Lack of crab in my crab sandwich!

Lovely Dorset apple cake with clotted cream and a really good flat white coffee. Husband had coffee cake and a red wine. Friendly staff. Can sit inside or outside looking over the harbour. Highly recommend.

Just visited Weymouth to spend the day with my family. Found this lovely cafe. Even had loads of gluten free options ( for my husband). He had a nice lemon cake and my cake was amazing (Nutella cake). Lovely pot of earl grey tea . Friendly staff and sensible prices.

Really nice cosy, family cafe. We had a light snack of ice cream, sides and cake. Would recommend to all.

We are frequent visitors to Custom House Cafe. I don’t really enjoy a fry up but I do love a crab sandwich so I asked if I could possibly have one for breakfast (weird I know 😂). Keith was happy to oblige and my goodness it was delicious … best in Weymouth! 😍 Great food, great staff, great coffee and a lovely view of our beautiful harbour! 5 stars from us!

Sunday morning breakfast. Disappointed! Coffee was extremely weak. Asked for an extra shot, and was charged £2! Not overly impressed with the food either. I doubt it will matter, as they seem busy, but they have lost my trade. A tip, if you serve weak coffee, don't charge your locals £2 to rectify it.

Always friendly staff and up for a bit of banter. I had the spicy fries for a change, lovely, served hot so know its been freshly cooked and plenty of it. Highly recommend.

What a lovely young gentleman that served us on Friday 29 June, really knowledgeable, knew immediately which milk alternative was unsweetened, recommended the Dorset Apple Cake to my cousin who hadn't had before and thoroughly enjoyed it. Helpful friendly and efficient and the drinks were great too. Nice atmosphere sitting outside in the sunshine.

Very tasty brunch! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The iced coffee was lovely too. It was pretty busy, which is always a good sign, but the staff was so lovely and we didn’t have to wait too long. Highly recommend this place! It's my new go-to spot whenever I’m visiting Weymouth and fancy a brekkie or brunch! I will definitely try lunch next time. We also got seats outside, which was very nice. The meat sausages and bacon were fresh, and everything was top standard.

Waiting staff were so friendly and helpful. Great range of gluten free cakes to choose from and even had gluten free bread for breakfast. We had gluten free carrot cake and the pistachio cannolis which were both amazing!

Best cafe in Weymouth, staff are lovely and very well organised! Amazing atmosphere and milkshakes are out of this world! Couldn’t recommend this place enough if you visit Weymouth!

The vegan breakfast was nice but two days in a row we were served non-vegan ice cream and had to have it swapped. We are lucky that we are vegan out of preference and values and not due to allergy as that could have been a serious issue. It’s very disappointing.

We went to Custom House Cafe for a lovely breakfast this morning. The full English was good and my husband was very happy. I had smashed avocado with poached eggs on toasts. It was delicious too. The coffees were nice and we were early (9ish in the morning) so there weren’t much traffic on the road while we were sat outside. We got to enjoy to lovely view across the other side of the harbour.

The food is always excellent and the staff are so friendly. The fresh crab salad and homemade Dorset apple cake are my favourite. I visit a couple of times a week for lunch and thoroughly recommend this cafe.

Went to lunch here today and sorry, was bitterly disappointed. The menu lists FISH OF THE DAY giving the impression that it is fresh caught fish. I even asked at point of order "what type of fish is the FISH OF THE DAY and was told "Cod I think". So none the wiser I ordered my fish chips and peas and my husband ham egg and chips. When it was served I was really disappointed to see that it was a preformed battered fish fillet of unknown origin but could easily have been from Lidl and the ham egg and chips was slippery packet ham probably from the same supermarket or cash and carry. I asked our server to mention to management my disappointment that the fish was a frozen preformed fillet not even home made batter just straight our of a box and that the menu clearly gives the impression that it is fresh caught fish - the cafe is sitting right on the harbourside for goodness sake. Sorry Custom House Cafe you really can't mislead customers this way. When we come out to eat we'd like to eat what is implied from the menu NOT something we can cook up in 30 mins from a box at home. The one star given is for your hard working serving staff who did very well.

Nice waterside setting. Nice food. Coffee was nice and served hot. Very reasonable prices. Overall would recommend. Cooked breakfast was a nice sensible portion size.

Fabulous breakfast at The Custom House cafe this morning. I enjoyed avocado smash - 2 slices of bloomer toast with a thick layer of delicious avocado and 2 poached eggs, my friend went for a simple poached eggs on toast. The other breakfast options also looked lovely - whether meat, veggie or vegan. Service was friendly and fast. Cafe is also dog friendly which is a plus for us. Great location - nice walk around the harbour post breakfast

Tried to go here for food. Found a table and was ignored. After 15min we gave up and walked out.

Very friendly host. We arrived at nearly closing time but happily looked after. Returned another day to sit outside in the sunshine.

Just echoing all the other reviews, Custom House Cafe is excellent. There is a great feeling about the cafe which is down to wonderful service and high-quality food. I had southern fried chicken, chips and coleslaw there today. All was delicious and the chips here are something else! (chips are often one way or the other out and about… you will not be disappointed with them here!) As the food was so tasty, I didn’t manage to get photos before it was eaten. I did get a shot of the outside of the building which looked great on the quayside. Highly recommend!

1st time we tried the Custom house and next time we visit Weymouth will definitely come here for breakfast. My partner and I both ordered full English breakfast, mine a traditional and hers we took a couple of bits off due to allergy . Food came out in good time and was piping hot. The food was delicious and great quality. My partner was given extra sausage due to taking off beans and toast. She ordered 2 eggs but one egg came about a minute after, the chap explained he popped the yolk on an egg so cooked another. That is what I call service. We both enjoyed our food and coffee which was great value for money. The bread for toast was awesome. To top it off we could hear the kitchen staff singing while they prepared people's food in the kitchen. What a happy, delicious and good value place this is. Will definitely return next time we visit Weymouth.

We popped in initially for a coffee and brother in law NEEDED a fresh crab sandwich....because of the staff and the lovely decor of this place, we decided that we would bring our whole family down for breakfast the following day. Had we not been going out for that evening I would have ordered a proper lunch as everything that passed by me looked so good. They, at quite short notice, when I phoned the following morning, put aside 2 tables as there was 13 of us the following day and their breakfast was fabulous. Thank goodness I gave them a bit of notice because it was packed. Actually one of our party didn't have breakfast as he was waiting for the lunch menu to start to which he said was brilliant. We all enjoyed the food, the staff are outstanding, and in the setting that it is based in...well you can't get any better than that! Thank you Custom House Cafe....but it's not just only the food that make a place but the fabulous staff to.

Nice quayside cafe/bar. Good range of food, ciabata's, salads, burgers looked great at reasonable prices. There were good vegetarian options and nice side salad came with our ciabata's. Child friendly and easy access at ground level.

Friendly service and tasty food. Good coffee. I had the waffle with bacon and maple syrup. My wife had a fruit scone with jam and cream. I'll definitely come back here for breakfast when I'm here for the Ironman 70.3 in September.

The staff were really friendly and the food was so delicious I couldn't even take a photo as I ate it so quickly! The view of the quay was great too, in the summer it would be a great place to sit outside and watch the boats.

We visited for drinks and were met with a friendly welcome and good service. There was a good choice on the menu and we would definitely visit for a meal if we were visiting Weymouth again.

Really pleased we chose this cafe. Such friendly staff & great choices on the menu. My friend & I shared the ‘Chunky cheese on toast with lashings of Worcestershire sauce’ & the sweet potato fries with garlic mayonnaise. Truly scrumptious! The cheese was SO tasty. Reasonably priced too. Also in a picturesque location by the harbour.😊

By far one of the best breakfast I’ve had in ages, really lovely little find, good value for money and lovely and clean, like the fact you order and pay at the counter. Lovely views of the harbour. Would suggest booking as it gets busy.

Whenever we are in Weymouth we go to Custom House Cafe as coffee is good and meals are nice. Always pleasant staff. Nice and quiet, no music. Dog friendly. Pleasant cafe.

Another wonderful meal at the Custom House cafe. This place is amazing, the food is exceptional and the staff are so welcoming. The location is perfect so booking is advised. We went here for lunch 2 out of the 3 days we stayed in Weymouth.

Called in and the place was crowded - always a good sign in Winter. Tables and ambiance meant that it did not feel crowded although we took the last table. Ordered coffee and cake but subsequently wished I had ordered a Breakfast - I was envious of those being served around me. My coffee and Dorset Apple cake were brought swiftly. Both were excellent but I must make especial mention of the Apple Cake - it was the best I have tasted and I have tasted a few!!

Visited two days as food and service was so good. Definitely recommend.

When we walked in as a group of 5 without a reservation, the café was almost empty so it was easy to get a table. Within about 10 minutes, it was completely full and the service remained good despite the sudden uptake in customers. I was very impressed.

We ate here three times during our holiday for both breakfast and lunch and we were very pleased. The food is just lovely, piping hot & well presented. The staff here are very friendly and the service is exceptional. There is a very good range of fresh cakes and the coffee is great. We will definitely be returning soon.

nice spot by the river. you have to choose your table number first then go in and order. being on my own by the time i came out after ordering my table was taken. not a good system for solo diners. ordered a crab sandwich and bottle of water. sandwich did not have much crab in at all and came with a few crisps and a tiny bit of salad. at 12 pounds 40 wasnt worth it. you must be paying for the view.

One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had! Myself and my partner both had a traditional English breakfast and my partner was able to swap a couple of items (he doesn’t eat eggs or tomatoes) with no issues. It was absolutely delicious, good quality and filling. Would definitely return.

Really helpful, friendly staff . Had lunch today , sat outside in the sunshine . Husband had the Portland crab sandwich, I had ploughman’s sandwich both were presented well and tasted lovely. We were going to have a slice of the coffee, walnut cake but the sandwich was enough. We will be back .

My wife and I visited the Custom House Cafe on Tuesday (19th September) morning and having left home in Cambridgeshire at 05.00hrs we were certainly ready for something to eat! The Custom house Café did not disappoint. I had the large breakfast and my wife poached eggs on toast. the food was perfectly cooked, served swiftly and clearly high quality ingredients were used. The staff were very friendly and our meals represented great value for money. This will become our 'Go to' place for breakfast when we next visit Weymouth. Thank you.

Very good vegetarian and vegan options. Food was delicious and came out quickly . We sat outside with our two dogs which was very pleasant and we had a great view of the harbour. However there is not a lot of room by the tables for dogs to sit down.

In my opinion this is the best cafe on Weymouth harbour. The staff are so friendly and polite, the food is amazing just like the view. The milkshakes are lovely and there is a very good choice of dishes to pick from. I would totally recommend this cafe, in fact we went back 3 times while on holiday.

I come to Weymouth around 20 times a year and this place does the best breakfast in the area. The food is always outstanding and I always find the staff so polite and tender to your every need. Coffee is fantastic and the location is perfect. 10/10 😊

The most racist and incompetent staff I’ve come across. Service non existent, the worst flat white I’ve had. It was simply a white Americano when asked the staff if it was a flat white, their response was yes. Misleading and dishonest. Being a father of a little girl myself, I have never called a female a B and would never even consider calling someone that. You can come out and say whatever you like to make yourself feel and look better in front of the world. You can clearly see from your response how customers based you are… You didn’t not even bother to address the main issues with this review: racist staff, incompetent and not customer friendly. Instead you come up with false accusations. If anyone called me the B I would certainly not serve them, the fact that I was served proves the fact that such thing was never said in the first place.

Paid £22 for two crab sandwiches which were more salad than crab. I could have brought three dressed crabs and a loaf of bread for that money in the seaside town where I live.

Nestled in the heart if the old harbour in Weymouth, Cutom house is not only charming due to the historic nature of its setting and ambiance, the staff are very welcoming and the coffee and walnut cake is good too!

Lovely spot, could see the harbour from our table. We had milkshakes, very thick and nice. Husband had cheesy garlic bites (very delicious), daughter had chips, and I had a slice of not very lemony cake. Still not a bad slice of cake. Friendly staff.

Great quality breakfast! So good we returned the next day for bacon sandwiches before our drive home. My mum really doesn't like sausages but even ate hers as such good quality produce.

Sunday morning coffee and sausage sandwich. Cafe was full, with every seat taken. Yet our order arrived swiftly, with a beaming smile attached to our server. Food was hot and generous, coffee was piping hot. Can never find a fault with this place, one of our favourites. ❤️

We found this great cafe by accident one morning and liked it as soon as we saw it. The cafe was very clean and the decor was very well done creating a good atmosphere. Toilets were sparkling and well equipped. The quality of the sausages...

The venue was clean and well maintained and the people were lovely. Our food was delicious. Only four stars, as I found it a little cramped and that makes things difficult gor me.
