We had a lovely trip out to this garden centre today. Beautifully laid out with a great choice of plants. What prompted me to come here and leave a review was the truly excellent staff in the coffee shop. One lady in particular was so warm and welcoming. She obviously has a great rapport with her cafe colleagues too and together they create a fantastic atmosphere to enjoy your treats! Well done folks- you deserve all the acknowledgements and rewards that hopefully come your way. Keep up the high standards!

Always a busy place and usually a great place for lunch but recently the staff seem overwhelmed on a Sunday. Not impressed with the cake ordering process as ourselves and other people didn’t get the cakes we ordered as they were given away to others, they need to rethink that side of the kitchen as it takes an age waiting for cake if ordered separate to main meals.

My friend and I came for lunch last Wednesday and I can honestly say my soup was the best I’ve ever tasted. It was monkfish chowder, compliments to the chef and I’ll totally recommend this, my friend had the broccoli and Stilton, which she said too, was very tasty, both served with a cheese scone. The service was excellent, although they were busy, cheery staff made nice conversation with all the customers, a lot of who were locals. Lovely atmosphere.

Paid a visit today and have to say we (4 in group) will have to think whether we return. I believe the main baker has left and boy is this obvious. Standards are no where near as they were. Even the side salad, which used to be lovely, is dreadful and smothered in salad cream. The ratatouille at £8 was a disgrace, supposed to be served with garlic bread, in reality it was a dried bit of bread with salad cream on it! Was more of a side dish than one of the main 'hot dishes'

The food was excellent and the service was fast and friendly. We had hoagy's with a side salad with honey and mustard dressing and Moroccan style couscous. I was a bit concerned as to whether my husband would like the couscous or the dressing but both were devoured with much gusto. Munros is well worth a visit for quality and service. Menu has deteriorated. Used to be a wider selection. Can't get an ordinary bread sandwich it seems and "ciabatta Panini" (not encountered that before!) was as hard as a brick when toasted and almost impossible to eat - had to give up and leave the last bit. Cheesecakes and meringues good but other cakes are heavy and stodgy and did not appeal to me. Often seem to run out of bigger cups for a "large" coffee as this has happened to me on more than one occasion. Lovely to sit in the extension or outside. Staff pleasant but not particularly chatty - perhaps too young to know how to engage with customers? We still use this place but not as often as we used to as the menu does not appeal in the way it used to.

I've been to Munro's coffee shop quite a few times over the past few years and always been impressed and word seems to have spread because it's got busier and busier. So I was delighted on my recent visit to see the new and extremely well done extension. It's light and airy with lovely checked table cloths. It looks 'fresh' without looking 'new'. You always get a warm welcome and a smile from the staff and the food is delicious. There's a good menu of sandwiches/paninis /soup etc and its always hard to choose because its all delicious. The kitchen is open so you can see the staff making the food. The staff are always happy to give you exactly what you ask for -I have one friend who can't eat onions and another who is very particular about her coffee - and the staff have always taken it in their stride. nothing is too much trouble.

Called for coffee and so pleased we did. Friendly staff, hot black coffee & jug of milk not a problem (which makes a change) fresh scone & very good home-made Bakewell Slice which hubby had - no chance of a wee taste for me. Order at counter & all brought to table...view from coffee shop into the nursery/garden centre. Had to have a look around the nurseries - wonderful choice of good quality plants, good prices too. Not full of all the "additional" things that Dobbies & alike seem to be rather keen on. Will definately go there again for cafe & plants.

I have just returned from a brief, but highly enjoyable visit to the delightful Munro's Nurseries. It was not my first visit, and it will most certainly not be my last. I haven't felt the need to report on Trip advisor in the past particularly often, however New Year, New Resolutions yada yada......... we rarely compliment those that deserve it but are quick to point out the most menial of faults. So, here we are, my little review..........

Won't be back the owner is so rude . If you pay for drinks in a pub hotel . You expect a thank you. Total anti children our three year old was chatting and we Heard the owners rude comment about him . Also we took her seat . The poor lass who runs hand and foot for this person is so friendly it's the only reason we stayed so long . Won't be back and won't recommend to any of our family and friends that visit the port . Maybe someone will take over the Caledonian and make it a hotel and pub again . We have been visiting the port for 40 years and haven't experienced the unfriendly signal we got from the castle hotel .

What a fantastic find on our recent visit to Inverness. Brilliant wee cafe with extremely friendly staff. Great menu and selection of fresh cakes. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and to top it all they are doggy friendly which meant we didn’t need to leave our 14yr old pooch in the car. Would definitely recommend a visit.
