Lovely staff, really friendly. Cafe option and takeaway option. Does get busy. Great easy food, good for veggies and vegans. Simple and honest. As it's part of a home store dogs aren't allowed and the smell of air fresheners is very strong. Loo's on site are clean. Only stairs to location.

A strange spot for a cafe but with some great vegan options! We arrived shortly after breakfast stopped being served, but the staff were very flexible and let me order the vagan pancakes from the breakfast menu.

What a great place, brilliant Vegan breakfast, really nice staff and reasonable prices. I really want to give this place five stars, but my word, the facilities need some work, like a diamond ring on the unwashed hand of a mechanic. We have a toilet seat that needs replacing, toilet none brush with remains of, missing flush button, rusty and unclean soap dispenser, questionable electrics, a door stop that wants a good clean, and would it hurt to remove the stuff that fixed something to the back of the door. I'll certainly be returning as this is a great place, but I only hope some improvement has been made by then.

Called yesterday, sat waiting ages to get served Poor lass was on her own attending to everyone , that's why we waited past 10 minutes Seemed more keen on getting people in then serving folk that was already sat waiting But after longer than 15 minutes In the end we gave it up as a bad job and left Shame really cos we had been recommended this place the night before I apologise for the harsh review, maybe your food is great We will never know I just hope in future they get more staff working

Great food. Really noisy fan or fridge.

Hearty food, very fresh bread and filling. Would not say there are special ingredients but for a cafe it’s one of the better ones in the area.

Unfortunately we were unable to get a seat,however we were able to get a takeaway from them. We really enjoyed it,we got the spicy chicken burger,and the cheeseburger.Both extremely fresh,tasty and decent size as well!! Always friendly as well. Will definitely be back

Lovely breakfast we'll worth a visit

A little disappointed, Google said they were open from 8, we were looking for breakfast before work, sadly they only do takeaway until 9. The breakfast rolls were ok but sadly eating them in the car park let them down.

Busy and in a bit of an odd location but the baked tatties are superb 🥔 👌

I went for breakfast on the 26th of July was told it would be 20 minutes wait then told they had a cancellation of 7 so they could take us straight away after another 25 minutes our order was taken 30 minutes our coffees arrived 10 minutes later food arrived it wasn’t ours it was for the table next to us that was the last straw we told the lady that appeared to be in charge all she said was fine

Food and drinks were good but rather expensive. Staff very unmotivated and even unfriendly. No cutlery was given for eating. Cleaning work began about 45 minutes before closing time, even though fresh guests were still arriving. Ambience very special, as it is in a decoration/craft shop and also very loud (view directly into the kitchen).

No spending your lunch looking for little green dots or vg's, Route 7 has all their vegan food on a full menu. And there are plenty of options. Surprisingly cozy upper floor cafe. Tasty food and helpful staff.

We always enjoy popping in to this lovely little cafe. Food is always lovely and service great. It's a little outside of the main part of Aviemore and is situated in a small estate in a shop selling hot tubs. Highly reccomend.

Quite a gem, a little bit away from the hustle and bustle of the main road, but well worth the find! Excellent menu selection, great coffee, comfortable and great service. Very busy when we were there, but appeared to fluctuate during our stay. Breakfast burrito was delicious, lovely hash brown to go with it. Great atmosphere and great aesthetic.

Route 7 Cafe is a little hidden gem in Aviemore! The food is amazing and there’s a cute wee shop that you can buy things from!

Popped in for drinks & cakes. Nice layout/ decor. Small lower tables for coffee. Had chocolate fudge cake. Hot food is served too and a shop downstairs. Handy for route 7 cycle route and Aviemore orbitol walk

Came for lunch and had a nice burger and chips. Place was in an industrial estate and on top of a home goods shop at the far end of the lot. The GPS will say you have arrived as soon as you turn in, but keep driving to the end of the road. Worth the drive in!

The 4 oz beef burger was satisfactory. It was not very tasty even after adding tomato sauce and their homemade coleslaw. The chips were not burnt but did mot have much taste. Service was fast and efficient. The Americano was nice.

2nd visit to Route 7 Cafe & is superb for breakfast & lunch with friendly young staff, quick service in a clearly Aviemore ambiance. Could be easier to find as unexpectedly in an industrial estate above a retail shop but worth the search.

Very welcoming staff upon arrival before opening (takeaway starts at 8, cafe actually opens at 9). Gluten free options are very limited if your actually coeliac. Menu is deceiving, as most items cannot be prepared in a gluten free environment and they are unwilling to be flexible if you’re comfortable with that. E.g. no separate toaster - that’s an easy fix. The cardboard-tasting packaged bread is quite frankly a poor effort at accommodating dietary requirements.

Menu states gluten free options are available, but when asked about gluten free options the manager got very defensive and refused to serve my friend any of these options “for safety”. She’s perfectly aware of what she can and can’t eat, and doesn’t need a lecture on the difference between gluten intolerance and coeliac disease from a waitress.

A hidden treasure to be found in Aviemore, you'll need your sat nav to find the location, the venue is very popular with locals and those in the know, parking could be an issue.

Good hot breakfast, had pancakes and porridge.

First visit to this great café in the Highland Home Store Aviemore. Won't be my last for sure

This is a professionally run establishment serving good daytime fare with pleasant and attentive staff. Someone could perhaps explain the purpose of the TV screen showing 'Life on Mars.' Silently ! 30 people in cafe trying to avoid the distraction

Found while out walking, tucked away in an industrial estate, something for everyone, I especially like being greated by two friendly dogs 🐕 We got something to carry out, but you can sit in as well, something for everyone and staff willing to help. Choices for kids as well. Defenetly worth a visit.

Excellent menu, surroundings and really tasty food. Breakfast runs until almost 12noon, happy days!

Awesome Tucked out the way at the end of an industrial estate, don't bother with the high street cafés. We had coffee and cake which were fantastic. Their breakfasts and lunches also looked great.

Great wee hidden gem. We’ve always said Aviemore didn’t deliver when it comes to breakfast but after numerous visits we finally discovered this place today and needless to say we will be back!

Great place to go don’t be put off it being on an business park

Fantastic food. Little touches like salt and pepper on the skin of a baked potatoes before roasting and a tiny bit of lemon on salad, make the food that bit more special. Best cooked breakfast in a very very long time. Chef in there is talented and has a good eye for detail and great taste buds. Staff work fast and hard, didn't catch her name but dark haired lady that wears the glasses is just a wee dynamo. Never stops! Coffee was delicious according to The Husband. Baked potato was wow!!!!! Huuuugge with a great filling. Porridge with fruit, and chia seeds!!!! Mmmm lush. Cakes are fab. We visited 3 times in 4 days lol.

A great, hidden away cafe with good food and service but the noise of fans, fridges and air conditioning was overwhelming. It made normal conversation difficult and has a huge impact on the partial hearing. I fear for the continual stress on the staff of the racket.

Lovely cafe. I took my 8 month old daughter and there was an elevator for the pram and also high chairs. The food was really good and had decent portions.

Very busy, we were given a buzzer to let us know when our table was available. Jacket potatoes were a bit on the hard side, americano was average. Staff were lovely but it would have been a good idea to mention when we arrived that there was no soup

Very nice cafe, chocolate fudge cake was very good, porridge was great and the rolls were very nice.

They were busy and gave us a buzzer and said we'd be waiting 10 minutes, which is fine. But they then gave our table without calling or buzzing us. We've got hungry kids. Thanks. They're crying now.

Excellent few visits to Route 7 for lunch and breakfast. Service was very friendly and efficient. Food was very good quality and the homemade scones were fantastic. We’ll definitely be back!

My wife and I vsited twice during our recent stay in Aviemore. Brilliant food, I can recommend the French Toast and the breakfast burrito. Staff are friendly and provide excellent service. Good coffee as well.

A hidden gem in Aviemore. My wife and I were in Aviemore for the day and was looking for somewhere for lunch. Andrea in Blacks Outdoor Clothing suggested we try Route 7. After a wee bit of searching we found it - situated above the Highland Home Centre (go in the front door and up the stairs inside). The menu had a good variety of items on it and the food was delicious. The staff were friendly and and the café had a lovely atmosphere - including the wood burner being on. We would highly recommend visiting Route 7 and we will definitely be back.

Route 7 is a little hidden gem in Aviemore, why doesn't everyone know about it! I had followed them on Instagram for a while and noticed the amazing daily food updates, so had to get some of the action. We were up in the area for a few days so made sure to have breakfast here at least once. It's located in the Highland Home Centre hidden at the bottom of an industrial estate but it really needs to invest in being in the town centre, it is simply amazing! The food is second to none, all cooked fresh with local ingredients and with a wide variety of breakfast, brunch & lunch items, it's hard to pick what to have. Route 7 is the best place for a bite to eat if you're in Aviemore, pricing isn't too bad and is well worth the slight detour, you won't regret it!

Best breakfast in Aviemore. Staff are very pleasant. The Club Sandwich Whopper was fantastic for lunch as well. Parking can be a challenge.

Route is a nice wee spot for a lunch. They make a good sandwich and also a bomber breakfast burrito. Fast service and a nice place to chill and watch a fire. They do have tvs on which can be a bit distracting but there food and coffee is good and the staff do a good job.

You must try the brekkie burrito 👍

Went for breakfast after parkrun and it was great. Food was tasty, made fresh and decent pricing. So good we went back again!

Food and drinks were perfect, exactly what we wanted. The service was exceptional, everyone was working hard during a busy morning so produce meals to the highest standards whilst being helpful, polite and efficient. Highly recommend waiting for a seat here.

Badly run cafe. With the staff/customer ratio they have you would expect to get served quickly but good luck if they pay you any attention. Just one person taking orders and the rest of the staff standing around chatting. After they messed up my order and forgot my food they couldn’t even be bothered to bring me a coffee while I waited - when I asked they just said sorry it’ll be a while before we can find someone to take your order - and then went back to chatting with colleagues. In total spent over an hour here to get 1 sausage roll and then gave up waiting for a coffee, it wasn’t even full.

Étonnant café, l’entrée se fait par le magasin. On y trouve de tout: livre, tapis, peinture, bougies… Le lieu propose même des ateliers créatifs pour enfants (peinture). Nous avons petit déjeuner au café. C’était excellent ! Avec une option végétarienne et Vegan ! Je recommande

Pretty good for a cafe, veggie breakfast was a bit lacking compared to the main one.

Was quite happily waiting for waiter to clear table when a waitress butted in was rude and snappy. Her attitude meant we left without ordering. We ended to going to a cafe in the town center which was more expensive but the cost was worth it to be served with a smile.

Didn’t eat here because the chef kept sticking his finger in his nose and touching the kitchen and towels. When we told the other staff they brushed it off and didn’t care.

Opening times are from 9am to 4pm, 7 days a week. Beautifully decorated place. Sadly, had a few mix-ups making me give only 3 stars. Looked at a menu page and asked for the pancakes there which were for desert even tho under breakfast category, and they give me pancakes with bacon, which were under same name, same category but different menu page. Then when to leave the lady run after me next to exit, pulling me out of a crowd saying that my payment didn't go through, even if the POS said Approved and the app showed the transaction, making me feel extremely embarassed. All because her computer program (completely separate from POS) shorted for that second when I paid and didn't show her that payment went through.

Great place just out of town on a retail/industrial estate but very posh and with great service and food. Really recommend highly!

Unfortunately I was the only one out of the 4 of us who enjoyed our breakfast this morning. We came here a few years ago and the menu seems to have changed significantly. I think the portions on the kids pancakes is a bit miserly too. Shame as it’s quite local to where we stay. Service was good though and was clean tidy.

We searched out this place as is offered a good vegan menu. The food did not disappoint and the vegans in our party were delighted. Service was very efficient.

THE best breakfast I've ever had in a cafe. The breakfast feast truly delivers on its banquet oriented promise and will satisfy any hangover hunger. Whilst the overall content was within established norms of a Scottish breakfast the delivery was fantastic. The black pudding and haggis retained the moisture so often lacking in such plates along with the perfectly cooked egg. The baked bean volume was the perfect alternate moisture delivery system, and no, I did not run dry on beans by the end of the plate, amazing bean judgement. Flip over the tattie scone over and BOOM, two ... TWO!! perfect sausages. Friendly service and some excellent tunes cascading from the kitchen rounded this experience off nicely. My wife had the French toast which also lambasted previous attempts in other establishments into the shade. Thankyou!

Sind wegen der guten Bewertungen hierher. Leider doch enttäuschend. Der Service, der Kuchen und der Americano waren gut. Durch eine Lüftungsanlage ist es jedoch ziemlich laut. Der Cappuccino schmeckte wie angerührt. Wir sind um 15.00 Uhr dort gewesen. Das Personal hat bereits begonnen die Stühle hochzustellen und zu fegen. Öffnungszeit ist bis 16.00 Uhr. Keine entspannte Atmosphäre.

Really lovely, cozy, breakfast spot. My partner went to do some work on his computer and they were really accommodating. They seem to also do ceramic painting. Highly recommend this quaint spot!!

Their vegan breakfast roll and pancakes are amazing! Great way to fuel for a hike. The atmosphere and staff are also lovely.
