The best restaurants in Wiltshire South West

Was passing through and read the reviews so decided to try it ,and wasn't disappointed. We had steak and ale pies which absolutely lovely . Nice place and staff where great .

Beautiful courtyard on the plaza seating for a sunny day. Fresh handmade bites. They have coffee etc, but I did not try the coffee to rate it.

Mixed feelings here...... Staff very good, food good but why charge £1.50 for a mediocre yorkshire pudding? It is flour and milk????? Also be aware that the Sunday lunch is £25 for 2 courses not £22 as per their website. If you decide to go around Christmas when they do have a Christmas menu available, you cannot order from the A la Carte menu and the Christmas menu. Apparently this is for the ease of the kitchen and not for the customer. My question is if our 4some had sat at 2 tables of 2, would that have been OK ???

Busy pub with good beer selection

Dreadful pizza, dried out cardboard and pointless. Took most home for the birds. Restaurant quite pleasant inside and staff nice.

Really busy breakfast service, had to queue for 15 mins for a table. Ordered and advised 30 minute wait for food. Drinks came out quick. Staff were friendly. The food however wasn’t great. Looked as though it had been sat under the hot plate for too long. Mushrooms were non existent and the tomato was mush. Value for Money not bad… I think they struggled with the number of customers.

We fancied a good Thai meal after golf at Castle Combe. We walked into an empty restaurant on a Wednesday evening around 7 pm and were welcomed by the staff. Obviously it felt strange to be in an empty restaurant but 4 other couples came in before we left. We chose the two course menu at £25.95 each and it was very pleasant without being exceptional. Was it value for money. We would say average. Have we had better for the same price. Definitely yes. So all in all it was quite edible but not great value for money and it lacked atmosphere. Will we return. Unfortunately not.

Visited again this week and enjoyed a great evening of excellent hospitality. One of the party has an intolerance and the menu had been marked up on arrival to highlight dishes to avoid - thank you. We all really enjoyed every dish and dessert ordered, drinks were promptly refreshed and service was perfect.

Came on a Saturday for lunch, glad we booked as it was nearly full, service was good, food was great, Asahi on draft as well. Recommend the Jackfruit cakes which were really tasty, and the Gin and Tonic Prawns were excellent.

Visited a few times & always impressed with great customer service, quality food & portion sizes + great choice of beers & ales makes this place great for any occasion! I like to take international work colleagues here, as I feel it represents everything good about a traditional British inn

After a busy morning trawling through Trowbridge, I came upon this little place 🐟quite by accident but I'm glad I did as I was famished. It wasn't hard to decide what to have: plaice and chips, and it was delicious! The staff were all absolutely lovely, so friendly, helpful and polite. My experience with service went swimmingly. I recommend getting a bite here. (All fishing/fish puns in this review were fully intended! 😁)

Food was slightly late. However, the food is great as always from Il Camino.

Lovely food. Friendly service. Cosy atmosphere. Reasonable prices.
