Elgol Shop in Highland

After visiting the Elgol shop (which is attached to the village hall) numerous times over the years and enjoyed excellent coffee and cakes we were disappointed to find it's all changed and is now called the Elgol Cafe and is under new management. It's early days as they've only just opened, but we weren't impressed. The cake was nice, but the coffee and service need improvement. Walkers and campers on the Skye Trail should note that basic provisions are no longer sold in the shop. We were pleased to find the Creel van down at Elgol pier is still there and sells the magnificent Elgolian rolls.

We visited on a Sunday so the main shop was closed, but we had coffee, cake and a Salmon bagel from the caravan. Everything was delicious and the ladies running it all were very helpful and friendly.

Popped in during my walk of the Skye Trail, and had a fantastic cup of coffee and nice chat. But best by far were the lobster filled rolls - fantastic! In fact I went back and bought more. Yum!

This place is at the end of a 15mile one-lane road with passing places and some scenery but nothing as dramatic as elsewhere on the island. Our soups were OK.

Estábamos bajando por la carretera al embarcadero de casa y realmente nos gustó tener por algunos decente cerca de café. La tienda tiene algunas cosas para que sea bastante fácil de conseguir lo esencial sin tener que conducir de vuelta a Broadford. Me encantó el regalo localmente.

Da kyleakin a Elgol è una strada stupenda e l'Elgol Shop merita una visita , è una realtànon facile da trovare in quanto si trova quasi sul retro dell'ultimo caseggiato prima di fare la discesa al porticciolo , ottimo il caffè' ed il panorama e' favoloso .Simpaticissima la signora al bar .-

Nach 25 Minuten Single Track Fahrt von Broadford erreichten wir diese tolle Gegend. Da wir uns den Wind sehr heftig um die Ohren wehen ließen, waren wir sehr froh über den Tipp hier einkehren zu können.Am Ende der Welt gab es sogar eine Siebträger Maschine welche für einen guten Kaffee sorgte und der selbst gemachte Kuchen sowie die leckere Suppe sorgten für eine ordentliche Stärkung. Der Service war sehr freundlich und der Aufenthalt kurzweilig.

Una pequeña cafetería en el tranquilo pueblo de elgol. Pasamos poco tiempo aquí como nos fuimos hasta que pudimos conducir no más y había elgol. Aparecimos aquí para un té y bizcocho, compré una taza de recuerdo, tomó en el elgol de magníficos paisajes y nos detrás de la manera en que vinieron.Un lugar encantador.

A partir de Broadford, par une petite route très étroite (B8083) aux pieds des Cuillins, on traverse l’un des plus beau paysage de l’île pour arriver à Elgol, petit village de pêcheurs. C’est là que se trouve cette boutique, à la fois petite épicerie, articles souvenirs, café et restaurant.Les gâteaux, scones et autres goodies sont extra et les soupes et les salades également.Si l’on a de la chance, on peut déguster un le "Elgolian", sorte de rouleau rempli de homards pêchés localement.Trois grandes tables à l’extérieur et 2 petites à l’intérieur.Parfaite halte déjeuner avant d’aller faire un tour en bateau à bord de la Bella-Jane au départ du petit port en contrebas.A voir absolument

Fuimos a ver el maravilloso Elgol vistas, pero no había vista ese día debido a las nubes y la lluvia. Sin embargo, encontramos la tienda de café. Qué ingenioso uso de un espacio muy pequeño. Como sólo había dos mesas pequeñas, compartimos la mesa con dos turistas estadounidenses y tuvimos una conversación muy interesante con una taza de café encantador. Había incluso café descafeinado café de filtro, que era difícil de encontrar en la zona de Escocia. El personal era amable y dispuesto a responder a nuestras preguntas sobre la zona. Bien merece una visita.

Una pequeña joya escondida en la parte de atrás de la sala village... sin duda vale la pena oler y descubrir si están en la zona. Pastel delicioso, enormes ollas de té, una bonita y pequeña tienda, aseos. Muchos bancos fuera, con excelentes vistas de las colinas es perfecto para los senderistas, los dueños de perros, etc... Sopas del día, bocadillos y un montón de cosas locales como de quats" (colas de langosta dóblese hacia). Ñam ñam!

For a small space there's a lot packed in! Fresh off the boat squat lobster tails made a delicious alternative to prawn Marie rose roll, and a good selection of home made scones and cakes. A small range of locally made crafts too.

The sandwich selection is limited, but the cheese salad roll was tasty and fresh. Very good cakes. There isn't much space to sit inside, but on a sunny day the brightly painted picnic tables outside give good views.

Instalación Elgol Shop es un fantástico, tan fantástico que tuvimos un desayuno de boda mini allí después eloping en mayo! El propietario fue encantador y muy servicial. Muy sabrosos cafés, tés y pasteles, trata, precioso, todo servido con una sonrisa y a precios muy razonables. También stock algunos locales de artesanías y recuerdos. También muy práctico horario! Una agradable sorpresa. Servicio cordial, una taza de té y deliciosos pasteles sandwich victoria eran exactamente lo que necesitábamos después de un largo paseo. También era sopa caliente y un rollo. Había un par de mesas dentro de la tienda y más afuera. Una parada útil para los senderistas y visitantes un largo camino de mucho más.

Después de un largo viaje en coche carretera muy sinuosa a Elgol nos dimos cuenta de que aparte de la preciosa (aunque un poco vista exagerado en nuestro libro tour) hay dos razones para estar aquí. La primera es una excursión en barco, que no hacer. Pero la segunda es visitar la tienda Elgol. La propietaria es una delicia y mi cortado café espresso y un bollo era de primera clase! Así que lo siento no vamos a la vuelta de la esquina de donde yo vivo.

Nos Elgol en día caminando a través de seis de los Trail Skye y nos decepcionó que la habitación té estaba cerrado. Caminamos un poco más y encontré la tienda/cafetería y estaban muy emocionados de ver que tenía todo lo que queríamos después de seis días de caminata! Si es café y bollos en el desayuno o la sopa y un rollo en el almuerzo o helado en el sol abrasador (y hemos hecho todos tres) Elgol Shop es una acogedora bienvenida. La tienda también tiene una gran selección de artículos esenciales (nunca se sabe cuando necesitarás salsa worchestershire - tenían que.) y un montón de artesanías locales, tarjetas y regalos. El único inconveniente es que los pasteles son muy excelentes para probar!

Nos dimos un paseo en coche a Elgol el día tras una tormenta Abigail a principios de noviembre. No esperábamos encontrar cualquier cafeterías abiertas. El que pasamos en los Harveys hasta Torrin (Blue Shed cafe) estaba cerrada hasta la primavera. Luego encontramos Elgol tienda que hay una cafetería y una tienda de regalos. No hay comida disponible (temporada turística más) pero el café de estilo italiano era, así que pedimos un café con leche y un Americano, compré algo quebradiza de la tienda y me senté en una de las dos mesas interiores y conversamos con el propietario acerca de vivir en el borde en Elgol. Al ser una tienda siempre va a estar abierto en invierno para una bebida caliente. Un buen descubrimiento.

Después de nuestro barco de Isle viaje de Misty que habíamos planeado para conseguir algo de comer aquí, pero estábamos apurados. volvimos varios días más tarde y nos sorprendió gratamente. Teníamos la sopa del día y split un sandwich. Excelente! Nuestra joven anfitrión de la señora era muy amable y servicial con información local. Sólo hay unas pocas mesas, ten paciencia. Gracias

great little community store with tea room - fresh soup, sandwiches, cookies, just what you need to warm up after a walk to Lake Coruisk

Este fue un pequeño lugar con encanto y algunos de los mejores pasteles y bocadillos. El café sin embargo era una cuestión diferente, pedí un café Americano y recibimos lo que creo que era un Cappicino. Aún así, sabía muy bien y me fui. No dudaría en recomendar este hotel para lite-picaduras.

El Elgol Shop es un gran lugar para tomar un bollo y té antes de dirigirse a las lejanas Cuillins- para una caminata. A group of us stopped for an ice cream. Such helpful staff, nothing was too much bother. Lots of local knowledge which they took time to share with us. Plenty of good quality gifts.

Si te encuentras en esta hermosa ubicación en la Isla de Skye, recomendaría encarecidamente visitar aquí por la excelente sopa, bollos squat de langosta y horneado. El personal es muy amable y aunque una pequeña establecer venden tarjetas preciosos y algunos obsequios de calidad .

Sólo una tienda de la comunidad, pero tiene una pequeña cafetería tanto por dentro y por fuera, bollos recién horneados, etc. y algunos regalos. También a unos comestibles, etc. , así que si llegas en Elgol sin comida para un viaje en barco no te faltarán. Tiene un muy básico wc y algún aparcamiento y está por detrás las ( muy básico ) aseos públicos.

Had all of the camping essentials needed and food/drink to stock up on. Also sells other travelling essentials from a pack of cards to string and everything in between. Asides from a seasonal tea room, the shop is the only place to buy anything.

Después nos maravillo las vistas al otro lado del lago, y ha sorprendido de ver una escuela primaria ubicado literalmente en la playa, diríjase por la colina hasta el hall del pueblo y la tienda Elgol. Pequeña pero perfectamente formada; fuera mesas con flores frescas, porcelana china tazas (están a la venta también) y una opción de excelente traybakes y pasteles. La porción malteser ofrece una fiebre del azúcar como nada más. Incluso hay una estantería de la caridad con caja de honestidad, así que puedes tener una buena lectura de una buena cerveza. ¿Qué podría ser mejor?

Gran lugar para té, café, pasteles y bollos. El lugar es bastante pequeño con única habitación para un máximo de 6 por dentro. Hay un par de mesas en el exterior. Genial cuando es un buen día. Después de viajar por la carretera única pista entre Broadford y Ergol, los precios estaban cobrando eran razonables. También nos recogió un CD en un local banda llamada 'hierro Midden in' para el precio de ganga de 10 libras. Genial escuchar la carretera.

En un día frío húmedo junio nos tropezamos con esta pequeña tienda en el centro de la Comunidad y guau, fue increíble.

En una visita a Sky nos aconsejaron que hacen que el viaje a Elgol y debo decir que fue un viaje que merece la pena, el aparcamiento era un poco de un problema, ya que obviamente la voz, vale la pena una visita, y el café está muy bien, pero las vistas son mejores.
