Just the best pastries, pasties (beautifully flaky and crunchy pastry), gigantic chelsea buns and great sandwiches.

We both had sourdough toasties that were excellent Good customer service and very quick Next time, I will definitely try the crab sandwich

Produce has always been good but OMG some of the young staff need to learn how to engage with customers. They need some training with regards to customer service. On several occasions we have experienced pure rudeness. Not a hello, thank you, good afternoon. Today pm of August 15 the girl who served me was completely blank, infact she said absolutely nothing to me but just bagged what I had requested and shoved a card reader in front of me. It felt it was beneath her to be serving lesser morsals in a shop. To be civil costs nothing as does the normal human engagement of saying thank you or good afternoon.

Had the beef pasty which was good but really needed more meat. Lovely selection of other pastries

The food is good , but they don't take cash. Popped in on my first day here with the idea of breakfast for the family every morning and they only take card payments. Payed by card this time, but I won't return again. I believe we should be protecting the ability to pay with cash and not becoming a cashless society.

The doughnuts were terrible they were still raw inside. They needed to be cooked for at least another 5 mins and we're expensive wouldn't recommend so disappointed!!!!

Best roast chicken roll and doughnut I can remember. Everything is super tasty and fresh. It's just a shame that we don't bring a bread knife with us on holiday, the fresh loafs look amazing. We ha e tried a fair few things and we have never been dissappointed. However the roast chicken roll and doughnuts will always be out favourites.

Bought seeded sourdough from here. Thought it tasted okay at first, but then suddenly some bites tasted mouldy - after looking inside the bread, found specks of mould inside. This was eating it 4 hours after buying it. Hope we don’t get sick.

Amazing bakery! Such a wide selection of cakes, pastries and breads available! We always visit here when in the area - it is simply the best. The gigantic Chelsea Buns are to die for!

This is the only place you can currently get a gluten and dairy free pasty in Salcombe. We had heard another place did, but when we arrived here, were directed to the Salcombe Yawl. We only bought pasties, which were delicious. A definite find for those who are dairy and gluten free, but not vegan! :-)

Wir hatten Pflaumenkuchen und Salt Brownie. Beides hat gut geschmeckt, der Brownie war innen aber fast ein bisschen zu weich/flüssig. Das Personal war nett. Wir würden jederzeit wieder hier einkaufen.

Absolutely delicious crab sandwiches, freshly made to order. The sausage rolls and quiches are also amazing. Perfect place to stock up for our picnic on the beach!

Best lunch I had during my 8 day stay in Devon. I had the fresh crab Sandwich and my wife had the falafel wrap which she said was delicious and fresh.

Large well filled beef pasty and not too much pepper like some. Lovely large square of chocolate brownie for afters yum yum. Not 5 star as pastry on pasty quite well done but still delicious.

I have tried the cheese & Onion, plus the normal pasty and they are so good. Need to try their other goodies. Well impressed so far 😃

Pasty, quiche and a baguette bought in the Salcombe outlet on a day trip to the South Hams. Don’t usually write reviews but Wow. Outstanding pastry and the baguette is as close to that sold in France as I have found in 20 years of being back in the UK. Really good. Thank you.

Instantly regretted choosing a croissant, pain au chocolate and a raisin pastry due to them being huge but then I tried them! Really soft and moreish and I yutted the lot! Pasty was good on a later visit. Just need to poke the guy into smiling a bit but isn't that the issue with all young people today! 😕 Will use next time I down...

Friendly staff with a great respect for customer service. Ploughmans Sourdough toasties and coffee were exceptionally tasty, can't recommend enough, you won't be disappointed.

Grabbed our lunch here on our first day and thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a great range of sandwiches and baguettes. Friendly service and amazing food!

Warm welcome from the Salcombe Yawl and Staff. Delicious food. Mackerel and Beetroot Baguette was very tasty indeed! Highly recommended!

Highly rate the toasted sandwiches from here. Tuna melt and the goats cheese were delicious and well worth paying a bit more for. Friendly take away service.

We had awful pasties from here today. The beef pastie is just mince and packed with Swede, potato or parsnip. I could not get rid of the taste for hours. I went back to complain and wasn’t even offered my money back. Go to the pastie shop around the corner or, for a proper steak pastie, jump on the ferry and head to Venus Cafe on the other side of the estuary.

An intuition! Really tasty pasties which have to be part of any trip to Salcombe. Wouldn't be a visit without one - or two!

Fantastic pasties sold here - definitely recommend the traditional steak pasty. They also sell other sweet and savoury things, everything looked very good.

Best takeaway cup of tea and pasty - the tea actually tasted good doesn't often happen with a takeaway - the pasty was delicious good filling and not too much thick pastry recommended

Possibly the best vegetarian pasties I have ever had , and I’ve been eating veggie pasties for decades, so these pasties are amazing !

I would make a 100 mile trip to come back here. Love the food and the fact it turns into a creperie in the evening is just the icing on the cake.

This bakery has no vegan or dairy free options, which is strange for 2021 as most places offer this now? Lovely bakery, and my family love it but doesn’t cater for dairy free or vegans- a real shame!

I was desperate for a cup of coffee before I hit the road so stopped at this small place. The owner said he would be 2 minutes as he had a previous order to finish. Its a very small shop but he looked clearly overwhelmed as said order was actually for several sandwiches and the 2 minutes turned into 15. During all this time he didn't apologise or say how long he would be. I lost patience and my car parking time was over so I said I was leaving. He didn't even glance in my direction just said ok. He clearly didn't care about my order because it was just for a coffee. I'm all for supporting small businesses but not when they treat customers unfairly. Thank goodness I found a Costa just outside Salcombe.

I’ve been on the hunt for the best flat white in Salcombe and this place definitely tops the bill. If you like your coffee, get one from here while in town.

Simply the best crab sandwich arround. Have sampled many crab sandwiches in the past but the sandwich from the Yawl is the best I have tasted.

We visited recently and were impressed by the arrangements in place to support social distancing. Take away coffees were very good and the freshly cooked giant sausage roll was excellent. In a less crowded area so a good place to stop for a coffee and snack or a lite-bite. Friendly efficient service.

Great to have the choice of any of the sandwich fillings made fresh to order on gluten free bread. There was also the choice of three gluten free cakes (lemon polenta cake, flapjack and a salted caramel brownie) which made for a lovely picnic. Staff checked that I was coeliac so they could take extra precautions and kept the gluten free cakes on the top shelf away from the non gluten free cakes.

Really enjoyed my crab baguette, a real treat while away on holiday. The crab meat was delicious and the baguettes are baked (finished off) in front of you so nice and fresh. Overall brilliant quality and good friendly service. Ate it sitting by the harbour with a takeaway pint!

Great crab sandwich. Arrived around 10.45, no queue, and speedy and friendly service. Happy to recommend.

Beautiful baked goods. Superb doughnuts, perfect almond croissants, and even the humble flapjack was excellent. The generously sized Chelsea Bun is also delicious.

I only have e experience of the treacle tarts and hazelnut meringues, both of which are just amazing and wish we'd bought more of them! Enjoy people, you won't be disappointed!

The crab sandwiches at the Yawl are world class and the best in Salcombe by a distance. They do a fantastic range of sandwiches - not just crab - snacks, drinks and the service is always first class. Staff always very efficient and friendly. Would absolutely recommend a visit! Great place.

The boss is cheery but he needs to delegate. Someone needs to take orders and the other 2 split coffee and making sarnies. He also needs to write the order down as ours was wrong. 20 mins is too long for the wrong order.we could not be bothered to take it back.

Almost certainly the best coffee in Salcombe. Excellent selection of sandwiches...the crab is a real treat. Friendly and welcoming owner who goes ' the extra mile'. Worth the visit and the almost certain queue.

Visited here during half term. On arrival the owner gave us a very friendly & warm welcome. He made us a fresh crab sandwich to take away and it was absolutely delicious. He was also very helpful in telling us some valuable information on the local area. He encouraged us to visit Blackpool Sands which we did and had a great time there.

We stopped of to grab a quick bite to eat. Very friendly owner who was able to cater for my partner who has coeliacs disease by supplying gluten free bread for her crab sandwich. He was very knowledgeable and used gloves etc to prevent any cross contamination.I had a ham and cheese toast which was fantastic!Great pace to stop and eat and seating nearby that provides great views.

The take away crab sandwiches are superb and the four of us thoroughly enjoyed them whilst looking at the sea views. If you like crab, you won't regret a visit here.

Very good pasties and friendly service

Went here last October, the Deli has moved across the road. The gluten free Brie, grape and cranberry sandwich is very good, and worth the wait, if there is one.

Although quite sparce inside, the baked goods from their shops both here and in Kingsbridge are so tasty, you’ll be back for more (we were numerous times !). The pastries melt in your mouth and reminded me of a French patisserie. The pasties are packed full of peppered beef, potatoes, carrots and onions and the pastry is so flaky and moreish. The salted caramel brownies are so good I’m trying to find a recipe as good as theirs to recreate them at home and finally their lunch pots are also incredibly reasonable for what you get.

I have been on a gluten free diet for 57 years and being able to buy a bespoke sandwich has been a rare experience for me. The owner took meticulous care to prepare a toasted ham, cheese, and onion marmalade sandwich for me using a sough dough bread from the 'Incredible' bakery. It was worth waiting five or ten minutes. The end result was mouth-watering and delicious.

Ordered two sandwiches. They seemed quite nice. When I paid with cash, the person serving didn't take off his food preparation gloves to take the money, and then went to the next customer, which put me off as I seem susceptible to food bugs. I went away and then returned and asked him about it, and he was really helpful and told us we were the first customers of the day, so I decided to eat them. I was fine afterwards, but it took my enjoyment off them a bit.

Excellent baked goods for picnics and snacks. The doughnuts, Devon apple cake, and ginger cake all come highly recommended. I don’t think you can go wrong. It may seem a little pricey but the quality is outstanding, with beautiful ingredients used throughout. Treat yourself.

Fantastic Sandwich bar, totally au fait with the restrictions of someone with coeliac disease, completely cleaned the prep area and used entirely different prep board, knives, gloves and even started a fresh cucumber to avoid cross-contamination. Specialist GF bread from The Incredible Bread Company in a separate non-contaminated package. So much produce packed into the sandwich that it was a meal on its own.

Delighted to have found this place - only wish had found it before sampling the coffee at all the other deli, hotel and pub offerings! Great flat white and lovely owners.

10 choices of sandwich/baguette/wrap. Really accommodating with food allergies. I had plough baguette without cheese, stunning sun dried tomatoes, packed with filling, tasty fresh bread. My fiancé had the same with cheese. If we visit salvombe again I’m sure we would return. Local shop workers popping in for lunch. Nice chap who owns it taken over this year he’s friendly and helpful.

We popped in to this place desperately hungry and had two toasties a pasty. The service was superb and the toasties were some of the nicest I’ve ever had. The pasty was also absolutely delicious and will definitely be returning later in the summer, what a glorious little gem in the heart of salcombe! Thank you!

Fabulous little Deli tucked away but worth a visit.

We enjoyed the salad and ciabatta selection so much we visited twice! Well stocked for such small premises. Owner very sociable and freshly prepared food.

Popped in here twice during a weekend break in Salcombe. The owner is very friendly and makes a cracking coffee (best in Salcombe I'd say) - his sandwiches are equally as good - I can thoroughly recommend the 'New Deli'! We will be back!

Just had a week in Salcombe and bought coffee in the Salcombe Yawl every morning, service was good, coffee was excellent and the chap running the place always had a smile on his face.

Proper bakery with properly made goodies. We were lucky enough to be a 10 minute walk from here and went every morning. Sausage rolls were particularly good! I just wish I had a bakery like this near home!

Sandwiches son muy bonitas y recién preparados, sin embargo tuvimos dos y eran muy desordenada y difícil comer cuando caminando salcombe. De lo contrario son perfectas, sin duda merece la pena una visita si tienes hambre en salcombe y no te importa coger un poco travieso! :)

Queríamos un par de sándwiches antes de un largo viaje en coche. Pedimos un salmón ahumado, un sándwich de cangrejo baguette y. Hecha como vimos con montones de abundante y todos los extras.

No puedo creer que no ha sido una revisión desde 2014. Salcombe me visita un par de veces al año y siempre por este precioso Deli. Cuando fui recientemente tenían fresca de cangrejo l lo tuve en una baguette, mi amigo tenía un sandwich. Fueron realmente delicioso, agradable, a veces Rollo suave también pueden ser un poco bastante pesado. Era un día precioso nos sentamos en la pared mirando el estuario y los comió, magia. También tienen bebidas y pasteles, mucho para elegir para un almuerzo. Un pueblo precioso para pasear, y viaje en barco al otro lado del río.

Esta tienda es pequeñita, pero muy bien equipada y se puede elegir entre una gran selección de rellenos. Mientras que no era barato, estaban frescos y deliciosos. Este fue mucho mejor que la basura y empaquetados hechas mientras usted espera.
