Not bad and very popular. The building is no architectural gem and without a car or bike it would be tricky to get to but the service is excellent and the food good value. I had the Allington Breakfast which, with the exception of the leathery mushrooms, was of a good standard. A vert friendly place and with a good farm shop next door.

I made a last-minute decision to stop by this farm shop instead of my usual services on the M4, and I must say, it was well worth the small detour! The staff were friendly and helpful, and the chicken toastie was delicious, clearly made with fresh ingredients. My only critique is the Millionaire Roulade, which had a bit too much cream, making it quite sickly towards the end. Although I didn’t purchase anything from the farm shop, I had a look around and was impressed. It’s one of the best-stocked farm shops I’ve seen, with a wide range of interesting products that were really tempting. However, some of the prices were a little steep. I would definitely return for the food, and I would love to try more options off the menu.

A friend of mine told me about Allington cafe, so I thought we would give it a try. We'll where do I start no issues at all service was great and the good was great don't think I have ever been to a cafe and enjoyed it that much miles ahead of any other cafe I have been to. And the sausages were out of this world they had a farm shop next door so we went and bought some sausages from them as they are the same ones. It is pricey but 100% worth it. I would recommend this place to anyone. Also, have kids' menu, and you allow to take you doggy in too.

Very disappointing that we paid £18 for a chicken burger that came out pink. I don't want to imply anything that could get me into trouble but my partner was not well for the next 24 hours. Who knows? He could have had a tummy bug that no one else around him picked up! When we tried to send it back we got told that the chicken was pink because it was the knuckle joint... My partner only ate a little bit after that. It was offered to be re-cooked. It looked like a chicken breast which wouldn't have had a joint but I don't know.

On arrival we were taken to a table that needed cleaning. Given 1 menu between 2 of us. Sat waiting to have our order taken. I even approached a young lady and said we were ready, she pointed to another young lady and replied she will be with you in a minute. Waited some more, to be told you order at the bar. Not told that, otherwise we would have. Also a time limit on ordering breakfast. Eventually when I asked again we were ready she said oh yes sorry should have said. It was very cold with air con on. Poor customer service and the young lady's more bothered about standing chatting to customers and each other.

Very popular (have been visiting the cafe and using the shop for over 12 years now) but has been continually improved and fully deserves it's success. The cafe is often busy but this can be mitigated by the recently added takeaway option (which used to be just for the excellent cakes/deserts).

7 of us went for breakfast on a Sunday. It's not possible to reserve so we got there for opening time at 9.30 to ensure no queuing. 5 people had the Cafe Breakfast which is the full English and includes 2 slices of toast. Hubby had the Sourdough Toast with Avocado and 2 Poached Eggs, plus he added 2 slices of bacon. I opted for the Smoothie Berry Bowl, something I used to make a fair bit at home, but appear to have forgotten all about! It came served with fresh strawberries, blueberries and granola and was refreshing and delicious. With 2 coffees and an orange juice, our breakfast came to just over £31. I hadn't eaten here for a couple of years and I was very happy to see the food was as good as ever.

Stopped here for a bit to eat. Doesn't look much from the outside but it is one of the better farm shop cafes I've been too There is a waiting area - and when a table is free you are invited in. Choose your food/drinks from the menu and order and pay at the counter. The service was fast and friendly. It was busy when we arrived but a table was found quickly and the drinks were brought out within 5 minutes and the food within about 15 minutes. It's not cheap... But the quantity was amazing. I ordered a sourdough toastie but it included rice, salad and coleslaw. It was all very tasty. There's is also a selection of cakes and treats at the counter. A really nice cafe - we'll be back!

A very busy farm cafe on the A420 just outside Chippenham, it's popular so expect a queue, not a problem as they have a lovely warm waiting room and the staff keep you updated on waiting time. Once seated service excellent knowledgeable staff keep the service flowing, food was wonderful certainly no issues. There's a 2 hour limit on the table but if it's quiet a bit flexible. It was our first visit but certainly not our last. Disabled access and a good size carpark.

As usual I’ve had a magnificent breakfast at Allington Cafe. I’m always delighted with the array of gluten free cakes on offer, and I’m confident that the staff know about cross contamination, so it’s a worry free experience, when often eating out as a coeliac is somewhat stressful. The gluten free bread for my breakfast sarnie is one of the best I’ve tasted as gf bread is often more like cardboard. The farm fresh produce is second to none and the staff are always so friendly, I honestly don’t mind dining alone.

The best way to describe Allington Cafe is to think of a typical country farm shop, with top notch pub food. The breakfast boasts the usual artisan produce such as avocado with mushrooms and scrambled eggs while their lunch menus give us burgers and currys. Honestly worth the visit, and may I suggest the chicken and chorizo burger and double fried chips. Oh and if you're sweet toothed, the cakes are amazing. Take away available for all foods/drinks and you go to your own counter for that. Also, dog friendly. A huge plus to us four legged owners.

Bustling breakfast cafe which serves coffee worthy of any independant coffee shop and a half decent breakfast. Classier than a builders cafe but twice the price and with smaller portions, the service was excellent, staff confident and knowledgeable. On the wet and cold Sunday morning when we visited, the place was full within half an hour of opening so it's obviously very popular. Or maybe the only decent place in the area, I dont know, but it certainly offered respite from the weather outside. The atmosphere within depends very much on where you are seated. If you are in the main part of the shop it's cosy and inviting, if you are in the entrance/conservatory it's bustling with people coming and going, yet stark in decoration. Choose to sit inside if possible.

Lovely breakfast & really nice staff. The only negative was that customers are allowed to bring dogs in the restaurant. Dogs should not be allowed in a restaurant, apart from assistance dogs that is. They smell, make noise, and they sit on the seats. Signs say they shouldn't, but it puts staff in a difficult position. This needs to be sorted out, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to take a dog into a restaurant.

My partner and I visit 2 or 3 times a month. I usually love it there. The chips are always great btw. I went for the Lasagne which was £15 and on the Specials board. It came with garlic bread and side salad, both good. The lasagne was a bit of a let-down. The filling which was meant to be meat based ( I think anyways - didn’t say it was veg) was very patchy with tiny cubes of celery, carrot and potato. Not a patch on buying a lovely gastro lasagne from a supermarket. The filling felt skimpy and the fact they bulk it out with cheap ingredients just felt a bit mean. I will give lasagne a wide birth next time I see it on the specials. We both had cake after. Very nice, no complaints there.

We popped down to Quidhampton for the village fireworks hosted by the White Horse. Absolutely AMAZING evening; Fireworks were fabulous (probably 25 minutes of impressive show), DJ Dion kept the kids entertained at a great family friendly disco event in a marquee, there were sparklers for the kids and the bar and grill were a great addition. Queues were significant at times, but not surprising given the popularity of the event. Having been out of the country for a few years, this was our kids' first proper firework night and its going to take some beating. Thank you Quidhampton and the White Horse, we'll be back!

Ate here on a Sunday lunchtime- 3 adults and 2 young children. Whole experience was excellent. We didn’t have a booking and phoned up with about 20 minutes notice. They fitted us in no problem with a space that was very well suited for us. All the staff were lovely, and it was clear all the customers were enjoying themselves too. Food was great - huge roast servings with fantastic Yorkshire puddings (our 3 year old is a Yorkshire pudding fanatic and he rated them highly). Would definitely recommend.

This is fairly local to us and we decided to have an early evening birthday dinner. Even at 6 on a Monday it was pleasantly busy creating a nice atmosphere. Service was prompt and friendly and there was a good range of real ales on offer including 3 kegs of guest beers. Food choice was exceptional to the point of making it hard to decide which of several options to choose. When it arrived the food was extremely good and well presented. All in all a very good experience.

More style and price, than substance. Lovely setting, beautiful rambling walled garden with posh servers. But the restaurant food can be really bad! Bean dip (but called something much more lyrical, which I forget) was tasteless/ bland. Even I can just liquidise a tin of beans, and burn a carrot, but I season them properly and do expect much more for the prices. Much is made of local suppliers, and the meat dishes always seem to get better comments from my friends. The veggie food and deserts are expensive and not tasty, original or quality. If you are happy paying highly for meaty food, in a unique setting, then feel free. But I would avoid veggie and vegan (and probably the deserts).
