We have been here many times and have always enjoyed the food and service. We had 2 plates of soup and bread which we enjoyed. The bill was £1.40 more expensive than the cost of the soup.We were told this was for the water.I said you charge for CV old tap water and was told the water is free it's the serving of the water they are charging for. This charge is ridiculous and nowhere else I have been charge for tap water.I may have missed the mention of a service charge on the menu however surely the customer should decide whether to tip or not for good service. I see there has been a previous review for charging for hot water which I understand but disappointed in this establishment for our charge. Not keen to return now.

This is the first time we had been to this cafe and we will definitely be back. I'm coeliac and the menu is clearly marked for vegans, vegetarians and GF. I had the most delicious 3 egg omelette with hand cut chips. I picked red onion, chicken, chorizo and peppers. Has to be the best omelette I have had in any restaurant. Seasoning was perfect and the herbs in it were so good. My wife had the lentil and vegetable soup with sourdough bread which she said was beautiful. Our friend had a 2 egg omelette and hand cut chips. We had coffee which was really nice. The staff were so attentive and friendly. The place is spotless and we went downstairs where there are lovely leather sofas. The prices are very reasonable compared to other cafes in the area. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

Met a friend at Choices for coffee. We were told we had to sit on the windowsill seats because we weren’t buying food. If my friend hadn’t ordered our drinks before I’d arrived I would have left then because the cafe wasn’t busy and this seating isn’t comfortable. I went up to counter to ask for more hot water for a rather grumpy lady to say to her younger colleague, ‘see what she wants’ !When paying the bill I noticed I’d been charged a surcharge for the water. When I queried it I was met with the surly reply ‘you pay for water in here’. We go out for coffee regularly in Dunblane and I’ve never encountered such rudeness. There are so many nearby cafes we can visit in the area where the staff are pleasant , we certainly won’t be back in Choices.

A firm weekend favourite with us, whether dropping by for breakfast after a morning walk with the dog, or just a coffee or a hot chocolate. Always a friendly welcome and plenty of variety and fresh food. A great variety of freshly made dishes on a menu - with most dietary preference looked after. We love the cooked to order omelettes - with a little spring onion, or the fabulous croque monsieur for a Saturday breakfast. Or a perfect bacon roll. There is more than one reason we come back every week: - great food - great service - lovely to see young people enjoying their first job - always a warm welcome for my little sprocker, even when she’s been playing in the river 😊 Highly recommend

In the past, Choices Cafe, with its warm and welcoming atmosphere, was a delight to visit. An endearing elderly couple who prioritised customer satisfaction above all else, managed the establishment. Each visit felt like a cherished reunion, and the dining experience was always top-notch. Fast forward to today, and sadly, Choices Cafe has changed dramatically. The once cherished establishment has been taken over by new management, and the change has not been for the better. As a lifelong vegetarian, my food choices are an integral part of my identity and principles. I was disheartened and disgusted to find that my supposed vegetarian meal contained meat during my recent visit. This was not merely an oversight but a clear disregard for customer preferences and dietary restrictions. While the staff did replace my meal after the error was identified, the experience was already marred. It was unsettling that a cafe of such previous repute could make such a glaring mistake. The situation escalated at the time of payment. The management still charged us for the dish that they had wrongly served. There was no offer of a complimentary dessert, no gesture of goodwill, not even the courtesy of removing the wrongly served dish from the bill. The lack of understanding and empathy was astonishing. Most establishments would have made an effort to rectify such an error. This incident, however, leaves a bitter aftertaste and discourages loyal patrons like myself from returning. Choices Cafe seems to have veered far off its original path. Hospitality is about understanding, respecting, and prioritising customer needs. It's disheartening to see the place stray from its admirable past. In summary, the name 'Choices Cafe' now carries a note of irony as my recent experience suggests a lack of respect for customer choices. Unless the management significantly changes its approach to customer service, I worry that Choices Cafe will continue to lose its once loyal patrons.

Came in here for coffee in the morning and were served by a lovely lady. We were a group of 8. Headed out on a long hike and we had decided to stop in here for drinks and a snack before getting the train home. Was served by a young girl. Bought a hot drink and asked if I could have some tap water in my bottle and was told no from a grumpy woman eating at a table. I had originally thought she was a customer. I left and met the other 7 at the top of the street and we headed to another place - where we were treated like humans. These two visits were chalk and cheese - just shows how much a bit of customer service matters. This is a licenced premises and it’s actually illegal to not supply drinking water. Someone needs to tell the staff.

When we saw that Choices was dog friendly, we called in for some lunch. Although the woman behind the counter appeared very grumpy, the young staff members were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our lunch but it was only a few days later that we had a look at the receipt and saw that we'd been charged £1.50 for two small glasses of water! How ridiculous is this? I wonder how many people actually check their receipts? We will certainly never be back.

We popped in while having a wander around Dunblane, having seen it was dog friendly and with us having our old beagle with us. We were met with a friendly greeting from the staff and also some customers who appeared to be regulars. We were very pleasantly surprised by the range of choice on the menu and very much enjoyed our lunch choices of a croque monsieur and open beef sandwich, with very good coffee alongside though we could also see some well chosen bottled ale on the shelf had we wanted to take that option. This place does what it chooses to do very well - and that ought to appeal to the majority of people looking for a good breakfast/lunch option - and we're happy to thoroughly recommend it.

We stopped in for a late lunch after perusing Dunblane high street the day before we came home when we had eaten so much on our short break and were not particularly hungry. They had just the right thing in amongst their extensive menu. I had a a garlic bread bruschetta with mixed salad and vinaigrette which was absolutely wonderful and just the right amount but still plenty of salad so I could feel virtuous about it. My husband had a Brie and caramelised onion sandwich with salad and coleslaw which he declared was lovely too. The staff were so welcoming and the only downside was that I think I had a blunt knife as it took me a while to cut through the crust of the great sourdough garlic bread I was eating and it did look rather blunt. However I valiantly struggled through -martyr that I am . Great coffee too .well worth a visit. Nice staff.

Normally a very good little cafe with fairly attentive service. Had just finished a light lunch and was about to order some sweets for my two boys - but was put off when 2 dogs were brought into the cafe and sat with their owners. The dogs did not appear to be guide dogs and lay blocking the entrance way. The dog owners were not challenged by staff. Worse was that the staff (i.e. the food handlers) went over and were clapping and stroking the dogs and letting them jump on them.

I do not agree with Viewlander' s negative review as I was also in for lunch with my wife yesterday and had a completely different experience. The place has been beautifully refurbished and offers an extensive cafe menu. Obviously you have to attract the waitress's attention before being served but that is the norm for all restaurants. I don't actually like the popular trend in many other restaurants in which the waitresses keep turning up at your table to ask you how your meal is. I found the food to be of good quality and I will certainly come back Recommended..

This 'Deli' has recently been taken under new ownership. I used to think that the previous owner Nico and his lovely wife, were only playing at running a Deli. He asked me if I would like any sauce for my breakfast one morning. I said "Yes" and he promptly squirted streams of HP from a plastic bottle, all over my plate!!These new folk however, rarely seem to be open for a full week. I am constantly being met at their door with, "This shop will be closed on ...blah blah blah" Just not good enough when trying to establish a new business. That would be fair enough if upgrading was taking place when closed, but NOTHING has changed. I had hoped that after it had been taken over, we would see much improvements. Sadly, this didn't happen! It is now very poorly stocked and anything you ask for, they've conveniently ran out of it!

Unfortuantely places like this are few and far between. Choices is a Deli and Cafe all rolled into one. Just popped in for lunch and coffee. Friendly people work here, a good vibe from the other customers. Decent coffee and decent sandwich as well.Great fun!!

Visited this morning for coffee. Ordered a cappuccino and a decaf. We got 2 cappuccinos both with caffeine.they offered to redo it but we'd waited long enough. Coffee was bitter (and I like it strong).

I sat in the sunshine, at a table outside this quaint deli and coffee shop. After a long walk, I was glad of a coffee and some cake. I was served promptly by very polite staff. The street was fairly busy with the odd car, van and truck going by, on the fairly narrow street. The noise was a little off putting, especially when vehicles were only 3 feet away! Notwithstanding, the plum cake was delicious and served with creamy ice-cream. Perfect with my latte. I would suggest that unless the road is very quiet, it is better to sit inside.

Un posto semplice, economico, con cibo di buona qualità. Unico appunto da muovere il fatto che il menù non contenesse molti piatti, anche se è un difetto di parecchi ristoranti-pub in Scozia. Servizio molto cortese.

The best coffee and hosts in Dunblane. It's a pleasure when a cafe and deli feels as if they really want customers to have a good experience. Honest, reliable and just a pleasant place to visit. Feels local and cosy.

Stopped here on way hone to Glasgow. Owner could not have been more helpful and we had lovely scones with butter, jam and a touch of cream. We sat outside so didn't see a lot of the interior but cakes and service great.

We visited Dunblane on Sunday afternoon when Andy Murray was playing in the Men's Final at Wimbledon. The place was deserted but the pubs and cafes with TV screens were packed. Choices is an independently owned deli with a few tables and no TV. We were made very welcome and served with lovely warm cake toffee for him and plum for me) with two scoops of ice cream and a couple of good cappuccinos. The owner was interested in my iPhone's ability to tell him the tennis score!

We stopped in at Dunblane to look for a coffee and a bite to eat during a long journey, and went into the first place we found, which was "Choices" deli. We found there the most attentive, efficient, polite and friendly service from the owners, as well as good-quality food at a very fair price. The owners cannot do enough to look after you. We shall make a point of stopping in again the next time we are passing.

Bacon and brie panini cooked perfectly with nice coffee on the side. Was recommended to us by a local who waxed lyrical about it. Nice outside seating for a sunny day. Very pleased to have popped in here and a lovely shop and deli counter to browse.

I appreciated the generosity and warmth of the owner. Decent food, generous servings. It was full the whole time I was there, with locals and visitors alike, and I can see why.

Popped in for a coffee & cake. The owner was so pleasant to everyone coming & going. Nothing would have been any problem for them to rustle up for us, but coffee & cake was all we required. Good coffee & lovely vanilla slice.

Having arrived in Dunblane to early to check in to our hotel we were looking for somewhere for a late lunch and choices didn't disappoint. We had the garden pea soup and shared a brie and cranberry panini followed by the most delicious peanut butter and salted caramel fudge cake with over cream and two coffees. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. Hope to return before going home

Four us us stopped here for breakfast passing through Dunblane. The breakfast was very nice and the owner could not do enough when serving us. I bought some Lasagne and cold meats etc from his deli cabinet and was pleased with them. I like the ambience in the cafe. The only thing that really annoyed me was that the windowsills were covered in black mould. Lets the place down when all it needs is a good clean when the cafe is quiet. Don't understand why this is neglected.

While wandering through Aberfoyle came across this little butchers. Glad we did, the Roll and sausage/ black pudding doubler was amazing, great value for £5 my son had the Steak roll also delicious. No hesitation in recommending this establishment. A wee day out, you have to pop in.

Excellent anniversary lunch. All of the dishes were delicious, friendly attentive staff and good value for the quality of the food. Burrata, chilli prawns to start, followed by market fish (hake - delicious) and salmon and lobster sauce pasta. Affogato and mint ice cream and chocolate choux bun to finish.

Stopped here on our way to Fort William and enjoyed it so much stopped here again on the way back. Food was superb, probably the best smoked Salmon I have tasted and the gentleman who served us was very jovial and made us feel very welcome. If you’re passing definitely worth stopping even just for a coffee and cake.
