The Old Parlour Farm Shop in South Somerset

Called my order in before as everything is cooked fresh so didn’t want to wait. The breakfast I had was on point. The egg was very slightly firm underside and a yoke that broke as I dipped my whole grain Chunky toast into it. The sausage was good Great and the bacon was crispy. I could talk about the black pudding and how they cook the mushroom in butter but I think I’ve said enough. If I had to recommend a place for being on point this would be it.

We were staying in our caravan nearby for 2 weeks and the site owner recommended the Old Parlour Farm Shop and café. The farm shop sells a good range of local produce and also a wonderful selection of home made pies, pastries and bread. Attached to the shop is a small café open for breakfasts, lunch and snacks. The food and service was delightful - this place is a hidden gem. Obviously well liked by locals because there were usually plenty of customers when we visited. The menu includes a wonderful (and filling) full English breakfast and - my favourite which I requested on recommendation - smashed avocados on toast, served with a poached egg, mushroom and grilled tomatoes on the vine. I also recommend the sausage rolls - a meal in itself....
