Our first visit and won’t be our last. Welcomed by the amazing Wendy who showed us to our table. She was so friendly and attentive during our visit. She is a great ambassador for the company. Menu is varied and caters for all tastes. Great atmosphere and we will be back soon. A must visit location when in the area.
We had earmarked this place for breakfast one morning and rushed to get down before they stopped serving brekkie at 11:30. We arrived just after but they managed to accommodate us. As I ordered a full Scottish for my husband, I was absolutely delighted to see a gluten-free breakfast listed on the menu. Even the sausage was GF! Other coeliacs might understand that a GF snag is often a bonus when looking for a full fried breakfast. The breakfast arrived with orange juice and a pot of tea as well. Mine was absolutely brilliant. The added addition of haggis (which was not listed on the menu) was a treat since it’s rare to find gluten-free haggis anywhere.
Tea was piping hot, the service was impeccable and overall we really enjoyed our visit. Lots of locals with the dogs popping in while we were there and it was nice to see lots frequenting the café. We thought it might be difficult to find somewhere open on a Monday, and indeed some other places were shut, but we were delighted to find Caroline’s was open. Very clean toilets as well.
Had a late lunch at the cafe last week prior to a couple of hours in Campbletown and returning for an overnight at The House which is part of the same business. Super nice people made us welcome and the food (lunch and breakfast next morning) was delicious. Very clean cafe and stores and I'll say again the very nicest of staff. Would return and recommend without hesitation. This is how a business should be run and why it apprears to be so successful. An all round good experience.
Found this little place on google maps and wasn’t disappointed. Great beers all served as a third of a pint within a cosy building. Can definitely recommend the Black Isle IPA. There is also a small menu of burgers, which were very tasty and reasonably priced. All in all a very happy find and I shall return when I’m next in Edinburgh.
At that time of day and good meal in quiet yet pleasant surroundings.
Also able to see the table advert for dinner and dances with over night accommodation at readinable prices.
Wife and I had lunch at the Glenbarr garden centre cafe. We were able to book a table online. The staff were really friendly and I had one of the best burgers I've ever had anywhere. Really tasty and succulent. Nice range of scottish produce in the shop.
Visited here Monday 23rd of September 2024. 6 of us had a brilliant meal and the staff are to be commended. Best pizza in a while. Hidden gem. Can’t wait to go back
Went to the pub because it advertised food on the website but when we got there, it turns out that they dont do food and havent for a while now. They even have a menu outside. Very disappointed so had a quick drink and left.Update your website.
Never have we been to a hotel with such friendly welcoming staff. Everyone we met showed us the greatest hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant on both nights of our stay and enjoyed the food and again the friendly attitude of the staff. Breakfast was varied with a choice of hot dishes including Arbroath smokies. Our room was spacious and warm with a view over the green. We will certainly return if we visit Montrose again. The birdwatching was good too!
