I managed to get a space for myself and my wife for Valentines. Amazing restaurant! You must try the smoked butter, the Celeriac, Tagine, and the Pork belly. All are unbelievable. We had these washed down with some Rioja. A truly unforgettable evening. To top it off, my wife loved it so much, I even got a blow job. 👍

Some really brilliant flavours in this small tapas and wine bar, like the arancini bursting with umami in a blue cheese sauce with celeriac and truffle, and the dahl with coconut yogurt was better than the dahl we get in brick lane in London. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. We had five dishes and a dessert between two of us.

Always have such a great time here. Really attentive staff, the menu is always delicious and a broad range of dishes to share. The portions are pretty substantial For sharing plates. Everything tastes really fresh, and flavoursome. It’s a go to for when we fancy an afternoon in bath. I don’t drink but my husband does, and there is a great selection to accompany any of the dishes and the staff are really knowledgeable. The Dahl in particular tastes how my grandmother and mother make theirs. And the seafood and meat dishes are always high quality.

This was my first time visiting Bath, and I found this restaurant while researching the town, no disappointment at all! The food was amazing, and the service was spot on. I’d recommend the courgette, it might look like a regular zucchini in the photo, but trust me, it’s incredible! Another favorite of mine was the crispy pork belly. The black beans were a little salty for me, but they pair perfectly with the pork, which was cooked to perfection. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Bath!

We had 6 which was ample. Could have done 5. The dishes come out when they are ready, not all together, which makes for a lovely dining experience. I've eaten in Corkage regularly over the years and twice in the last month. As I write, Tripadvisor has it at 74/345 best restaurants in Bath. It is true that Bath has loads of great restaurants but Corkage at 74 is a travesty. The food - small plates - are all delicious and head chef Rob really makes sure they are a cut above the rest. Best small plates in Bath? Almost certainly. The wine list is also one of the best. Lots of unusual but delicious options including a lovely selection of orange wines. And the service? Pretty much faultless and the staff really know their stuff. Taking value for money and ambience into account, I'm going to stick my head out and say I think Corkage is in the top 5 overall. Being just off Queen Square, it's a little bit away from the centre but definitely worth the extra 5 minute walk.

A lovely, cosy restaurant with great food and drink options. We sat outside in the garden, which was so nice on a summer’s evening! It was pretty busy so would definitely recommend booking in advance. Each of the small plates we had was delicious, and there was some really interesting flavours and options that were all done really well. A particular favourite was the courgette dish! The only thing is that each dish is pretty expensive for a small portion - you could get a full meal at other places for the price of one of the dishes, and they recommended 2-3 dishes per person.

So disappointing. Very very small portions. It really seemed like a joke that we started laughing at how the dishes looked. The main courses are small even as starters. The trout dish I ordered was a four bite piece. and cost 16.5 pounds. It's a real shame to call it a main dish. 4 pieces of peas floated in the sauce. The bread starter was a 4 slices of grocery store bread heated in a toaster. I left hungry. I have never been to a restaurant that looked down on me like that. be away. They don't deserve to have customers.

Once you order the food it does come pretty quick and is hot and fresh and you are forewarned that it will come as it’s prepared so don’t expect everything at once. Wine recommendations were good and I liked the fact that they let you taste before you commit. You know in advance that the food is sharing plates so know that the portions are not big but I did think some of the items were overpriced for what they were ie one rock oyster at five pound seems steep! Discovered Corkage last week by chance and had a lovely glass of wine before dinner else where. We were quite impressed so we decided to book for this week. We asked for a specific table as I hate being in the middle of a room, but rather prefer having my back to the wall. Anyway, we arrived this evening and there was no record of the booking for the table we requested. We were told it was already booked. After 'much' discussion they gave us the table. The sevice was obviously as one would have expected given the booking issues. The wine was very good, but the food mediocre. Overall quite bland, especially given the cost. Wouldn't recommend the food, but for wine was fine. I won't be going back again as overall I felt it wasn't worth the money.

Service great, food is overpriced for the quantity and is also nothing special. I loved my wine and the atmosphere of the place, our waitress was also lovely and attentive. The main issue was the quantity of the food, the presentation of the cheese board was not restaurant standard and did not match the price (£15). The pasta we ordered wasn’t tasty enough considering such a small amount came (£15). The steak (£22) was very nice and a more reasonable amount came and the cheesecake was also tasty. If you go enjoy the wine but don’t expect much from the food.

Great atmosphere - it was buzzing when went, with an extensive wine list and interesting menu. I was disappointed though, because for me, the food in reality did not match up to the expectation, which the description on the menu had created. It was tasty enough certainly, but not as interesting as I thought it was going to be. My husband and I shared a very good bottle of wine. Service though very friendly was patchy, in that we had to attract attention, rather than the team spotting that they were needed so to speak. That could have been a product of Corkage being so busy that evening. Overall, we felt it was pricey for what we had, though I'd certainly be happy to go back for a drink.

Visiting Bath for the first time, we sensed that the restaurants were busy. We booked Corkage based on its offer of wines and small dishes. Welcome was impeccable, the heated rear terrace warm and comfortable, service super-helpful and friendly. We chose glasses of Negroamaro, which were delicious, together with Padron Peppers, Venison served with Savoy Cabbage, Hazelnuts and Parsnip Puree, and Beetroot. All were beautifully prepared and served. I subsequently ordered a glass of Malvasia, which was as lovely as the Negroamaro. Would definitely return.

I've always really wanted to try this place, so booked a table for a Friday evening. We were greeted by the barman instantly, and the waitress was lovely and approachable. Although what alarmed me slightly, was being told roughly that it's 2-3 dishes per person, and then also hearing that be repeated to numerous new tables that were sitting down. I understand you want to leave feeling full, however, it does sound like a bit of a selling push where they've been told to 'sell as many plates as you can'. We understand the 'tapas' style of eating, so we were aware of how the small plates idea worked. Now moving onto the plates. We ordered 6 dishes (padron peppers, dahl, cauliflower, fishcake, short ribs & potatoes). The dahl and cauliflower were very tasty - it's definitely made me think how to recreate these dishes at home. The padron peppers, were well, exactly as you expected, and the potatoes were tasty, but easily replicable at home without spending the money we did. The fishcake - please note not 'fishcakes' (plural) - was tasty but nothing off the beaten track, and with that price you'd expect more than 2 mouthfuls and with some sort of culinary creativity. Please note - the peppers, cauliflower, dahl & potatoes were big enough to share between two. The short ribs was the dish that whetted my appetite, yet came away feeling most disappointed. Yes, it was very tasty, and the focaccia was nice, however, for nearly £19 for one small plate, it was about 3 mouthfuls' worth. As it was 'date night' and we seldom go out for dinner anyway, I think this is how we justified spending the money on 3 bites of beef, but we won't be doing it again. The atmosphere, and the deco of the restaurant is lovely, and the wine list is very extensive. Just double check the size of the plates before you order as it may also turn out to be quite a 'small' mouthful.

Lovely dinner on the terrace at this charming restaurant. Service was great - friendly and attentive with excellent menu recommendations. The cod, crab and lamb tagine, along with the Shiraz we shared were delicious. Tapas style plates bursting with flavour. Will be back!

A very nice atmosphere, cosy wine and small dish concept, everything would have been perfect if the manager had not been so unkind and unconsiderate. I kindly asked if it would be okay to change tables as we wanted to seat in the main dining room and he had just sat a couple there who didn’t have any reservations, while we had one. He answered really rudely and without any apology that it was not possible because it was booked, in a very rude and snooty attitude. It’s okay he couldn’t move us, but there is a much nicer way to answer your clients, he made me feel very bad to the point we almost left. Then we ordered a bottle of wine but it was not mentioned on the wine list that the wine was actually a « natural » wine, which is not a small detail because the taste can be very special and not to everyone’s taste. We drank without complaining but at the end we wantwd to give a nice feedback. At the end we kindly told the staff that it would have been nice to specify on the menu when it is a natural wine because we would have liked to know before ordering, and when we ordered, the waitress didn’t tell us it was a natural wine, and again, a very snooty waiter told us off, telling us 70% of their wines were « natural » and that he didn’t care mentioning it. We were simply kindly advising him that it would be better for him and for clients to mention it on the menu and he was super rude and defensive in return. Really too bad there is such an unkind staff overall, because the food was good abd prices were correct.

I came for lunch with a group of 5 friends on a Friday. We were warmly greeted to our booked table in the dining area. Unfortunately it was quite a while before we had our order taken. However, the staff were very friendly. Once our food order was taken the food came pretty quickly. The portions were just right for a lunch set menu. However, it was let down by not being hot enough, which included the sauce with the steak and the pasta. None of us unfortunately liked the red wine that came with the set menu either as it was very sharp, but we did order an alternative that was delicious. I’d come back again to give this another shot because of recommendations from friends.

Possibly one of the worst meals we've ever had. We had such high expectations, given the reviews - intimate experience, with amazing menu . However, it was quite the opposite. Couldn't believe the quality of food, portion size - versus the price. Alongside, the service was appalling - sassy wait staff, no care or proper warmth to the service. We actually were waiting to leave the spot. The view also was disappointing, given the website visuals. Wouldn't go back, even for a free meal. Catfish in definition. Don’t waste your time!

Avoid - overpriced coffee, miserable staff. Latte with soya milk - £4.45 from a grumpy dude. Eek. No music on in a small unfurnished space, so zero atmosphere and tricky to have a private (unbroadcasted) chat. My friend said her latte was delicious. But when 2 coffees are almost £10, we've got problems! What an embarrassment. Can you imagine a European being faced with this bill, when most places across Spain and France a latte is €1.50-€2.50? I'll take a flask of homemade coffee in future...wake up and smell the coffee !

Vea mi reseña bajo el Desfile de Avon, que ha sido desde principios de este año, 2019. Nunca había visitado The Penny Lane, pero hace muchos años cuando se llamaba The Pride of Bath.
