Pine and Bamboo in Dumfries & Galloway

We had a fabulous take away meal from here the other week whilst house sitting for friends in Dumfries. The meal was delivered hot and in the time they suggested it would be. Their chilli beef was hot and savoury, and there was so much food we had enough leftover for a 2nd meal.

Overall the best chinese in the town

It's just a takeaway, but simply the best,food is delicious 😋

The first time I have been to this Chinese was recommended by friends, and it didn't disappoint. I will definitely be back.

Really good place made my food quickly and it was nice.

I had heard this was one of the best in Dumfries. Went for the first time last night and had Special Fried Rice and Chicken Chow Mein. Both dishes were awful. I’ve never had thick brown gravy on top of special fried rice and the Chow Mein was so salty I couldn’t eat it as I am on a low salt diet. I won’t risk going again as take away for me is a treat and not something I can afford every week so can’t risk not liking dishes I know I like but we’re unedable to me from here.

Excellent service Excellent food

Used to be my favourite Chinese in Dumfries. The food is still good but they ignore the phone at the weekend (you can hear it ringing constantly if you go in) and the last couple of times we used them they got our order wrong. We go elsewhere now

Was told my takeaway was £10-20. When I checked my banking over a week later I had been charged £14-20. Didn't go back a query it as I didnhave a receipt.

1st visit as our usual go-to Chinese takeaway was unexpectedly closed. Turned out to be a fortuitous opportunity as the place is bright and clean and the food that we ordered was excellent.

Great food and cater for gluten free requirements. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Accepts contactless payments which is a rarity in Chinese takeaways in Dumfries. During busy periods it can take a long time to get an answer when trying to order by phone.

My favourite Chinese take away in Dumfries! We phone ahead and after 10-15 minutes, it's ready to collect, and very reasonably priced. The meal is always piping hot, the service is always good, and personally would never order my take away from anywhere else....

It's okay not great the duck dish was almost pure fat.

Carryout Wide variety of food. Popular as queue awaiting orders. Food was reasonable but not exciting. Rice is an extra payment on top of most dishes.

Decent food and generous portions. We phoned ahead and food was ready for collection when we arrived. Very reasonably prices too. An online menu would be helpful. No printed menus available either to take away for next time - would be useful for phoning order ahead. .....although if truth be told - I usually order the same couple of dishes anyway!

Was disappointed after reading the other reviews. My meal was cold, and the salt and pepper chicken pieces were stuck together, also was very dry and tasteless. The salt and pepper ribs tasted stale.My friends meal was a huge portion, too much really. Had been really looking forward to the meal. Plus side, the person who took my order over the phone was very pleasant. Sorry, but wouldn't use this restaurant again.

Best Chinese in town been going here for years highly recommend the chicken curry, and salt and chilli dishes also their Cantonese spring rolls absolutely delicious

The food is good protions and the food is made freshly when you place you're order and the food is also delious and I would recommend this Chinese takeaway to anyone as its the best Chinese I have found in the town.

First time trying this place yesterday and gotta say it's got the best salt and pepper chicken in town. Will be back there for sure.

Just had the most disgusting greasy Chinese takeaway meal... the prawns in the king prawn chow mein were tiny... most definitely not king prawns! Everything was saturated in grease and like mush... the spring rolls, the onion rings and the chow mein... All thrown in the bin... will not be back!

Lovely food very generous portions

Staying in the area for a few days and tried this place. Pretty good food and a great curry sauce. Note though, at this time of writing (March 2019), they do NOT deliver.

First time at going here and was not disappointed I got chicken curry and fried rice and it was lovely. It was spicy but that didn't stop me eating it. My kids had chicken balls and sauce and they loved it. The only thing was there was loads and 1 cud of done them all. And to our surprise there was a free crispy chicken curry that came with it that it was written on the top of dish free. Will defo be going back. It was really busy when we went to collect. Which says a lot to me.

On holiday and fancied a Chinese, saw the Pine and Bamboo on Glasgow Rd, ordered our favourite dishes like we would at home and OMG it was amazing. Far better than the restaurant takeaway that we get at home. Don't be deterred by the basic appearance of the premises, this is the best Chinese we have eaten in a long while. Excellent value for money as well.
