Amazing bunch/breakfast... Went for two Big Yins and they didn't disappoint. Black pudding was best I've ever had, melt in your mouth. Defo will be back in future.

Was in the area waiting to pick up my family from the SECC while they were there for an event, and being a little early decided to go grab a coffee. One of my favorite places to visit is the Steamie. Great little cafe where you get a warm welcome and sure to get a great cup of coffee. Good prices and a good place to visit if you find yourself in the area.

I'd stayed the night in Finnieston after a concert and was ready for a full Scottish breakfast. Cue the "Big Yin" at the Steamie Coffee Roasters - my mouth was watering just reading the menu description! I was greeted by a lovely, friendly man with very blue eyes who said I could sit anywhere so I picked a nice solo table right by the door. He took my drink order straight away which was fab as I was ready for it and he delivered one of the best (hot!) Americanos I've had in a while. My Big Yin was outstanding. You could taste the quality of the produce in each of the items. The bacon was properly crisp and salty, the sausages meaty and flavoursome, the black pudding crumbly and fragrant, the poached eggs bursting with rich yolk, the tomato perfectly sweet, the beans generous and served in one of those mini silver pans that I love, the hash brown was really crispy the way it should be, moreish potato scones (wish you got these on English breakfasts). The sourdough toast and Irish butter was top notch too. The only feedback is I would have liked my mushrooms cooked a bit longer but that's just my own preference and they were still delicious. As an FYI, this meal kept me full for about 12 hours so make sure you're hungry!!! I watched several other tables get their food and the appearance and quality of the pancakes and poached egg dishes all looked incredible. There were also some beautiful and very well behaved dogs in who were no bother at all. The staff were visible and there if you needed them, checking in to make sure all was ok without being intrusive and I was made to feel very welcome. Getting my bill was easy and the waiter was friendly and chatty again. Lovely guy! The English girl who works there is very good too and took good care of the other tables. I can't wait to find an excuse to come back to Glasgow as there is an incredible menu to work through here, as well as some scrummy looking cakes that sadly I was too full for. This was the last place I visited before walking down the Clyde (a lovely 2.4 mile walk to the City Centre that I highly recommend) and heading off on the train to Edinburgh and I was left in really great spirits thanks to my experience here. Well done on your lovely cafe, guys! Keep up the great work :)

On the plus side the food was good, although we did have to wait a while for it to arrive. We knew before going in that dogs were welcome. however, we did not expect the dogs to be allowed to sit on the chairs, and in one case bark constantly. By all means welcome dogs into cafe, but it is not acceptable that they sit on the chairs, and put their paws on the table! I would not visit again simply because I don’t want to sit on a chair that a dog has been on. Or be subjected to barking while I eat.

We had saw the good reviews on trip advisor and decided on quite a detour to our walk to visit the Steamie. On entering we were asked to find a table and someone would be with us. Within a few minutes someone gave us a menu and said they would soon be back. However after waiting a further 10 to 15 minutes and despite trying to attract someones attention we had still not had our order taken, then when 4 ladies came in and had their order taken straight away we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. The waiter looked really rough and scruffy anyway and was not even wearing a mask or exemption lanyard so in a way glad that we never got served anyway. On the upside we found an amazing cafe just a 2 minute walk away so they in fact did us a big favour. I don't normally leave these sort of reviews but this annoyed us very much and wasted 15 or so minutes when we could have been seeing more of the sights of Glasgow

We had to bridge the time between strolling through Glasgow and our dinner. The freezing temperatures literally moved us into that place. What a happy chance! The coffee was great, the place itself looked lovely and the Barista played music by local heroes "The Twilight Sad". Highly recommended!

Met a friend for tea/coffee and a snack at 1.00pm on 19 December 2019. There are two narrow areas crowded with tables with a serving counter in one where you go to place your order. There appeared to be one person in the kitchen visible through a serving hatch, one person behind the counter making coffees and one person doubling as order taker and waitress. There was a delay placing an order due to an issue they were having with their card payment device. There were a variety of appealing looking cakes on offer but when I asked if there was a food menu, I was told that the kitchen was closed as it was busy and I could have something to eat if I waited 20 minutes! Well, I guess the kitchen WOULD be busy at lunch time, so that explanation didn't make a lot of sense to me. When do they serve the "lunch time specials" then, mid afternoon? We moved tables rather than wait for them to clear our original table which had very low seats. My flat white arrived barely look warm, so I sent it back and drank the replacement though it could not have been described as hot, because I didn't have time to wait again and wasn't confident they could do better. I took a slice of flapjack, which was rock solid and thus very difficult to break up to eat. A cold coffee, a tea and one slice of hard flapjack for £8.60 (might be wrong with the pence); overpriced, understaffed and underwhelming.

Was in Finnieston a couple of weeks ago mid-morning and needed some coffee and breakfast. Wandered past The Steamie looked interesting and quirky so took the plunge. So glad we did! The decor is quirky and bespoke and cool. We took our seats which were repurposed bus seats! Awesome! Ordered a couple of lattes, huevos rancheros for me and French toast with bacon and caramelised bananas for my lovely wife. The coffee is dynamite. Super flavour. BUT THE FOOD! It's so good. If you sit in the right seat you can watch it being cooked fresh by the chef. My meal was fantastic, it was fresh flavoursome and just cooked perfectly. My better half said her meal was excellent too, especially the bananas! Then there are the cakes!! The girls working there were all lovely and chatty and the service was great. Fantastic wee gem of a place. So glad we decided to check it out! And all at a reasonable price! What more could you want? We will definitely be back.

I've been a regular here since Black Pine opened seven years ago, appearing at least once every week, and sometimes more frequently. Mostly I come on my own, but have also introduced friends and family. My experience of both the coffee and the service has always been extremely positive. Pete and the team have succeeded in creating a stylish, relaxed environment. They are a friendly lot, and like nothing better than a bit of backchat at the same time as serving up the best cup of coffee in the area. And I am VERY fussy about my coffee...I kid them on that I only come for the playlist, but that is simply not true. The place is inviting, the coffee is great, and the people are smart and funny as well as being good at their jobs. Now, guys, where's my free coffee?!!
