This was our fifth or sixth visit to Sonny Stores & unfortunately might have been our last, despite having it been one of our favourite spots in Bristol up until now. Our booking was at 2.30 so unsure as to whether we were unlucky in the sitting between lunch & dinner but the service was really poor - we were stood lingering in the middle of the restaurant for us to be greeted / sat down, our drinks took 45 minutes to come & overall we felt pretty forgotten whereas other tables were being attended to. My friend ordered a lime & soda & was brought a glass of sparkling water & chopped limes for her to squeeze herself into her drink which was a bit random. Not sure if there has been a change in chef as the pasta menu wasn't as varied or impressive as in previous visits. Overall, the food was tasty but really would have expected the service to have been better for what we paid,

We chose to eat a holiday lunch here ,and we re very pleased we did , the staff are lovely and the food delicious , would definitely recommend, and wish we lived closer so that we could visit regularly!

Excellent fish and chips, with real homemade chips not frozen. Batter was delicious and fish thick and juicy, huge portions.

Went in at 3pm not expecting anything different from other local fish and chip shops, but it was exceptional quality, cooked to order. The fish was lovely and thick, with a wonderfully crunchy batter. They couldn't have been nicer, I'm disabled and we had my assistance doggo with us Great food, lovely staff, and according to my son (32yrs) the milkshakes reminded him of when he was a child 😁😁😁

Best service for my daily coffee and some takeaway sandwiches. Always quick! 🥰🥳

What a find! We will be going again as food and service were excellent and staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice to see something a little different on the menu. 10 out of 10.

Lovely welcoming country pub serving great food and beer.

Been here twice. While the food is fresh and piping hot there is no real depth of flavour. Don’t get me wrong it’s by no means bad but definitely overrated.

We had a fabulous stay from start to finish with our little pack (my partner and our two dogs) for 4 nights. It was my partners birthday and we arrived to a bottle of prosecco, a lovely card and balloons, which was a nice touch. The lodge was lovely warm and everything we hoped and felt like home away from home just to relax. The hot tub had no restrictions on time and was always on which was great. The surroundings were peaceful and beautiful. Staff were friendly and responsive. The 5.5 hour trip was worth it and we would love to come back. This was our first trip to Cornwall and we thoroughly enjoyed, we just regret not staying longer!

The loctation is good not far from bath if your going out in the evening. Staff are friendly Rooms are tiny and basic ours had a fusty smell which wasn't very nice which was even worse in the bathroom shower which you couldn't swing a cat in so kept bumping my elbows and until the pub closed very noisy. Breakfast basic but OK Not worth the money to be honest

Booked a table for 8 for a birthday lunch. Table was reserved and looked attractive on our arrival. Food was great, service was great. The licence meant we could have a glass or 2 of prosecco. Thank you.

Superb cakes and they know how to make a fantastic cup of coffee

Had Sunday Lunch here on 16th February fantastic food excellent service in a very relaxed atmosphere thanks Royal Oak staff well done we will definitely be returning

Had a meal here tonight with a friend and food was fantastic, great staff and my requests of ‘Thai spicy’ for my food was spot on giving me memories of being back in Thailand 🇹🇭 🙏🙂
