Popped in for lunch with my daughter and both ordered the baked potatoes. Reasonable price and pleasant surroundings. When the food arrived we were amazed! Each had a piping hot potato with butter at side with attractive salad and huge slice of Brie cheese - - - the plate was full, food well served and delicious. I just have to diet before a return visit!!

We have loved using this place since we moved to Daventry in September 2020. Went to order last night only to find that they have closed and a fish bar will be opening in their place :-(

Called my order in before as everything is cooked fresh so didn’t want to wait. The breakfast I had was on point. The egg was very slightly firm underside and a yoke that broke as I dipped my whole grain Chunky toast into it. The sausage was good Great and the bacon was crispy. I could talk about the black pudding and how they cook the mushroom in butter but I think I’ve said enough. If I had to recommend a place for being on point this would be it.

Absolutely the best chippy in yeovil since the 90's. Great portions, great price, and a friendly welcome.

We first visited The White Horse in Haselbury Plucknett for Sunday lunch and were so impressed we came back later that week to try the sharing board and à la carte menu. The Sunday roast was spot-on—generous portions of dry-aged beef, Wiltshire pork belly, and free-range chicken, all beautifully cooked and served with classic sides and proper gravy. Later in the week, the sharing board was a real highlight. The sirloin, slow roast pork, and Devon chicken were all full of flavour, and the “dirty mash” with crispy lamb belly was a standout. You can tell there’s a lot of care in the cooking here—simple things done very well. We also had a few pints of Harry’s Scrumpy, a delicious, proper farm cider made from local apples. It’s got that cloudy, honest quality you want in a Somerset cider. The pub itself has real character—warm, welcoming, and full of charm. Definitely one to revisit.
