St. Agnes Bakery in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Stumbled upon this place on return from a coastal walk…. and what a find. It was mid afternoon, so bought some carrot cake and doughnuts as a treat, to take back to our accommodation to enjoy with the rest of the family. Doughnuts - fluffy, with right proportion of jam to dough Carrot cake - perfect consistency (sometimes carrot cake can be oily or dry …. this was simply perfect) Delights were so tasty, we returned the next day and bought cinnamon buns, apple turnovers and almond croissants. So naughty …. But oh so nice! Staff friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

Tuna bap, cheese and pickle and Parmalat ham baps, wow, best ever, scones fresh on a daily basis, big and delicious, friendly staff and quick to serve you, best bakery I've been to, couldn't find anything to pick on, well deserved 5*****

A beautiful bakery, you can smell it from outside and instantly mouth watering. Very friendly staff and delicious food. Will be returning!

Best sourdough bread in Cornwall. Cinnamon buns are delicious. Very nice people. Prices are reasonable not like in one bakery in Truro.... Highly recommend!

Absolutely excellent bakery. We are here on holiday for a week and love this place. Lovely staff and great pasties, sausage rolls and cake. Love the sour dough too. The food is high quality. Could not recommend enough.

Me and my mum are vegan, so we were a bit offended by the staff members attitude when we asked for the vegan pasties at the back since the others were close to the meat pasties (most other bakeries have a separate section for these), and the lady responded “well they are covered in pastry” in a snappy tone. She once again snapped after we asked about the price of the carrier bags, replying with “it does go to charity” in yet again a somewhat snappy tone. Even after all that, the pasties were a bit burnt and not up to it’s expected standard for customers. I understand that people have bad days, but being snappy to other people and dismissing somebody’s dietary preference is disrespectful

Customer service terrible. Meat was next to the vegan food. All other bakeries I’ve been too have separated the vegan from the meat. I asked and was told the pastry is saving it. 😳 I highly recommend finding somewhere else. I would give it a -10. Never buying from there again

Had a medium pasty from here today after seeing it on YouTube about 6 months ago thought I'd try it , it was one of the best pasties I'd ever tried thankyou. Parking is a nightmare tho

Eat one of the large sausage rolls whilst they’re still warm and it will be the finest part of your day, unless you’re getting married or something like that - but maybe still even then.

Great vegan pasties but always seem to have run out of bread by lunch?

Excellent in house Cornish Pasties. A bit of difficulty in finding it as locals didn't take into account of the one way system. Well worth the persistence in finding it!

The best sausage roll I’ve ever had in my life pastry was amazing and the filling was immense and very very large don’t buy one if you’ve not got a big appetite - according to my sister the Cornish pasty is also top notch

A fantastic little find. We had a jumbo sausage roll, Cornish pasty and two different sweet treats. A little expensive, and unfortunately the size of the pasty & sausage roll beat us! The jumbo sausage roll is more meat than pastry, though delicious, I had to give up! The pasty was apparently tasty, but again just too much to eat! We walked down to the beach from the bakery and enjoyed the out of season quietness!

Discovered St Agnes bakery on instagram and decided this is where I am going to get my pasty today. We were there just in time before they closed shop early as the road was being done. Pasty was gorgeous, a lot of filling. Lovely pastry. Delicious!

St Agnes is beautiful but very hilly if your knocking on a bit, but the bakery makes up for them because we had the best homemade pasties and sausage rolls ever.

Absolute gem of a bakery. Gorgeous produce and very reasonably priced with helpful and polite staff. Had two huge sausage rolls and scones to takeaway. Delicious.

A must visit if you are in this part of Cornwall, which taking into account the great beach nearby and Trunk deli, justify passing by whenever around. A local production of Cornish pasty, bread and patisserie which is fabulous. Queues start before they even open as it is a great place.

We came here last year and returned especially to eat the delicious baked goods on sale here. Had steak and cornish blue cheese pasties ( apparently their supplier couldnt supply the stilton) oh my goodness, delicious crisp pastry stuffed with lots of meat veg and oozing cheese. The staff are always super friendly and helpful too!

The sausage rolls are the real gem here! Make sure you buy a couple!

We visited at the end of the day so not a huge choice but the cakes we purchased were absolutely deeeelicious 😋

Best bakery we have been to! Me and my partner had Cornish pasty, sausage roll and donuts! Absolutely delicious. The caramel donut was insane and would recommend 10/10. Staff were also very kind and welcoming! Would love to return again!

I have recently completed a pasty eating review of the twelve best pasties in Cornwall. These are establishments the length and breadth of the County that regularly appear in top reviews. So how did St Agnes bakery stand up against the competition……? Well i would say it was impossible to pick a clear winner from the twelve as margins were so fine. Let’s just say Cornwall is blessed with a small group of elite pasty makers of which St Agnes bakery is one of them. It all depends how hungry you are are and what the weather is like to split them.

This bakery is the best! The food is always so fresh and delicious and the coffee is also very good! Always come here multiple times when we holiday in St Agnes. Would 1000% recommend!!

The Pastys here are delicious and unlike any of the others we sampled around Cornwall. We even made a large pre order just so we could bring it all back with us on our 7 hour journey home.

St Agnes is a beautiful village, but I would seriously consider moving there for the bakery alone. Delightful, friendly staff (even when busy…which is all the time!). Delicious pasties and sausage rolls. My mouth is watering thinking of them. On my first visit (yes, I went back a few times, which says everything you need to know) I thought it was a little pricey. However, on tasting the pasties and sausage rolls, I changed my mind. Excellent value. Clearly good quality ingredients used and they are HUGE. You wouldn’t need to eat anything else for quite a while. On reflection, just as well we don’t live locally. I would be switching to an elasticated waistband. The freshly made doughnuts are very good as are the Oreo brownies. Be prepared for a queue if busy, but so worth the wait.

WOW! I've read the reviews for this bakery and had to try it myself. The Cornish pasties were amazing, the best I've ever had, and I've tried many! The pastry was lovely and I've never seen so much filling in a pasty! The choice was really good, including veggie and vegan options. And it has to be said, the staff are lovely! Unfortunately I couldn't manage one of the beautiful cakes they had, but there's always next time!

Large sausage roll looks good but got down to the beach sat down to eat lunch Raw inside looks good from the outside but not cooked shame because it really does look good on the outside.

Absolute gem of a place, sausage roll best I've had down here puts rick steins deli to shame. Prices cheaper than most staff wonderful. I'd put a pic on but didn't last long enuff

Fabulous pasties and sandwiches !!

Well what can I say? This bakery is truly amazing. We are back again after 10 months away and this was the first place we headed for food. I really could live on this place’s pasties. Today though it was giant sausage roll time for me! These are truly delicious and filled like nothing else I’ve tried. Everything is made fresh on the premises. And the staff are always friendly and welcoming.

Both my husband and I had had an amazing Cornish pasty from Philps last week and was keen to have another one before the end of our holiday and decided to try St Agnes Bakery after seeing on Cornwall Live 2022 that it was in the top 10 places to have a pasty, and also reading reviews on Google. However we were very disappointed with our Cornish pasties. We felt the pastry was overcooked and was very flaky, making it very messy for eating. The base had the burnt juices on which made the pasty have a bitter taste. There was also a lack of flavour and could do with more seasoning. On a positive note the pasty was so hot and you could see the steam coming from the inside. It was such a shame it was not to our liking.

Must visit if your in the area, used to come here 50 years ago and now it's even better than i remembered, wholesome, rustic, artisan produce , served by friendly helpful locals.

‘Ansome pasty. A touch more expensive than larger bakeries, but absolutely worth the price. My chicken and chorizo pasty was amazing and I will definitely be back one day to sample the cakes!

BEST... PASTY.... EVER!!! We drove from Kent to get a "REAL" Cornish Pasty and it was worth every mile and every penny of fuel to get here. Large chunks of meat, loads of veg and it was beautifully seasoned with a gorgeous pastry and topped with great customer service with a smile. I would highly reccommed.

Honestly the best pasty, pastry was perfect, perfect ratio of meat, potato and onion, perfect amount of black pepper, thoroughly cooked through and it was the best.

Tried the traditional pasty and a sausage roll. Both very tasty. Depending on your appetite one pasty would be enough for two people to share- they are huge.

As a Vegan for many years to find this amazing gem of a bakers blew my mind with their various options, I brought the vegan cheese pasty and I can honestly say it's the best pasty I have ever had since moving to Cornwall 8 years ago, so a big thank you to all the staff.

If you are looking for a gastro style well filled sausage roll this is the place to go. I have tried the pork and apple and also the pork and chili, both delicious very filling and worth the price. Good quality meat and the pastry surroundings were delicious. So glad I live close enough to go for the occasional treat.

Fantastic sausage rolls both meat and vegetarian. Their scones are absolutely delicious! Cornish pasties tasty too.

Said they opened at 10am today (Sunday) but no one was in to open up. Bit disappointed as I’d heard good reviews but hey ho Got to love a business owner that bites to all their negative reviews… pure arrogance which will eventually rub off on your business! But hey ho, you obviously know best

I looovee this bakery. I had an iced latte, passterie and an oat bar. It was just amazing! The passterie was just so creamy and tasty, wow. And there is such a huuge offer, everything looks amazing. I will come back to 100% although its a long way. Thank you for having this bakery it sweetens up everybodys life:)

The Steak Pasties is just the BEST!!!!

I'm not sure who the lady was who served me a takeaway sandwich but she is one the very best examples of fantastic customer service, ever! She is extremely polite, addressing everyone individually as though everyone matters to her. I used to consult in customer care and this lady knows how to make her customers feel good, the holy grail in retail. She's a gem and in my opinion, there are not many like her especially in seaside towns where often I feel more of a nuisance than a customer.
