Couldn't have chosen a better place to stop for brunch. Medium breakfast each filled us up. Couldn't resist taking away a cornish pasty, sausage roll and a large slice of lemon cake. Warm friendly staff, service with really warm smiles. Leave your diets at the door. Caters to all diet types.

Wow, that was awful!! Fried egg on toast with bacon and mushroom. Received, crap egg on warm bread and mushrooms that had been cooking under a light bulb for a few days. The bacon looked okay, but we left before we got that far. Won’t be giving them a second chance.

Had a quick lunch in The Cake Shelf near to Tesco in Yeovil again today. I really like this place. Good choice on the menu, clean and bright with pleasant staff. Sells sugar free drinks for diabetic tastes - choose from the fridge. Fab little cafe. Note - supports HM Forces and Emergency Services with discount!!

We had a fabulous lunch with lots of gluten free options including homemade cake. A friendly service within lovely surroundings. Highly recommended.

Located near to Tesco car park in Yeovil, this cafe is a great find to pop in to. Small yet well organised, this cafe is friendly and efficient with a good choice on the menu. Had a very nice freshly made tuna baguette that arrived warm with some salad - lovely. Prices decent and fair. The cakes looked amazing, I will try one another time. Will definitely pop in again when I am back in town and hubby could test out the brekkies.

It's cold and raining. All you want is a warming breakfast. This is the place. Proper English breakfast where they are prepared to cook your bacon as you like it - crispy. Very pleasant service as well. Tea, cooked breakfast and a piece of toast all for £7.00. What more do you want?

Me and my husband popped into the Cake Shelf for breakfast, I had a small and hubby had the big Rob full English breakfast. The service was very quick and it is a family run restaurant. The breakfast, cakes and pasties are excellent. The produce are all locally sourced. We highly recommend you try this place to eat.

Visited the Cake Shelf recently on a trip to Yeovil town centre and had a superb breakfast which had the best black pudding i've tasted outside of Ireland. The staff were very welcoming and helpful in this family run business. I can't wait to go back to have another Rob's special breakfast. The Cake Shelf is a little gem.

This business only changed hands earlier in the year, and I was not sure of the food they would be providing. It has taken several weeks for myself and a friend to visit, why did we wait so long!!!!! The greeting we received was excellent, friendly, cheerful and very helpful. The menu is very good for breakfasts and Brunch, they also do take out and there are cakes to die for including Gluten Free. We both chose the large breakfast but due to food intolerances, they accommodated this seamlessly changing items with no delays. We had a great lunch, catching up but having good cooked food as well, with very good prices. Thank you we will definitely be back again.

Since my last review I have visited and eaten here several times. What more can one say? Lovely welcome from front of house team today, Lorraine and Georgia. Nice to see Kelvin the owner briefly too. Four beers in great condition. Three from two Somerset breweries and one from Devon. New lunchtime and evening menus. Really enjoyed the spelt risotto and my friend’s Ruby Beef burger went down a storm too. Homemade strawberry parfait was much appreciated as was the accomplished home made vanilla ice cream accompaniment by a mini homemade meringue … a nice touch. Keep it up, you’re doing a lovely job... If you’ve not eaten here yet, you’ve missed a treat

Last Sunday (14/7/24), we called in and from the get go, the atmosphere made me feel like we’d chosen the right area. Such a great vibe here, Mike and Jo and lovely and very welcoming and friendly and it’s a proper pub. Great choice of draft beers, decent tunes playing and so excited to be calling this my local. Called on again on the following Thursday for the burger and beer night; Mike remembered us, welcomed us even more and really made us feel at welcome ❤️

A lovely pit stop for lunch. Welcoming and good menu choices; fresh tasty food that we all enjoyed. And reasonably priced. Would certainly stop again on our travels to/from Devon & Cornwall.

Went there on Sunday lunch with friends. Can not describe how fascinating I was by the staff. I am very impressed by the young people working at the restaurant. They were all very kind and polite, very smiley . Honestly I am just speechless. To the attention of the management - you have an amazing team. One big thank you and well done.
