Cafe Sono in Glasgow City

Like a fellow customer who has written a review, the young guy is fly with the card machine, I do agree I should have checked, can of juice and kebab wrap charged £13. Will not return. Menu has £5 for kebab and £1 for can of juice. Just be careful could be doing this to another of folks.

The best donor kabab wrap!! Went twice and both times the food was very fresh. Staff is awesome and friendly. Great prices too. A small place so it may be hard to get a table but worth the wait!! Or they do takeaway.

Best breakfast in Glasgow city centre. It’s situated under Glasgow Central train station so you here the rumbles of the trains but to me that added to the good experience.

This is a fabulous spot for breakfast (or probably any meal)!!! We were staying at a hotel around the corner (which I do NOT recommend, especially for breakfast!). The reviews seemed good for this place. It is under the bridge of Central Station, so the trains create a bit of noise. We didn't mind it. The food is hearty and prepared well. Good cappuccino and a proper full Scottish/English breakfast ("grilled breakfast"). The owner or employee serving us was friendly and so helpful with bus information! I get the sense that she is a sweetheart! Here I am in the photo with her. I would eat here for a hearty unpretentious meal anytime!

Me and my partner were visiting Glasgow from Newcastle upon tyne and booked our train especially later so we could go for brunch because the reviews were amazing. We had a suitcase with us and were holding hands ( gay couple ) and we checked they were open. We went to walk in and the owner (?) was sat outside and just started shaking her head at us and pointed for us to go away. We were really upset and couldn't quite understand what was happening. So I have no idea what the food is like but doesn't look like they they are LGBTQIA friendly. Otherwise would like an explanation of why we weren't allowed in.

I bought a lamb kebab wrap and some cheesy chips from here. I can't deny that the food was brilliant. But I was drunk, so I foolishly didn't check the card machine when I paid. Having just checked my internet banking the next day, I've seen that he charged me £20. I've checked every menu of his that I can find online, and there's no way it should have cost that much. I accept that his prices might be a bit higher at night (I ordered and paid just before midnight), but this feels like a scam to me. This is extremely disappointing and frustrating.

We visit Glasgow regularly and often walk past,however on Saturday as we were heading for early dinner we decided that we would make a visit there on way back to the hotel later in the evening. The food was beautiful, staff were very pleasant making conversation with us while the food was freshly prepared. We had a chicken wrap as they had sold out of Doner Meat. It didn't disappoint that's for sure. We will definitely return it's lovely to support small business for a bite to eat rather than go to the big name fast food restaurants. Make sure if your passing that you drop in and have a bite to eat. Keep up the good work andnwe shall certainly return that's for sure.

They say the food is halal and the non halal food is cooked separately. This is false as we seen with our own eyes they cooked our breakfast on the same grill they cooked bacon on. Even after confronting them they was rude and said we clean it each time. Don’t waste your time with this place better off going to greggs and getting a vegan roll. We didn’t even get an apology or anything taken off our bill.

I came in late at night for some chips (thinner but cheaper than the other chip shop in the Umbrella), complimented the manager on his beautiful basket of onions, and he gave me one. A glowing exchange that I will remember for life. Their onions are the size of bowling balls and I assume what they make with them is very good. A lovely, calm place in the middle of the cold and chaos of Glasgow.

Was out in Glasgow and was feeling peckish and in need of a coffee, and was passing by Cafe Sono. From the outside I imagined it to be an Italian Cafe, but its more a Turkish Coffee Shop, but with a Scottish twist. Staff are really friendly, and while their menu can be pretty large, you are sure to find something to your taste. Ordered a coffee and a breakfast roll, which was freshly prepared in no time. Prices maybe a little on high side, but was very tasty.
