon. The service was good and the decor of the restaurant is understated but elegant.

Great place in Fort William, wonderful service, lovely food, the Cullen Skink was an example of what the dish should be. All of the mains were praised by our group, and we loved the choc tart for dessert. Great beer selection and a good, interesting and well priced wine list. The house white Sav Blanc from Rioja was yummy. And to round off a fine evening they found my wife's, handbag which had been left behind, and called us to say so. Thank you for this - a criss averted. !

The nicest place in our experience in Fort William. Fantastic and super friendly service. Excellent food. We had some truly spectacular tagliatelle "allo scoglio" and a really interesting salmon on a bed of rice and peas (dish of the day). To finish, a tasting of typical cheeses with jams. Average bill (£30-40 per person). Super recommended if you are in the area.

Superb restaurant where it is important to book if you want a seat. Places are coveted and there is plenty to be had. The service is great, the team too. Not to mention the food which is sublime. In addition, the team can adapt to your allergies. They take great care of you. I recommend it with your eyes closed, you will not be disappointed.

Excellent cuisine, I recommend the mussels and fish and chips! I also advise you to book in advance because places are limited during the high season.

Really recommend this place. A little more expensive than others but the environment is very nice and the food excellent. I took the mussels with garlic cream which I digested easily, the sole and fish were good as was the baked squid, only the cullein skink I found too strong and I preferred it in other restaurants. Really recommended. A plus: hand cream in the ladies' room. The restaurant is located in the pedestrian area. There is paid parking on the seafront, then you can cut inland from the streets. A piece of pedestrian area is covered by arcades and you won't get wet in case of rain.

A restaurant dedicated to seafood where you can enjoy fresh products prepared simply and very tasty. We highly recommend and the welcome and service are very friendly.

Before the departure time of the Caledonian Sleeper, I had an early dinner, as I was not hungry after eating a lot in Mallaig at lunchtime. The choice was a glass of white wine, seafood tagliatelle and an after-dinner cappuccino, and although I wasn't hungry, the tagliatelle was very tasty and I finished it. The only downside was that the staff did not seem to pay much attention to their seats, even though they were still open for dinner at a time when there were few customers.

What a special find just off the main walking path in Fort William. Excellent seafood - order off of the specials board for a special treat like the parmesan-crusted cod and daily quiche that we enjoyed. Lovely dining rooms and the service was fantastic.

They were able to fit us in - was wonderful. The food and drinks were good. I had the Parmesan crusted cod - 2 thumbs up! Would go again if I’m in the area.

I was here 6 years ago and I knew I had to stop again for a second meal. Superb atmosphere and very accommodating with my child. I recommend the seafood tagliatelle, mussels, and the smoked salmon. See you soon again. I'll make haste.

We were squeezed in for an early booking on the day. The food was really delicious - superb plump mussels, tasty fresh oysters, delicious soda bread and crab salad and smoked salmon, gorgeous peach Melba. There is a sweet little garden outside and interesting pictures to look at inside with a bright but cost atmosphere whatever the weather in the conservatory space. Nice clean well equipped toilets. Happy to let us share starters and mains at the same time with our 8 year old. One starter, two mains, three oysters, beer, gin, and a single pudding came to under £130

We came to the restaurant without taking an appointment, but they welcomed us even though it was a full-booking restaurant. I advise you to take an appointment. The staff is very nice, the food is very delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant is beautiful and crowded. Thank you to the management and staff of the restaurant for the hospitality.

We went in on the Saturday. They said they always have a little space for walk-ins but were now full. So we were first in the queue for when the doors opened the next day (5pm on a Sunday), but then they said that they weren't available for walk-ins until 6pm). So we experienced the restaurant just not any food, as if we had come back at 6pm who knows what they would have then said. But frustrating as we were waiting in the rain. Based on a friend's report, it's fine if you definitely have booked.

Nice ambience, very cozy, high quality food and professional staff. We’ve got two traditional soups (a cream fish soup), muscles and half lobster, some veggies and two beers for £100. A bit expensive but very delicious. Can only recommend them.

Have I never ever paid £65 and walked out of the restaurant to buy a frozen meal to eat immediately! Yes, I did at this restaurant! The food was brought to the table after 70 minutes of wait and I have already lost my appetite by that time. The food ingredients were good quality but had no taste at all. Do not recommend it! Go for a takeaway fish and chips and you will still win!

A lovely place, with good service we had a table of 7 and this was no issue for them. The food was fantastic, and I had the monkfish scampi. Would recommend this.

We had the most delicious meal at Crannog Garrison West. The fish was fresh and delicious, and we loved the chocolate millionaire dessert, which came with an orange purèe, dark chocolate and ginger ice cream, and not too much caramel. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Thank you for a lovely and memorable meal.

I went there for two times. First time in Dec 2022 and second time in June 2024. Seafood platter are still taste so good. Those seafood are so fresh. U really can taste seafood’s freshness here!! Probably will come again and again!

If you love seafood then this is place to visit in Fort William. The food is excellent, great specials on the day. My favourite are the oysters, they are fresh and reasonably priced. The service is brilliant, we were asked if we had any allergies, my partner does, and they made sure the kitchen team knew and that was really good to see. Couldn't recommend it more!

Very pleasant interior with an open plan feel. Efficient and very helpful service from the servers. Scallops for a starter was very enjoyable and perfectly cooked. The seafood tagliatelle came with ample portion size, perfectly cooked seafood with very nice tagliatelle. Very enjoyable lunch and the service was great, cheers!

Best Seafood Restaurant in Fort Williams

Really great seafood restaurant. The sole with asparagus was to die for, and their fries are amazing. Highly recommended

The food and beverage was great. 4.5 stars due to slightly sluggish wait staff. Crispy squid with Korean BBQ sauce was excellent. I wanted more per serving. Better signage is needed to get from parking to front door.

It has to be 5 out of 5! Not an expert of oyster but the local one is surprisingly light (very little of the taste of minerals) and easy. The Oban lobster and mussels are one of the best I have ever had. The freshness of the seafood is unbeatable, coupled with the chef perfectly timed and cooked, the dish is simply an art. The restaurant is very popular so you will have to book in advance. I tried to make a reservation for dinner few days before but got no luck and I have booked for lunch eventually.

This is just excellent! I may have had the best mussels of my life there, but all the other dishes were also above average. Unfortunately the staff was completely overwhelmed, so we had to wait over 1 3/4 hours for our food. But then one of our friends unfortunately didn't get any food. When we asked about the missing food, we were told that the kitchen was already closed. Only after violent intervention was a meal prepared

We had the pleasure of having dinner at a second excellent seafood restaurant in the Highlands within 3 days after our initial experience on the Isle of Skye. The langostinos and oyster starters were as fresh as they could be with the succulent sweet meat. For mains we had the Hake with prawns, and the Sole with asparagus and potato dumplings, both prepared in different ways, very flavorful. For dessert we had their special of the day, a bread budding served with ice cream and cardamom infused apricots: would have had a second order, it was that delicious. Wait staff was polite. The place has a relaxed, even celebratory, vibe to it. Not cheap but well worth the food quality: for 2 of us with 2 beers included it came to €110.

Had a bowl of cullen skink for £11.50. It’s a lot to pay for a bowl of creamy potato and one piece of bread. I found one piece of haddock at the bottom. Couldn’t recommend based on that dish. Update: I did tell my server about it and got no response from her.

One of the best meals we’ve had recently! Locally sourced and deliciously prepared seafood. I’ve never had anything quite like the Thai dressed oysters. We booked a table in advance online, and I’m glad we did! They’d hung up a sign saying their tables were all booked for the evening just as we arrived.

We ate here twice again on this Scotland tour! It was great as always. Every time we actually want to try different restaurants and then book again for the next day. Service was super friendly as always. We hope that the old location at the harbor will open again, it has a special flair. But this place is also really nice. We recommend!

Excellent service, nice ambience, and the food is top notch. Really enjoyed our meal here, the starters were delicious (black pudding and apple salad, mackerel tart) really nicely prepared. Main was exactly what I hoped it would be (we both had the battered haddock, chips and peas) the fish was top quality and the batter was exquisite, the chips were cooked perfectly. And to finish off, the desserts were scrumptious (rhubarb fool, coffee ice cream with espresso coffee on the side) Also of note, there was no need to ask for tap water as it was given to us as we sat at our table and when the jug was finished the wonderfully attentive waitress gave us another one, again without needing to ask. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Make sure you book in advance though because it is understandably very popular.

Disappointing. We ordered two main courses and got one after the other with a wait of over 45 minutes in between. Other guests who came later got the same dish after 15 minutes or less, i.e. they got it before me. Neither the service nor the kitchen seemed to care seriously. In the end we received a half-hearted apology, but at the same time I was asked for a tip. I might have been able to understand the chaos in the kitchen if the place had been full, but there were only 4-6 tables occupied. We were there for lunch. And asking for a tip was the final straw. The food was slightly above average and the portions were small rather than too large.

The fish and chips were excellent. The decoration is warm as well as the young staff. The view of the bay is very beautiful.

Top-notch food and amazing service. My wife "had the rump of lamb with French-style peas and haggis. It was magnificent. I love when you can see how much thought they put into every single ingredient, because even the carrots were incredible" (her quote). I had the North Sea Hake, because we can't get that in restaurants at home. The two beautifully-cooked filets were served atop a bed of rocket (arugula), chorizo, and prawns in a tomato-based sauce. The fish melted in my mouth and the flavors of the sauce, chorizo and prawns melded perfectly.

Tried walk in, one of the female staff mouthing about us to others saying oh one of those people again no reservations and giving the please give us a table eyes and some other worse words. Like we are begging to eat there. Also because we are not Caucasian thinking we don’t speak English. That’s so rude and quite frankly racist as well as gave us side eyes. All the other staff allow that sort of behaviour is very disgusting and disrespectful. Especially we have done nothing other than just walked in… Train your staff better and treat people with respect

Celebrating the completion of the Isle of Skye Trail at Crannog Seafood Restaurant was a delightful experience. The mussels and scallops we ordered were incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection, each bite bursting with flavour. The friendly service added to the warm and inviting atmosphere, making us feel right at home. To top it off, we indulged in a newly introduced dessert, which was a perfect end to our meal. Overall, Crannog offered an exceptional dining experience that beautifully complemented our achievement on the trail. Highly recommended for seafood lovers!

Incredible. Got oysters to start and they were as good as any we’ve enjoyed. The sea bass with crispy skin was succulent and had amazing textures. The mascarpone dessert was a treat to end with. Highly recommend - ignore any poor reviews (overly picky tourists) and come here. You’ll be happy you did.
