Excellent small pub with lovely food. We understand the pub is currently under change of owner/management. We hope the chef stays as the food was excellent and the staff very helpful and attentive. Dog friendly too.
We popped in for a quick bite and the steak pasty did not disappoint and it was delicious. What we loved about it, it was hot 🔥 and full to the brim. It had a good portion of meat and it was well seasoned and tender. They had a lot of other savouries and sweets on offer and would recommend them all if the quality is the same as the pasties. I don't think you can do much about the atmosphere, 1 member of staff, empty shop and no noise, not even background music playing.
This is a lovely little pub in the sweet sleepy little village of Ashprington, found at the end of a walk from Totnes through the Sharpham Estate.
I didn't try the food during this visit but it looked wonderful.
We've been ordering here for 3 years, never disappoints us. Best takeaway and authentic food in Ivybridge and further!
We always recommend to everyone who asks us about food/takeaways in Ivybridge. Lovely people, amazing food, decent price - what more could you ask for?
Thank you Taste of Bengal for being our go-to takeaway when we want to treat ourselves
Good pub food, service friendly and attentive. Pub in good location, easy to park. The dining room was a bit cold and lack of atmosphere, but probably because we were eating early evening at 6:30pm. The bar area at that tome had a better area. Overall experience good.
What a gem of a restaurant! We decided to do date night at The Seahorse to try something a little different. We aren't overly familiar with the fish world, but we were so happy we gave this place a try! The staff were amazing, very attentive and friendly. Their knowledge of the menu really helped us choose what to have and they knew it inside out.
The restaurant is entered via Joe's bar, which is a side entrance. You are greeted and led behind the bar to the restaurant. Upon arrival there is complimentary focaccia bread with anchoide, and seppia fritti. We ordered the house rosé and Fines de Claire Oysters to start. Monkfish grilled over the fire with Camone tomatoes & mojo verde; Cod loin cooked ‘al forno’ with local shellfish & fregola with a side of Marinated Camone tomatoes with shallots & oregano for mains. Poached rhubarb Eton mess and Sgroppino with a twist (sambuca) - so good! - for desert.
We couldn't fault anything. Even the other diners were friendly, which added to the experience. A great meal, company and date night. I would recommend it for any special occasion!

We spent one night at the Harbour Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it, the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel had everything we needed and our room was very clean and comfortable, thank you for a lovely stay.
I've just had the most amazing plate of lamb chops in rosemary gravy with mint sauce. Three massive lamb chops, beautifully cooked. Absolutely cannot fault this at all, the pub was packed with live music and a 60th birthday party but all the staff were very welcoming and keen to please. These ladies are doing a magnificent job!, as is the chef!
What a little hidden gem and a must to visit. The chef is amazing and Paul is a fantastic host with his ghost tales and history of the place, built in 1180!
Surrounded by thatched cottages and smugglers cove.
Will definitely be returning!
Thank you all for a fabulous Sunday at the Journeys End.
