Miller and Carter Steakhouse in Bath and North East Somerset

Service was as usual great, unfortunately we left most of our expensive sharing board as the rump was inedible ( too blue) and the steak knives wouldn’t cut it no matter from which angle we tried, we asked for it to done medium ! The ribeye was full of fat not just a small amount which is usual , the fillet however was lovely , the filling in the marrow bone was far too sweet and sickly, for the second time of visiting the Cote de boeuf was out of stock :(

Booked this place last minute as the restaurants we wanted to go were fully booked. Thinking it was a chain, we expected the standard to still be acceptable. However, we were met with cold food, and a chateaubriand that was medium rare on one side and absolutely BLUE on the other! I don't know how they managed to cook only one side of a steak but they did! Flavours were just very very mid. Would not recommend.

Our waitress Izzy was so wonderful and couldn’t do enough for us! Thank you to Dan for the steak - was very nice and we love you! The dessert chef grace also made us a birthday plate which was so lovely & it looked almost as gorgeous as her. I failed to see anything worth commenting on .the table next to us complained and we're given two free drinks. Although we found the meal ok and did not complain.

I love M&C I’ve been multiple times to the Bath restaurant Literally the only thing that ever is not a 10 is the speed of the drinks service, but that’s just me having to be super picky 10/10

I have been to all the best restaurants in Bath and this is an outstanding place to eat. We were well looked after, food was very high quality, lots of choice and the environment first class. We will be back

We had a lovely meal the steak was lovely and cooked perfectly to our liking. Our server was Florina and she was very helpful and well mannered. We would recommend here as the food was lovely.

Been here a few times now. Always excellent food, service and atmosphere.

Greeted well and re-seated after being put on a table where we were overlooked. It was a double birthday treat, acknowledged on arrival. Ordered 10 oz fillet mignon, which are served as 2 individual steaks, which although cooked as requested, were only just warm. Our waiter, Mark, apologised and took them away, returning with the same steaks, but still only maginally warmer than before. We returned them again, asking for the same steaks, but hot. Third time lucky and served with a new onion fritter and a new portion of sauce. They were delicious. Mark then served our desert with Happy Birthday messages, which we appreciated. Overall a good experience but the kitchen should have produced these top quality steaks correctly the first time round. Congratulations to Mark for handling it calmly and professionally.

My son’s choice of venue. Not really my style of food not enough veggie options Food was fine nothing special. Jess T was a lovely welcoming waitress. Unlike the maitre d Andrea who was decidedly sour.

Looks and feels like a top-notch restaurant but seems to not quite be able to live up to expectations. Shared the Chateaubriand for two. The accompaniments were good, especially the vinaigrette and beef dripping jus. And the rosti potato was fried to perfection: crisp, light and not greasy. But the steak was small. I'm not a big eater by any means but I could have finished it myself. Also not the greatest tasting beef, so they should consider a supplier who knows their cuts. The staff made up for it somewhat. The waitress was helpful, attentive and talkative.

Sam W was our waiter and did a great job. They were short staffed this evening but he was great & nothing was too much trouble for him. Great food, great Sunday menu choices, would thoroughly recommend here.

My wife and I went out on a spontaneous date night to Miller and Carter in Bath. Where we were served by Sam W. I had the 50 day aged black Angus filet mignon and my wife had the dirty burger. The food was amazing, the service was amazing and all round perfect evening. I would highly recommend visiting here.

Had lunch with friends on Saturday (09/03). The fixed price menu was great value with plenty of choice. Food cane out promptly and was cooked to perfection. Our Waiter (Sam W) was friendly, helpful and humorous - great experience all round

Amazing, I highly recommend the sharing steak experience board. Steak just melts in your mouth. Flo was our waitress she had been at m&c for just 4 days but knew all about the menu and helped us out a lot. Brilliant waitress is very attentive with a good sense of humour.

On George St. in Bath it is just a short walk up from the center of town or down from the Crescent. The menu is is clearly that of a steakhouse, but we chose two chicken options. Both were delicious with one being the fried chicken sandwich and the other being the roasted chicken. The steaks that passed by looked delicious, but can not speak directly about those. The service was also very good from Jess who was our waitress.

We have been looking forward to have a meal at miller and carter for some time. To be honest we felt it was average nothing special especially for the price it didn’t feel any more special than a harvester.

Had a great meal here tonight the butcher block was fantastic Our waiter for this evening was out standing was confident and well knowledgeable thank you so much Sam W unfortunately couldn’t not get us our espresso mart but was more then helpful on giving good recommendations on the hot spots in town Well worth a visit

Lady at welcome desk, very poor at her job, unwelcoming, unfriendly and slow to serve! Very dissatisfying start. Prawns starter hugely overcooked and tasted like detergent, everything slow service wise, medium lamb requested, arrived very well done although edible, mac and cheese best thing served. Pudding ok, drinks ok. Massively OVER PRICED for quality now, down hill rapidly! Miller and Carters has become same type of eating establishment as Frankie and Bennys or Hungry Horse, such a shame, been disappointed lately in Poole M & C so thought we’d try Bath M and C, will not be tempted again!! Such a shame!

This was my third visit to a Miller and Carter restaurant and I have to say that on this occasion I was left very disappointed. My first visit to a M&C was at the Sevenoaks, Kent branch and I was impressed throughout on that occasion, so much in fact that last year me and my now fiancée got engaged at the one in Bristol, where they bent over backwards to ensure that the occasion was 'special'. Saturday was the 1st anniversary of our engagement and to celebrate I decided to try the Bath restaurant and partly because I had been enticed along with the promise of a free glass of bubbly each (by email). But there were strings attached to this in that if we ate from the set Valentines menu, then we couldn't have the bubbly. The Valentines menu 3-course deal wasn't actually much of a deal either, so we decided to choose from the usual menu. Service was initially great, with our waiter introducing himself, explaining various things to us and getting our drinks/taking orders etc, but we were unaware that he was near the end of his shift and halfway through our meal another waitress took over. Our starters were very tasty and all was good until our steaks came out. I think they must have been cooked and left 'resting' for a little too long because they were both only lukewarm. My chips and other accompaniments on the other hand were hot. When our new waitress came to take our plates away, I mentioned that the steaks were cold, but she showed little interest. All in all this level of service and food quality was not worth what we paid for it and it is highly unlikely that I will be willing to repeat the experience, which is a shame.

Food was great, good service. It could have been a bit quicker but we enjoyed the chat.

Starters, I had the halloumi fries, which were fine. My wife had the chipotle chicken, and although tasty, it was too greasy. When pressed with the fork, the oil could clearly be seen. I had the surf and turf filet mignon. The quality of my steak was exceptional, and cooked exactly to my order; however, my lobster tail was overcooked to the point I struggled to extract the meat from the shell and ended up tearing it to pieces. As tasty as it was, I feel it should have had more care and attention towards such a special ingredient. The accompanying onion loaf, again as with the chicken chipotle, was too greasy. My wife had the half chicken. The skin was fatty and flabby and not to pleasant to look at, None of these failings were enough to return the food but the overall experience was not what we were expecting. The service was good.

Have been here a few times and have always had a really good time and great food. Unfortunately this time some of the shell fish was a little over cooked but our server Stephanie’s excellent service more than made up for it. Very helpful with our food selection and was very friendly and professional.

We stopped in for lunch in a Saturday, whilst busy they were able to seat us without a reservation. Both the food and service from our waitress Shannon were excellent, we will Come here again

Came in today with my now fiancé and what a lovely experience, we were gonna run late for our booking as parking in bath is horrendous but rang to say and was told we were okay and just come in when we can, witch was lovely as my heart was racing anyway, when we arrived we we’re taken to our seats and we were placed in lovely Stephanie’s section, she was ever happy to sort us out with all our silly questions and looked after us brilliantly, the food order was taken and did not disappoint, and Stephanie was very good with checking in on us and getting any thing else we asked for, at the end of the meal she even managed to capture me and my now fiancées moment , on video when I asked her to take a photo for us, we love coming to the restaurant any way but will definitely return more often with the grate food quality and staff quality, thank you again from the bottom of our hearts

My Partner and I, came to dine at Milller and Carter Bath, for Valentine's day. Even though the restaurant was packed, we were made to feel like we were the only people in the room with amazing service. We had a lovely waitress - Stephaine. We couldn't fault her amazing attitude, warm nature and professional manner. The food was sensational - cooked and seasoned to perfection. The cocktails were gorgeous and the atmosphere was divine. 10/10 will be returning.
