Went there for Christmas Dinner, food service were great. Enjoy the calamari a lot, food portion is huge as well

The team at Foxham are amazing! My best friend was celebrating her birthday there with family and while I am currently in Australia, I wanted to do something nice for her special day. Noticing the Foxham sell Gift Vouchers, I called them and they were able to organise this immediately over the phone. My friend had a wonderful night; she said the scallops were amazing and the service lovely. The team even celebrated her birthday with a special treat. Thank you to the team at Foxham for being so kind, flexible and understanding - especially when a broad Aussie accent calls them over the phone. While I couldn't be there, I am so appreciative of making this an amazing night to remember. Highly recommended, and I cannot wait to visit there personally the next time I am in the U.K.

The overall experience was quite pleasant, the price for the offering was not great as the price. Even with a voucher purchased by a friend the bill was still relatively high in regards to other fine dining.

Lovely food though not enough sundries, eg we had to request extra gravy. Overall a really enjoyable meal - but parking is a bit of an issue.

Had lunch with a small group. Food was excellent. Mostly fish menu. Good quality dishes with a few specials on the board. Staff were really friendly and helpful, great service. Would definitely recommend.

Superb! Will definitely return. Beef Wellington was melt in the mouth, accompanying puree roasted veg and Yorkshire pudding were amazing. Deserts were amazing! Excellent ale and wines too...

Delicious food, friendly and attentive service, nice ambience. We visited on a night when a big group were also dining, it didn’t affect our experience at all, we sat right in front of the kitchen which our little boy loved and we could see the chefs preparing the wonderful food. The serving staff were very friendly and welcoming. We’d definitely go back if we were in the area again.

It's the second time at the Foxham and it didn't disappoint. This time we decided to go on a Saturday to try the seafood. It was quiet when we arrived, so were able to pick where we sat. The waitress (forgot to get her name again) was as,lovely as the Sunday before , even though it got busier and she was serving the food as well the bar, she wasn't flustered and made,time to check on us and chat. I had the grilled lobster with fries and truffle mayonnaise, my mum had the place with new potatoes ....both were absolutely divine, ...I went and complimented the chef ,who also was lovely. Can't rate this place enough!

This is a super fish restaurant. We were there on a very quiet Wednesday night so I’m sure the ambience would improve with more people. The waiter was super attentive without being over the top. The food was marvellous and I loved the fact you could watch the chef working. Worth the drive (40mins) and we will definitely return.

My mum and I,have, for the past 18 months been going to different pubs on a Sunday for a roast. A couple we have gone back as their roasts were good, however, the roast at the Foxham was a whole other level! THE best to date, the Yorkshire was large, meat melt in the mouth, potatoes as they should be, crispy on the outside ,fluffy on the inside...and the gravy, no granules used here! Thick ,beef stock, decent sized meal as well. Freddie, the owner was gracious and friendly, taking my mum's coat for her and pulling out her chair...the waitress was lovely, smiley and genuinely interested in us ,to us service is just as important as the food, I don't care if the food is the best in the world, if the staff are not friendly, I won't be back....no danger of that here though, lovely staff. We were sat by the open kitchen which was fab, everything the chef was doing could be seen.....absolutely stunning pub that has it all. We are going back Saturday to sample the lobster as it also has an amazing seafood menu and we love our seafood, can't wait to go again. If you haven't been here, you're definitely missing out!

Our friends found this little gem!! And wow we were impressed from the moment we stepped through the front door. We were greeted by friendly staff, who straight away were happy to get us a drink after our long day. We were staying in the two rooms the property has to offer and we had everything explained to us. We settled in to our rooms and very happy. A dinner reservation is a must here! The ambience of the restaurant was just perfect and the food....well OUTSTANDING!! How lovely it was to see the open kitchen and the service was excellent. Breakfast the following morning was just as good and set us up for the drive home. We would all definitely stay here again and highly recommend. Thank you for the fantastic stay :)

Our trip to the Foxham Inn was most enjoyable, the food and service was excellent even down to the singing of Happy Birthday.

Dining at the Foxham is a very pleasant experience. A pleasant and courteous greeting preceded a very good lunch. I had fish, Dover Sole to be precise, I’ve seldom had better anywhere, but a little more thought on what should accompany the course as opposed to just new potatoes would help in my opinion ~ but they did cheerfully provide peas when asked if they could. A mixed salad would be an option in my opinion to help those seeking healthy choices. The staff were excellent, the room was very nicely laid out, all in all a fine experience.

Went here for a roast dinner. The food and service was fantastic, great quality, nicely cooked. Can't wait to come again.

Passing by chance we stopped because Google still shows a "sandwich" section, so we thought we'd have a quick lunch. When we enter the restaurant we find lobster options and higher quality food. For a moment, disoriented, we decide to opt for a beer in their "pub" area, the owner accompanied us with extreme kindness, accepting our new request, without any judgment but a lot of cordiality. Excellent beers in their very quiet outdoor space. The owner also showed us where we could find the lunch we were looking for. Thank you for your kindness!

Had returned from a long walk and were desperate for food and drink. After unsuccessfully trying other places in the nearby area, we serendipitously stumbled across this gem of a pub. It served an outstanding Sunday lunch, with impeccable service and very friendly staff. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Comfortable night stay. Friendly service. Delicious deserts. The tiny shower and low water pressure were the only negatives.

We have had the pleasure of dining here occasionally while our daughter has been living in Foxham. We have had wonderful meals from wonderful and pleasant staff. Now that she has moved, it is not very likely that we will get here again as we live 22miles away, which is sad but maybe we will make the effort as a very special treat. Thank you so much fro some memorable meals.

Excellent venue. Greeted on arrival with table ready and both service and food was excellent. We would definitely book again.

Sunday lunch. Made really welcome

A fabulous place for both food or just a drink. Excellent service and attention to detail. Marco and his team gave us a warm welcome on our first visit to The Foxham where we enjoyed a lovely meal accompanied by our two dogs. It was such a friendly and welcoming place we returned each night for the remainder of our stay in Foxham. Great service, great food and a warm genuine welcome. What else do you need? Would not hesitate to recommended or visit again.

Booked from afar and didn’t realise quite how far in the wilds of Wiltshire this Pub was. Arrived in pouring rain , welcomed by an outstanding barkeep made us feel welcome immediately. Room was spacious by English standards, bed and pillows acceptable. Shower was interesting. Dinner was in a new space and outstanding. Both had fish and chips excellent. Wine was far more extensive than I’ve come across so far at excellent prices. All in all if you are coming to Wiltshire put this pub on your itinerary

Very Nice cosy Inn. good welcome and service. Excellent food with interesting Specials Board. Visiting for lunch only settled on sharing mixed Home made breads and Fish and Chips both were outstanding. Too full to try the Sweet selection but choice looked good. Will go again.

The food was excellent, the staff very attentive and helpful, the atmosphere conducive with a wonderful lunch at a very cory village pub, First class.

Just finished an amazing meal at the Foxham. The service and food were amazing. I had steak and Liz had the hake - both were as good as we have had in a long time. Starters of prawns and scallops were equally lovely. The venue is out of the way and well worth a visit. Just 2 rooms B&B in the pub, well worth booking one for a very memorable dinner.

Been to The Foxham for dinner twice and I cannot recommend it enough. The menu has a great range of starters and different types of fish for mains. The steak and lobster we had the first time there were amazing - best steak I’ve had!

Food was average. Very pricey seafood in some instances. Ambiance was ok - was not busy.

we were due to pick up our grandchildren from their parents and looked for somewhere just off the M4 for Sunday Lunch. We found the Foxham online and decided to try it. The reception by staff was excellent and friendly. The menu was varied and we selected starters and mains. I, personally, had the chicken parfait which was excellent as were the family's starters. The mains were equally excellent, most of us chose the three-meat roast which was cooked to perfection. Despite the food being slightly more expensive than we were used to for a Sunday lunch the quality was equal to the pricing and everyone felt that the food and ambience were excellent. We certainly will be calling again and such a change form service station food. We would highly recommend this to anyone travelling on the M4 and having a little time to leave the motorway at Chippenham for a short journey to delicious food and wonderful service.

We didn't stay here so can't rate the rooms. However we did eat, we had a Sunday lunch here on Sunday 18th of August. It was lovely, service was good, food tasty and well presented. Special mention to the attention that was given to one of our party with a dairy and fruit intolerance. The wait staff were very helpful to us on this, much more than many other places we have eaten. The only thing I would question is if it's worth the amount we spent. The bill was £140 for 2 adults and 2 children.

We sat outside for a Sunday roast. All 6 of us had different options. Perfectly cooked and really delicious food. We had three courses and each course was excellent. Very polite, unobtrusive, helpful service from our waitress - thankyou. We have been to The Foxham before and enjoyed it but not visited for over a year and the food, service and ambiance were excellent for us on Sunday. Thankyou to all.

Delighted that we found this pub even though we had to drive across country due to road closures. Very efficient and friendly from the moment we arrived. Lovely choices on menu. Food was amazing. My wife had 2 starters, the scallops followed by the king prawns. I had the whole grilled sea bass which was cooked to perfection and the best I have ever eaten. Shared a dessert, which was lovely but unnecessary!! Wine also delicious- unoaked Chardonnay. Delicious experience and looking forward to going back sometime.

Outstanding food! Great menu choices. Superb service. Just wish the Surf and Turf pricing was more transparent. Was shocked to find that MP could refer to any price, and was almost double what the price against the item was. Husband wasn’t keen on the kitchen smells coming through to the restaurant, though. I wasn’t affected adversely by this. All that said, the food is truly amazing and the ambience very pretty and relaxing.

My son and I visited my daughter on a flying visit 9th August 2024. Daughter and her friend made up a table of 4 with Dad and brother. Stunning seafood in the heart of the English countryside.

We opted for the “special” lobster with prawns, scallops , calamari and crab. It was very well presented and tasted wonderful. Service was very good, attentive but not fussy. Ate in the main restaurant rather than the bar. Restaurant is bright and airy as opposed to the bar which is more comfy. We were staying and had a tasty continental breakfast which was included in the room rate, plenty to choose the night before on a farm, cereals toast cheese ham and pastries. Enjoyed If you want it’s £15 per head for full cooked which we didn’t have.

Chance booking on regular trip London to Wales from internet search for Sunday Lunch. Food excellent and service was great. Little to say other than we have bookmarked it and will definitely return in future . Well done Foxham

We had a room and table booked to celebrate our anniversary. We loved the venue as soon as we got there and found the area so relaxing. The restaurant was very quiet when we arrived but there was a lovely buzz by dinner time. It was much busier than they expected, but they did their best to make our experience enjoyable and had great communication. The food was absolutely lovely! We had prawns, scallops and hake for mains. It was all so freshly and perfectly cooked. In summary: great staff, great food, highly recommended!

What a total delight our lunch was - staff were lovely and the food totally sublime. We had a sharing platter of seafood. Each element was stunning. Whole lobster which we asked for as half grilled and half Thermidor, scallops, prawns, calamari and chips. The biggest of treats and yes Lobster is expensive of course but was melt in the mouth delicious. On the menu I could literally have chosen all of it. Seafood heaven and cannot wait to return for a special treat.

Food was delightful as ever but surprised at the number of unopened mussels served especially for a restaurant specialising in seafood. Service was impeccable and the whole experience just "flowed" seamlessly.

Spectacular food and exceptional service with our Host making us incredibly welcome.! Another excellent evening at The Foxham, where once again, we were surprised and delighted with dinner. All prepared to a very high standard. I think it was the home made roasted banana ice cream that was the deal breaker! We will be back soon.

Wonderful setting! We arrived on a Monday for a quiet double celebration with the family and were greeted in a very friendly and professional manner. Room was very clean, pleasantly decorated and atmosphere was excellent as we were the only ones in the room. Food arrived on time, hot and absolutely delicious. Portions were reasonable and I highly recommend it. In fact, already did after a few friends asked us for a recommendation after seeing some pictures of that experience on social media. It is not for every pocket but it truly reflects on the quality, flavour and presentation of every dish. Certainly worth it for a special occasion! Easy and safe parking right opposite the restaurant, quiet location in a beautiful village. Weather was warm so it helped creating a great memory.

Spur-of-the-moment booking for dinner on a Thursday evening. The host was very friendly and welcoming, gave good advice on food and wine choices when asked. Service was efficient and friendly. Food arrived quickly and was exceptional - we had scallops and chicken liver parfait for starters, half grilled lobster and surf and turf for main, and custard tart and chocolate mousse for pudding. All delicious, nailed the seafood cookery, and I ate the truffle mayonnaise with a fork when I ran out of chips! We will definitely be back soon.

Had a lovely birthday meal here, we all had good meals, two of us had the sharing fish platter. We thought it amazing and although £100 for two it included oysters, lobster, calamari, hake and scallops in bacon and sauce, we considered it well worth the money. Quality fish venue !

This has become a favourite of ours for Sunday lunch. Excellent meats and fish specials,the best offering of vegetables, crispy roasties and yorkshires like footballs. Everything cooked to perfection. We shared a sticky toffee pudding which rounded off a perfect meal. All delivered with warm friendly service. It doesnt get any better than this for me.

Back to the Foxham for a birthday Sunday lunch and they didn’t disappoint! Wonderful tasty starters of Scallops, Potted Crab, and King Prawns for my daughter followed by Beef Wellington and Sirloin. Delicious lunch with a few extra Roasties and of course Cauliflower Cheese a must have. My daughter who is nearly 11 asked to return because she said “it was the best Sunday Lunch outside of home” and she is not unaccustomed to good food. Great wines to go with the food and we sat watching the chefs preparing the dishes. Young friendly staff who genuinely enjoy looking after you. Just wished we lived closer but will return soon. Thanks to Freddy and his great team.

Expensive especially considering the small portions.

Booked what we thought was a pub with rooms. A pub that would be open until 11pm (according to the website) so we could have a night cap or two before bed. We returned at 9.30pm to a pub in total darkness and not a sole in sight. We had been told about the side entrance, there was no lighting, had to use our phone to see the door, unlock it and find our way upstairs.

Sunday lunch was fantastic, a bit more money than I usually pay but worth every penny!!

Amazing food! We had the antipasti followed by the salmon and seabass. Portions were a good size and delicious. We also had the poached pears and custard tart for dessert. Mario was very welcoming and made some great suggestions. Highly recommend a visit.

Rooms were clean and well maintained. Hotel also has a fantastic restaurant with delicious Menu. Continental breakfast is included with the stay and pastries are a treat. I would recommend this place for a short stay when you are exploring Cotswold

We both said this was the best roast we have ever had! Incredible, highly recommend. We'd not been to the pub before and now feel like we've been missing a trick. My partner had the mixed meat roast and I had the veggie nut roast meal, both were amazing, we were really hungry and so ordered a side of cauliflower cheese and a side of extra roast potatoes but we'd been a bit over ambitious as we couldn't finish it all and no room for puddings which looked delicious when we saw them taken out to others. The atmosphere was relaxed but it far from scruffy, we sat at a table where we could see into the kitchen through the viewing window which made it interesting and we could see the chefs creating their masterpieces. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the service was great. The pub and the toilets were really clean. The wine we had with the meal (Malbec) was smooth and complimented the meal well. I can't think of anything that could have been improved. Highly recommend.

This is a review for the restaurant! We stopped on the way back from Bath and honestly we didn’t have any expectations. But then this stop turned out to be one of the best dining experiences! My partner and I were on a special weekend getaway so we went for their signature lobster and beef Wellington and we were not disappointed. 👏👏👏

The best Sunday Roast. Our family party of six, choose the roast from vegetarian, pork, beef and the triple roast. All were excellent. Highly recommended also the cauliflower cheese side dishes. The largest Yorkshire pudding I’ve ever eaten, couldn’t finish them. A large variety of vegetables on a plate, all delicious. Way too full to try deserts. Coffees are also excellent Thank you to Mario and his excellent team. We had a wonderful lunch and time.

This is a lovely venue and the food was superb. We went for Sunday lunch, which was delicious. I am now hoping to go back to sample more from their extensive menu. The seafood looks amazing. Staff were delightful - efficient and polite. It was an excellent experience. Thank you.

Wow, what a find, it was worth the drive from Devizes. Very exciting menu with too many great choices. Everything from start to finish was spot on, from the food to the service, very friendly staff. The only issue was how cold it was in the restaurant area. It was lovely and cosy in the front bar area, but freezing in the restaurant. I was right next to a radiator that wasn’t on at all, which isn’t good when it’s only 3 degrees outside. We like to feel comfortable when eating, so unfortunately we wouldn’t return for that reason. We did here a couple who arrived after us complain about it being cold too.

The food and service were the best, we couldn’t fault either, but the restaurant was so cold we wouldn’t return, it wasn’t a comfortable setting to eat, we weren’t the only couple who felt it was cold, we heard another couple complaining. I was right near a radiator and it wasn’t on at all even though it was only 3 degrees outside. The only heating was a fire in the bar when you enter.

Delicious Sunday lunch in lovely surroundings. We had Beef (beautifully pink), Pork, Chicken and the mixed roast and they were all excellent. Cauliflower cheese was a must. Lovely pudding options too. We will be back.

I cannot recommend The Foxham enough - possibly the best meal out we’ve ever had. Fresh seafood and the most mouthwatering flavours. Nothing pretentious, just incredible food cooked incredibly well. Pub style at the front and a lovely restaurant to the rear, prices mean it’s definitely more of a special occasion rather than an everyday but what a total gem in the middle of rural Wiltshire!

Food was excellent and so was the service. The only thing that was slightly negative was the dinning area which felt cold.

Lovely welcome for first time visitors. Front of the pub doesn’t do it justice so that was a little nervy going in. Food was excellent although roast potatoes were reheated and not cooked fresh (I suspect). But rest of Sunday roast was outstanding. Will def go back.

Didn't stay there, so can't comment on accommodation. We went for a meal in the evening, so the availability of some dishes was limited. But that probably means that the fish is fresh every day rather than frozen. Next time we'll have to do lunch instead. What was served was all excellent. Well worth a return visit. Service is impeccable. No 'are you enjoying yourself' intrusiveness, rather just close attentiveness when needed. A welcome change. This restaurant is seriously off the beaten track, but not difficult to find or get to. It's quite small, so book in advance.

Visit The Foxham every term too and from my daughters boarding school. All of the food is exceptional; the toast is amazing. The staff are now used to seeing us and are always exceptionally friendly and attentive.
