Always a good welcome. Turned up for brunch and a large mug of tea. The Welsh rarebit was excellent. Good clean loos and restaurant. I always stop here when I'm passing.

Rode down from North Devon. Plenty of parking spaces available. Received a friendly welcome and a decent cuppa and Bacon & Egg sarny. Fished with a mooch around the used biker gear and bikes for sale. Well worth a stop-off if you're passing!

Lovely little cafe great staff ,clean and great food.

Was empty cos of rain, but food was lush Bacon sandwich,large breakfast ,2 mugs of coffee,under €20.Well worth it.Would definitely go back

Better service than BMW, half the price and yes, they have the diagnostics kit, original spares etc.

A very accommodating LUVVLY lady served me egg and bacon bab and coffee to my car window The only thing missing was roller skates I am a recent amputee and I was hungry It reminded me of the ace cafe maybe the Ace of 💘🌹😎🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿❤️

Great proper food cooked fresh, immense burgers to die for. lovely helpful staff. Very knowledgeable when it comes to allergens and although they do not claim to be GF, they actually offer plenty of options and may even be one of the best places to grab a GF bite locally. If you don't want food then grab a drink and enjoy the bikes.

Cool place and no dout a hit with bikers. Imagine a modern day Mad Max (first movie from the 80s) but with friendly bikers. The food was pretty standard stuff but very tastey. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Probably all been said before but if it hasn't it should be. A great Biker cafe with not only an absolutely banging breakfast menu compmete with Fried Bread and Black Pudding but also great selection of burgers and shakes. Excellent atmosphere, great service! Sone lovely bikes for sale too, engaging and talkative owners. Nice ship attached to the cafe with a wide range of all types of Biking gear from waterproofs to boots and denim vests. Gert Lush Sunday morning breakfast which set me up for the 3 hour ride back to Chippenham.

Great place for bikers as there is always something to look at. Only ever been for breakfast. What is amazing for the price I would give 5 stars of that, but the sausages are disgusting and really knock the breakfast down massively, which is a shame

If you are a motorbike enthusiast, this place is a must! Robin and his team are great. Nice coffee and home made cakes, but they have bigger bites as well, if you fancy an actual meal.

Had to make a pit stop here! Beautifully clean. Great diner with quirky chandeliers made from exhaust pipes! Great cup of coffee served by lovely friendly people and my husband loved going into the showroom to stroke the motorbikes!

Great little place to have an all day breakfast whilst going home. Full of nostalgia and bikes will defo be back.

Took my son for a ride yesterday to chequered flag just to see if I could get him a decent cheap starter bike jacket staff were really helpful found him a leather jacket and gloves and even threw in a pair of boots top service very friendly staff excellent 👍

Good motorcycle themed cafe to break a journey or as a destination for a ride out. Good atmosphere, would happily stop off here with a car full of kids.

Passed this cafe loads of times so decided to call in. Well worth a visit. Very nice breakfast and friendly staff.

Stopped for Sunday breakfast- tourers breakfast about £7.95 . Nice friendly atmosphere, food arrived quickly. Good coffee, (not stewed) & real butter with our toast.

Never fails to serve fresh rolls with bacon cooked as you like it, best value large mug of tea too. My first choice when out on the bike or on my way to Trago. HELPED when I had a puncture to.

Amazing friendly staff and the food was excellent. Always a challenge eating out at a new venue as I’m gluten free, however I have never felt more comfortable. Separate fryers, all the staff were aware of gluten and made me feel comfortable. I couldn’t of been happier. Thank you very much x

I have visited the Chequed Flag cafe several times for a first-class breakfast. Best around... but today I arrived with my motorbike on the back of a recovery truck after breaking down in nearby Looe. Rob came out of the workshop and quickly resolved the problem of loose battery connections. He also checked my bike over and noticed my clutch reservoir tank was almost empty and quickly resolved that as well. This was all done just as he was about to close up for the day. I have seldom come across such exceptional service. He was so friendly and obviously very skilled in what he was doing. I will never take my bike anywhere else but to the Chequered Flag. In fact, I have booked my bike in for a complete health check next week as I'm so confident it couldn't be in better hands ... and whilst there I will have another great breakfast.

So today my family and I had a car breakdown and pulled into the cafe car park. We waited 3.5 hours for our breakdown recovery and even though the cafe was closed the owner checked how we were and then brought out drinks and some cakes for all of us. Thank you very much and Happy Christmas and a Great New Year!

Lovely friendly people and very clean, the bacon and egg roll was the very best I have ever had. Cannot wait to visit again, such good value for money price's and nice decor.

Called in for breakfast. The staff and owner are very friendly and helpful and the food is first class. The cafe itself is quirky and is motor bike themed with lots of interesting things to look at or buy. The premises themselves are very clean comfortable to sit in and decorated nicely. We really enjoyed our stay.

Whilst on an organised work ride out today we stopped at the cafe for breakfast, great food and service and Robin then went over the top and saw the group safely back onto the A38 by waving his checkered flag, couldn't have asked for more. Awesome. On a separate note Robin previously sorted my troublesome alarm, super efficient and professional workshop too. Thanks guys

This was a great find on our way home from holiday. The breakfasts were fantastic and everyone thoroughly enjoyed them. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and we were made to feel very welcome. Good value for money also. Would highly recommend

We stopped off here thinking it would be a bit different with good no fuss food. Cafe looked promising and staff friendly. We decided to sit outside at the back of the cafe as the weather was good but it was a bit of a let down as it was little more than a bin/storage area with a few tables. Our food arrived really quickly but unfortunately the sausages were a bit undercooked as was the fat on the bacon, the coffee wasn't great either. But the homemade cake was very good. Maybe it was just a bad day.

Lovely ,freindly gent took our orders , and i had a gluten free large breakfast, it was lovely and cooked to perfection .will be going back.

Today was our first visit to the checkered flag cafe and we were impressed. It was clean and tidy with friendly staff and lots of great features such as free WiFi and made to order food. We only had drinks and snacks today but the others there eating (& there were lots) were all positive about the food and left empty plates. The staff were busy and service wasn’t the fastest but it was friendly and we not in any rush. We enjoyed the phone charger points and free WiFi as well as chatting to others there. It’s surprisingly big inside and there’s lots to look at. They had motorcycles and biker equipment for sale and adjacent to the cafe is a garage you can see through into and find out what they’re working on. I’m very happy to recommend this cafe on the basis of today’s visit.

Just been in here and had the street triple burger,and it was mega! Top quality,one of the best I’ve had.Everthing about the place is great,the staff,the service,the atmosphere,it’s just great.

I popped into Chequered Flag Cafe by accident as I was having car troubles and it was the closest stop, I was very lucky though! Immediately someone from the cafe came out to check I was ok, then sent over two mechanics to assess my car. In the meantime, my Dad and I had breakfast in the cafe which was really tasty. The cafe itself has a really cool decor, tasty food, big selection of cakes and a lovely chilled atmosphere. It made breaking down a lot less stressful, and I would definitely recommend the cafe as both a destination place to eat as well as if you're passing. Thank-you!

What a lovely place, we had just finished adrenaline quarry and was looking for a place to have lunch that also allowed dogs, called before hand and the lady on the phone confirmed they were dog friendly Menu is very varied and we choose jacket potato, pulled pork panini, cheese burger and scrambled egg and smoked salmon bagel and I just say they were all freshly cooked and very tastyStaff are very friendly and place is clean and tidy Would definitely recommend it’s so nice to support independent cafe rather than the big chains

Always clean and tidy. you don’t have to be a biker in leathers to stop here..everyone’s welcome..my young granddaughters love looking at the bikes, books and videos on show. They often hold evening events, quiz nights, and get togethers...always something going on...wish I lived nearer...

Out on the bike like so many other reviewers, have passed this cafe sooo many times. Today after spoiling my husband with a bike themed weekend - (how many bikes can you look at or test drive?)We decided some refreshments were needed. Opting for the mini moto “breakfast” and ordering 2 baps to go with it was just the job cup of tea each all for under £10. Lovely friendly staff too will definitely be back.

I have driven passed this place over the years and always wanted to go in. I'm gutted I didn't go sooner, so will be returning! You are made to feel welcome as soon as your tyres hit the car /bike park. My (well behaved) 3 year old and I stopped for ice- cream, which was delicious and served quickly.The little touches really helped, a 'rubix' on the table, I can't explain it, I felt right at home here.Keep up the good work, I want to eat more here and get a t-shirt!

Having had an early start to get some work done on my motorhome I stopped off here on the way home for a spot of "brunch". Now to add a little bit of background I'm an infrequent visitor but have been here a number of times but just for a coffee in the p.m.With me I had my teenage great niece (a challenge to feed at the best of times). Tea and a fantastic slice of cake for her and a breakfast that really hit the mark for me.Well done Robin and Karen. I almost came away with a scooter for the back of my MH. Maybe next time!

I've visited here several times and as the weather today was forecast to be dry I thought I'd make the most of it , got there just after 0930 and ordered the breakfast as I have many times before , when I arrived it was dry, and over cooked as if it was yesterday's reheated, as I'm not normally one to moan I just put it down to them having an off day , however after leaving a hour or so later I barely made it back on my bike , before I was seriously ill with well you can imaging , I'd had nothing yo eat before that day, and know one I know or I'm my family had been I'll, it could of only come from the awful breakfast they served, it's not the first time I've had a poor breakfast there , but it is the first time I've been I'll because of it. Please eat here with caution, and if it's dodgy send it back. It's a pitty because I really like the place.

After years of driving past on the A38 from Looe to Liskeard and saying, "I wonder what that cafe's like? Must go in one day," my son and I finally did stop.

Stopped in on way to holiday 4 adults and small child, ordered 5 lunches and coffees wasn’t overly busy drinks took 20 mins and the food came out staggered last person me:) got mine 10 mins after my friends so had eat while everyone watched Shame it didn’t live up to the decor

A classic cafe with beautiful cooked brunch! Child and dog friendly! Very accommodating and the friendly staff! Nothing was a problem for them! Staff are the best! Would recommend this place! A hidden gem! For motorcycle enthusiasts it is a must!

Special breakfast for a special husband on his special day( birthday). My husband is bike mad and there really isn't anywhere else to take him for a slap up breakfast.

Stopped here recently for a brunch/breakfast extravaganza. Lots of motorbike 'porn' here to be seen. Quite often there is something going on that is helping to raise money for charity which combines well with the various options for something to eat. The meals are biker themed and I opted for a 'Tourer' breakfast as opposed to a 'Cruiser'. This was plenty for me and was of traditional fayre, piping hot and delicious.Staff were cheery and welcoming even though the cafe was extremely busy. Certainly worth nipping in here if you are out for the day on your bike around this neck of the woods.

We were looking for somewhere to grab lunch without resorting to service station/supermarket sandwiches when we spotted the Chequered Flag. So pleased we did as it isn’t somewhere we would normally have stopped but what a great little place.

Step back in time to when good food, friendly people and a great atmosphere, meant everything. The Chequered Flag is everything about being valued as a customer and your experience being as good as possible. This is more than just a cafe, it is a place to go for friendly banta good fun and just to hangout with nice people around.

Visit occasionally for a really good breakfast in a friendly environment. Lots of interesting thing to look at and read about the bikes in the cafe - comfy sofas to loaf on as well.

Stopped off at the Chequered Flag for a late breakfast. One carnivorous & one veggie. Both excellent & piping hot. Friendly service. Great bike themed decor. Dogs welcomed if they’re well behaved & on leads. Highly recommended & will be calling in again soon.

Very nice place to visit in Cornwall. Great for a quick passing stop or a full meal. Fantastic place for bike enthusiasts, you don't have to ride a bike to visit, the staff are very welcoming to all customers from a lone person to families. Plenty of toys and games for the kids and much to look at for the parents. Highly recommended.

This roadside cafe is set in a bike theme and its does this very well, late night opening on a Wednesday A motorcycle forum uses it for bike meets etc and you can be assured of a good warm welcome.

And was on the way home when the Chequered Flag came into view, the answer to my need. The Cruiser is enough to satisfy any appetite and boy did I enjoy it. Didn't wany anything else that day!!!

Really like to go to this cafe when we are in Cornwall as we know we will be able to get a good Gluten Free meal for my daughter and I and normal fayre for other members of the family. It has a good range of seating for all shapes and sizes of visitors! The focus is on the motorbiking community but there is no reason for those of us who no longer ride bikes not to feel equally welcome! My only criticism is that the service is a little slow (think it took nearly an hour to get our lunch) but if you are not in a hurry (which were weren't), it's fine!

Popped in with husband & son..... for a cupper.... I had a savoury tea, better half had a pork burger , really enjoy my savoury tea, a fun twist on cream tea... spot on, well presented, & the pork burger... I had to have a bite.... yummy....

Nice place to call in for a quick snack. Simple food but wide choice. I like that they offer dairy and gluten free choices, including drinks and cakes. Good for a stop with young kids as there are toys, board games and a scalectrix track they cab play with.

Had to go there on business. Nice friendly people. Very welcoming. A clever niche market - complete with an on-site workshop for bikes (with whatever level of expert help needed). But they do not only cater for the bikers. Couples of a 'certain age' have realized what value for money it is.

Was impressed on first visit just after it opened. More impressed yesterday when My Lovely Wife and I went for second breakfast. MLW had a massive fry up and I had a mini moto (bacon egg beans) then had a big swap around because of MLW's unfortunate dietary issues so no sausages for her (gluten) or buttered toast (lactose and gluten) or black pudding (might have shell fish in, honestly love would I lie?) or egg whites (fussy). Coffee came in a big mug ,perfect for my dodgy hands , on bike footage on the TV and lots of bikes parked up outside. Only downside is it's in the wrong county so if access and rent and rates get too difficult please consider moving to Devon preferably Totnes or Kingsbridge. Ta muchly

We live a few miles away in Polperro. We have often passed and not stopped. (Not hungry, already eaten ..bla..,bla...) yesterday was Different! On our way to Trago and starving. In we go. Spotlessly clean and very welcoming indeed. Some old rockers sitting and chatting and shopping tales and obviously enjoying the grub. My partner had a Cesur salad (not sure on spelling there) and I had a burger. Not any old burger, an amazing burger. This wonderful female chef who is a friend of the family who own it is brilliant. I sat and watched her and she take PRIDE in her cooking. I told her too afterwards. Best burger for years. And my partner said her salad (won't try spelling it again but it's the surname of that Julius chap) was also top notch. This is a really unusual and unique find. While you wait , the music is fantastic. Jimmy Hendrix, Meatloaf etc. Not too loud , just right. Lovely furniture and fascinating vidios of bikers etc to watch too. AND THEY ARE LICENSED! great place, lovely owner, son and staff. Well Done! Very refreshing! Asta la vista baby. I will be back !

I recently moved to the area,riding along on a hot day so decided to pop in for an ice cream. What a real treat,really friendly staff, good facilities, I could even dry my jacket out if needed, magazines, motorcycle clothing for sale, the whole place packed with interesting stuff,there is even a workshop for MOT . In short a good stop on the road, I will be certainly stopping there again. Ice cream was excellent too cakes looked good, and meals cooked for others looked good too, give it a go.

Visited in a group of 8-10, I ordered the all day breakfast, arrived at the table hot, well presented & looked attractive. The fried eggs were actually cooked in a frying pan, not on a griddle!! (can't stand crispy eggs!!) all in all an enjoyable meal. Will repeat the experience. Friendly staff.

We've been going here since it opened, to the cafe, bike jumbles, and last night as they had a band on, Sgt Flynn.

Robin, the owner, and his wife Karen really are excellent as are the staff. Robin is keen to help any motorcycle owner with problems great or small. He will service your bike or allow you to service your own using his equipment. He is available as a sounding board for the insecure or new riders, such as me.

A great pitstop towards the end of a longish day out. A warm welcome and reasonable prices in bikey surroundings. I noted a lot of facilities for the gadget fiends. A cherry and almond flapjack was good but the (Kelly's) ice cream was *very* good indeed. Tea was made well. Worth a stop but note that rejoining the A38 requires caution in anything that accelerates more slowly than a Ferrari - speeds on the main road are disturbingly high and you rejoin uphill.

We're an awkward family ... Autistic kids, lactose intolerant and coeliacs suffering wife, and me in a wheelchair. The staff are warm and welcoming and we had an awesome lunch. My wife was especially pleased with her gluten free bagel with gf burgers and lactose free cheese ... My cheesey chips were delicious and the kids were so pleased with their experience our more severely autistic son (who's very very picky) gave the waitress a massive hug before we left! No greater complement can there be than a hug from that child! And not only was it wheelchair accessible with sensible easy to reach tables but they checked with me that I was OK and able to access everything i needed to reach. Now that's customer service :)

This is a lovely venue great when your travelling and need a bite to eat it served gluten free alternatives and the staff are lovely and they bake the cakes on the premises we had a full English breakfast it was delicious gluten free and hot the coffee was lovely too we got some cookies to go and we will definitely be going there again when we are next in Cornwall

The eating options on the Premier site are poor. If you do not have to be up at the crack of dawn then breakfast at the Chequered Flag starts at 10 am. Earlier than that you could try Morrisons or if you don't mind the long loop drive around Castle Motors the you can double back to Terry's Tasties. But the Chequered Flag would always be my preference.

Me and my partner ate here. We had the best meal here, so tasty and the bike theme was a great touch. A real delight!!

This venue has been set up to be attractive to bikers, though everybody is made welcome.

A brilliant stop off on the A38 which is well worth a visit. A great 'biker cafe' that makes everyone welcome. Cornwall answer to the Ace Cafe in Park Royal London.

This is fast becoming a regular haunt although I feel a bit of a cheat turning up on my not so fast Van Van.

Popped in for coffee but was tempted to indulge in some cake as well, glad we did as it was very good. Coffee was also great & we were somewhat surprised, much better than expected! Very friendly service & nice clean toilets. Will be back next time we are passing, in fact we had to go back an hour later as my wife left her bag, it was kindly kept behind the counter for her, thank you :)
