My friend and I wanted to try this place after my dad recommended their coffee, but when we went in and we’re deciding what we wanted, the lady behind the till was just staring into our souls and made us really uncomfortable. Safe to say we won’t be back.

I extremely enjoyed my hot chocolate with the pistacho pastry cake (sorry I can’t remember the name, but check the pic 😝)… Wife was also very satisfied and impressed with her coffee… thank God! 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨… you guys saved my day! 🥹🤙😎 lol I was pretty impressed by the decoration of the place, a very simple design that offers a nice stylish modern look to the place.

Great spot in the city centre. Found on the European coffee trip app. Went in for a batch filter. Very satisfied. Good selection of pastries and facilities good and clean. Friendly staff.

Don’t know why the reviews are so good. Bitter coffee and even more bitter service. Plenty of cafes where you have friendlier service and nicer coffee.

Horrible coffee with kind of onion taste, sandwich not really warm, frozen inside, need to ask for a spoon, music will feel you to cut your wrist...very bad experience

🔻 When ordered to go, flat white is always poorly made. Just overheated milk until steaming, poured over espresso. No texturing, no frothing, no technique whatsoever. Although, the same place, same great reputation and same cost. But you just don’t get the same quality for a to-go order. Still, one of the very limited places serving good coffee in this area. Lab Espresso is truly one of my favorite places. They can easily maintain a consistent quality, if they choose to. When sitting in, flat white is always made to perfection. Milk is perfectly textured and served with a nice latte art. Though not offering a big variety of baked goods and Patisseries, their selection is relatively good as well. You can’t always sit in as the place is small and can get crowded at times. I like their outside seating area, if it wasn’t raining of course. One issue though is the attitude of the baristas working there. Although when you become a regular, you can see how nice and great they actually are. I look at coffee places as a whole experience, baristas and other staff do play a vital role in creating a positive/negative vibe. Here, most of them give an impression as if they lack the spirit and look like as if they’re forced to be there. They create a very unwelcoming atmosphere. It is rarely that I get to encounter someone who’s welcoming, smiling and accommodating.

Todo el equipo sabe cosas allí. Nunca tomé un mal café de aquí. Siempre rápido, limpio y alegre. Sin duda merece la pena una visita rápida.

Tried two coffees this morning, one with oat milk and one regular. Both were terrible and I couldn’t finish them. Staff are also very gruff. Avoid this place and go to French Monkey which has amazing coffee.

Unfamiliar with Glasgow, I was on the hunt for an artisan coffee, went to investigate black sheep coffee first and immediately turned around when I saw it was a rehashed Starbucks. I was lucky enough to stumble upon this place and was not disappointed! Both the flat white and espresso was incredible!

Great little coffee spot in Glasgow. Nice to see real baristas demonstrating their craft. I asked for an Aussie special brew - a magic, which was new to the team. After my poor explanation of the drink, they created an excellent version that I happily consumed. Apparently the hot chocolate they made for my wife was also great. The coffee is good and the place is good, but the dessert is average

Ours was a sad experience. We walked in on a Saturday in mid August and the young person behind the counter stared at us. A smile and “good morning” or similar are what we had expected. No such pleasantries were forthcoming just a blank stare. That was a bit strange. Strike 1. Place itself looked great. The flat whites arrived and did not look great, they were anaemic in colour, strike 2. The coffee was not to our taste. We sometimes come across the blends that are “sour”. The coffee here is positively yogurty. Very little coffee flavour.It was as if the milk had soured but I’m pretty certain that it had not. Strike 3. We had a sip. I had a few more. Then we agreed that life’s too short and there are better coffees in Glasgow. We left our coffees unfinished, in fact, barely started, and voted with our feet.

Impeccable. Was driving from Highlands to Edinburgh, stopped in Glasgow for a coffee. Delighted by this place. Someday I’ll have to visit Glasgow!

First time in Glasgow and I stumble upon this small coffee shop that has a very tasteful specialty coffee. Totally recommend the espresso and batch brew !!

This place had coffee from almost all around the world, featuring the top cooperatives and roasters from across the UK and internationally. We enjoyed our cups of coffees here and appreciate the high standards of service as well.

I have visited this place twice to get my fix of Latte and their Red Velvet Brownies. I have only tried these two and nothing else. So take my review with a grain of salt! Their Latte is one of my favourites, and their brownies is mind blowing! I have never tried a brownie this good before. If you ever pass by this place, I would highly recommend getting the brownie!

We tried both the espresso and the macchiato, the coffee is very acidic and leaves a burnt taste in the mouth. Better than the classic American chain…

Raspberry Amaretti was tasty. The service was good although could have been ‘warmer’, and they brought the coffee to my table. However, Coffee was bang average. It was actually served too hot, close to scolding. Little bit bitter with not the greatest texture. I wouldn’t come back here for a really good coffee. Fine for a quick coffee in a pinch, or a place to catch up.

Bitter coffee, my latte was just hot coffee with milk. Good atmosphere though and friendly vibe. For the price you’re paying, if you’re a coffee lover I would avoid. Sorry.

A good coffee shop and I do like having more independent options, but a little overpriced and with some comments say ‘one of the best’ I expected a lot more than average

One of the best, if not the best, coffee in central Glasgow! They use legit type of oat milk and NOT oatly. The portion they serve of flat white is quite larger than other similar quality places.

Really tiny cafe with some tables outside but no cover, so your best bet is to just grab and go! The coffee was quite strong, so if you're into that, highly recommend. The cakes though were absolutely amazing. The carrot cake, although tiny, was delicious.

i enjoyed the (double shot) cappuccino with chocolate on top and more importantly the interior of the cafe. the concrete countertop, a high woody ceiling, metallic stools, and charcoal bricks are such a vibe. they come together into a very modern and sleek way. it’s simple but not boring at all. the coffee was not too strong, quite balanced, and reasonably priced.

Smallish espresso bar with some decent treat options. Has a bathroom and some seating, but honestly it's very limited space. Guy serving wasn't exactly welcoming, but at least he wasn't rude. Good coffee. Would recommend for takeaway, or with a backup plan for in house.

I never write bad reviews, but I was excited to visit this place after hearing all of the hype and was bitterly disappointed as soon as I walked through the door. I have no complaints about the coffee, but the place epitomised the negative connotations of 'coffee culture' to me. All three staff members were miserable and I was made to feel like I wasn't welcome. I cycled specifically to visit from the Southside, put my bag and coat down and ordered a drink, and before having a chance to sort myself out the manager came over, pointed at my belongings made a noise and walked off. Rude and miserable all round. Plenty of more welcoming places to get your fix in the city, try Ottoman, Outlier, Spitfire etc.

Cafe in European style. Very small, but cozy. There are tables outside, but the weather in Scotland is not always conducive to outdoor gatherings. Good selection of coffee and desserts.

It's a cute little cafe with awesome coffee and cakes. I definitely recommend visiting. However, you might not be able to find a free seat, so be prepared to go for a takeaway. PS: try carrot cake and a chocolate brownie. So good!

Friendly wee place and great coffee

Nice cozy cafe but drinks are a little underwhelming. Espresso had an unpleasant sourness that made the experience quite unenjoyable. The milk drink suffered from the espresso base as well and was left with that sourness. They could be so much more.

Had a really bad experience today, coffee was really sour, asked for it to be remade and the guy was rude. Second coffee was the same as the first. The guy was rude again and didn’t offer an apology, left without a coffee or a refund.

The coffee is good but the place is so small and there are almost no places to sit. It gets so cold when someone opens the door as well. It’s a bit pricy compared to other coffee shops in the neighborhood

Lovely cozy atmosphere, nice staff, and the coffee was excellent. I had a nice double espresso of their Honduran single origin and enjoyed it very much, clearly prepared with care. They do have beans to buy and offer to grind them for you, which was good to see. I sat outside, where there was a larger amount of space available: the seating inside the building is a little lacking, but certainly not a significant gripe (I went around 5pm for an afternoon coffee and it was fairly full). One of the best coffee places I've been to in Glasgow and strongly recommend.

The staff behavior was very rude and unfriendly. When I arrived, I initially sat with my friends, but I later decided to move to another table because the one we were at was too small. However, a worker asked me to stay with my friends because other people wanted to sit there. I respected their request and returned to my original table. Later on, one of my friends and I wanted to sit outside, but the chairs were uncomfortable. So, I took a different chair from near where I was sitting to replace the uncomfortable one. Unfortunately, the same worker told me not to change the chairs, even though I explained that I would put them back in the same place after I finished using them. Eventually, the worker approached my friends who were sitting inside and asked them to leave, claiming that we had stayed for four hours and had overstayed our welcome. It's important to note that we had come to the café to study, as we had read in Google Maps reviews that it was a good place for studying. We had ordered coffee, tea, croissants, and desserts while we were there. Despite that the staff's behavior towards us was very rude. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this café to anyone. There are plenty of other coffee shops in Glasgow that offer nicer environments and more respectful service.

Filter coffee was good. It would be great to start serving v60 thought. Pistachio pastry which I chose was not bad, but not good as well.

Best coffee I've had in a long time plus a really nice cannoli to accompany it. Great choice of coffee beans on sale too. Just a shame it's such a small cafe with few seats but there are some tables outside too.
