What an amazing find!! I was visiting Ilminster with my granddaughter today & found 'Cafe Square' & it was just perfect for lunch! Childrens' Menu was great so she was happy & the very kind ladies adapted my request & made my day, gorgeous meal, perfect relaxed surroundings, clean & I can't speak highly enough of the 2 ladies, I will definitely be back next time I visit, thank you soooo much for making my day ladies!!

I popped into this lovely cosy café for a snack lunch. I had a brie, bacon and cranberry Panini and a latte coffee. Both were really excellent, the Panini was especially tasty - one of the best I’ve ever had. The staff were friendly, the place was immaculately clean and just what one would expect from a nice little café in a country town. I will definitely be back again.

Had an hour to kill whilst local garage was looking at my wife's car and spent a very pleasant couple of hours in the delightful town of Ilminster.Nearly never made it as the roads in Chard were closed(Memo to Somerset Highways-the odd diversion sign wouldn't go amiss)!!!!!!!_) Anyway food, service and value all first class but with a tiled floor it was somewhat noisy. However ,Linda looked after us well and was very pleasant

We were staying in a budget hotel on the edge of town who only did a boxed breakfast, which I regard as a crime, so we came here. I had the largest brekky available, cannot remember the name of it but I didn't need any lunch that day! Good atmosphere and staff, great value, highly recommended.

Regular lunch stop when working from home to get "out the office" and also for a weekend breakfast. Food is always great, not your greasy spoon, they don't use fat! The cook copes with special orders unlike some places. All the staff are friendly and funny and will help out customers with mobility issues etc. Popular with locals which is always a good sign! Highly recommended.

We ate here once and never again, sausages were undercooked, toast was soggy, the cafe smelt very greasy because of no door to the kitchen. Which left me smelling of fried food for the remainder of the day. The service was shocking on every part. Borderline rude at times from more than one person. Reasonably priced. But you get what you pay for. Plenty of better cafes in ilminster that serve good food with a smile. Would not recommend.

What a lovely little cafe. Very friendly, clean, tidy and super service. The breakfast was tasty and plenty of it. One of the best full breakfasts I've had. We will definitely be back when we visit Illminster again.

Lunch was perfect as usual , however our waitress wasn’t very friendly at all. Not once did she enquire if our meal was ok or if there was anything we needed ( cutlery would have been useful) I admit it was busy, but a smile would have been nice.

Used Tripadvisor to find somewhere to stop for a quick brunch to breakup our journey from Paignton back to near London. They were very busy, which is always a good sign, but took care to let us know that they would be with us a soon as possible, after that we were served quickly with excellent food, well cooked, and nicely presented. Well done TripAdvisor for your recommendation.

This is a fantastic local cafe and it has become somewhat our favourite cafe for a breakfast, lunch or even a cream tea! Good selection on the menu and always a warm welcome and great service. They also do take outs which the wife often uses as she works from home and on a busy day just phones her order in and it’s ready to collect.

With superb breakfasts (all day) and friendly service this place is always busy. A great place for a classic breakfast or just a coffee and cake.

This cafe is a superb place which we found whilst on holiday in the area. Visited twice, first for drinks then a couple of days later for breakfast. The staff are lovely and friendly and will accommodate diet or special requests where they can. The food is excellent with a good cafe menu. I could not find any fault with this place which seems popular with locals - I can’t say anymore.

my wife and I only popped in for a tea, but this cafe is worthy of comment on trip advisor. The staff were welcoming, attentive, service was fast an efficient. It is obviously popular with the locals as first names were used for a number of guest. Drinks were served quickly and came nice and hot. From my observations table cleaning was excellent and done quickly in readiness for the next guest, no waiting for tables to be cleaned during our visit. All in all a nice experience Well done to all

Stopped here on our way to center parcs. Plenty of one hour parking close by. Good choice of food at a good price. Opted for the small breakfast which was plenty big enough for me. Staff were friendly, which is always an added bonus

I was looking for a traditional English breakfast and I wasn't disappointed. Although the cafe was full my order arrived fairly quickly and was excellent. Good quality, good value, tasty and not at all greasy.

Just dropped in for a coffee en route to Cornwall. Busy, buzzy, obvious regulars, super smiley welcome from very busy owners. She mentioned that they had only been there for 8 months - so keep doing what you're doing. Coffee was great too!

Called in with a friend for a drink and we were tempted by the friendly welcome and enticing menu to opt for stopping for one of the “new to menu” pizzas and I am so glad we did! We both opted for the spicy pizza and I have to say… it was one of the best pizzas I have had. Freshly cooked and fully loaded - perfect! 😋

It's a little pricey for a gastro pub, but normally, it's well worth money. It is very friendly and a warm invite when you enter. It's always a great selection on the menu. I decided on the soup of the day, which was potato and leak served with croutons and bread with a herby butter. I was looking forward to this as I like the combination of thick potato and the hint of an onion leak coming through the texture. I was slightly disappointed as it was lacking in flavour, and I didn't expect a french baton with the soup. The main made up for this in the sense the lamb was cooked to perfection, but there was a curious yoghurt combination going on at the side that didn't really work, but that aside I did enjoy the main. I didn't have a desert mainly because I was full.
