My local place to eat, great staff, always helpful. Will go the extra mile for you. But treat with respect.

Another great visit for lunch. Excellent service, and the food was, as always, delicious.

Visited on good friday. Flat carpark, plenty of parking. Very busy, managed to get a table, shared it, not a problem. Good breakfast, plenty of choice, good tea. Deserve 5 stars, staff work so hard, pity weather was poor.

Have passed here many times and finally stopped today for lunch. Plenty of choice on the menu and good value too. Very busy but service was still prompt. Will have to call again for a breakfast - any 10 items for £12 !!!

Took the dog for breakfast. It's nice to have the ability to choose what you have, as my husband is picky. Good food in a clean cafe with friendly staff.

Had a great visit here with our car club on the 16th March 25 with group of 12 of us. Coffee was lovely and plenty of food choices for our group. Booking was easy with friendly staff and a table reserved for us . Thank you to the staff

Breakfasts were very good. Dog friendly, not a lot of space inside, but plenty of benches outside.

Been past this dozens of times but a friend and I who celebrates our birthdays 2 weeks apart took me out for a surprise bereakfast, the food was wholesome and friendly staff, it seemed popular by the number of people there

Came here over the weekend with some family friends. I hadn't been here before and have recently arrived from New Zealand, so was intrigued to see what breakfast options were available. Spoilt for choice! And really liked that you could pick and choose what items you wanted with your breakfast; I had 6 items (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, hash brown, tomatoes and mushrooms). Such great value! Will definitely come again next time I am out this way

Excellent. Staff are always polite and friendly, the food is great and reasonably priced. A good selection of homemade food and cakes, often with dairy/gluten free options. Well worth a visit. Well done 👍

Great Farm shop and Cafe! I've enjoyed everything about it each time I've visited! Food is next level, atmosphere is great, clean, tidy and lovely staff. Although I live an hour away I still make sure I visit when I'm in the area. Keep it up guys

I’ve visited many times over the years and the food is always top quality with a top service, it’s clean and tidy. Cant ever fault it. Ignore fake reviews.

This is the place to visit if you prefer your ‘full English’ served…… on a tea plate !! Heavy portion control in place, mean portions in fact, admittedly my visit was five months ago, but I can’t bring myself to take the risk again, the food and coffee was good, price reasonable, but a ‘tea plate’ noooo :-(((

Great stop, food is very tasty and hearty, our third stop here, able to park our motorhome tucked up by the hedge, there is an overflow down the right side to the back but haven't needed to use it. Lovely stop on way south. Thanks also for excellent service from the ladies. XXX

Cracking little Cafe and Farm shop. We were passing through and fancied breakfast and this was just right. Love that they let you choose what you want in your breakfast at a fixed price for 4 or 6 items. Also, lovely location, plenty of green space and nice outdoor seating area.

Met up with some friends for coffee. There's plenty of parking round the back if it looks busy. It was busy but the friendly staff kept on top of it and everyone seemed happy with the service. We didn't eat but it seemed a popular place for tradesmen to drop into. We'll have to go back to check out the shop!

Fantastic place for breakfast with the family, the staff were great with the service. My daughter actually wants to go again just because she was able to order her own food as they spoke to her and not just at me. She loved the scrambled egg and toast .

Called into this establishment this morning on my way to our job for a bacon and egg bag which was stuffed full of bacon and was very tasty.Lovely well appointed establishment with a cafe and farm shop offering a wide range of products.With indoor and outdoor seating.The staff very friendly helpful and attentive and the service was very quick.would visit again when in the area and recommend to others

Went for a light brunch, excellent service ,and good hot meal, a more than reasonable price, we could take our well behaved dog. All finished with drinks and homemade cake. Yummy 😋.

We popped in for a quick bite to eat. We had a 2 egg omelette and a cheese and beans jacket potato. Served by lovely staff and the food was absolutely delicious 5/5 We will be back for sure 😊

The customer service from all of the staff was just exemplary, everyone was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was so good that we came back for afternoon tea. And we’re going back for lunch tomorrow.

Lovely cafe with an extensive menu that includes some interesting items, as well as cafe standards. Good service and order completed in good time, eventhough they were busy. Little shop area containing frozen food and gift items.

Lovely place to stop for a drink and a rest. I would like to thank the staff today, 11th May, for helping with my parents & Auntie as they came to rest and have refreshment due to their car breaking down. Also, having to wait for AA to collect their car. Staff were very kind and helpful. They appreciate all the help once I came and collected them and packing to go on their holiday. Thank you again.

Came here on Sunday we weren't looking to stop anywhere we had taken a wrong turn to where we were going. So glad we did as it is a lovely 😍 little cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating . We received a warm welcome. Ordered two flat whites and what was called a cruffin I think that was the name of it. It was banoffee flavour and a cross between a croissant and a muffin it was delicious 😋 coffee ☕️ was good and nice and hot. Prices were reasonable. Lovely atmosphere and not too loud which is ideal. They also had a shop at the back of the cafe which sold various items. Will definitely return if passing this way again and maybe try the cooked good. Would totally recommend trying this place

Nice surroundings but we all ordered at the same time and the food come at different intervals and the prawns with the jacket potato were very watery as I've just been defrosted

Kate and her team are wonderful. It’s usually busy (rightly so) and they are always happy and welcoming. Dog and child friendly and my kids love going to Hamish’s. Great value for money and extensive choice of cakes and breakfast/lunch. You won’t be disappointed.

Out exploring the area, and stumbled across this little gem. We arrived just before they were closing for the day so only had time for coffee. We enjoyed it so much that we’ve decided to go back for breakfast on Friday on our way home. Would highly recommend a visit.

Very noisy with children and dogs.

Always a pleasure to visit when you want to fill up the freezer at home. Café was very busy when I went in last Saturday which says a lot about the food on offer! Staff are always friendly and helpful. I bought a lovely basket from the shop a few months ago which I use constantly. Also, Kate does Mothering Sunday scones with jam and cream nicely presented in a box - reasonably priced too! Keep goingetting, won't you?? Pip Baker xxx

Best breakfast we’ve had in a long time - service was friendly and the food was prepared and served quickly which is always a bonus! All amazing local produce and you could definitely tell the quality - it was delicious! Will definitely be visiting the cafe again! The shop is small but full of lots of lovely goodies from home cooked freezer meals, joints of meat, sauces and condiments and little nik-naks that would made perfect gifts!

Always a good breakfast with locally produced food

Visited the cafe just before Christmas for a breakfast treat. The cafe was busy but there were plenty of welcoming staff available to take our order and serve us promptly. We really enjoyed the generous portion of quality products which were super tasty and cooked perfectly. Many cakes and traybakes to chose from to takeaway too! Thank you Kate and team, you have a great place to visit.

Ah! Hamish-on-the-border; the farm shop and café, just off the A37 from Dorchester to Yeovil for lateral shopping and eating. 😁.. Pleasant eatery, nice selection of food; offers subjective itemised choices of hearty nosh like cooked brekky, hot soups and stews and other lighter just as tempting alternatives. Smiley attentive staff. There is parking outside. It has food freezers in its farmshop, and shelves/stands with biccies, cards and gifty things for sale, all on the same floor. There are tables and chairs outside waiting for clement weather folks and hardy souls. And I’m sure there are plants for sale – perhaps that was in the summer. All good.

Very average food and very over priced. Paid £14.50 for a ten item breakfast and coffee. Eggs nice. Bacon clearly pre cooked and reheated same for the sausage. Tiny portion of sautéed potatoes. Plum tomatoes cold or at best very luke warm. Fired bread too thick and not "proper" Coffee fine but over priced for the small cup. Own brand sauces. Can't recommend for the prices being charged. In response to your reply - what are you going on about?? I literally said the coffee was fine? Noticed you didn't respond to the poor food!

A great place to meet. As friends and ex carers, we wanted to treat our gentleman to a meal out as it is a rare treat for hom to leave the house. The staff were smiling and welcomed us warmly..they couldn't have been kinder. The menu is extensive, much of the food is home made and all reasonably priced. I didn't get the chance to visit the farm shop but it looked wonderful too. I wish the owners and staff yet another year of success and prosperity ...

A return visit introducing a relative. Kate and her team never fail to impress, whether you want breakfast, lunch or just coffee and cake ….and this is definitely ‘not just cake’ too full after a lovely soup and roll lunch we had ‘takeaway cake’ a lovely moist slab of Biscotti sponge cake for later. As well as the lovely cafe the farm shop is worth a visit for Hamish’s meat products or that ‘wonder what to get them’ gift. One of our favourite reasonably priced local cafes, definitely recommended. Plus Kate has introduced blue light card discount to the holder for food or shop purchases.

An adorable cafe, that welcomes everyone. Although I didn't eat there the breakfasts looked great. Can't wait to go back and try them. I also looked around the shop and I was amazed at the products they sold. Well done Hamish's I certainly got cafe envy as I have been in catering for many years and this would have been my dream xx

Disagree with earlier reviewer regarding frozen meat in the farm shop. Fairly priced tool It’s of fantastic quality, especially the Spanish sausages. Stunning! Everything thing I bought was thoroughly enjoyed by the family. Thank you. Sorry I didn’t stay for a breakfast, they looked great but will definitely be back.

Stopped off on my way to Dorset for early lunch. Easy parking. Plenty of seating. Fabulous choice of food & drinks. Toilets a little dated but clean. Excellent customer service with a friendly smile 😀 Thank you.

Our favourite local ‘go to’ Kate and her crew always have a smile on their face. Lovely home cooked food at sensible prices and always a great home made cake on the counter to tantalise your tastebuds. Today my partner and I chose the ploughman’s, lovely selection of foods and plentiful. And of course we couldn’t resist some of the Caramel and Ginger home made sponge cake to take away. We are also respite Foster Carers and never hesitate to take our young people with us here Whether you are passing or going to Hamish’s as a destination you won’t be disappointed 😊
