We came for dinner to celebrate my mums birthday (which also happened to be Mother’s Day). It had clearly been a busy day for the whole team, but we were left waiting from the moment we arrived. The bar tender was excellent and ended up clearing our table for us, but an early 18:30 booking ended up with us being served our roasts at 20:10 - and it had taken 40 minutes to have our order taken. The food was outstanding, as always, however the wait left us disappointed!
My wife and I decided to have a Xmas lunch out this year, choosing The Crown Inn, with a drink bought,
we were shown to our table, with a carvery my wife went up to place the meat , vegetables and gravy on our plates.
With our lunch a small bottle each of Procecco to compliment the meal.
The meal was absolutely superb with lots of taste, the range of different puddings was amazing which we both enjoyed, traditional Xmas pudding with brandy sauce, and an Irish liqueur cheesecake with ice cream ,we both enjoyed the puddings, so then after we both had a coffee to finish off this lovely meal.
We will certainly come back to enjoy another meal but I would think in the New Year.
I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work in making ours and the other customers Xmas lunch a lovely day, so Merry Christmas and a Happy new year to The Crown Inn.
Went for my husbands 70th birthday with family and friends. 13 in total.
Despite being very busy we had a brilliant time. Staff were attentive and the food was delicious and served hot. One hiccup from a party member was dealt with quickly.
Well recommended
We booked a table for three at the Westbrook for Sunday Lunch last week.
Two of us chose the Roast Beef, my father-in-law decided on the Cornish Sole, we all agreed that all of our dishes were cooked to perfection. The dessert menu was to die for and we will definitely return & wholeheartedly recommend the Westbrook.
All of the staff were attentive, and the service was excellent, this was matched by the decor and ambience of this superb venue.
It was an excellent experience and we received a warm welcome. The food was sensational and the presentation was excellent, making everything look appetising, plus the service was very good. In addition, it is a comfortable, relaxing location.
Would leave a zero if I could.
Probably the worst chinese take away we've ever had.
Smoked chicken NO CHICKEN. Just batter.
Ribs just fatty.
Even the chips are so dry, you need sauce or a drink to eat them.
Would never come again.
Our 2nd visit and outshone the first! Staff are so friendly and welcoming.
Good selection of drinks, draughty & bottles.
Food as before excellent.
Far far better than pub fare and well worthy of a 5* review.

Fantastic service,decor and food.
Popped in for breakfast this morning and the staff were very polite and it was very calm with rhe rustic decor.
Been here a few times before and can't say a bad word about the place. It's a credit to trowbridge
Came in on Wednesday 5/2 for food following a recommendation. Well cobra beer was flat to start with, starter was not bad a grilled panir. The main chicken korai meant to have spice was mild and stacks of onions. It was bland and chewy. No taste to it. I’ll stay away
This place deserves six stars! We stayed overnight and had an evening meal with friends. The staff were friendly, helpful and provided a very personal welcome. The room was warm and comfortable with a comfy bed and excellent shower. The meal was delicious with an original menu and perfect portion sizes. We are already planning to go again
The Beckford Arms is a great spot for a weekend away, welcoming, friendly and relaxing.
Breakfast every morning, bloody marys, walks straight from the door and the rugby on in the living room.
Our only issue was dietary which I think needs to be reviewed, when stated the dish is gluten free (pheasant) and it turned up with pasta pieces in, it wasn't great considering the allergies, the reason given was kids meals have pasta and must have fallen in. Also when we stated at breakfast for a gluten free English breakfast and they served it with gluten sausages, again not really acceptable.
All in all a top spot for a great weekend, just need to sort out their dietary understanding and will be returning.
Warm welcome and lovely ambient surroundings
Really understanding about dietary issues, offered Stromboli contents without the pizza bread but brought me a falafel salad instead rammed with rocket leaves
Staff seemed rushed off their feet,
Bill was £74 for two drinks, pizza and a salad
