Amazing service and amazing food! Really impressed with the whole menu. We loved the chips, fish and curry sauce! Strongly recommend!

A bad experience all round. We booked for Valentines. We arrived and had to interrupt staff to say we had a table booked. Tried to order steak for one nope only for two. The shared starter arrived…….clearly for one. My partners main came out mine did not…… we were told sorry been a mistake. Ten minutes later my food had still not arrived so we decided to get the bill. They apologised and gave us my partners meal for free. I’m going to have Nachos for tea…….’Happy Valentines’!

Oh my goodness not what we expected . Was busy but waited over an hour for a sandwich board. I had beef and my husband had prawn Marie. He had no prawns on his bread was awful and he had to share my lunch. Was offered a free drink but to be honest we just needed a lunch on our way to our holiday home ! Can’t understand why a chef would send out a sandwich without prawns ? Who does this?

Popped in for take out coffee & a snack, it was super busy & the young lady was on her own but she was doing a grand job, confidently working her way thru the queue with the perfect amount of customer interaction. There was a really nice vibe to the place, chatty customers & doggy friendly, the ginger crunch was divine. Will definitely return.

Had an amazing Sunday lunch today….best Pork I have had in ages….really welcoming local pub with very reasonable quality food….just a joy …thank you…I will be back very soon….

Looked delicious. Ordered two pre-made sandwiches and coffee and paid. Although there were only two people seated at a table, all the tables were dirty. We picked up the sheepskins off the floor and sat at the table nearest the counter. We waited, several other people came in and were served. After 15 mins and several passes the waitress said ‘Oh, I’ll clear this up in a minute’ after another 5 minutes we went to the counter and asked for a refund. The waitress said, oh, the order didn’t come through, this has happened before! They were too busy chatting to notice.

Nice local pub, not tried the food. Plenty of atmosphere, often busy.

Went to this cafe to get some breakfast and a hot drink, we entered the cafe and my sister went to look for a seat as the cafe looked a bit cold, so we wanted somewhere out the back, as soon as she walked towards the back, the snotty woman serving was extremely rude nearly shouting ‘can I help you’ in front of other customers, as though my sister was doing something wrong! Not going in staff quarters just to the rear of the cafe! Then proudly announced that they were not serving food only drinks! This all could have been relayed to us in a more inviting way, we just felt we were putting her out having dared walk into A cafe. Staff training needed here.

What a breath of fresh air! Congratulations on an amazing pub. Great food, wonderful staff and an amazing ambiance due to someone who has an amazing eye to detail. The epitome of a perfect English country pub. Never normally do reviews so shows how much I enjoyed it. I hope it continues to go from strength to strength, a tough gig these days. Thank you, Lenny.

Just had a wonderful family dinner at The Crown. The food, ambience, service was spot on. Very reasonably priced for such quality food and drinks. We’ll be back!

Despite being busy, the staff were helpful, cheerful and took time to get things right. We had morning coffee and the coffee was good, the cheese scones were really delicious and we’ll definitely be back! There is a fantastic array of cakes to suit all.

We dined at 28 Market Place on Friday March 31st, a birthday meal. We were delighted by both the food and the service. The menu is reassuringly small, but sufficiently varied, and both my pickled mackerel starter and lamb rump main were very well cooked and presented, as were my wife’s linguine and cod. .Though certainly not cheap, it was fairly priced and good value, and considerably less expensive than the only plausible (though excellent) local rival in Bruton. Overall, it was a pleasurable experience, and we would be delighted to come again.

Stopped in at the Bell Inn for dinner and a beer, I had fish and chips. It was delicious and great value. A really friendly pub.

Met family for dinner here it was very busy but the food when it arrived was excellent although a bit slow on this occasion staff were attentive and doing their job under some pressure nice atmosphere and warm clean and very comfortable tables well spaced and Covid measures in place everywhere.
