A nice Italian restaurant. The food and service was great. We found the prices to be quite generous for what you got, hence the 4 stars instead of 5 but overall a nice restaurant with a cozy location.

Very disappointed today. Lunch today as party of four with no complaints regarding food, service etc I paid bill £192.83 but did not notice this included 12.5% service charge. Before we left I spoke to the manager and said I forgot to tip when paying and he accepted £20. I appreciate it was my own fault but as I am in my mid 80s I am disappointed the manager did not mention I had already paid a service charge. This is supposed to be a family run restaurant but as a local I will not be returning. Ken Lawson

Lovely Italian restaurant, homemade traditional dishes. Friendly staff. I had the ‘ravioli diablo’ from the specials. Only sorry it’s not on the main menu so I could have it again next time I come.

We arrived without a booking and the same were very friendly and accommodating. They recommended for us to sit at a table outside and we ordered lovely bread and olive oil and a glass of wine while we waited for a table to come free. We did have to wait approximately 45 minutes but it was a warm evening and we weren't in a rush. We were seated at a comfortable table, the waitress was really friendly and the food arrived quickly and cooked to perfection. It was reasonable priced and the waitress gave us an excellent recommendation of a cocktail bar nearby to try after our meal. We did and it was brilliant! I'd recommend a visit, for us it was worth the wait!

The restaurant is very nice and clean. The price is a bit more expensive than usual but it’s totally worth it because the food is delicious. We had the Frito Misto with Fries and the Spagetti Carbonara. As I said, everything was very tasty, but if I had to object about anything it would be the fact that I thought it was a bit too salty for my taste and the pachetta from the carbonara was sliced too big. Other than that the service quality was amazing. We had a nice little chat with Nicoleta who made sure everything is alright.

Fantastic food - delicious and homemade. They brought my husband the wrong starter but apologised and quickly brought the right one. There’s no where inside to wait inside so if it’s cold don’t there early!

Went there to enjoy some Italian food with my friends. I must say, the pizzas are very nice. But the one thing I'd recommend is the lobster risotto. Make sure to reserve as the place is always brimming with customers

food was phenomenal, no question. however the service leaves much to be desired. being sat my party immediately felt like an inconvenience. when drinks were ordered the waitstaff only allowed one person to order before leaving to get the single drink - no one else had opportunity to order. no specials were relayed to the table before our orders were taken. one member of our party asked to change a dish to a different one after the order was taken (granted this can be annoying) and they were told to “just give them a minute” with extreme attitude. during our meal we witnessed another table receive the wrong order, send it back, then be argued with by another member of staff. the member of staff later returned to their table with a menu explained that the customer was wrong, then returned again with a dish of the same to further prove their point. wholly disappointing. the food was great and the location beautiful & clean - but we will not be coming back.

I had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Antica last night! From start to finish, everything was perfect. The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and made me feel truly welcomed. I started with the bruschetta, which was fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to begin the meal. For my main course, I had the tagliatelle with Bolognese sauce, which was rich, comforting, and cooked to perfection. The side of olives was a great addition, adding a nice touch to the meal. To drink, I enjoyed a refreshing Bellini along with sparkling water, both of which complemented the meal beautifully. And to finish, the tiramisu was absolutely divine—light, creamy, and full of flavor. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and delicious, and the warm, inviting atmosphere made the experience even better. I can’t wait to return and highly recommend Antica to anyone looking for an exceptional meal!

We were a 'walk in' customer. We hadn't booked. We arrived early, as the restaurant had just opened. We received a friendly greeting and the staff were very pleasant and polite. Having ordered, we didn't have to wait long for our food. We had 2 main meals, 2 glasses of wine and a 'home made' Tiramisu dessert to share ( it was large!) The food was all very good. The dessert was delicious. I would go there again. Recommended.

seafood risotto is super delicious! Highly recommended! TAGLIATELLE AL TARTUFO The truffle taste is very strong, but the mushroom flavor and the truffle are not well combined, which is not bad CAPESANTE is delicious! The lobster sauce is delicious! The scallops taste very good! Very fresh FRITTO MISTO is an average fried seafood, neither delicious nor unpalatable. It tastes just average. We added a lobster tail, but it didn’t taste very fresh. Maybe it was fried too hot. tiramisu is delicious! No alcohol smell! Not boring at all! I don’t recommend the pistachio ice cream, it’s not very tasty and has a weird almond taste? The waiters are friendly and very welcoming!

Really nice Italian place - we’ve ordered seafood pasta which I can recommend - had a healthy amount of seafood and the pasta itself was great. We’ve also had Quattro stagioni pizza which was a complete meal, a perfect combination of meats and veg, but was a bit underdone by my standards. Depends on the personal taste I guess. Both servers very attentive and helpful- had a really nice meal!

I've visited this restaurant on several occasions. Great food, with specials on the board on the wall, service is good, relaxed atmosphere, spotlessly clean. My words don't do the restaurant justice. It's great, try it.

Visited on Monday for lunch with my sister. from the moment we walked through the door we were met with a friendly welcome. We ordered from the 2 course lunch menu and the food arrived beautifully presented, plentiful and extremely tasty, coupled with a lovely bottle of wine. FABULOUS way to end a long day at the very busy but brilliant Bath Christmas Market. Antica's personable staff really cared about the food and experience they offer. Arancini starter and Pesce in Padella main were both from the specials board and were exceptionally well prepared, filling, and full of flavour. All the meals we had were met with similar appreciation... special mention for the side of broccoli served in a wonderful, slightly spiced dipping jus. Nice work! With thanks and respect.

The occasion was a family 60th birthday with the birthday person choosing the venue. The evening certainly did not live up to the current 4.5 rating. The staff were attentive but certainly didn't seem happy in their work. An occasional smile wouldn't have gone a miss. The starters were tasty and not a bad price. The main courses did not meet the same standard and for what we received, were overpriced. The duck meals were cooked to different requirements. With mine (medium rare) almost coldwhen reaching the table...felt like it had been left on the side while the other portion was cooked further then the sauce thrown over the top of both. The asked for sauce didn't come with the steak. After being asked where it was, it took an additional 5 minutes to come out. Requested sautéed potatoes came out as boiled/new potatoes and certainly hadn't been sautéed. The strawberry cocktail was almost undrinkabke; tasting like someones hand had slipped while adding the lemon. Removing any remote taste of sweetness. For 5 of us the bill was almost £300. The food, service and price didn't give quality and value. I would not recommend and wouldn't want to return.

Order carbonara and calamari takeaway,house distance is just less than 5 mins walk, carbonara is very disappointing too bland and watery definitely a 1 star standard for 18 pound with the portion and taste, calamari is decent 3.5

Excellent food, atmosphere and service. We were served by Nicole who did a great job as we were seated as a group of 9. I cannot fault anything about the meal and everyone enjoyed what they ate. I would happily return again when visiting Bath.

I ate here because it was close to my hotel and it was open later on a Sunday evening. Hmmm. I am finishing up a European trip which has included Rome and Florence. I must say that Antica Bath Ristorante was the best Italian food I have ever had the pleasure to taste. Better than any food I had in Italy! I had the Risotto ai Funghi (Risotto with mushrooms and truffle oil) and it was spectacular. Best meal of my entire trip. I’m sad to be leaving because nothing back home comes close to this. Thank you for giving me a truly authentic Italian delight.

I’m not sure what some of the other negative reviewers were smoking before their experience in Antico but ours was assolutamente perfetto!!! Specials were delicious, mains were perfect size and to die for, Wine was brilliant, service was great, very timely and polite, not to mention conversational and they really made us feel welcome. All of the staff were so friendly, if I was ever back in Bath from Australia I would definitely go again or recommend it. Price is irrelevant when you’ve had such a memorable night. Great service, great wine and great food overrides any cost. Grazie per averci ospitato !! ❤️ 🇦🇺

Best Italian dinner I have had in years! The Pacheri Arragosta (large ravioli like pasta with scrumptious tomato sauce & lobster tail)

Thumbs down. Two dishes, both failures: Lasagna--pool of red sauce with tasteless cheese--missing the layers of beef, bechamel and pasta. just inedible. Almost as bad: "lobster, pasta special": over-grilled lobster tail that had to be pried out of shell ( "sorry ,we don't have lobster fork, just keep digging and it will come out"... stringy and rubbery), with flat tubes of overcooked pasta drowning in peppery red sauce with tiny, diced up zucchini. We quietly expressed our disappointment, leaving plates of picked over disaster. Waiter graciously took the lasagna off the bill and offered dessert, which we declined. We finished our tasty carafe of red wine and left. Our suggestion:get a new chef.

Awful Dining Experience – Don’t Waste Your Time I recently had a meal at this restaurant in Bath, and it was nothing short of a disaster. From the moment we ordered, things started going wrong. Several of the dishes we requested never even made it to the table, and after waiting far too long, we had no choice but to cancel them altogether. The staff seemed completely disinterested and unorganized. The worst part? When the bill arrived, they had included a service charge, even though the service was beyond unacceptable. Normally, this would be optional, but they didn’t even ask. It felt incredibly unfair given the terrible experience we had. If you're thinking about dining here, don’t. There are plenty of better options in Bath where you'll actually get what you pay for.

On our trip to Bath, we saw the decoration by chance on a weekday and decided to eat here, thinking it was an Italian restaurant. We wanted to order as three people, the waiter who took care of us ordered two main dishes wrong and only one dish was correct. All of the dishes came very late and two of them were completely wrong. One of the wrong dishes was corrected, and when the second one was wrong, we said we didn't mind and didn't ask for correction so one person was left hungry at the table.At the end of the night when we asked for the bill, we were all very surprised at the extra service charge that was reflected to us. Almost 70% of the dishes were wrong and to add to this mistake, the service charge for the order!!! Extremely unprofessional attitude. By the way, the only correct dish was unfortunately not tasty at all.

Don't believe the Google overview which says this place has jazz on Tuesdays and Thursdays which was the reason we chose to dine there last night. They don't and the waiter said they haven't for 3 years. Also don't follow Google Maps directions if they point you down Grove Street, it's on the main Argyle Street level. We weren't impressed by the food, lasagne had far too much cheese and meatballs were dry and solid. I appreciate this may be a matter of taste. Service was slow even when there were only about 6 tables still occupied towards the end.The tables were too close together. Disappointing all round. Oh, and watch out for the 11% service charge automatically added to the bill. If you have any mobility issues, be aware that there are 16 steps down to the toilets.

We noticed the pleasant atmosphere of this Italian restaurant from outside. There were a number of vegetarian/vegan options available to us. Since the atmosphere, service and food in our experience were excellent, we came back for dinner the next day. Definitely recommended :D.

When we eat out we expect to pay a premium in the price because someone has prepared, cooked and served food for us. What I don’t understand is why on top of a price that already includes service is a 10% compulsory service charged added? Being treated commercially like this spoilt the evening. Antica seem set up to take advantage of tourists who won’t be back. We are local and won’t be back either. Shame though, the food was good.

Absolutely fantastic evening. Food was incredible, they really go the extra mile.. food was served perfectly. Everything was delicious. I've been a few times now and it never disappoints. My personal favourite is the caprese salad as a starter and the meatballs for a main. Inside is beautiful and perfect for a girls evening or a cozy date night. The atmosphere is wonderful and truly makes the evening.

This is the best Italian restaurant in bath to go to, I highly recommend this restaurant the food is just wow, it's so tasty and nice that you can order soo many dishes, I ordered the buffalota, Plain Spegatti with butter and pepper, and spegatti with tomato sauce and basil. Bravo! An exceptional experience all round from the service to the exquisite authentic food.... I accidentally booked for four instead of five... so Antica were very accommodating and got us set up on the pavement seating. Which was even better as it was perfect people watching on a balmy evening. Despite a full house the service was attentive and efficient. Booking advised! We thought this was the best food we have tasted in Bath in a long time. Try the specials, they were exceptional... so fresh and delicious. Thank you, we will be back!

One of the best garlic breads ever!!

We ordered a margherita pizza and a vegetable pizza. The vegetable pizza is not to be missed, it is very delicious, and the spaghetti arabbiata is still delicious, but the prices are a bit expensive.

Lovely restaurant in the town centre. We walked in without reservation and were seated without an issue. The service was very efficient and professional. our server highlighted the days specials and options available. Our starter Calamari was excellent and not rubbery at all. The mushroom risotto was very tasty and cooked to the correct consistency. My Fillet steak was perfectly cooked as requested medium rare, melt in the mouth delicious. All in all a wonderful experience. I recommend a visit to Antica for a very enjoyable experience.

The food was really, really delicious~ The staff was very friendly, and even though I ordered a drink, they asked me if I wanted water, so I paid for a large bottle of water. I thought water service was free in many places in the UK. I probably only ate 1/7 of it~ Here is the service charge +10%~ This was a bit disappointing.

Great atmosphere and helpful waiting staff. We had the two course late lunch and can totally recommend the baked sea bass. Beautiful and tasty mixture of perfect herbs and flavours beautifully cooked. It was sitting on a mixture of herbs potatoes and tomatoes. You have to try this place. It was the best.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent dining experience I had. Unfortunately, both the food and the service were far below the standards I expected. Firstly, the food quality was TERRIBLE. The dishes were lacked flavor. Specifically, the Soup, Bruschetta and Meatball Spaghetti were particularly disappointing as it tasted stale and unappetizing. Secondly, the service was EXTREMELY POOR. The male staff was inattentive, rude, and unresponsive to our requests. It took an unreasonably long time to get our orders, and when we finally received our food, there were mistakes that were not promptly corrected. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and make the necessary improvements to ensure a better experience for future patrons. Thank you.

Me and my mother haven’t been to bath before we wanted a small bistro for dinner, and something Italian..we were surprised to find our exact image! We walked inside and the atmosphere was really warm and cosy, along with having the Italian look from the outside and inside. The colour is beautiful and so is the furniture, it’s a really delicate feeling, the service was fast and the staff were absolutely very politeprofessional and also very friendly. We were seated fast and had a lovely evening looking out the window and enjoying our beautiful dinner, the presentation of the food was outstanding and very tidy..I watch a lot of Gordon Ramsey and I’m sure he’d be impressed,not only was the food presentation great it was also delicious the flavour and texture was giving the Italian feel. The staff was respectful, and the restaurant was very clean. And last but not least the price I think the food was worth the money it was medium price but it was worth it! Totally a 10/10

We had the set lunch, choice of 2 or 3 courses. All food was expertly cooked and portions were a good size. Prices average for today and service attentive but not pushy. We weren’t rushed either. My spaghetti and meatballs were probably the best I’ve ever had and the almond and chocolate cake dense and dark but light. Under £100 for 2, two course, 1 three course, two wines, a soft drink and service charge. Wouldn’t hesitate to return.

We had just arrived in Bath and were looking forward to a place to eat and Antica was recommended to us by our B&B. It was a great recommendation! We made a reservation and when we arrived we were seated quickly ( we were there on a Wednesday ). We both ordered drinks (best vodka tonic I’ve had in a while) and then we ordered. I got the bolognese and my husband got the Quattro Stagioni pizza. It just hit the spot; the pizza was so flavorful and the pasta was homemade and delicious. And the wine suggestion was spot on ( we got a carafe of Primitivo). And the location is on the Pulteney Bridge. Honestly just an all around great evening with good food and friendly service.

My friends and I had the best Italian dinner outside Italy. Firstly, we were warmly welcomed by the very attentive manager Jay. Then Karla came to take care of our tables, very friendly and helped us make the right choices. The food, I felt like I was in Italy, in the middle of the bath, the food embraces you in its freshness, spices and temperatures. We ordered two starters which were enough for four people to share. The garlic bread and the menu were sensational. The main courses were the best I've ever had, the seafood risotto was super tasty, hearty, marvellous. The whole seabass was very well presented and seasoned, impressive. I highly recommend a visit, look for Karla and Jay, you won't regret it, the best Italian restaurant in the city of Bath.

Friendly and attentive staff, and delicious food! I had a glass of Falanghina and the Sicilian swordfish with a basket of hot bread... The fish was delicious, with olives, capers, cherry tomatoes.... In short, that slipper moment that is so missing here in the UK! Super recommended!

My wife and I visited Antica in the evening for our anniversary on a Wednesday, and it was a delightful experience! We started with the Carpaccio di Polpo and Crude de Melone, both of which were lovely. Despite not having a reservation and it being kind of busy, we were seated quickly in a beautiful spot in the restaurant. The service was excellent as well. We believe our server was Jurgen, and he was fantastic always checking in on us. Overall, our anniversary dinner at Antica was amazing, and my wife and I would gladly visit again!

I had a delightful afternoon meal at Antica! The food is consistently outstanding, and the desserts are exceptional. Their tiramisu is one of the best in Bath, and the panna cotta is equally impressive. I've visited this restaurant many times, and it never disappoints. The servers are always attentive and friendly, especially the manager Jurgen, who always provides a warm and inviting welcome. The food is served promptly, even during busy times. Overall, my experiences at Antica have been amazing!

Just felt like 'another customer'. Service generally poor until the end and the bill came out with a 10% service charge. We sat. Menus dumped down. No offer of anything, no small talk or specials. Came back and ordered some wine and water. Wine was poured so fast into the glasses it splashed out. Was the place busy? Not really. But the manager seemed to think he's some superstar server and has the attitude to match. Starters were okay. Different take on a Caprese salad but okay and bruschetta average. Mains we both has the seafood linguine. Calamari tough and chewy. Again, it was alright. Not the worst, not the best. Desset. The Tiramisu was amazing. And for £9 I should hope so. Probably best I've had for a ling time. Servers need to know how to serve. You don't stack plates in front of customers. With the way she gripped the cutlery and lifted the plates stacked from in front of me, she almost took my eye out with a steak knife. Train your servers how to wrist stack or, tell them to do two journeys. You're not a Weatherspoons...and you're charging 10% for this below entry level of service. Of course 'service is optional'. I'm aware but sometimes it's just not worth the agro and explaining how terrible the service was. Because it's taken personally. I know this. I've managed restaurants and worked in this industry for over 20 years. This isn't the cheapest place in Bath for what they're offering so to be treated like 'more money in the till' really gets my back up. For 8 years in Bath, I've always had to go to places that allow dogs, so the idea was to try somewhere we wouldn't usually be able to visit, especially as it's the last place we past walking back to our accomadation. And if you're looking for authentic Italian, honestly, I'd be very surprised if this was owned by Italians...If you're a tourist visiting Bath, there are lots of other great restaurants with frendly approachable skilled staff. 3 Courses, Wine (£35) and Water inc 10% Service. £125. I will not be back. Glad I've finally tried this place but a poor excuse for an Italian Restaurant.
