The best restaurants in Wiltshire South West

We have never been to this restaurant before but after seeing some positive reviews we thought we would try it for lunch. The restaurant had plenty of parking , which is always a plus , and the food on the menu looked great . As I need a gluten and diary free meal this can sometimes be tricky , but I ordered the burger and fries , and it was hands down one of the best burgers I have had. Really tasty and great portion size . The service was also excellent, and we had a lovely time. I would highly recommend this place , and will be going back for sure .

It was an excellent experience and we received a warm welcome. The food was sensational and the presentation was excellent, making everything look appetising, plus the service was very good. In addition, it is a comfortable, relaxing location.

Very disappointed. 4 of us had meals, 2 of us had hunters chicken which was disgusting, it was tough and dry and stingy looking, we mentioned and showed bar staff how bad chicken was but all she could say was I will inform Chef, no apology and we were still charged full price. My family have been going here roughly weekly for at least 10 years on a Mon or Tues and twice on a Monday evening we have had bad experiences with food and the barmaid is abrupt & does not care about customer satisfaction. Also once on a Tuesday we had a bad meal but the lovely cheerful barmaid that does a Tuesday's was very helpful & replaced my meal straight away. As we paid for the meal i took the dry chicken home for my dog, even she didn't eat it.

The homemade parsnip soup was lush. Looks popular as even though it's hidden away it's busy. Staff helpful and don't close off half the shop an hour before closing like many other coffee shops.

Lovely cafe, breakfast was very nice although a little pricey. The tea was really good.

Excellent quality food. Lamb and chicken dishes very tasty and cooked to perfection. Onion bhaji not greasy and saag aloo and Bombay potato delicious. Good size portions which we couldn’t quite finish. Great service too.

I was very impressed from a first time visit. Good beer and restaurant quality food. We had reasonably attentive service despite the pub being very busy on an early Friday evening. The previous guests had't vacated the table that had been reserved for us but we were able to sit outside and enjoy a dring in the late afternoon sun while we waited. I thoroughly enjoyed my starter of prawns with a slightly tangy sauce. The main dish of gurnard was even better - perfectly cooked and completely bone free in a delicious beurre blanc with brown shrimps and new potatoes in melted butter. We didn't have space for a desert. The dining area was very comfortable with a good amount of space between the tables. Given the quality of the food I thought that the prices were very reasonable. I would certainly hope to make a return visit.

Lovely staff. Quick service but the worst curry I've had. Wife had a butter chicken. Was basically a korma with some dessicated coconut chucked in. My dopiaza was missing any form of spice and the keema nan was missing quite a lot of keema. Poppadoms and garlic rice and nan were OK, very oily. The bombay potatoes were fantastic the only part of the meal finished. Ended up taking the chicken out of the dishes, washing it in the sink and giving to the dog.

I came here yesterday for a wedding reception and the food was lush. Great choice of drinks. Reasonably priced too. Friendly staff. Car park was well signed for the wedding party.

Picked up a TA from here tonight and it completely exceeded all expectations. Really flavoursome and great service. Recommended.

We were looking for somewhere in Cricklade to have a quick lunch. So glad we found this place tucked down a side street. Full of flavour and spiced just as I asked for. Thanks.

Haven’t been for years thought we’d try it out, wished we hadn’t bothered. Sunday lunch was below average, Turkey was rubbery, veg was ok, all pretty cold. Considering it was roast dinner we had to waiting almost 40 minutes for it. Pudding was tasteless. I’ve had better at a Toby carvery. Service was poor will definitely not go back. Very sad used to be so good….

Spent two amazing nights at The George in one of lovely en suite rooms .Treated like old friends by the staff, amazing hospitality, a service you just don't get anymore.The food was amazing, everything cooked from local ingredients. The room was very comfortable with a level of attention to detail some hotels just can't achieve.
