Amazing way to meet with people. Food is so nice there to friendly staff

One of our party had the BBQ pork ribs. Just to say that a small finger bowl and a plate for the ribs would have been helpful. Great atmosphere and excellent food. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. We look forward to coming again.

Me and my wife went here again to be nosy. Under new management. Lunch was fantastic as always. Same Chef and staff.. Jack the bar manager still there. He's great. Met Emma new owner. Very nice. You MUST try this place out. We live in Chard so very lucky to have a great dining place close by.

Mothering Sunday We booked here after seeing the website and sample menus Basically, the sample menu and actual have little similarity The pub is basically not trading No draft beer , lager No sparkling water etc Having come thru the hospitality troubles and lost a business I know how tough it is But be fair on your page state limited options Remain polite, and remember the customer can make an informed decision as we did and left before we ordered as frankly having seen some food going out thought it was not to our taste One last point, decency when addressing customers costs little, an off hand rude attitude in a market where other choices exist is not acceptable Much to be improved

Great food service and great meal size I'm updating my review just had a meal from there today it was perfection, staff are so nice, the shop itself very welcoming clean ☺️ definitely worth every penny and that wasn't alot for the huge portions we got

The service was absolutely apalling, we told the lad three times that we were ready to place our order of which he replied he would be with us shortly. What was very annoying was he took orders from 2 tables that arrived after us. So after 40 minutes all four of us got up & left. We certainly won't be returning.

Nice and clean, good food and a really good experience. Staff were helpful as well. I would go again and I would recommend a visit.

Lovely cafe and fabulous staff. I had thought there would be vegan options and we could have had a jacket potato with baked beans, but luckily the soup was vegan and delicious. Also they had a vegan chocolate cake which was out of this world!!

We had a terrible experience here, we couldn't get coffee as for some reason they decided to clean machine at 11 am 🤔, we couldn't have proper cups because they were all in dish washer 😳😏 The waitresses attitude was so abrupt bordering in rude I wonder that she even bothered turning up to work. Coffee when it finally arrived was full fat milk with skin on top utterly revolting The cafe inside had quite a revolting smell too 🤢

We had a takeaway so I can’t comment on the atmosphere. The foo was absolutely delicious and so fresh tasting.

We were given a night at Holm with an evening meal, chefs tasting menu, for our birthdays. The room 'Elm' was beautiful, spacious, with an enormous bath right in the room. The room was quiet, although on the road, hardly any traffic. Dinner was great fun, little tasting plates, which did take quite a time to arrive but it gave us space to digest between courses. We chose very good white and red wines, the wine list is impressive. We can recommend a stay at Holm.

I can only imagine that the people who write excellent reviews have never been out of Somerton or experienced what truly great fish and chips is like. If your idea of the perfect fish and chip supper is greasy chips and soggy batter on the fish, then you will love this place, if however you prefer light and crispy batter that has a bit of a crunch and nice fluffy chips that don’t need the fat wringing out of them, then I truly recommend you go elsewhere

Not the easiest place to get to but only a minute walk from several car parks. Diner seating layout. Good selection on the menu. I went for Chicken burger and chips (rice offered as an alternative) meal deal with a drink. Cooked while I waited so it was fresh before the drive home. Couldn't fault the burger and the chips were tasty and stayed crisp.
