We visited on a Sunday so the main shop was closed, but we had coffee, cake and a Salmon bagel from the caravan. Everything was delicious and the ladies running it all were very helpful and friendly.

Popped in during my walk of the Skye Trail, and had a fantastic cup of coffee and nice chat. But best by far were the lobster filled rolls - fantastic! In fact I went back and bought more. Yum!

We stopped in just for a coffee and the guy who was there in charge of boat trips et all was absolutely charming. We had a lñong chat and he told us about his travels and the joys of living and working where he did, Great to meet someone who seemed perfectly contented. Thanks, you brightened up our day,

Good to have a shop in Elgol, and the young lady serving was lovely, but the ice creams were a tad disappointing! We ordered 5 ice creams; they only had whippy ice cream and the cheap wafer cones, and they’d run out of flakes but still charged us for them and didn’t offer anything else (they had sprinkles and fudge pieces they could have put on!). Two of the five ice creams apparently were with ‘the works’… but the portion was really small and I wouldn’t call some sauce and sprinkles the works! Disappointed!

Really lovely food and drink after our boat trip and the elgolian roll was just delicious and very reasonably priced. The homemade sweet treats looked lovely and fantastic service with a smile!

In search of food after a boat trip we stopped here. They were happy to make up rolls for us and had home made pastries (the sausage roll with mango chutney was particularly good) And hot drinks. Some soup would be great but then the weather should be getting better now! Cute gifts for sale aswell! A little expensive but it is out of the way and it’s nice to support the local community.

Hermione and staff always make you feel very welcome when visiting the shop or 'wee slice' near the pier. Lots of lovely baked goods on offer and the shop is well stocked with essentials you might need!

What a great little shop, you won’t believe how much stock they have, and variety in such a remote location. Literally saved us from the 1.5hr round trip to Broadford on several occasions.

If you go to Skye, you have to come here. The 15 mile drive from Broadford is mind blowing. The scenery just gets better and better and at the end of it is the little gem that is the Elgol shop. The coffee was superb and the fruit cake went down a treat. A really pleasant surprise.

Beware, always buy your provisions before you set off for the day, we survived on a bottle of water and a couple of chewy bars between four of us and a six hour walk!

We know the Tongue area very well, and like to eat locally, so it was obvious we would decide to eat at the Craggan, and i'm happy we did! The restaurant area is welcoming and clean, staff friendly, and the car park was easy even with a big van. The only problem was choosing from the menu! So many tasty things - i wish we had more time to visit again.. All three of us enjoyed our food, and we shared everything so i know it was all delicious. Thank you for making a rather wet evening so special..

I recently had the pleasure of spending a delightful day at Dores Inn, and I still find myself reminiscing about the experience six months later. Nestled along the shores of the iconic Loch Ness, this charming inn offers a perfect blend of stunning views, a warm atmosphere, and exceptional service. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a lovely ambiance that sets the tone for a relaxing visit. The inn has ample seating, both indoors and outdoors, making it easy to find a cozy spot to enjoy the picturesque scenery. We opted for an outside table, and it turned out to be the best decision of the day. The views of the loch were absolutely breathtaking, providing a serene backdrop for our meal. Speaking of the meal, I must rave about the food—simply sublime! I usually find coleslaw unappealing, but Dores Inn's homemade version was a game changer. It was fresh, flavorful, and complemented our dishes beautifully. Every bite was a testament to the culinary care that goes into their offerings. After our satisfying meal, we joined a Rib-Boat journey on the loch, which was an exhilarating way to experience the surroundings. The thrill of speeding across the water, combined with the breathtaking views of the loch and its mythical charm, made for an unforgettable adventure. As a memento of our day, I couldn't resist purchasing one of their handmade crochet teddies of Nessie. It's now a cherished keepsake that brings back fond memories of our visit. To wrap up our day, we took a leisurely walk along the shoreline. The tranquility of the loch, coupled with the stunning natural beauty surrounding us, was the perfect ending to a fantastic day. Overall, Dores Inn exceeded my expectations in every way. From the lovely atmosphere and great views to the delectable food and friendly service, it’s a place I highly recommend. If you're looking for an exceptional day out near Loch Ness, don’t miss the opportunity to visit this gem. I still think about that wonderful day, and I can’t wait to return!

We both had the Sunday Roast which was ok but we had to order extra gravy which is the 1st time I’ve ever been charged for extra gravy. The restaurant was very quiet only a couple of tables in and the service was ok
