Haywards At The Grasmere in Bath and North East Somerset

Really nice bar and restaurant, staff are friendly and welcoming. I went for the roast beef, oh my goodness, incredible tender and seasoned well, plus I had a good portion as well. Yorkshire pudding was booked perfectly and wasn't overdone. Gravy was nice but I felt there could have been a bit more. The veg was maple roasted carrots, swede l, kale , cabbage and parsnips. All very tasty. My special mention of the week goes to the Roast potatoes, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. It was seasoned really well. The side of crackling was very tasty as well. Strongly recommend this place, is reasonably priced as well.

The roast dinner at Haywards was delicious and really flawless. Everything was so full of flavour and perfectly cooked. Unfortunately, I have given Haywards 4 stars as when we arrived, we waited 15 minutes and then had to get up and ask the waitress to come and take our order as we had been forgotten about. Then after our food had arrived, my partner needed another drink and no one was looking our way or paying attention, so he went without. Further to this, we had to ask for the bill twice. We understood that it was busy, but felt ignored as a table in the corner. This was a shame. Having said this, we would return to Haywards at the Grasmere as the food was excellent.

Great restaurant! We've been many times as it's local to family and it never disappoints! I particularly like the fact it caters extremely well for gluten free and vegetarian customers. Recommended!

Had lunch with two friends Thursday 29th Feb ‘24 nice atmosphere but food disappointing. First impressions looked lovely (two of us had chicken kiev the other scrambled egg with salmon). Huge chicken breast but had very thick overcooked breadcrumb coating. When cut open there was no garlic or moistness. The sourdough toast with the egg dish was hard and burnt asked for bread and butter to be able to finish meal.

Visited on Friday the 23rd for lunch as we were given a voucher for Christmas, was not disappointed far from it we were met by friendly staff on arrival and we were shown to our table, the restaurant was decorated to a high modern standard. The waitress then brought over water and the menu and said i will come back when you are ready to order, after looking at the very reasonable priced menu with quite a choice of meals we both decided on the Sirloin steak and chips, the two young waitresses could not have been more help full when they took our order, a short while later the meals arrived i can not fault the meals the steak was cooked to perfection exactly as we asked for and the chips were superb. This is a restaurant we will certainly be returning to and have already recommended to several of our friends and family. We had a very pleasant stay here. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and check in and out was efficient. The rooms are above the bar service area but we couldn’t hear much noise at all when we were in the room. The room was clean, with tea and coffee provisions available. It was a bit dated overall and the electric power shower was not that powerful, but this would not put me off coming back again. The breakfast was also very reasonable and tasty!

I booked Haywards for a baby shower and they were excellent from start to finish. The booking was easy and they offered us a private room which was perfect. They were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. The afternoon which I’m not usually a fan of, was very good. Lots of savoury options which made for a nice change! Overall was great and would definitely return.

We have visited Haywards several times and never been disappointed. The standard of the food is very high and beautifully presented. The menu changes regularly and is always interesting. Much better than a lot of the restaurants in nearby Bath.

My friend and I had a gorgeous meal at Haywards last evening. The food was very good and different from the usual Christmas food offered in many places. We had duck and it was just delicious. There was an option to add side dishes which we didn't choose as the main meal was more than adequate for us. Good choices of dessert and overall a great meal. Would certainly make a return visit.

The Afternoon tea is a real treat, everything is delicious and just a little bit different from the rest. The restaurant is clean and comfortable and the staff are excellent. No rush at all and a very relaxing place to enjoy good food. forgot to take a photo as so busy enjoying ourselves!

Pros: Rooms were clean, and the breakfast was very good Cons: Preference was a quiet room but I was given a room on the noisy roadside (which is a constant busy road), had to use ear plugs. Shower cubicle very small with very little water. Mattress and pillows were uncomfortable. Could have benefited logistically with some better placed sockets to bed, overall the price did not feel worth the stay. Room was also very hot, but windows couldn’t be opened due to the noise.

Heard good things about Haywards at The Grasmere so visited with a friend. We weren't disappointed.

The rooms were large and had a spacious en suite. Lots of plugs to charge and in room kettle with lots of tea and cream in the hallway. The breakfast is amazing and quite filling. Well worth the stay and eat.

Food is amazing. The menu changes fairly regularly, and everything on the menu is perfect for any foodies! The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Service is great and they give you the ideal amount of time between courses, and you never feel rushed. Not only is it the best food in Keynsham, one of the top places to eat in Banes. Still such a hidden gem that many people don’t know of the restaurant’s existence.

We came here for a 60th birthday party with about 20 people. The staff were very accommodating and knowledgable of the menu. A couple of us ordered a roast dinner…some had a mix, a few had beef and a few had pork. Each one looked delightful. Some people had burgers which looked extra juicy and the fries were crispy in texture. I wish I took some photos. I’d definitely recommend this place for a lovely Sunday lunch with the family.

Fairly small rooms and tiny bathrooms and showers. Rude Manager Joel who could not care less for the comfort of his "guests". Would never stay there again.
