The chip shop has been closed for a while due to staff going on holiday. Last night we very much enjoyed our chips, chicken and curry sauce.

My first visit, based upon a recommendation. Large chips- a decent portion: no greasiness at all, good quality potato used- perfect texture. The curry sauce was of a full flavour and good consistency. The cod was very fresh, the batter crisp and light- a 9/10 for the quality. Friendly service. A tad expensive.

We were staying in Charlton Musgrove for the weekend to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We went to The Smithy for a meal on Friday night. They looked after the 10 of us superbly. This is a very welcoming pub, lovely interior, fabulous roaring fire and a nice pub garden. The owners and staff were all so friendly and the food was lovely. Thank you so much for looking after us so well and for making it such a memorable night. We will be back one day!

Market PlaceCannot express how fantastic this family friendly pub is. We celebrated our sons birthday here and all staff went above and beyond to help us celebrate. Food was great, atmosphere was electric. Management were brilliant!
