The best restaurants in Bath and North East Somerset South West

My partner and I are frequent customers of this place — we’ve probably ordered more than 20 times! That’s how much we love it. Today’s uber eats order was just as great as always: the food was hot, delicious, and nicely portioned. The staff were kind enough to accommodate our request for extra hummus (highly recommend it!). We really enjoyed our meals and appreciate their hospitality. Definitely 5 starts!

A seat in the conservatory allows you to people watch with a nice view across to the park. The wine list is varied and reasonably priced Sadly the food is not great. Starters were ok but the main courses came out good and chewy. Sausage and mash totally covered in thick cold onion gravy. The steak chewy and cold A real disappointment for what could be a really nice place to dine.

5 Estrellas debido al 'Camarero'? que nos atendió fuera (en la 1 calle o 2a visita) , siendo un 'políglota' (9 idiomas fluidos) , Y dando Excelente Servicio. Haber visitado por lo menos DOS VECES (Tanto mi cumpleaños y mi cumpleaños de hermanas menores (sentado en interiores - noviembre) , y cumpleaños de mamás (sentado al aire libre - abril). No puedo recordar el año real - Mamá falleció en diciembre de 2022 , por lo que fue ANTES de esa fecha en ambas ocasiones. MEJOR COMIDA DE CALIDAD QUE HE TENIDO, también el mejor servicio de la historia. "Muy caro", pero la comida es tan buena que iría allí mucho más si pudiera permitírmelo. Tan impresionado estaba por el camarero 'políglota', que me inspiró a aprender 'más idiomas', ahora 'sé' un poco de cada uno, de entre 50 - 74 idiomas, de todo el mundo de 6 continentes, y de lugares que nunca visitaré debido a la falta de tiempo, dinero y nivel de aptitud física de salud (ahora más de 60 años y parcialmente discapacitado en este punto en 2025).

We booked the private bar space for an event and had an amazing time! Blakely managed the booking for us & Tony manned the bar on the night - both were professional, friendly, and made sure we had a fantastic experience. The drinks & decor really stood out - I can't recommend the bar enough!

Service and food were OK but a bit overpriced for what it was - £20 for ham, egg & chips, £23 for Cod & chips & £9.50 for desserts are definately on the pricy side - most other rural pubs seem to be £4-£5 cheaper than this. I understand costs have gone up & it's under new management but I'd be hesitant to return unless it was for a special meal - this pub is quite popular for walkers but is now a bit too pricy just to pop in for a post-walk lunch. The Sunday luinches seem to get good reviews so perhaps these are better value. We were also sat under a speaker which was borderline too loud (I never understand why places put speakers directly above tables when they could put them in spaces between tables).

The Bailbrook House Hotel gives you that extra special feel, staff are helpful. Special thanks for a lovely welcome by Deborah to the Hotel who showed us to our room and Dobrinka in the conservatory restaurant, who was very friendly and attentive. Our room was lovely, a little bit dark, but nicely laid out. Plenty of other places to sit, like the beautiful lounges looking out towards Bath. The food was amazing and delicious with a fabulous taste selection for all. Plenty of parking for guests and not that far from Bath to drive back in. Thank you for making our stay a very pleasant one.

Great choice of drinks, brilliant venue.

Ordered a takeaway on Sunday night, and I'm now in hospital with food poisoning and on a IV drip. 100% it's from here, as me and my partner had the same food and lunch, and she is completely fine. The only difference was my curry from here. I've had severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, sickness and shivers. They probably just reheated a meal from 2/3 days previously as the food arrived in 15 minutes from ordering. Unless you want to end up like me, I highly recommend you don't eat from there

Reservamos esto con muy poca antelación para el almuerzo del domingo y no nos decepcionó. Gran pub respaldado por la comunidad en un pueblo muy pintoresco no lejos de Bath. Gran cerveza y sidra, asados que estaban en otro nivel, personal muy amable y un servicio eficiente. Muchas gracias a todos, especialmente a Louis.

The food was perfect. So much so that we went back to get a second burger. Tyler was very friendly and swift at serving us. He was very nice and educated us on bath while serving us.

Excellent food, beer and service for a family meal on a Good Friday evening. We booked a table with an hour's notice and we're given a fab spot. Bar staff were great, food was tremendous and we even enjoyed a game of Scrabble. Proper pub, friendly vibe, a real find on our visit to Bath and I'd recommend to anyone after proper food and proper beer in a welcoming environment...bravo :)
