Liberty Coffee in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

My favourite in the area. Cakes are fantastic and not too sweet like so many other places and Coffee is wonderful - smooth - perfectly made. Lots of vegan options as well. Proper cooking and baking - none of the mass produced stuff. Super friendly and lovely atmosphere.

Brilliant coffee, cozy cafe. Friendly. Selection of various dishes including oriental food.

10/10 coffee made on creamy milk and the food was absolutely delicious. We had the Homity Pie and Chickpea and Harissa pastry with Slaw. Lovely outlook as well. Thoroughly recommend.

Lots of cakes ,did do vegan sausage roll but quite small and expensive, I had a takeaway coffee and had my own reusable cup ,bit no discount on using your own cup ,thought it was pricey

Called here as an alternative to services on M5. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, with books to read and nice airy window seat. Coffee was excellent, new world and fair trade from people who clearly care about what they serve

First time visit and we loved it. A great selection of cakes (courgette and lime was had) and fantastic sausage roll with caramelised onion and red leicester. Will definitely visit again next time we're in Launceston.

It’s all in the little touches of them remembering your order, taking the time to greet and talk to you. Non-negotiable my favourite spot for a coffee on a weekly basis x

In the Liberty coffee we got the best coffee in England! If you want to have a nice coffee break in Cornwall, this is the place to go!

We must go into Launceston approximately once a month on a Saturday morning. We were saddened to hear of a very negative review left by a customer. We always find the staff are absolutely fantastic, food delicious and coffee amazing. Always a great experience and atmosphere even down to the group of guys that seem to meet up on a Saturday to put the world to rights, just brilliant, can’t recommend it highly enough, well worth a visit 😍

We ordered coffee and cake but experienced rude staff when visiting this coffee shop. They made negative comments about us using the Wi-Fi. I would argue that if you don’t want Wi-Fi used then don’t choose to offer it. We could only drink half of our coffee as it was so acidic but a different drink wasn’t offered instead we were given a 10 minute lecture about it being the milk that has effected the taste of the coffee. We didn’t want the awkward explanation just a relaxing treat of coffee and cake. We haven’t visited again which is a shame as we often visit Launceston at least twice weekly.

We stop here every time we go to devon/cornwall as the coffee/food and service is truly amazing. We had toasted teacakes and coffee on the friday going home both were amazing!! This place is a GEM !

We stumbled upon Liberty Coffee and we are very glad we did. Although they had run out of a few things by time we got there, we wasn’t disappointed. We had the quiche which was amazing, the side salad was a delicious. The staff were so lovely and friendly, very welcoming. We had a lovely visit and would highly recommend a visit.

Can't fault the coffee, shop packed with older clientele, barista going for the profeesional look but lacking the professional charm 😬. From the outside looks like complacency has set in, competition might help them come back to life. Will visit again when in town next.

In these hard times I hate slamming businesses but I dropped into the coffee shop for coffee and cake. Found a table near the window and waited for my order. A lady brought my cake and I asked if she could clean my table which was covered in crumbs and coffee stains. She came back 5 minutes later with my coffee and acknowledged she hadn't had time to clean my table. She walked away and still didn't come back to clean the table. The Cafe was reasonably busy but I am afraid this is no excuse as another recently empty table was cleared of dishes and wiped down. Very disappointing as its not nice to sit at a dirty table and I just wanted to drink my coffee and get out quick.

We stopped off on our way back from holiday in Cornwall. All staff were exceptionally friendly. The coffee was superb, the quiche was homemade and super tasty. Would definitely recommend!!

Absolutely beautiful coffee. Moved here 4months ago and started working in town at one of the many barbershops. Was introduced to Liberty Coffee and can honestly say it's the best damn coffee iv ever had!! Anyone who says different is just crazy I tell thee 😉 lol wonderfully chilled atmosphere in there also, none of this hecticness from big corporate coffee places. Highly recommend to anyone who asks about where to get coffee in town.

Has potential but we ordered 2 americanos and the guy handed us 2 batch brews saying that the machine wasn’t working… he wasn’t apologetic nor did he inform us before or ask if we would like something else. I would have been ok with this except the coffee was seriously bad - tasted burnt and very diluted

Stopped in for a coffee and catch up with a friend, everything was very friendly and helpful. Even though it was quiet they didn't mind us DD until closing time. Very good latte and cappuccino, must return to try the cake!

The best coffee in the whole of the South West, which is expertly prepared. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere; a real hidden gem.

We stumbled across this cafe on a recent long weekend in North Cornwall. I love to try new cakes, and the old classics done well, so we ordered Spanish Almond cake and Coffee and Walnut. Both were delicious. The Spanish Almond was like a cross between Bakewell Flavour and those Ameretto biscuits that come with coffee. It wasn't too sweet, which I prefer. Hubbies Coffee cake had a silky coffee icing and I would love to know how they got that texture. Drinks were good too, will definitely return should we ever come back to Launceston.

The most cosy little cafe. All the staff are really lovely and the produce is the finest quality. I recommend this place to anyone new in launceston and looking for somewhere chilled out but insanely delicious cakes and drinks !

Came in here whilst on holiday back in November and honestly, had some of the nicest food I've eaten. Definitely the nicest homity pie. We had a oat milk Chia Latte, homity pie which came with a carrot and coriander salad. Amazing, crusty base on the pie, soft cheesy potato with a lovely acidic(but not over powering) salad which cleansed your pallet. Its not often i leave somewhere and rave about what we've just eaten for weeks on end. so thank you! Also your Chai Latte are amazing!

They make a decent cup of coffee!

Empty on a miserable rainy saturday afternoon in November.  But it looked bright and inviting so in we went.  It was inviting.  They were not far from closing time, but there was no hint that we needed to get a move on.   It's down the hill from the castle, but I get the impression that everything in Launceston is!   Decent espresso, nice cup of tea, lemonade and a granola bar.  I'm not entirely sure what granola is - sort of solidified muesli? - but it was good A lovely café

Best coffee in Launceston, by miles. In fact, I'd go as far as to say it's the best coffee I've had in Cornwall. The vegan roll is also delicious.

We were too late for the homemade proper sausage (and veggie) rolls on our first visit but went back the next day. All four of us raved about the sausage rolls and coffee. It would have been too fattening to have cakes as well but they were pretty tempting! All the bakery food is home made. This cafe is run by a highly trained barista who has created a special place in Launceston. The prices are similar to London but the quality is special. Definitely worth a special visit though not open every day.

Stopped here on the way back from our holiday in Cornwall. Wanted to avoid the curse of Costa and kept on walking on a blisteringly hot day. Rounded the corner near the church and saw the blue awning - what a lovely quirky place. Cheerful, friendly staff and an altogether welcoming atmosphere. The coffee was excellent and a member of your staff took the time to tell me about the new blend which was being used. We only had a tea/coffee and croissant but the food others were having looked great.

Best place around for speciality coffee. Light and airy vibes with incredibly kind staff. LOVE THIS PLACE. Would highly recommend.

It was alright, it took a while for the food to come out. They also had someone working that wasn't feeling very well behind serving food to us, I don't think this is right in a hospitality section

Been here a few times now and it’s a great spot for a lovely cuppa and either a great bit of cake or, if you’re early enough to grab one, a super tasty vegan roll. Staff are lovely and friendly.

A terrific coffee shop. Carefully sourced coffees, brewed to perfection. My cortado was the best I’ve had in a long time, great croissants, wonderful sesame granola bar, homemade jam, friendly staff. I’ll be back.

My espresso was superb, simply superb. Sausage roll wasn't bad but a little on the small side for the cost, would be fair it it was £3isb but felt like that was a bit too much. Espresso however, otherworldly.

We were on a short break to Cornwall, and during a shopping trip and a look around we found the Liberty coffee shop. My wife had Earl Grey tea, and was offered extra hot water if required. The cappuccino was the best I have tasted...

Really enjoyed the salted caramel brownie and my extra hot hot chocolate. Personally would have preferred the hot chocolate to be a bit of a richer chocolate taste, but one bonus was it wasnt overly sweet!!!! Our party of 4 were pleased to come in out of the rain into this pleasant coffee shop.

Superb decaff mocha, my daughter enjoyed her hot chocolate too. Chocolate brownie nice and sticky. Service got the fifth star

Superb coffee and home baked goods. We had a bountiful almond croissant and a vegan sesame granola slice with our excellent house brew. Friendly staff and plenty of dogs.

Just off the main town square by two very old and lovely churches. Pleasant little setting. Not a large amount of seating but enough for its size. A nice selection of coffee and other drinks. A nice quality of coffee to. A selection of home cooked savoury food and also cakes and tarts. I had a delicious slice of raspberry tart and it was yummy. You must try get they have it. Pleasant service and quite quick. It's worth a visit. You won't be disappointed

I enjoyed the laid back coffee shop. It has large windows fronting the street with chairs placed strategically within to allow you to have time to look out or in. The coffee is great - brewed well and served either to drink in or take away. The beans seem to be rotated every few weeks. In the days of corporate coffee this is a great little place. It is located at the bottom of the high street with access to the rest of the small town. There is a very old church on the same side of the street which is worth a visit

One of the best quality coffee shops in North Cornwall, and independent. Chilled out ambiance to relax and enjoy.

I prefer to support independent coffe shops where possible. This is a good example of why. Good service and ‘different choice’. Give it a go. You won’t be disappointed.

Nice little cafe situated within what was once the Liberal Club building. Good range of food and snacks. Perfect place to meet and chat with friends before a walk around the town.

A lovely friendly informal cafe. Spotted it by chance while walking round the town. Noticed the dog friendly sign in the window. Had lovely cofffee, sausage roll with chutney and amazing carrot cake. Would recommend and go back again.
