Went for Mothers Day lunch with mine and my wife's parents, the pub was very busy, as you'd expect, But lea and the team were very accommodating to us. The bar area was very busy with locals from the village and other customers, but we were led to a nice quiet and secluded part of the pub, which was perfect for a family of all ages. The young man who took our orders was very polite and informative, credit to the pub. All the food came for us at the same time, was hot, and all plates cleared. I can thoroughly recommend the Nachos with mince and lov ing the Jalapeños. The pub was as busy as I'd ever seen it, all the staff were run off their feet, but all done with a smile, and nothing too much trouble. Lea does an amazing job and works so hard.

We went there for Mothering Sunday. It took over an hour and a half to receive our main course. Unfortunately the food was very poor quality. The restaurant was exceedingly busy but we had booked well ahead. I’m sure on a less busy day things would be better.

Stayed overnight in the van, Lea was relaxed about when we turned up. Great beers on tap, really friendly staff and locals. Dog welcome. Quality pub grub, incredible onion rings. Decent atmosphere for a Thursday night. Toilet open overnight. Offered breakfast in the morning too, it would've been class but we had to make a move. What more could you want?

We stayed here in our camper with EHU. We enjoyed a lovely dinner and drinks and a wonderful hot breakfast in the morning. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Thank you for having us 😊

Welcomed and seated as had reserved a table for 4 on a Saturday afternoon. Specials were listed before we had asked, very efficient. We ordered drinks whilst waiting for friends, the draft diet coke was dreadful but the staff offered an alternative. We went for coke zero in a can and was served with a smile. Food was delicious and good standard. Just had room for pudding, I had Aller Lemon Mess which was superb. Thanks for a lovely experience we will return 😁

This is our second visit to The Pound Inn. Its a wonderful place to stay, nr to our family. The breakfast are fantastic, all home cooked by Lea. Would recommend this pub to everyone. Hope to see you again in the New Year. Tom & Jenny Jones

The atmosphere was lovely and the food was home cooked and well worth the price. Would definitely be returning again and would definitely recommend a look in.

A clean, friendly, and charming hotel.

Not a great experience. We stayed for one night. On arrival, we checked in after having already booked and paid online for 2 adults and 2 dogs and they wanted to charge us an extra £15 per dog per night. This price is not shown during booking and they do not provide anything for dogs after having paid this, not even a water bowl. The room was ok, the bathroom had recently been renovated which was nice however the door to it wouldn't remain shut. The bathroom heater was also on full heat throughout the stay with no way of turning it off. The carpet was dirty and very dated. The breakfast was incredibly oily and the cereals were stale. Unfortunately we would not stay again

Fantastic find, service was amazing. Food was top draw. And very well priced. Best of all was the atmosphere, made to feel welcome from the second we walked in.

One night stayover on route. Lovely Room, Great Breakfast. Secure Parking. Looking forward to a longer stay next time. Recomended.

Wow what a place, we went on a Sunday so had a carvery although it was dished up on the plate but tasted delicious 😋. A great choice on the menu if you don't want the carvery and all at reasonable prices. Bar staff and waitress were both friendly and very obliging. Well done all

Came here for a Sunday roast while staying the area, after reading the positive reviews we were looking forward to a nice meal. Sadly this was not the case, the veg was basically raw and the meat was a bit grisly we were all disappointed with the quality. Besides the meal, you can feel that it’s a local pub and as people new to the area we felt like we stuck out like sore thumbs and felt uncomfortable when in the bar area. Lovely place otherwise and staff are brilliant and great customer service/hospitality. Really clean and well looked after

Stopped in our motorhome with the kids - rang ahead and had a spot saved! Ehu, water and toilets open throughout! Couldn’t ask for more and some fab food too. Would really recommend.

We went to meet others for lunch, so I can't rate the rooms. Easy to find, but car park quite small. Food and drinks were excellent. Service friendly and helpful.

Found this Lovely little pub on a hike, it had a huge menu and reasonably priced I food was tasty too

A nice pub ideal for a coffee drink or meal

The main reason to go to the Old Pound Inn is Lea… she was our host and a good cook. We were served breakfast every morning as part of our booking and we never missed having Lea cook for us in the evening. Every bite was delicious. Her meat pie was homemade and the best I have ever eaten, her sticky toffee pudding was the best my wife and I have ever had. The cost of eating our evening meal was less expensive than most of the places we found to eat elsewhere on our holiday and the food was the absolute best. With many bed and breakfasts we have had a hard time to find an acceptable place to eat in the evening, we did not have that problem here. They were open until 9:00pm and the food was the best. Lea’s staff were very attentive and very friendly. The room was excellent, the location was very central to the Cornwall Peninsula and southern Wales. We saw the Cheddar Gorge and a very large number of castles and locations in southern Wales. The Old Pound Inn was the very best part of our stay in the area. Wales and western England were easily accessible from this location. The inn was located in a very small quiet town, just short of rural. This is a must stay location… there could be no better than this best.

Spent 3 nights last week. Hotel Lovely Staff excellent Highly recommended.Just one problem. It is very difficult to get a taxi to Bridgewater.But in fairness that is not the pubs fault.

Very good hotel and good breakfast. We were there late and the owner wait till we arrive. We didn't have much time to explore further. Will come back to stay if we will there again.

Lovely meal in a lovely old inn. Best steak I've had in a long, long time. Flying visit so can't Comment on rooms, but would love to stopover in the future.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Old Pound Inn for my birthday lunch with family and it was an absolute delight! From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was captivated by the charming ambience that this historic inn exudes. The authenticity and attention to detail in preserving its traditional English character is truly commendable. The staff at the Old Pound Inn were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They were always willing to go the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed even when we requested condiments and additional gravy for the meals. The food of course was the highlight of my visit... The menu featured a variety of traditional British dishes, all prepared with fresh and high-quality ingredients. I of course being a creature of habit opted for my old friend Mr Scampi and his accompaniment of chiplets, which were very nicely seasoned, which added an extra sparkle to them. The Sticky toffee pudding with custard I had as a dessert was just delightful too. The location of the Old Pound Inn is perfect for those seeking a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Surrounded by picturesque countryside, it offers plenty of opportunities for scenic walks and exploration. Additionally, it is conveniently located near several charming villages and historic landmarks, making it an ideal base for sightseeing. In conclusion, my experience at the Old Pound Inn exceeded all expectations. It truly felt like stepping back in time, embracing the rich history and warm hospitality that England is renowned for. I cannot recommend this enchanting inn enough to anyone looking for a memorable and authentic stay in the heart of the countryside.

We decided to go cycling to Glastonbury and over the levels so chose The Old Pound Inn to park our campervan for a night. We couldn't have made a better choice. We were made very welcome indeed. After a 50 miles ride we needed a good meal and the food was excellent not to mention the beer. The atmosphere was really good and we were attended to by some of the friendliest, most helpful staff we've encountered. Stay or visit here and you won't be disappointed.

Go there on a Sunday at approximately 14 45 pm managed to get a Sunday roast was perfect and good prices lovely pup with parking deffo going back even just for a pint or three. Staff are friendly. Dogs allowed

We stayed here overnight in our motorhome. No charge as we ate in the pub. Food good and reasonably priced. Staff and locals all friendly and helpful. The car park is more suited to campers and smaller vans. Bit tricky backing the 8.5m van onto the main road to exit.. A nice stopover

Exactly what we needed including air conditioned rooms in 30° heat. The shower was awesome too. Friendly staff and customers alike 😄 Great ice cream. A short-ish drive to Glastonbury Abbey House for the event. We enjoyed our stay and bimble round the village, blackberrying, visiting the park and the church.

Stayed here for 2 nights. What a great place. The room looked recently refurbished, lovely and clean bathroom, all the amenities I need including bottled water, mini fridge and air conditioning! And of course after a few pints a short walk to the room. Food was great, especially locally sourced breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful, with suggestions of various areas to visit. Excellent value from a charming property. Would definitely stay again and recommend when in the area.

Fantastic hotel. Was there with a Liberal Democrat colleague to help out in the Somerton and Frome by-election. The rooms were fantastic, breakfast was awesome and the staff were lovely. No complaints from me.

Had campervan good for two campers parking as long as you give custom food meal, welcome to stay overnight, friendly great service power available to hook up, if needed, very friendly and helpful prompt service, food good quick, and I enjoyed my time here thank you for the welcome, and great beer as well.

We had a meal, was lovely but plates are cold. Husband doesn't like hot food on a cold plate!

Went here looking for a local place that accommodated take-away pizza. Lovely lady on the phone and 5pm collection time was met with hot food on time. Not the greatest taste/quality pizzas sadly. £33 for 3 Pre bought cheap pizza bases and heaps of tomato puree, chip portion was a joke! If you want to see what £3 gets you take a look at the photo, just enough for a 3 year old lol It was very much a locals only pub if you know what I mean so non locals exspect the usual staring and "see you next year" comments.
