We stopped for dinner, not knowing Bath , as I liked the look of the place. Great decision. What a find. It was beautiful inside, with a great atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and friendly, in spite of being busy. The wines were absolutely superb and the food was beyond expectation. I had a spiced lentil & cauliflower pie with tender broccoli and Bombay potatoes, which was wonderful and my partner enjoyed a succulent rack of lamb. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening here and would highly recommend it.

Stunning interior! A fresh, modern take on gorgeous period features. Armchair seating in the front room is very cozy and there is beautiful views of the city. There is also substantial dining space and a lovely conservatory.

Great vibes and an interesting selection of regional wines, ciders, and gins. Several rooms and a conservatory with a mixture of Georgian and 1920s atmosphere. Somewhat questionable service ;-)

Fantastic food, service and setting. I ordered a Bloody Mary by way of a starter, asked for it to be "very spicy" and received the BEST Bloody Mary I have ever tasted, anywhere in the world. Bearing in mind that you have such skilled barstaff, might it be an idea to offer a few different appetisers?

We had a wonderful lunch with family to celebrate my son’s graduation, a lovely table in beautiful surroundings. Food was fresh, hot and delicious. Lovely friendly service. Whole heartedly recommend.

First time eating here after having been taken over, great large rooms, really lovely staff and the food was great as well. We were impressed.

I’m afraid it was one of the worst roasts we’ve ever had. Overcooked, bland meat - hard potatoes and hardly any vegetables. Service was slow and they didn’t even ask how our meal was, or check if everything was fine. Wouldn’t recommend I’m afraid.

Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, great service. Couldn’t fault it. The triple chocolate brownie was phenomenal. It’s a good thing we don’t live in Bath or I’d be enormous.

Visited for dinner on a couple of occasions and the food was very good and the staff very friendly and attentive. It's an interesting building with lots of character. The food was served quickly, but I didnt feel I was being rushed. Some of the tables are a little cramped and it's a popular location, but you can choose when booking online which part of the restaurant you want to be in.

We had a wonderful meal in this magnificent setting and our host Nicola could not have been more helpful. My mother was in a wheelchair and every effort was made to make her visit as comfortable as possible, nothing was too much trouble. The food and drink were excellent! Nicola was extremely friendly, giving us a full review of the history of the building, including giving us information pamphlets and made sure that ur stay was a treat. We would highly recommend a visit!

Beautiful place from the outside and well located which explains why we tried the place without any recommendation. Service good but the food was average for the price we pay.

Work night out, but still great service and lovely food. Will come back for another visit without work !

Great place, a weirdo or two though

Party of four and baby wandering around Bath wondering where best to have a pub lunch - chose the architect for reasons of exhaustion more than design and glad we did. They were great accomodating the pram and baby, put us in the orangery which is a lovely space. The interior is nicely decorated and the food was generous of portion and really great quality - we all really enjoyed our lunch - I’d highly recommend if you’re looking for a hearty, good quality meal in Bath.

I have only used the restaurant and have been quite a few times with small and larger groups. The welcome, table service and food has always been excellent. It's out go to place in Bath when we want somewhere fancy, but you can be yourself. Beautiful inside with plenty of space between the tables.

1st rate. Cracking menu and very able to manage large work parties without thr normal deadly delays. The watering staff were all over it. Very impressive!

Great atmosphere and great food and beer in a characterful building, ideally situated in the centre of bath.

Having first eaten in the restaurant here at lunchtime a couple of times in 2023, I hadn’t been that impressed with the food. However on two recent visits where I’ve dined in the bar area, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the improvement in the menu and food. Today I came for Sunday lunch and both the food and service was top notch. The roast turkey was fabulous as was the banoffee trifle.

A lovely resteraut, in very impressive building with decor to match, staff were friendly and professional. The food was excellent and offer a good selection for my Wife who is Gluten Free.

Whilst staying in Bath, I popped into The Architect lovely atmosphere, they also had some nice Ales on tap, staff were very friendly & helpful

We called for drinks and ended up ordering from the light bites menu. Food was delicious, as were the drinks. A huge thanks to Will for keeping us a lovely table and for the fantastic service. Beautiful setting enhanced by the lovely Christmas decorations. Would absolutely recommend.

What a lovely place to spend a few hours, the filet steak sandwich was amazing and service on a busy wet afternoon was excellent and attentive. A shout out to Will and Ffion for a charming dining experience also beautiful Christmas Tree !!

Nice Irish coffee in cosy place

This place wasn't very good the second time around. Very loud and very hot not relaxing either and at almost 5 pound each for a cup of tea ! Loads of empty tables at 4pm was told they are food only ! Everyone was shoved into room by entrance wooden floor and high ceiling. Was horrid the noise level

We visited The Architect last Sunday based on a recommendation for their Sunday roast. Despite arriving around 2:30 pm, the friendly manager managed to find us a table without a reservation. As my sister is celiac, we informed the staff beforehand, and they were very helpful in accommodating her dietary needs. She had a wide range of gluten-free options, and both of us thoroughly enjoyed delicious Sunday roasts (chicken and lamb). The staff were friendly, attentive, and made our dining experience truly enjoyable. We would highly recommend it and can't wait to return! Thank you - Gracias! Two happy customers :)

Great atmosphere, a gastro pub in a prestigious building. Foods very good, and our service was with a smile - very cheery. Building and services are well appointed and well kept. Worth considering when eating in Bath.

Lovely pub (we will try the restaurant next time as the food coming out to the tables all looked amazing & piping hot). Couldn’t fault the beer or wine options. Lots of cozy places to sit. Not fussy. Loads of natural light.

We visit here 4-5 times a year and always the same great service ,great food & atmosphere they are so consistent which is why he kept going back

Had to wait over 45minutes for food to arrive and for 2 of the tables meal to be wrong and their way to fix it was to take the wrong food and put the same meat (being the duck) onto another plate with the correct extras. This is disappointing and disgusting that they would do this as you would rather just have a whole new meal. The light above the table kept changing how bright it was changing between dim and bright. It’s very expensive for the “quality” you get and what you get. Would not really recommend as it is very overpriced and overhyped for what this place is. Along with this servers avoided the table which is disgraceful.

The Architect is a delightful bar and restaurant. From the attentive staff to the lovely decor everything was excellent. The food was amazing with great portion sizes for the price. Would definitely recommend!

A genuine surprise! I wondered (on reading the menu online) if it might be a bit "poncy cooking " I.e. a bit expensive and you still fancy a burger at the end of it.... BUT I WAS WRONG! It's BRILLIANT... I just had an outstanding delicious lunch, excellent service, great beer... even good music selection. Treat yourself... you won't be disappointed.

Second time around whilst in the area and this time it was not as satisfying as the first time when the food was exceptional. Went for a 6pm booking but managed to get it changed to 5pm with 20 minutes notice which was good but expected. The food was good but not exceptional, steak was a bit fatty, sea bass was excellent and the portions were perfect. Although the second visit did not match the first, I would go again.

Well situated. Just the place to enjoy a pleasant, leisurely lunch. Very nice.

We held our wedding breakfast at the Architect for ~50 guests. The venue was amazing and was a remarkably beautiful setting to hold our event. All of the staff were very helpful, understanding and went the extra mile for us and our guests. In particular, the managers Ffi and Hannah were great in helping us plan it. Hannah checked in with us regularly and ensured the event ran seamlessly. The food was spectacular, very high quality, and was praised by many of our guests. Thank you for making our wedding day so special.

Went for Sunday lunch ( 22/09 ), husband ordered the beef, which on the menu is served pink, it was not pink when it arrived and once the gravy had been scraped off it. I ordered the porcetta, 2 thin oblong pieces of pork arrived again saturated in a very thick gravy which was so heavy with thyme that it was not pleasant to eat. And no crackling! Our waitress was understanding and did take off the service charge due to our issues but I would think about going again.

Nice meal for four in the conservatory.

We came here on a Sunday evening for dinner. What a beautiful location. We were offered the chance to sit in the Orangery but we chose the main restaurant which was stunning. The staff were excellent and very attentive but not overly so. And then the food.... it was superb. Large portions and really tasty and really reasonably priced. High recommend this place if you are visiting Bath.

Food was nice. We were seated promptly and the server dried our outdoor table and seats off after some rain and took our drinks order - great. We had to flag someone down to make a food order and it took ages for just 3 main meals, the pub wasn't busy. Nice it was dog friendly.

We stumbled across this place on a horrible wet day, 4 of us plus a dog. A sign outside said it was "dog friendly" so that was a great start. Once inside, we quickly realised our good fortune. What a lovely spacious and beautiful venue. Moreover, the staff were great and the food wonderful. We enjoyed it so much we returned the next day.

In August we went on holiday to Bath and had a lovely lunch at the Architect. Very friendly staff and really delicious food. We had bought sports equipment and unfortunately forgot a new hockey stick in the restaurant. We only found out about this when we got back to the Netherlands. They helped us fantastically by returning the hockey stick to the sports shop John Moore Sport so that we could get the purchase price back. The shop did a fantastic job of that too. The Architect in Bath is an excellent venue, be it for a pre-rugby lunch, a birthday, or a similar occasion. The staff are very efficient and friendly, all of whom deserve commendation, not least on a very busy rugby day. Nix and Jimmy in particular, do deserve a special mention. They clearly know their craft and their attention to detail and the customer service experience overall stands out. I look forward to returning to The Architect soon.

We’ve only had a couple of drinks here but a very warm place with friendly personal and a nice vibe.

Visited bath for a few days last month and wanted a nice meal for one of the nights that also accommodated gluten allergies. I don’t say this often but my partner would also agree that this was one of the best meals we’d eaten. We’re devastated we’re not locals because we’d find ourselves here every week!

My husband/I had reservations for weekday early dinner and blown away by beautiful decor and fabulous location near Abbey and water! We were so impressed by our window table and the signs they put on table for our birthday/anniversary! Food excellent, service just okay since busy but understandable. Loved it so much made reservations for the next evening’s dinner again.

A pleasant enough place, very well appointed

Came for Sunday lunch with friends. Shared some very tasty starters and most of us had the roast which was plentiful. Lacked a bit of crunch in the roasties, but that is hard to come by. Staff were friendly and helpful, 2 of our party were delayed and they were happy to let us stagger our order to accommodate this. Some good ales on tap. Lovely room with fine views out over the edge of Bath.

We ate here before going to the cinema. Sitting in the conservatory area overlooking Bath Abbey and the streets outside is a favourite place to watch the world go by. Always a good choice of dishes at reasonable cost with good efficient and friendly service. A great place to eat at any time.

I must say that I wasn't expecting much of this place in terms of food. I thought it would be just a pretty place with a nice terrace that everyone wanted to sit at, but reality is that the food was very good, I enjoyed it very much. I am taking one star out of five just because the two beers I wanted to try were not available and that kind of annoyed me, but overall, it was a fantastic experience. The service was also exceptional.

In our visit to Bath, it was very difficult to find a restaurant where we could enjoy good food as we were with our two little dogs. First, thank you very much for welcoming our two little dogs ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🐶🐶. It was a great experience, with good food and a pleasant environment. They had air conditioning, which kept us cool on a hot day. The curry was delicious and the vegetables were very juicy and fresh. My son loved the pasta and the garlic bread. The halloumi cheese was good, but the sauce wasn’t so great, it didn’t make a good combination. The desserts were really nice, we really enjoyed the ice cream (coffee and vanilla flavours) next to the tiramisu and the brownie

I personally love the decor and interior design. Food was pretty good but service could be alot friendlier.

Great building setting a lovely ambience

Classy place with lovely atmosphere. Great food and well-priced, given star location in Bath (close to famous weir) Celebrated a 21st and a graduation and just right for special occasions. The best thing is no dogs in main dining area which suits as allergy and so few places to eat out now. Staff were kind and helpful and added to party atmosphere.

Best meal we had so far for the trip. Very affordable because the quantity is largeee. We came with a toodler so I called one large meal with side dish and a baby menu

Came here on a Sunday for the roast and was very excited as they offer a gluten free option. The gluten free parts of the meal were good (Yorkshire pudding) but the gravy was cold, the potatoes were a strange texture, and the beef very chewy. Disappointed because the atmosphere was very nice but this was not worth it for the price, especially as we only got 2 potatoes with our plate.

Over time, this location has become a favourite place to meet friends and colleagues. Just off the busy city centre, yet large enough to not seem overly crowded. Always excellent service, and the decor adds to a sense of calm. Very well done 👏

In Bath for the day and dropped in on spec for a cooling drink. We decided to stay for a light bite - both meals were excellent, a steak baguette and a quiche. Both well presented, good portions and very tasty. We sat outside in the sun, it was a lovely spot. The lady who served us was helpful and polite. A very enjoyable experience

Visited The Architect several times during our stay in Bath. The decor of the bar and restaurant is amazing as are the staff. We were particularly impressed with Nicola who was very attentive and pleasant, which helped to make our visits all the more memorable. The menu is quite varied and caters for all and the dishes we chose were well presented and tasty. We fully intend to return to Bath and will definitely be back at The Architect.

A first visit will definitely not be the last. The reception was great, a lovely table and great service was just right! As for the food, I really enjoyed my meal as did my wife and it made the day for our wedding anniversary. Thanks to you all!

The food was amazing! As people with dietary requirements, Nic was super helpful in making sure we could eat and that we had a great time. As first timers in Bath, it is an absolute must for people who are wanting a great meal that caters for all.

Came here to celebrate graduation with dinner at The Architect. Lovely bustling atmosphere and we were seated in one of the round booths. Service was great and food overall lovely. I had the poached salmon salad which was nicely put together and tasted good but nothing overly special.

On a brief we stopped here for a light savoury snack. There was plenty of choice and they were able to cater for celiac diet. Great value for money and a good place to people watch.

An evening to remember at The Architect. The Architect isn't just a meal, it's an experience. Recommended twice by locals, I brought my family to give it try for a late lunch. From the moment we walked in, the warm atmosphere, flattering settings, and the tasteful decoration provided the perfect ambiance for our first Saturday in Bath. Our young server was incredibly helpful and offered fantastic recommendations. But the true star of the show was the food. Every dish we tried was bursting with authentic flavor. This place left us wanting to come back for more, although unlikely, at least we leave with great memories to take back home.

Pricey for what looks like high end, but actually feels a bit like it's pretending. Attention to detail from kitchen and communication issue resulted in a salad being served missing half of it's key ingredients. If you charge £19 for a salad, it better to include its key ingredients or take it off menu, else guests pay a lot for lettuce. Appreciate the service staff handled this well discounted dish and were pretty good overall, and the decor is lovely. But I mainly eat out for the food and it didn't deliver. Wine list was comprehensive and there was a broad food menu. Perhaps I was a bit unlucky.

We popped in on a visit to many different pubs in Bath for our wedding anniversary on Saturday and the decor was an immediate attraction and just a nice quiet, pleasant atmosphere. Even the toilets were immaculate! On our last day we decided to go back again for lunch before our train. I had the mixed roast and it was amazing! Will definitely return.
