Lovely quick bite stop before the museum, limited food options but the bacon roll was deliciously fresh and perfect for breakky. Coffee was spot on, and service was great 👍🏻 best of all, super clean cafe and toilet facilities too.

Popped in for take out coffee & a snack, it was super busy & the young lady was on her own but she was doing a grand job, confidently working her way thru the queue with the perfect amount of customer interaction. There was a really nice vibe to the place, chatty customers & doggy friendly, the ginger crunch was divine. Will definitely return.

Looked delicious. Ordered two pre-made sandwiches and coffee and paid. Although there were only two people seated at a table, all the tables were dirty. We picked up the sheepskins off the floor and sat at the table nearest the counter. We waited, several other people came in and were served. After 15 mins and several passes the waitress said ‘Oh, I’ll clear this up in a minute’ after another 5 minutes we went to the counter and asked for a refund. The waitress said, oh, the order didn’t come through, this has happened before! They were too busy chatting to notice.

Fantastic pub. A very warm welcome, a great log fire and a fabulous menu. Two of us had lunch and we went with the burgers - meat and vege were both delicious with great onion rings and chips. The whole menu had plenty to choose from - lots of fresh/local ingredients. The owners couldn't have been more friendly/helpful and we will happily go again.

Fantastic Sunday lunch ! We were passing through and hadn’t booked. The staff were superb in trying to help us out and get us fed, before we carried on with our journey. Friendly staff, great food and just a shame that we couldn’t stay longer than we did. Great pub !!

We dined at 28 Market Place on Friday March 31st, a birthday meal. We were delighted by both the food and the service. The menu is reassuringly small, but sufficiently varied, and both my pickled mackerel starter and lamb rump main were very well cooked and presented, as were my wife’s linguine and cod. .Though certainly not cheap, it was fairly priced and good value, and considerably less expensive than the only plausible (though excellent) local rival in Bruton. Overall, it was a pleasurable experience, and we would be delighted to come again.

What a wonderful visit - great welcome from all the staff - a real Team. The food was delicious and well presented plus the atmosphere in the restaurant, although very busy as always, was very relaxed. Just a Great Big Thank You to you All. As you step out of the restaurant you're enter a most delightful shopping area; so many hand made goodies. Pottery, paintings, home crafted scarves + a super selection of cards + home made preserves and more. If you're thinking of visiting Somerset then think YANDLES.

This pub is, quite rightly, often empty. As locals to Fivehead we used to visit regularly until the absolutely overbearing familiarity and sarcasm of the landlord got too much for us. Usually there are just a couple of regulars in there, one of whom falls asleep at the bar most nights. The food is quite bland, and with the bar often abandoned it's very hard to even order it. If a dispute about an order is entered into, then a "Landlord is always right" attitude is adopted. The fact that the landlord puts insulting messages to locals in the village newsletter because they don't frequent the pub doesn't help to make it more inviting.A big problem for disabled people is that the disabled toilet is actually used as a store room and is inaccessible without moving chairs and a table out of the way.

Called in with a friend for a drink and we were tempted by the friendly welcome and enticing menu to opt for stopping for one of the “new to menu” pizzas and I am so glad we did! We both opted for the spicy pizza and I have to say… it was one of the best pizzas I have had. Freshly cooked and fully loaded - perfect! 😋

Went with a party of friends for Sunday lunch and was extremely disappointed at the standard of food. We were sat at a table outside the kitchens yet everything was served lukewarm with glutinous gravy. The meat was just piled on the plate burying, or should I say, concealing the small potato. The carrot, parsnip, yes singular, were greasy, whereas the broccoli, red cabbage and cauliflower cheese were missing some much needed warmth. The waitress kindly offered to bring us any additional vegetables so to supplement the meagre portion of roasts we asked for more along with some additional gravy. What was not mentioned was that these items would then be charged for, even £1.50 for the gravy. Not recommended and neither will we be returning.
