Booked from afar and didn’t realise quite how far in the wilds of Wiltshire this Pub was. Arrived in pouring rain , welcomed by an outstanding barkeep made us feel welcome immediately. Room was spacious by English standards, bed and pillows acceptable. Shower was interesting. Dinner was in a new space and outstanding. Both had fish and chips excellent. Wine was far more extensive than I’ve come across so far at excellent prices. All in all if you are coming to Wiltshire put this pub on your itinerary

Just finished an amazing meal at the Foxham. The service and food were amazing. I had steak and Liz had the hake - both were as good as we have had in a long time. Starters of prawns and scallops were equally lovely. The venue is out of the way and well worth a visit. Just 2 rooms B&B in the pub, well worth booking one for a very memorable dinner.

we were due to pick up our grandchildren from their parents and looked for somewhere just off the M4 for Sunday Lunch. We found the Foxham online and decided to try it. The reception by staff was excellent and friendly. The menu was varied and we selected starters and mains. I, personally, had the chicken parfait which was excellent as were the family's starters. The mains were equally excellent, most of us chose the three-meat roast which was cooked to perfection. Despite the food being slightly more expensive than we were used to for a Sunday lunch the quality was equal to the pricing and everyone felt that the food and ambience were excellent. We certainly will be calling again and such a change form service station food. We would highly recommend this to anyone travelling on the M4 and having a little time to leave the motorway at Chippenham for a short journey to delicious food and wonderful service.

We didn't stay here so can't rate the rooms. However we did eat, we had a Sunday lunch here on Sunday 18th of August. It was lovely, service was good, food tasty and well presented. Special mention to the attention that was given to one of our party with a dairy and fruit intolerance. The wait staff were very helpful to us on this, much more than many other places we have eaten. The only thing I would question is if it's worth the amount we spent. The bill was £140 for 2 adults and 2 children.

My son and I visited my daughter on a flying visit 9th August 2024. Daughter and her friend made up a table of 4 with Dad and brother. Stunning seafood in the heart of the English countryside.

We opted for the “special” lobster with prawns, scallops , calamari and crab. It was very well presented and tasted wonderful. Service was very good, attentive but not fussy. Ate in the main restaurant rather than the bar. Restaurant is bright and airy as opposed to the bar which is more comfy. We were staying and had a tasty continental breakfast which was included in the room rate, plenty to choose the night before on a farm, cereals toast cheese ham and pastries. Enjoyed If you want it’s £15 per head for full cooked which we didn’t have.

Chance booking on regular trip London to Wales from internet search for Sunday Lunch. Food excellent and service was great. Little to say other than we have bookmarked it and will definitely return in future . Well done Foxham

We had a room and table booked to celebrate our anniversary. We loved the venue as soon as we got there and found the area so relaxing. The restaurant was very quiet when we arrived but there was a lovely buzz by dinner time. It was much busier than they expected, but they did their best to make our experience enjoyable and had great communication. The food was absolutely lovely! We had prawns, scallops and hake for mains. It was all so freshly and perfectly cooked. In summary: great staff, great food, highly recommended!

What a total delight our lunch was - staff were lovely and the food totally sublime. We had a sharing platter of seafood. Each element was stunning. Whole lobster which we asked for as half grilled and half Thermidor, scallops, prawns, calamari and chips. The biggest of treats and yes Lobster is expensive of course but was melt in the mouth delicious. On the menu I could literally have chosen all of it. Seafood heaven and cannot wait to return for a special treat.

A very good lunch , we were looked after well , a pretty place outside to eat , much enjoyed.

Food was delightful as ever but surprised at the number of unopened mussels served especially for a restaurant specialising in seafood. Service was impeccable and the whole experience just "flowed" seamlessly.

Spectacular food and exceptional service with our Host making us incredibly welcome.! Another excellent evening at The Foxham, where once again, we were surprised and delighted with dinner. All prepared to a very high standard. I think it was the home made roasted banana ice cream that was the deal breaker! We will be back soon.

Wonderful setting! We arrived on a Monday for a quiet double celebration with the family and were greeted in a very friendly and professional manner. Room was very clean, pleasantly decorated and atmosphere was excellent as we were the only ones in the room. Food arrived on time, hot and absolutely delicious. Portions were reasonable and I highly recommend it. In fact, already did after a few friends asked us for a recommendation after seeing some pictures of that experience on social media. It is not for every pocket but it truly reflects on the quality, flavour and presentation of every dish. Certainly worth it for a special occasion! Easy and safe parking right opposite the restaurant, quiet location in a beautiful village. Weather was warm so it helped creating a great memory.

Spur-of-the-moment booking for dinner on a Thursday evening. The host was very friendly and welcoming, gave good advice on food and wine choices when asked. Service was efficient and friendly. Food arrived quickly and was exceptional - we had scallops and chicken liver parfait for starters, half grilled lobster and surf and turf for main, and custard tart and chocolate mousse for pudding. All delicious, nailed the seafood cookery, and I ate the truffle mayonnaise with a fork when I ran out of chips! We will definitely be back soon.

Attended Wednesday 5th of June. Incredible food, arrived fast and piping hot. Staff were very friendly, definitely be returning.

Had a lovely birthday meal here, we all had good meals, two of us had the sharing fish platter. We thought it amazing and although £100 for two it included oysters, lobster, calamari, hake and scallops in bacon and sauce, we considered it well worth the money. Quality fish venue !

Excellent service, and food! Short notice booking in the morning which was accommodated for a 1330 sitting. Food was excellent. Service excellent and friendly too.

This has become a favourite of ours for Sunday lunch. Excellent meats and fish specials,the best offering of vegetables, crispy roasties and yorkshires like footballs. Everything cooked to perfection. We shared a sticky toffee pudding which rounded off a perfect meal. All delivered with warm friendly service. It doesnt get any better than this for me.

Back to the Foxham for a birthday Sunday lunch and they didn’t disappoint! Wonderful tasty starters of Scallops, Potted Crab, and King Prawns for my daughter followed by Beef Wellington and Sirloin. Delicious lunch with a few extra Roasties and of course Cauliflower Cheese a must have. My daughter who is nearly 11 asked to return because she said “it was the best Sunday Lunch outside of home” and she is not unaccustomed to good food. Great wines to go with the food and we sat watching the chefs preparing the dishes. Young friendly staff who genuinely enjoy looking after you. Just wished we lived closer but will return soon. Thanks to Freddy and his great team.

Amazing Sunday lunch, couldn’t recommend it enough and the staff were lovely!

Booked what we thought was a pub with rooms. A pub that would be open until 11pm (according to the website) so we could have a night cap or two before bed. We returned at 9.30pm to a pub in total darkness and not a sole in sight. We had been told about the side entrance, there was no lighting, had to use our phone to see the door, unlock it and find our way upstairs.

Sunday lunch was fantastic, a bit more money than I usually pay but worth every penny!!

Amazing food! We had the antipasti followed by the salmon and seabass. Portions were a good size and delicious. We also had the poached pears and custard tart for dessert. Mario was very welcoming and made some great suggestions. Highly recommend a visit.

Rooms were clean and well maintained. Hotel also has a fantastic restaurant with delicious Menu. Continental breakfast is included with the stay and pastries are a treat. I would recommend this place for a short stay when you are exploring Cotswold

We both said this was the best roast we have ever had! Incredible, highly recommend. We'd not been to the pub before and now feel like we've been missing a trick. My partner had the mixed meat roast and I had the veggie nut roast meal, both were amazing, we were really hungry and so ordered a side of cauliflower cheese and a side of extra roast potatoes but we'd been a bit over ambitious as we couldn't finish it all and no room for puddings which looked delicious when we saw them taken out to others. The atmosphere was relaxed but it far from scruffy, we sat at a table where we could see into the kitchen through the viewing window which made it interesting and we could see the chefs creating their masterpieces. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the service was great. The pub and the toilets were really clean. The wine we had with the meal (Malbec) was smooth and complimented the meal well. I can't think of anything that could have been improved. Highly recommend.

This is a review for the restaurant! We stopped on the way back from Bath and honestly we didn’t have any expectations. But then this stop turned out to be one of the best dining experiences! My partner and I were on a special weekend getaway so we went for their signature lobster and beef Wellington and we were not disappointed. 👏👏👏

The best Sunday Roast. Our family party of six, choose the roast from vegetarian, pork, beef and the triple roast. All were excellent. Highly recommended also the cauliflower cheese side dishes. The largest Yorkshire pudding I’ve ever eaten, couldn’t finish them. A large variety of vegetables on a plate, all delicious. Way too full to try deserts. Coffees are also excellent Thank you to Mario and his excellent team. We had a wonderful lunch and time.

This is a lovely venue and the food was superb. We went for Sunday lunch, which was delicious. I am now hoping to go back to sample more from their extensive menu. The seafood looks amazing. Staff were delightful - efficient and polite. It was an excellent experience. Thank you.

The food and service were the best, we couldn’t fault either, but the restaurant was so cold we wouldn’t return, it wasn’t a comfortable setting to eat, we weren’t the only couple who felt it was cold, we heard another couple complaining. I was right near a radiator and it wasn’t on at all even though it was only 3 degrees outside. The only heating was a fire in the bar when you enter.

Wow, what a find, it was worth the drive from Devizes. Very exciting menu with too many great choices. Everything from start to finish was spot on, from the food to the service, very friendly staff. The only issue was how cold it was in the restaurant area. It was lovely and cosy in the front bar area, but freezing in the restaurant. I was right next to a radiator that wasn’t on at all, which isn’t good when it’s only 3 degrees outside. We like to feel comfortable when eating, so unfortunately we wouldn’t return for that reason. We did here a couple who arrived after us complain about it being cold too.

Delicious Sunday lunch in lovely surroundings. We had Beef (beautifully pink), Pork, Chicken and the mixed roast and they were all excellent. Cauliflower cheese was a must. Lovely pudding options too. We will be back.

I cannot recommend The Foxham enough - possibly the best meal out we’ve ever had. Fresh seafood and the most mouthwatering flavours. Nothing pretentious, just incredible food cooked incredibly well. Pub style at the front and a lovely restaurant to the rear, prices mean it’s definitely more of a special occasion rather than an everyday but what a total gem in the middle of rural Wiltshire!

Food was excellent and so was the service. The only thing that was slightly negative was the dinning area which felt cold.

Great service and a very nice Sunday Roast in a light and spacious setting - plenty of convenient parking and an extensive seating area outside if brave enough to endure the winter weather. Despite being a remote location, The Foxham is well worth a visit :-)

Lovely welcome for first time visitors. Front of the pub doesn’t do it justice so that was a little nervy going in. Food was excellent although roast potatoes were reheated and not cooked fresh (I suspect). But rest of Sunday roast was outstanding. Will def go back.

Didn't stay there, so can't comment on accommodation. We went for a meal in the evening, so the availability of some dishes was limited. But that probably means that the fish is fresh every day rather than frozen. Next time we'll have to do lunch instead. What was served was all excellent. Well worth a return visit. Service is impeccable. No 'are you enjoying yourself' intrusiveness, rather just close attentiveness when needed. A welcome change. This restaurant is seriously off the beaten track, but not difficult to find or get to. It's quite small, so book in advance.

Visit The Foxham every term too and from my daughters boarding school. All of the food is exceptional; the toast is amazing. The staff are now used to seeing us and are always exceptionally friendly and attentive.

The food was brilliant and the service friendly and courteous. It is not easy to find a good seafood restaurant in the area and this one is very good. A bit pricey but good quality and well presented

Visited today for Christmas Eve, and all 4 of us had different amazing main meals and desserts. Food was hot, tasty, and arrived in a timely manner. Jugs of water were also available on the table.Service was excellent, staff very friendly, and accommodating. Atmosphere was festive and enjoyable. We will definitely be returning.

A Christmas Day meal was gifted to my recently bereaved brother friend. Sadly, my brother and friend tested positive for Covid on Christmas Day. The restaurant was the partner restaurant, the Rising Sun. After recovering they went for lunch, only to be confronted by a rude manager who refused the request for a small lunch. £180 was paid in full to The Foxham. We understand it was a no show but how unsympathetic can they be. It was gifted a gift to cheer up a distraught family member. Very sad.

Wonderful pub , beautiful but we order weeks in advance gluten free stuff only to be told on the night it wasn't available. They were apologetic and genuine and didn't charge but disappointed would be a benefit to their menu if they could include this

A lovely venue, easy parking, quiet so you can hear yourself speak. Lovely menu, delicious food and excellent service. A little tricky to get to but well worth the trip. Would highly recommend

Great service and on such a busy night. Accommodated when phoned to book on a busy festive evening. Staff were great and attentive and courteous throughout. Food was great and catered to different needs. A lovely experience throughout by the staff and food.

Service, from the welcome to the moment we left, was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. We've been here once before and the food was very good - and this time the same. Dover sole was fabulous and just fell off the bone.

What a charming little place! The food is consistently high quality, the ambience is quaint and cosy (especially when the fire is on in winter) and the staff are world class, no ask is too big. It’s dog friendly too which is a big plus 😊

Delightful Sunday roast and great service. Great to be able to see into the kitchen and see the food being made. Located in a small village to give the true country pub vibe.

The food was excellent! The garlic prawns were cooked perfectly and the dressed crab was lovely, shame there was no lobster, I will remember to phone ahead next time! The beef croquettes were great, amazing flavour and the swordfish with the tomato compote was beautiful. Excellent selection of wine, the Sauternes was a great accompaniment to the creme brulee. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Highly recommend a visit.

The whole Meal was fantastic from the starter of Chicken Parfait to the Main course of Surf and Turf everything was executed perfectly. There was also a nice atmosphere within the Restaurant.

The moules were as good as I have ever eaten, anywhere, including France... large and rich and flavoursome. In fact all the food was beautifully prepared. The restaurant was quiet at 1pm and then filled up noticeably making a warm atmosphere. Open wood fire most welcome, very friendly "no fuss" service was appreciated. The menu and actual food was really quite exceptional for a local pub... my wife and I had a brilliant celebration lunch and will def be back to the Foxham soon.

Our 4th time eating here. Food was amazing, and 1 adjustment was made when asked! No problem for them at all! Staff are super friendly . It is on the pricier side but it is very good.

We ate and stayed at the Foxham - received a very warm firendly welcome on arrival and were shown to our room. The room is small but functional - on the plus side the bathroom is clean and there's a kettle with tea and coffee etc. A decent wardrobe too. On the downside the room was dusty in places (top of headboard for example) and the bed was not v comfortable for two as the edges of the mattress had broken down over time and so you can't lay on the whole mattress. The food in the restaurant was v good - although not brilliant value. The menu is heavily fish based and they do it v well. We both chose lobster which is always pricey - we expected that but the half lobster my wife had was super tiny - no more than 3 or 4 mouthfuls and the claw had already been shelled. Starters and deserts were both excellent and whilst we didn't drink wine the list was varied and not overly expensive. Breakfast the next morning was OK without being brilliant. I'd recommend the restaurant - I wouldn't enthuse about the overnight stay but it was convenient as we were far from home and the owner and staff were really very welcoming and pleasant which makes any stay that much more pleasurable. A curate's egg I'd say: good in parts. My steer would be - go for the food

The menu is outstanding..the chefs just get it and surpass each time. I have been now numerous, many times with young and oldies and they all love the food, the service and ambience. We just return time and time again. You have to try the calamari and/or the crab as a starter and then check out the specials menu. Their fish menu is outstanding, freshly delivered every day and they cater for all, if not your thing. Just enjoyed their Sunday lunch this weekend with beef wellington and all that came with it was cooked to perfection. Beautiful crisp potatoes, yorkshire pudding and then the gravy. All hot and cooked to perfection. Lovely outside eating area, covered, inside bar area and then a beautiful barn room for eating or an occasion. Just outstanding.

Fabulous meal at The Foxham. Service was great, had a really relaxed meal and didn’t feel rushed between courses. Food was amazing, both had a starters and Sunday lunch followed by dessert. Certainly a busy place but didn’t feel crammed in which is important when you want a quiet meal out. Wouldn’t hesitate to go again!

We have eaten at seafood restaurants around the world and this is up there with the TOP! We had the Foxham platter.. Lobster, Scallops, beautiful prawns, dressed crab and fish cake . With rocket, home made mayo, and skin on fries. Simply out of this world! We will definately be back! 10/10

Very good restaurant serving classic dishes but with fish and seafood a speciality, something they do extremely well. There's a good selection of wine with a much larger than usual list by the glass. We will definitely return.

An excellent experience, it's been a little while since we've last been, but wow! The food was excellent, service attentive without being overbearing. Food was to die for.... Soft shell crab in Wiltshire - who knew! Pork belly bites and fish and chips fab... Scallops with roe what a lovely change, and cheese and biscuits to finish. The Malbec was deep and delicious... Thoroughly recommend.

Without doubt the best seafood restaurant in Wiltshire. I’ve had the privilege of dining in some of the finest restaurants in the world and this one is right up there. Yes it’s a pub but the quality of the food was fantastic. If you don’t like seafood there’s plenty of alternative dishes available. We had the oysters, scallops, dressed lobster and hake with mussels all washed down with a bottle of white. In a word - AMAZING

Real shame you have to pay for so many extras, even some complimentary bread would have been nice. Shame you have to pay extra for bread, vegetables, chips, potatoes etc etc. I know its a thing these days but I feel this is wrong.

It always feels like such a treat to eat at The Foxham. The restaurant has good atmosphere and the food is delicious with plenty of specials on the menu. Look forward to going back

Warm welcome, great service, exceptional food. Booked for our anniversary lunch & not disappointed. Decided to go 'fishy' ' enjoyed oysters (the red wine vinegar & shallot side was lovely), ming prawn in garlic & herb sauce followed by skate wing (black butter & capers) & lobster thermidor. Absolutely delicious!
