Really enjoyed our visit, welcoming, great service and food was excellent. Jack, our waiter, made us very welcome and was very knowledgeable about the menu. Really good variety and our meal was excellent.

What a wonderful pub! It ticked so many boxes from the warm, effortless welcome, the consideration over a dietary requirement, the superb care and interaction from the staff and the delicious food that was served. It made our trip South!!

Another great meal st the Rose & Crown….Well looked after by Jackie … only downside they’d run out of pies!!….Fingers crossed we’ll have better luck next time …..

We enjoyed some food here on Tuesday night on a recommendation from a friend of a friend. I had a steak which normally when I go out is never to my liking however the steak here was perfect well cooked and also well seasoned my compliments to the chef overall the Rose and Crown is a great pub serving great food thankyou again and look forward to my next visit.

Many times we have visited The Rose and Crown but we found this time there wasn't the friendly atmosphere. My husbands DoomBar had to be taken back as it was very cloudy no apology had to ask for something different. Perhaps we went when everyone had a bad day.

My time hear was really nice. I moved to Devon not much more than a year ago and was recommended by a friend and was wowed. To start our server Adam was very nice and friendly even after our long order😂. The food was excellent and the deserts also. Would recommend to all.

I've cooked and eaten out a lot of lamb and a lot roasts... But I can honestly say, this was the BEST roast lamb I have ever had! So very tender and flavoursome. I would 100% recommend! The staff were all very polite and professional too. And last but not least, they serve food till 9pm on a Sunday! Winner. We have definitely found our new favourite restaurant for roasts.

Quality English Breakfast and coffee at a fair price. My brother and I make a point of breakfasting out together most Sundays to catch up on the news, so we'd like to think we know a quality breakfast when we eat it. The Full English Breakfast at the Rose & Crown is the best quality we've come across. Warm service from Sarah Jane in comfortable surroundings. Large free car park and open from 07:30 on a Sunday. Ideal for us. We'll be sure to return.

Great food and excellent service. Booked here as was less boujie than the Noss Mayo offerings. Really pleased we did! Excellent seafood platter and the ribs and steak were reportedly lovely too. The waitress was great being very attentive but not over bearing. Would recommend and will definitely be back.

We went for a Sunday lunch when the mum in law was visiting. My beef brisket was dry and tough although the vegetables were very nice. Unfortunately, the plates were brought out with the meat and Yorkshire puddings, but the veg didn't come out for another 5 minutes, so the meat was starting to get a bit cool. We have eaten here in the evening several times, including on my 50th birthday and always enjoyed it, so this occasion was disappointing.

We've always had good food and a nice time at this pub. We ate here last on 20/7/24 when there was an unfortunate combination of staff shortages and all big table bookings arriving at the same time, meaning food took over 2 hours to arrive. However, the staff were all lovely and did their best to still make our evening enjoyable. The manager came round afterwards to apologise and explain what had happened. They gave us the food free of charge due to the wait and the food, as always, was delicious, so I cannot fault the food and customer service here. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

We visited as a family today late afternoon Rosie fest was still going and the whole pub was very busy. We enjoyed a drink outside in a cool shaded area then went inside the restaurant for meal. The food arrived quite quickly and was great. In particular our waiter was Adam and he was very attentive. Good service from a young man who dealt well with our group which included a toddler and a baby.

Disappointing Sunday Lunch Today. Chewy & Tough Beef Brisket. Food bought out and veggies followed much later, whilst meat was getting cold. Not up to its usual standard and would not recommend this place for Sunday lunch!

Just back from spending three nights at the pub had dinner two of the three nights while there. Rooms are very comfortable. If you don't like road noise ask for a room towards the back. Food is great and staff are very friendly. The only reason I gave 4 stars for service is because we waited an hour for food to find it still was not ready so we cancelled it and left this was on a Saturday evening and there needed to be more staff the pub was very busy with a function on.

Went here with a group of 5, I had fish and chips which was excellent abd a large portion, the other had different meals and all said the food was really good and value for money, we were served MALIA who couldn't do enough for us and made our trip very enjoyable.

Greeted by Lisa to organise an event. She was utterly lovely and very accommodating to our needs. We then stayed and had lunch. Lovely food and 5 star service by Jack. Thank you to you all and see you again in a couple of weeks.

We went with friends to celebrate my wife's birthday and had excellent food and attentive service at all times with a birthday candle in one of the deserts and brought to the table singing happy birthday which was a nice touch. Couldn't fault it

Had the Sunday roast lamb, it was excellent all the trimmings as well, washed down with a mena due stout my partner Kim says best lamb dinner she's had for years, service was excellent as well, so well done the team.

Friendly bar staff with a good range of drinks. The exciting, hard to choose from, food menu lived up to expectations, our meals were delicious which is not always the case in many restaurants/pubs!! The Thermidor chips with the surf and turf were to die for…yuuuum. I wouldn’t usually choose rump steak as it can be tough but all of ours were really good. Great service too - thank you

Enjoyed a meal here for my girlfriend's 30th whilst we were holidaying in the area. Probably the best service I've had in a long time; attentive, knowledgeable and happy (from Maisie I think). Both had tasty vegetarian meals. Plenty of choice on the menu. Excellent value for money, 2 rounds of drinks and 2 main meals for £60. Would definitely visit again when in the area

First time eating here…went for my daughter’s birthday and it was fantastic. The waiting staff were extremely attentive and the food was stunning…I had the steak which was cooked and rested to perfection, my son had the margherita pizza which he demolished and my daughter was very happy with the fish goujons, no greasy batter 👌🏻 The chocolate brownie came with candles and my daughter was ear to ear smiles, lovely touch! I would highly recommend this place and 100% be returning 🤩

After a long day of walking this was exactly what we were looking for; a tasty meal. The food was unexpected and delicious. The courtyard had a lovely feel with private areas, a very welcoming pub. The general manager was so attentive ( something I’m not familiar with) I would absolutely come back every time without a doubt. What a good find whilst visiting the area.

Are you mad? This place is perfect. Stayed here for a night and the bath in room 2 is immaculate. The food is also superb. I ordered the 16oz steak sharer which was cooked to perfection, the dog 🐶 loved it too! I couldn’t eat it all. Speaking of dogs it’s really a dog friendly pub with a beautiful water dispenser in the garden. Who ever made that utter genius. Will definitely return id live here if I could afford to. If you’re in the south hams it’s a must. Close to the river yelm and mothercombe perfect dog walking spots.

Main courses delicious could not fault. However £9 for a small pastry case with a liquid filling and a few slivers of strawberry was very poor. Service was a 10 out of 10, however the tables were far too close together, and some crying shouting and generally noisy children on several tables made it rather unenjoyable - so not a place we would return to

We had a fabulous meal on our wedding anniversary on 7th June. Maisie served us and was really lovely and very helpful. Our dog was given biscuits and a bowl of water too. Food was lovely and we had a wonderful evening. Thank you Maisie and Rose & Crown

Went to the Rose and Crown with some old friends for a birthday meal on Mon 10th June. We were all very impressed. The service, atmosphere and general ambience were all excellent and the food was delicious. We ate mostly seafood and it was all beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. The Ruby Orange Sorbet afterwards was the Jewell in the crown. Well done everyone involved. We will return.

My husband and I went in for dinner on bank holiday Monday and were served by Jacqui. She was really knowledgeable about both the food and drink, and really helpful giving us some suggestions about what to try on the menu. She checked in with us just the right amount and was really friendly and welcoming! The food was super tasty and the menu was nicely varied - I'm sure there is something for everyone. The wine list wasn't huge but clearly carefully chosen, and there was a wide variety of spirits. We liked everything so much that we went back this evening to try some more things on the menu. We were served by Malia, who was very friendly and welcoming too, and she looked after us really well. Will definitely be coming back when we're in the area again.

Great service it's what I'd call old school customer service, staff taking genuine interest in customers making conversations other than just there taking food and drink orders. Particularly Jack was great addiction to our visit have been several times before and like usual when things go well I havent though to speak about it but this place is consistently good.

Lovely country pub with two garden areas. Very spacious inside and dogs are welcome. Sunday dinner was absolutely delicious. The beef was so tender. The vegetables were cooked just as I like them, NOT soggy and overcooked but still firm but not hard. Well done chef! All staff are friendly and very helpful. Will definitely recommend the Rose and Crown for a meal or even just drinks.

Booked the function room for a wake. Friendly staff and helpful. Good location. Unfortunately, the food is not up to scratch. Our pasta salad was inedible as the pasta was not cooked and hard, beyond al dente and the sausage rolls needing cooking more as the pastry was anaemic. We also had 2 meals there over the few days at the pub and both were extremely disappointing. Very basic food and unimaginatively served.

We come regularly for pub quiz! We love the service. It’s very dog friendly unlike the other pub in the village. Beautiful rustic pub with AMAZING food. We are locals to Yealmpton and always choose the Rosie for our drinks/food/socialising/quiz. Fab team who can’t do enough for us all. Thankyou for always being great, welcoming and loving our dog!

Visited today wirh a friend for Sunday lunch and would definitely recommend - service was quick and efficient yet friendly and food was all well cooked and well presented - we chose a roast beef and the vegetarian Wellington which were both very tasty and good value for money too - all members of staff that served us were very polite and helpful.

Out for a friend’s birthday meal last night, they are new to the area and had the Rose and Crown recommended. Very good food and the service from Jack and Alice was friendly and welcoming, a very good dining experience and a place to go again.

Must visit spot for your next meal out! For starters we had the focaccia and the scallops and both were absolutely divine! Both had steak for mains and it was cooked to perfection and salad garnish was so fresh and tasty. All the staff were so lovely and our server Jack was particularly helpful.

I met my daughter for lunch and we shared the fish platter which was delicious. My daughter is gluten free and as a result gluten items were served separately to avoid any contamination. It was a lovely lunch in an excellent welcome pub with impeccable...

Although I haven’t been in around 6 years, the rose and crown has still never failed me. Great service all round, hosted by Jack. Food was exquisite nothing to complain about at all. Will be returning again soon!

Very enjoyable lunch. I had the steak and was cooked perfectly. We were taken care of as soon as we arrived and were looked after very professionally. Would highly recommend a visit if you have not tried them yet.
