We had a lovely small family gathering here. Brie stater was a lovely start for myself followed by a huge lamb shank with rosemary gravy. Even the children’s goujons was a massive plate Lovely younger waitresses all with smiles on their faces

Booking for 6 at 6pm on a Friday… arrived to a reasonably empty pub which was ok. Ordered food and drinks, so far so good. Then the food arrived and all down hill from there. Hunters chicken, dry as if yesterday’s heated up. Steak and ale pie… bland.. mashed potatoe dry, dauphinous potatoes were drowned in oil.. not great.. as much as they discounted the bill and rightly so, I won’t be returning…

We stopped over for lunch at the Bell Inn on 20th September. We were a party of eight, four of us being vegetarians. We had an amazing experience at this lovely pub. The food was just great and very well catered for the vegetarians. The home made desserts were absolutely delicious. We had a great service with smile from Charlotte and her team. Thoroughly recommend this pub.

My partner and I were meeting up with friends for Sunday lunch so, after looking on Tripadvisor for pubs midway between where we and they live, we settled on The Bell Inn at Yatton Keynell based on the good reviews we had read. The pub is popular, particularly for Sunday lunch, so we booked for 12.15. On our arrival, as the weather was sunny and warm, we asked if we could have a drink in their attractive garden before sitting down to eat. The immediate response was "Of course" - it's always nice to be dealing with someone with such a positive attitude, which is unfortunately not always the case. We had been allocated a table in a corner but once again we received an affirmative yes to our request to move to a table by the window, which was unoccupied. We decided not to have a starter to allow sufficient room for a pudding and ordered two suet puddings, one roast beef and one roast lamb main course. The portions were generous and the vegetables kept on coming - three different potatoes and a choice of at least five, perfectly cooked al dente vegetables. The puddings were so tempting that, although we were no longer hungry after our main course, we couldn't resist ordering the lemon meringue roulade served with custard, cream or ice cream - as if the roulade wasn't sufficient without any accompaniment! As the weather was still sunny we ended up sitting in the garden enjoying a coffee before finally heading home. Needless to say we didn't have room for anything else to eat for the remainder of the day. We look forward to returning to The Bell Inn in the not too distant future, certain of another excellent repast!

We stopped here for dinner last night. What a fabulous place! Wonderful service, decent menu and beautiful food. It was well presented, efficiently served and generous portions. We had a lovely time and it’s a great building too with a lot of atmosphere and history. We really were impressed. I had Thai fishcakes - fantastic, taste, lovely seasoning and not too much potato. The roulade dessert was just fabulous too, delicious texture and wonderfully light.

My son and daughter had travelled up to see me and their mother in Wiltshire, after their mother had been admitted to hospital as an emergency. The crisis being over, we (I and the adult children) decided to treat ourselves to an evening out. We had much to talk about and so the first thing we found to our liking at The Bell was that it was quiet – no recorded music to contend with. We could speak to and listen to each other without any need to shout. The staff were nice, not least the younger members who served us with friendly efficiency. We all enjoyed the food. For starters I had deep fried calamari with a chilli dip, and my son the garlic mushrooms which he pronounced excellent. For main courses I and my son had lasagne with dauphinoise potatoes and steamed fresh vegetables and my daughter chose Thai Cod and Prawn fishcakes. It seems to me that there is an increasing trend towards allowing dogs into pub restaurants and I do not apologise for expressing my dislike for this. In the bar area it is OK if they are quiet and stay put, preferably under a table. I was pleased to see no mutts in the restaurant proper. Incidentally, I did not see any reference to dog-friendliness or otherwise on the Bell’s web site and have to say that had I found that I would be required to share a dining room with a dog I would have politely taken my leave. So, all positive for me, and I look forward to taking my wife for a meal at The Bell when she has returned fully to good health. I did not see a facility on the web site for making a reservation online. I would have liked that, although I have to say that when I telephoned I got a prompt reply.

We selected the cod and haddock and chips. The food arrived promptly, piping hot and lots of it.Chips were home made and really delicious. The following lunch time we tucked into the 4 egg ommlette-,salad and chips again tasty and plentiful. Finally,we had Sunday lunch-roast -one of us had pork, the other beef.Once again,it was served promptly, hot ,lots of meat and vegetables and scrumptious gravy. The dessert menu had lots of options-many I noticed were gluten free also.Unfortunately ,we both felt too full from our meals to sample them. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and they don't hurry you. The pub itself is bright, the tables are well spaced out. There are lots of photos from past times on the walls which we enjoyed looking at.

The pub was packed but we had great service thought the server handled all the people very well, with a smile. (One other was bringing some of the food out.) We had the Chicken Paris, which as unusual but tasted great, a very large portion, and the steak pie which was also very tasty. Unusual to see the veg brought out in serving dishes these days, but great as you could eat as much as you needed. Very reasonably priced. If we lived locally this would be a favourite place to visit.

Was staying in Chippenham and decided to try out The Bell Inn on Weds 19 May 2021 for dinner - indoors, as restrictions had recently been eased. What a wonderful pub. Thick stone walls with wood burner fire. Well spaced out tables in a light airy environment meant that I felt safe with the Covid restrictions they had in place.Staff were wonderful. So friendly and chatty. Took time to talk to everyone who entered the pub and made you feel really welcome. We're more than happy for our dog to be in the pub while we ate, which was really appreciated. They were also very efficient in getting menus, drinks and leaving enough time between courses Finally, the food. Saving the best bit of my review to the end. The food was simply superb. Restaurant quality, hot, fresh and well presented. I had pate which was smooth, light and plentiful. Served with 4 x half triangle slices of hot toast, butter, pot of beer chutney and side salad. My hubby had a bowl of crispy whitebait served with brown bread and butter, tartar sauce and side salad. Main courses were Chicken Paris (Chicken, bacon and mushrooms in white wine cream sauce) with chips and salad. I had stuffed roast pork tenderloin strapped in bacon served with applies in a cider sauce served with new potatoes and garden fresh vegetables (cauliflower, carrots, green beans, mashed swede). Dessert was nearly not an option as I was so full after my wonderful meal, but we were tempted by the hot chocolate and salted caramel tart served with smooth vanilla icecream....and 2 spoons!! The bill for all of this came to just over £50 for the 2 of us - and that included 4 drinks! This little gem of a pub is now firmly on my list for future visits and I definitely recommend that you try it out too

We came to the bell early on a Monday night just after reopening. We were extremely happy to see the measures they were taking to keep everyone safe, Table service to keep people from crowding the bar, a chalkboard with the menu on place by our table so we could see. cutlery not bought out until we had ordered so it wasn't sat around on the able before, staff wearing visors or face-masks. Most of all our favourite dishes of cod mornay and mushroom and brie wellington were still on the menu!!!! we felt safe and throughly enjoyed the evening.

Had a takeaway roast today one lamb one turkey. Came in containers which kept the food hot. It was absolutely delicious with lots of veggies and will definitely order again. Give the chef a pat on the back.

We had 3 portions of fish & chips which were very disappointing. The chips were awful. Totally over cooked and hardly any potato content. The fish was ok but again the batter was over done and the fish dry. We've had fish & chips from The Bell on many occasions and they were really good but this was awful.£30 wasted.

I asked my dad where he wanted to go for some food for his birthday & as always, he said The Bell. Dad had steak & I went for chicken Paris. Both dishes were amazing. Chicken Paris is chicken, bacon & mushrooms in a Pernod & Stilton sauce, it was absolutely delicious. As always, everything was fresh & the vegetable selection was good, nothing frozen there. Dad went for the crumble for dessert, which he said was nice. Lovely place, lovely fresh food

Although it was Sunday and some of us preferred ham egg and chips, the cook/ staff were very obliging, a very pleasant visit

Returned to the Bell after a while eating elsewhere. The reception was great and they insisted on doing my favourite meal ( Spannish Chicken) even though not on standard menu. It was delicious!!! Well done the Bell and their Kitchen!!!

Lovely cafe with large selection of cakes, sandwiches and decent coffee. we stopped here to refuel whilst riding King Alfred's Way. Friendly staff, clean toilets, sensible Covid precautions and next door to a little Nisa shop for anything else you need

Stopped on a trip from Cinderford to Romsey , have driven past many times but never had time to stop, husband and son had ‘small ‘ breakfast and I had toast and jam, the breakfast was a great size, quickly served and tasted great, really good value for money . Toilets and rest of premises are really clean and can’t wait to visit again

Food was lovely, my boyfriend and I haven’t enjoyed a meal as much as that in a while. Food and drinks are low price, especially considering the portion size. Service was good; they were fast and they made sure everything was okay. Definitely coming back☺️
